Jeremy was wonderful in helping me pick out 2 beautiful eyeglass frames. Dr. Threadgill did a thorough eye exam and discovered I have cataracts. She was honest and professional, and is referring me to an eye surgeon group. Now I have to get cataract surgery before buying glasses as I may not need them after that. I loved the frames we had picked out, so I may at least get one of them for unprescription sunglasses. I highly recommend this JC Penny optical group for all of your eye exams, and eyeglass needs.

Dr. Threadgill is AMAZING! She’s extremely kind, professional and patient. I just had an appointment, along with our 4 children (ages 5-14), and I couldn’t be more pleased. She is very thorough and informative. Jeremy and Chris are also patient and kind. I’m so pleased with our experience. Seriously, if you need an eye exam and/or glasses you HAVE to come here! The prices were also reasonable. No upselling. They give you the information and don’t push you to buy the most expensive product. As an Ophthalmologist Technician, I’m picky about who we see. This is a wonderful place and I truly have no complaints. If I could rate higher I totally would!

**Updated**Jeremy saved the day!! He kindly replaced my frames that the dog destroyed and put my old lenses in the new frames within 20 mins. I’m so grateful as I didn’t have a backup! Thank you, Jeremy!! You are awesome!!Good deals on cheap frames and lenses. Staff is a hit or miss with friendliness but mostly a good experience.

I went to the Haywood Mall looking for glasses. I didnt expect to find anything in JCPenney Optical, but Jeremy was very helpful and providing feedback on the sorts of glasses that would work with my face shape. When I came back later to order the glasses he continued to be very helpful and kind. To date, this has been my most positive experience glasses shopping.

Dr Threadgill is very thorough. My son and I see her and love her. When my mother was here from out of town and was having trouble she saw her that day and worked very hard to diagnosis her issues. She then sent her to a specialist and followed up to make sure she was doing better. We could not have asked for better care. The optical staff can get busy but are very professional and friendly. They have always provided us with excellent service with both glasses and contacts.

I bought my glasses here at JCPenney 10 years ago. I still wear them every day! Ive been bringing them back to the store for adjustments a few times a year and the staff is always very friendly, courteous, and helpful, even though Im not buying anything. I see some bad reviews about Jeremy, and I understand where they are coming from, but I think that its more likely a lack of extra personnel thats the problem. He takes his time with people and doesnt rush them. When I come in he is not dismissive. He helps me until Im done. And sometimes that means that the person that comes in after me has to wait three minutes. Big deal. When I come in and hes fitting someone else for glasses, I expect to wait until hes done with them, and Im okay with that.

Went to another place. They gave me a hassle with my insurance. Wanted to charge me $50 then last time for just lens and using current frames. Jeremy was awesome superb customer service. No gimmicks or hassle. Got new frames and lens for less then other place. Was in and out in less then 10 minutes. Glasses were ready a week early.

I called to make an appointment and was put on hold by Jeremy for 10 minutes. I finally hung up. Called back and spoke with someone else who said he would have Jeremy call right back. Waited about 2 hours and never got a call back so called again. Was told Jeremy went to lunch and would have him call me back. Still no call back from Jeremy so I guess with this kind of customer service I will shop around for another eye doctor. This is no way to run a business .

My glasses broke yesterday, and I have really bad vision, so I was anxious to find a place that would be able to deliver quickly and would be relatively inexpensive, as I am a college student, paying out of pocket. I chose JC Penney because they would be able to express my order, and because of the $99/2 pairs they were running during November.I would just like to say that I found the $99 dollar deal a little deceptive. I ended up spending about $175 for the glasses (not including the eye exam, the 1 year glasses insurance, or the cost for having them expressed). First, the lady told me that I would need polycarbonate (?) lenses, which were an extra $35 a pair, because my prescription was so strong that I would probably find normal, plastic lenses too heavy to be comfortable for everyday wear. It made sense to me. I decided to pay for the polycarbonate in only one pair, since the second pair was more of a fun pair for me, and I didnt expect to be wearing them everyday. The sales lady wasnt particularly happy with that, but she got over it. Then she goes to ring me up, and even with everything, Im astounded that the price is so high. When I ask about it, she explains that since my prescription is so strong, I have to pay an additional fee (about $15 or so) for each of the glasses. At this point Im starting to wonder if it might be better for me to buy just one pair of glasses...nope. I would have to pay full price for the frames (about $120) PLUS the full cost of the lenses PLUS the extra fee for my strong prescription...it would have ended up costing the same, if not more, which I find a little ridiculous.I still gave it a good rating because I think my glasses are cute, and I dont think the prices would have been unreasonable if I had been able to wait until my insurance would cover some of it in January. However, if the Walmart Vision Center had been willing to rush my order, I probably would have bought from them instead. Once I actually get my glasses, I may change my rating if they are exceptionally good or bad. Also, this may just be a pet peeve of mine...but the whole time I was trying on glasses, the saleswoman hovered behind me and kept giving me glasses to try on that were too expensive to be eligible for the $99/2 pair deal, which made the process take a lot longer than absolutely necessary.

Wish I could give zero stars. I agree why have a phone if you dont answer and when you finally get some one on the phone they are di sarcastic. Wont even schedule after being talked to that way.

If you have tons of free time to sit around and wait while Jeremy plays therapist to the person in front of you, this is the place for you. If you have places to go and things to do, go somewhere else.

Why have a phone number if you never answer it or call back when a message is left?
