Went to Dr. Way for a physical before a surgery. When I called they asked me why I was making the appointment. When I arrived I also told them why I was there. When I was in the examination room I also told the nurse and Dr. Way I was there. He did not give me a physical because the surgeon did not order the physical, then proceeded to tell me to make the appointment when the surgeon orders it. I was then charged $140. When I called to let them know Dr. Way did nothing, because my surgeon did not order the physical. They told me that I was in to see Dr. Way because if my asthma. I was shocked!! I talked to the office manager, nurse, and another office worker that continued to insist I was there for asthma. I asked 3 separate times to speak to Dr. Way and was refused. I am 57 years old and never was denied assess to my physician. Very, very poor attitude from the office help. They treat you like they are doing you a favor. Dr. Way has very bad bedside manners for a doctor. I never experienced anything like this ever in my life.

I have been using Dr Way for over a year. When I left his office on my last visit, I told the nurse that he was such a likable, knowledgeable physician. She said she hears that about him several times a day. I can not say enough good things about the way he and his office staff have cared for myself and my family. Highly recommend.

I like Dr. Way a lot! Ive been his patient for a little over two years now. Hes very knowledgeable and doesnt rush in and out like a number of physicians Ive had in the past. He listens to me, answers my questions, and gives good advice for how to improve my health.

I’m very thankful for Dr. Way! He helped me uncover the root of some debilitating symptoms. He’s always listened to my concerns and never made me feel rushed. I have confidence in his skills and greatly appreciate his help!

**Keep in mind, this is not to rate the PA staff - this is just the front of house staff and Dr. Way specifically.***I have been to quite a few MDs in the city of Greenville over the years - Ive been a resident here on and off my whole life. I was even a patient of Riverside Family Practice through my teens when they were off Highway 14, and had a generally positive experience there and only left because I moved cities. When I came back into town and was looking for a new GP, it made sense for me to go back with a familiar name. Im really, really wishing Id gone looking elsewhere and shopped around a bit. Overall, my entire experience at this location has ranged from lackluster to downright obnoxious, even veering into hostility. For starters, they wouldnt even see me as a new patient for almost a month from the first time I tried to make an appointment. Ive only actually seen the Doctor Way three times since; Ive seen his PA once (Emily Goforth is great), and the other times Ive called for appointments the reception staff has acted like it was a hassle to even try and work me in. In lieu of waiting 2 weeks to be seen for something, Ive just gone to MD360 instead. The times Ive actually made it in (again, barring the time seeing Emily Goforth), its been ludicrously past the scheduled appointment time. Im a patient person, but when Im having to burn an hour of my vacation to have a consultation that should have happened within the confines of the original lunch hour? Thats just inexcusable. Not to mention the fact that when I mentioned how unhappy I was about that to Dr. Way, it was brushed very quickly aside, and back to business. I imagine he saw my eyes widen at such a brisk dismal of something that was so important, because he did backpedal and apologize at the end of the visit. I appreciate it, but that didnt get my hour of vacation back.In regards to the front of house staff, I can say that my general experience with them has been anywhere from aloof to confrontational. I wish I had names; not everyone is guilty. But overwhelmingly, the receptionists and their demeanor toward myself and everyone Ive listened to them interact with is just awful. When I call in to get an important refill and a staff member tells me that were running a skeleton staff today, its Friday. I cant promise itll get done, my mind is just blown. This was during midday business hours, not early or late in the shift. Skeleton staff or not, pick up the phone and make it happen. The real kicker, and what ultimately sent me down the road of grabbing my medical records from them, is how the above scenario continued to play out. Ive tried now for 2 weeks to get this important prescription filled. The first time, I guess the skeleton crew couldnt make it happen.Fine. Okay. I call during normal hours today and asked them to fill it, which they inform me that they already did. I called CVS, they have received nothing from them. I called the doctors office back, they get defensive, and agree to call it back in.I get to CVS, and of course, CVS didnt get it. I called the on-call doctors office (since its after hours), and the office has a no-call-in policy after hours for any medicines. This is insane to me, especially considering that Im trying to rectify a mistake that they have made. So, its 7:30PM, and Ive got to wait for an office to open tomorrow that may very well not - its the day before Thanksgiving, and God knows what skeleton crew theyll be running. Im leaving town mid-afternoon, and potentially without a medication thats extremely important.I could write literally volumes lamenting the state of the depersonalization of and volume-based shitshow that is our current healthcare system. Smarter people and better writers already have, so I wont do that here.Just know that if you want a living, breathing example of whats wrong with it, look no further than this place. Ill be shopping for a new GP as soon as I possibly can.
