I just wanted to say thanks for the wonderful service given me on my visit at American Best on Haywood Rd /Gallery Greenville SC.I usually get Tammy. She is always helpful with a willing spirit of just good customer service which is hard to find!! Every contact made from starting at the door with a gentleman, I think was the manager, was pleasant greeting you in the door for your visit. The young lady checking my vision was also very nice. Even the doctor was helpful and concerned and offered suggestions.I apologized for not getting names. It was just a good customer service experience where you will continue to go back.

They are getting one star because it is the lowest rating I can give. Went to the Haywood Rd. location today to get a broken nose pad replaced on my sons glasses. The associate who helped us, was more concerned about two of us entering the business than he was listening to what I was trying to tell him. I was told that only ONE of us was permitted inside - and he just repeated it - as I was trying to say that my son has autism. I had to leave. I stood on the sidewalk outside. Two other groups entered after us and were permitted to stay. One was a wheelchair bound person being assisted by someone and the other was a mother and daughter of the same race as the associate I had the problem with. So, what I believe to be a case of simply not listening to me suddenly takes the tone of insensitivity. The store manager did come outside to speak to me and still didnt seem to understand the issue. I also called corporate to complain and their question was, How old is your son? Does age matter when it comes to a disability? I told them all that sensitivity training might be a good idea. Just because a disability doesnt come with a physical impairment doesnt make it less of a disability with a different set of rules. I also understand the covid restrictions - and need to add that we were both fully masked and fully vaccinated.

This America’s Best has taken me over the edge with not only their customer service but fulfilling orders in an appropriate time. It is now August and I have been waiting for TRIAL contacts for over 6 Months. When I call, they hang up on me when inside customers enter, and I can never get a definitive answer. They have sent my contacts back to the distributor TWICE because they have told me I was the one supposed to call and ask them if they are ready, when they confirmed they would be calling me. Everytime I call they have been sent back or not at the store. I am so done with this company as a whole. Do not waste your money or your time. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!

The staff was amazing! So very friendly. Gave me a complete medical exam at the door for free! Even gave me the proper mask. Harold has save my butt a couple times and Kristen was an absolute delight!! Brenda even showed me how to wear my mask properly so my glasses wouldn’t fog up!!! Tammy just loves life!

Very friendly and very helpful! All the staff were so nice, Lily and Elaine really helped me out find the best frames! I cant wait to pick up my order when they are done!The COVID precautions were also perfect to minimize contact with other people touching the same frames.

I work 12 hr swing shifts had an appointment yesterday at 1:45 I got off work at 8am had to go back in at 7:30 pm . The guy comes up and ask if I could wait until after lunch the dr was late . I told him its already after lunch then he said well around 2:45 and said I promise it wont take long . I told him my work schedule and was told to come back today at 2:45 so I did went in stood there for a few then he told me to sit down and he would come get me I waited 20 min while he kept seeing people that just walked in with no appointment so I left went to Wal-Mart eye center no problems. I will never go back to Americas worst

They will book you an appointment without telling you that they require a mask, regardless of your medical issues. (Completely wasted my time.) Once you get there, give you a card to call the national vision health and safety office without any clear instruction on what to do about your appointment. I had to call 3 times to get someone to tell me the truth. Finally, Elaine was honest enough to tell me that the doctors simply refuse to see anyone that doesnt wear a mask. Even though theyre wearing one thats supposed to protect them. Meanwhile, everyone is sharing pens and touching the same desks, etc. Americas Worst Idiots need a sanitation class. JC Penny employs doctors with good common and medical sense. I highly recommend them.

While picking my new pair of glasses, Kristen also took the time to explain how my insurance worked, what was covered, what wasnt, and by how much, making me more knowledgeable about how my insurance works.I appreciate how she took her time and was patience with me as I made my selection. Everyone was super helpful and friendly. They had some call outs and was short handed and they still did a fantastic job. Even though they was short handed they made sure to give each patient the care and ample time needed to be taken care of. They answered any and all questions. I highly recommend that you go somewhere else. The contactless sign in that you do online is a lie. They still make you fill out a paper when you arrive and everyone uses the same pen. I will not be coming back here with my son or for myself. The man upfront tried to make it seem like I was being unreasonable and that made it worse. DO NOT GO HERE

Really impressed with this store and its friendly staff! They addressed all my questions with kindness and patience. I even messed up applying my insurance, and they helped me sort that out without complaint, though Im sure it made more work for them when they were already so busy. Their COVID precautions are impressive, too. Great value, and I love my new glasses!

