This is the absolute WORST hospital in the upstate. Worse food both in service and preparation, they can buy a new parking lot but not repair simple things like hand soap dispensers in rooms or properly clean the ER rooms. I know someone who used to work in the kitchen and she said there was roaches coming out of the drains and the entire staff was bullies who ignored her harassment she was getting. The ER staff just walk around eating snacks, laughing, staring and ignoring patients. Close this place down! If they dont care about staff they wont care about you.

I spent 4 hours in the ER because of severe abdominal pain. It was chalked up to menstrual cramps. I had to go to a second hospital and I was properly diagnosed with an ovarian cyst. If I had not gotten a second opinion my health would be in a very dangerous territory because of this hospital. Do not recommend this to anyone.

No one would help or try to figure it out. So I would always get sent home. One day my grandma told my mother to take me to st francis. They were so understanding, nice and caring. They took their time to figure out what it was. It was a neurological disorder called RCVS. It can occur after childbirth . Dr. Lepenna was awesome! Used to be my favorite hospital. Came here on the 19th of March, being 10 weeks pregnant with dehydration and extreme nausea/vomiting. My nurse was rude right off the bat. Okay that’s fine, maybe she’s having a bad night. I get into the room and see that there’s a used IV tube from previous patient hanging out of the trash can.. wireless Bluetooth headphones on the floor under the chair from previous patient... obviously not cleaning these rooms throughly, might I remind you, we are in a PANDEMIC. Speaking of pandemic, when I leave the room to go somewhere else, there’s 6-8 nurses/hospital staff piled on top of each other watching a video on a cell phone. Imagine 6-8 people trying to watch a video on a 6 inch screen. They were WAY too close for comfort. This is a hospital, they need to obey the CDC guidelines in the very LEAST. I have reported them to DHEC and will NEVER return.

Negative Zero Plus!! This hospital is absolutely horrible!! They let people lay in a bed with holes in the sheets, no towels and/or washcloths! When asked who was responsible for changing the sheets and taking care of the patients non medical needs, I was told the assistant nurse! I witnessed this nurse rolling herself around in a wheelchair in the hallway and this person never came in the room the entire two days I was there. Every time I passed by the nurses station, all the nurses were talking and laughing and cutting up. There appeared to be no intentional care for any patients on this particular floor. They allowed patients to lay in their beds in pain and appeared to do so intentionally. I heard over and over and over again the nurses saying they were doing the best they could, right after moments before they were talking, laughing and cutting up in the nurses station. When patients call the nurses station with a request, it would be hours before the requests were addressed. More to come....During our visit, the nurses were very lax in the care they gave to the patient. The on-staff neurologist was arrogant, egotistical, narcissistic, and self centered. We asked to see the lab work he was explaining to us and he showed us someone elses record that revealed the narrative he was trying to sell!! He was just an inexperienced hack that continued to try and convince us that he was a neurologist. His experience was sub-pare at best and his beside manner was just plain non existent!! I had my back surgery here two weeks ago and they treated me so well that I wish I could have stayed longer. Everyone was polite, kind, and helpful. Remember that hospitals are understaffed during the Covid-19 crisis. If someone on staff is exposed, or doesnt feel well, they do not come to work, which puts a burden on the remaining staff. Even though my nurses told me that they were working extra hours, I would never have known this because they still treated me like I was the only person under their care. These people are my heroes!

I was positive at a private Dr. The ER physician treated me poorly and desperately needs treatment for his attitude in general. I took my 17 year old daughter to that er also. They overdosed my child with strong pain relief and I was there for her. I hate to think what could have happened if I had not been by her side. I have received great care from St. Francis doctors, even from the Primary Care next door. To the best of my knowledge, I received pretty good care here, as well, although many reviews are not so great, and have me reflecting on my visit in a different light. From my own experience, however, I have to agree that many of the staff could use some warmth. Coldness and lack of response to your patient whos disoriented, uncomfortable with pretty much everything going on, and in a totally alien place leaves two questions in mind: 1) Am I incoherent or unclear??? 2) Will they be more attentive when they *have* to be????? (the answer is yes, I think!) ... I mean really? Are you too busy to talk, smile, or make eye contact? Your patient is a person, you know. Shes never done this before, shes nervous, and you wont even tell her where shes going/where she is, what youre doing, or anything about anything at all. *Thats terrifying to her. You are heightening her state of distress.* It was a minor procedure, but it didnt have to be such a cold one. I may have only been nervous going in, but oh man I was ready to leave by the time they were done. A friend of mine spent a week at GHS, and the difference in personality was like night and day. Even the air was warmer. I have a personal loyalty to St. Francis from where I used to live. I know its a big network with strong credentials. I’m right across from some kind of nurses office and I can see them all in there talking and laughing. I don’t understand how you leave patients in the ER alone for over 2 hours when you aren’t busy. I could understand if there were a lot of people in there, but there isn’t; it’s 11pm. This is the worst ER and the most inattentive staff of nurses. As if that wasn’t bad enough, the doctor came in here and tried to tell me I’m dehydrated and that’s why all this is happening. I drank a liter of water before I came in here over a 2 hour period. I went with excruciating back pain. I was triaged and seen in 30 minutes. The first meds did not work. They tried a second time and help ease the pain. Dr. Collins and all the nurses were professional and kind. I cant recommend higher.

