First time to this practice and was very impressed! Hygienist was very meticulous with the cleaning, dentist was personable and professional, and the overall office was welcoming. I’d say the care and equipment was a mix of “old school” and modern and just right! The office was busy but efficiently processing patients, and I had no wait. Dr. Barkley seemed concerned about the health of my teeth but not trying to sell me on every “up service” and unnecessary procedures. Highly recommend practice.

The staff is always very friendly and makes you feel comfortable, and they worked me in the same day for a tooth ache. They are quite efficient as well, and I have never experienced a long wait time. I was in and out of my most recent appointment in 10 minutes, including X-rays and an exam by the dentist.

I have been coming here for 2 years and they are fantastic. Everyone is very nice. I never feel like I am being taken advantage of or being pushed some unnecessary procedures or products. They have made great COVID-19 modifications that make me feel much safer coming here as a patient.

Waiting room was not crowded, I was taken back within 5 minutes of my arrival, and the staff was friendly. The dental hygienist was gentle and thorough, asking me if I needed breaks during the cleaning. The dentist was also thorough and answered all of my questions.

Enjoyed the service. Very professional and most importantly NO PAIN getting my teeth cleaned.

I was absolutely satisfied with my visit. From the time I called to make my appointment as a new patient, until I walked out with my crown in place, there was not a single hiccup. Dr. Morrissey and her staff are pleasant and professional. The office was clean and everyone there was observing COVID mitigation efforts. The state of the art technology allowed for me to have ONE visit to get the crown perfectly fitted.

I love that you can purchase a nose piece for your nitrous and they keep it stored for you for next time. Theyve been doing that a while, even before covid. The art on the walls is delightfully funky, and there are some pieces personal to Dr. Morrissey. Its a fun office.

My wife and I had another great experience at Hoover Family Dentistry during our yearly cleaning and exam yesterday. The dental hygienist did a fantastic job cleaning our teeth. Dr. Morrisseys exam was thoughtful, thorough, and professional as usual. Covid protective measures were adhered to. Weve used Hoover Family Dentistry over the last 14 years though we havent lived in the Birmingham area for the last 7 years. We appreciate the professionalism and friendliness shown by all. I love it here! Dr. Barkley took excellent care of me and my teeth. She was also really easy to talk to and friendly. I was in and out very quickly. I didnt have to wait more than 2 minutes after I arrived to be seen, and the ladies at the front desk were really knowledgeable about all of my insurance questions. The dental assistants and hygienists were fantastic, as well! I had a filling done on 9/26/13 and less than a week later, Dr. Barkley sent me a hand written note thanking me for coming in and saying how nice it was to meet me. I thought it was a nice touch, and something no other dentist or doctor has ever taken the time to do. Great experience all around. HFD has me as a patient for as long as Im living here! Ive had horrible dental experiences for as long as I can remember, and it was super refreshing to feel so relaxed and stress-free walking into the dentist office! I HIGHLY recommend this facility to everyone!

Awesome people and service

Needing a dentist in close proximity to my mom-in-laws Assisted Living facility, we tried Hoover Family Dentistry due to the excellent reviews I read of them. Our first visit with them left me more than impressed! They treated my 91yr. old mom-in-law with the utmost patience, kindness and time and attention, not just to her teeth, but to her as a person! Dr. Barkley and Christy were amazing!

Super efficient. Very rarely have to even sit down. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Could be why they have been voted best dentist in Hoover for a whole lot of years.

Yuck! Had to go to the dentist yesterday. While I may not like going to the dentist (and I dont!) I really do like my dentist. Talking with a friend about my morning, I concluded with how happy my family was that we had found Hoover Family Dentistry. The office staff is friendly and I have never heard and unpleasant word among them. They must be great in scheduling as I have never had to wait long and then they get you in and out. The hygienists are gentle and professional, and Dr. Barkley is great! She has proven trustworthy in only recommending what is needed and in my best interest for my dental care.

The office is newly updated, the staff is wonderful, and the overall atmosphere turns what in the past would have been a dreaded appointment into a pleasant one.

Everybody was real friendly & accommodating from the front desk to dental hygienists to dentists. I’ve been there 4xs now, I never have to wait except my first visit, even that didn’t take more than 10 mins. They are quick to get you in for any problems or concerns you have. I never felt like a new patients.

We were new to the area and I have always dreaded the dentist office visits in the past. I needed some emergency work done quickly and feared the worse. The staff was awesome, the procedure was completely painless and I have no apprehension or fear to go back in the future. My whole family goes here now. Thanks

I started going to Dr. Barkley after moving to Birmingham a few years ago. I had some traumatic experiences (an accident and lots of dental work) and had become very anxious about going to the dentist. She was empathetic, kind, funny, and professional. She did not push me at all and waited until I was ready to complete the next step of my dental work. I have grown to trust her and her assistants and all my previous anxiety is gone.