This store has the best associates. Good customer service seems so rare these days and from the time I walked into the store until I left I was cared for and helped way beyond expectation. The staff even remembered me from a previous visit several months ago and asked specifically about me. I have now seen two different doctors at this location and both were very attentive and informative. I will continue to choose this Americas Best location for sure!

The staff is not very friendly, and they had too many people in the store. I went to pick up my new contacts and I didnt get a starter kit with my contacts. To top it off I didnt put on the contracts in the store or go back to see the doctor to see if we chose the right prescription.. this is the worst eye glass/contact experience Ive had.

Unprofessional and rude. I had my appointment months ago. Decided never to come to this location again. Had a 4 clock appointment was there until they closed also was charged extra because the person that help me didnt know how to put the information correctly in the system. Today I call to get my prescription due them closing in 6 minutes someone answered the phone place me on hold until it was time for them to close picked up the phone and hung up on me. I wouldnt be so upset if they would have acknowledged they were busy and I should call back tomorrow. Customer service goes along way and they dont have any

All the staff members here are very kind, they are helpful, and they are willing to do anything that they can to help you figure out your best fit. They even will answer any questions or concerns that you may have in a way that you are able to understand it. I love how the staff here seems to be like a team. You can tell they see each other as a family , because they all have this one mission to serve there customers with the best eye care that they are able to give. They work together to do execute this mission effectively. You can tell that everyone is being treated this way when you walk in and see smiles on peoples faces. You can even see empathy in the eyes of many in response to the warm kindness that each person recieved. In Addition, they practice safety measures throughout the campus to prevent Covid-19. is given I am so happy I ended up going to this location and I had a great time, and learned ton. I first went to this store on Jan. 8 and it is now Feb.10 and I still dont have my glasses and dont know where they are. I will never use this store again and DO Not recommend them.I previously wrote a good review but am now editing it. I was promised by the manager I would get them and who knows where they are. Was told again today they would check and return my call but still no call.DO NOT use this place for glasses.

Horrible customer service. Waited on hour on hold ,only to be hung up on immediately once the employee finally picked up. When I called back, the manager harold answered and seemed genuinely concerned about my problem. Made an appointment the very next day for me, and promised to personally help me out. At the scheduled appointment I was treated by him as a brand new patient. Didnt know me from anyone. 30 minutes later, still waiting to see the doc.

Super helpful staff. I came in on New Years Eve. Two associates, Harold Nash & Michelle Talley, had to stay over to help me with a billing issue. They were so patient, especially for a holiday. Michelle was able to find the solution to my issue, & though my problem was time-consuming, she had a great attitude.Every employee there at my arrival was so friendly.

I scheduled a appointment a week out. The receptionist never put in it their system. When I walk in I was told to sit and wait to see if someone would cancel. Mad house, the workers can not keep up with the patient load. Definitely do not recommend.

Devon was competent, professional, and personable. He did an excellent job of handling my post exam debrief. But more importantly, he was kind and considerate, both to me and to his coworkers in a way that extended beyond any normal expectations I have. My daughter had an appt and I was called and told my contacts were ready to pick up. When we walked in we were treated like we were not supposed to be there and they were inconvenienced to have to get up and come over to their makeshift covid table. The gentleman asked why are you here, my daughter spoke and said she had an appointment, he immediately cut her off and told me I needed to go outside to wait on my daughter. I asked him if it was ok that I pick up my contacts that they called and said were ready to pick up. By the look on his face, this inconvenienced him more. My Dr. Had said she was going to order me 2 types of lenses to try. One was more expensive and would take 3 weeks and in the meantime I could try a less expensive one.When the older lady opened my two envelopes to verify, she said she was confused why there were 2 of the same. I told her what the Dr had planned. She left and came back and said the expensive pair were never ordered and they will order today. I asked to speak to the Dr or a manager because I had already waited 3 weeks. After going through the whole story again with a different Dr., he looked at my envelopes with the contacts and said they were CORRECT. The lady that had helped me didnt know how to read the labels!!!! 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️........They book themselves so full that its like herding cattle. There is a definite disconnect when it comes to being able to talk and communicate to staff. The front line customer service people have the largest impact on a patients visit. Im not sure these guys understand that.