From the minute I arrived for my Outpatient Surgery to the moment I was escorted to my car, the whole staff was professional, friendly, kind, gentle, and caring. I had a wonderful experience. I especially want to thank Dr. Nick McLane, my surgeon, Dr. Hart, my anethesiologist, Laura in Recovery, and the kind nurses in the OR, one of whom brushed her fingers lightly over my forehead and said, Your going to have pleasant dreams now. There is a definite atmosphere of the Christian life here at work. It makes a nice difference.

Receptionist at Saint Francis Downtown Radiology (has foreign accent) just set the wrong tone for our visit. My friend asked me to go for moral support as she is going through so things. The doctor ordered MRI of thoracic and lumbar spine and MRI of brain in June. They had her scheduled for all three now, January. She was trying to let receptionist know she didnt MRI of brain yet because she just had that done. The receptionist, who Im sure was just trying to be funny but still, said oh thats one way to tell us you dont have a brain. I wouldnt have believed it had I not been standing right there to hear it. My friend is going through something that involves her brain and this comment was extremely insensitive and not professional for a medical facility. Ive worked in the medical field since 2006 and have never seen such an insensitive comment made so carelessly. I used to work for Saint Francis Eastside and will be contacting patient relations although the hurt to my friend is already done.

We had a terrible experience at Saint Frances this was our first time in years we had to make a trip to the ER and this will be our last. Staff was awfully rude no manners and also never knocked before entering or stated their names as a CNA myself and a current nursing student that is a big no no. Wouldnt recommend bringing your loved on to this hospital. Unfortunately we made the decision to pick Saint Francis after hearing great things and they fell short of that. Hippa violations everywhere!

Only reason I didnt give 5 stars us in November 2015 during my 11 days care for pneumonia, the first night I found bed bugs in my bed. Now my nurse and the shift head nurse did remove the entire bed from the room bc I insisted, and got me a new bed with new folded sheets I inspected. They were so good to me. Palmetto pulmonology docs took great care of me. The bed bugs lost you 1 star tho.

I have to say the staff on the 2nd floor are absolutely the best, I dont think I meet a single person that came to take care of me, be it a nurse to the janitorial staff that wasnt just so sweet and helpful in every way. I also would like to say that the x-Ray team was great also....I couldnt have asked for any better.

Brought my son for sudden fever, throat pain and bad headaches on sunday. They never did throat culture, never even looked at his throat, but did do flu test as protocol. Upon discharge the nurse came in, I asked how his flu test came back, she thumbed thru the same papers that were given to me and said flu test was negative that he just had a cold and to treat it with motrin. Mind you, my son has never ran a fever with just a cold. Once we got home I looked thru the same paperwork and nowhere did it state flu test was negative it said in process so I wasnt entirely convinced. Fast forward 2 days later still running fever and complaining of throat and head pain, I took him to his pediatrician in which he was diagnosed with strep throat. Had they checked his throat and done a culture he could have been treated properly with antibiotics at that time. But no, it took me and him missing multiple days of school and work for him to be diagnosed properly. Maybe because it happened to be superbowl sunday and they were too tied up with who was winning to properly treat my son. I wouldnt recommend coming here as they are half ass and only interested in getting people out the door to do their jobs right. My son dealt with severe throat pain for 3 days because of their negligence and misdiagnosis. Thankfully now but no thanks to them he has received the care he needed. This place is not a reliable source. I just wonder how many times in the past were we all misdiagnosed.

Insane bills and itemized list not documented well. One should not advocate such behavior and I will not go there anymore.

My mother had an outpatient procedure done at this location and it was a disaster. After she was weaned off the propofol. She started to have severe localized pain as a result of her procedure in which Dr. Lebel did nothing to help the pain just ordered her nausea medication which just further added to her nauseous state. He discharged although she had severe pain and sent her to the ER where we waited a total of 8 hours to be told there was nothing wrong and given more nausea medication. When I called to request pain medication from the on call doctor his suggestion was to bring her back to the hospital where all they would do is give her the same medications. Terrible nurses even worse doctors. Just a reflection of the education system in this state which is ranked #50.