I drove from Asheville, NC to make an appointment at the Greenville store. I actually misread my appointment and was late by 45 minutes. Instead of turning me away, Harold put a plan together for me to fill out paperwork and pre select some frames ahead of time. He then said to come back in an hour and they would work me in. Each person I dealt with from the appointment on was very positive and very helpful. Thank you Harold forgoing the extra mile.

Very disappointed. Only able to find ONE pair of frames that would fit in the entire store. Shortly after getting the call they had arrived, I found out that they were not what I had ordered at all. I was then told to wait another two weeks for the correct frames to come in with my prescription that I ordered initially. Only to find out later that day that my prescription does not fit into said frame.Once returning to the store for the 3rd time I was greeted by a receptionist with an attitude, who nicely acknowledged the man who came in behind me. After trying on every frame possible, I was told the kind of frames I like are only made for people with “VERY wide heads.” (Which unfortunately I have.)That’s when I decided to just take my business elsewhere and asked for a refund. This is where I was made aware that I was charged for an exam that they knew my insurance would not cover, after asking for only the exams insurance will cover. (Exams are not refundable)

This is an amazing team we have had the best experience since day one. They have made this an awesome experience for my daughter. This is the first time that she’s ever worn glasses in her life and they gave her the confidence that she needed. The tech assistant was very nice, and their COVID protocol gets five out of five stars. However, the optometrist rushed me through and did my vision exam in two minutes! This is unacceptable! I went here only for an eye exam, so thats why they receive one out of five stars. Do not go here! Unprofessional.

Exceptional Service!In times such as this many are high stressed and unpleasant, That is one thing i can not say about this location. There customer service surpassed Chic-fil-a. This is my new favorite eye care establishment. I recommend this location. Same day service, In and out in a little over an hour and they where busy. A bright smile and ginuwine willingness to help. SKIP THIS PLACE!! They have the worst customer service. I called them at 6:30, they close at 7, a lady answered saying she would be right with me, placed me on hold, and LEFT ME ON HOLD FOR OVER TWO HOURS. I went to sleep on the phone and woke up still on hold. Who clocks out and leaves a paying customer of 7 years ON HOLD?!?! They have definitely lost my business.

Awful. The showroom staff was kind enough, but the doctor I saw was terrible. Dismissed all of my concerns, rushed me and when I told her things were still blurry during the exam she said well its just far away. Unprofessional and just plain bad. My prescription is completely incorrect, my vision is worse now wearing the new glasses. How this woman has a job is beyond me.

Well, I had my screaming toddler with me and I was about to lose it as I waited but as soon as I went in with the technician, Angel, she calmed me down and was very understanding and compassionate about my situation. Who can find a sitter when their baby breaks their glasses, anyway? The doctor was also kind and patient but the standout was the optician, Tammy. She truly made our day with thekindness she showed.

I can be pretty indifferent/indecisive, but these ladies made sure I felt comfortable and reassured me before I left I was looking cute and fly! This corporation deals in bait-&-switch tactics as well as fraudulent billing for insurance. They offer 2 pair of single focal lens glasses for $69. Their price list shows lined bifocal lenses for $99. They continually upsell to put you into no-line and progressive glasses. But rather than being the prices in the sheet.. they say those prices are in addition to the $69 basic price. The price sheet does not state that anywhere. When ordering and using my insurance, the prices are very inflated and bear no resemblance to the advertised prices. It appears to me to be fraud. Be forewarned

After being closed for several months you would think they would be super nice and helpful..........sadly after finally getting back in for an eyeglass re-check the customer service of the man in charge was terrible!!! I left and said I would not be back. Didnt seem to bother him! My family and I have used them for over 10 years. Your company made me look for someone else. This location is busy, so I never go here if I expect a quick visit. I’ve been going here for a few years and I’m satisfied with their service and prices. I suggest researching their low volume hours to plan a smooth visit. Friday evenings I’ve found to be less busy.

Buying glasses is a time consuming and costly. This location has a plethora of options for every price point or budget. Staff is always smiling and patient and offers great advice when one has uncertainties about what looks good on you.Harold is a superb physician and his authenticity and passion for customer service should be the standard for every location! It had been a while since I had an eye check up, and needed new glasses, but figured I would give AB a chance. My wife made the appointment, everything went smoothly, everyone was nice, and doctor was great. They have a decent selection, honestly, for exam and everything, hard to beat the price. I would be giving them a 5 star review, but, my wife went in the next day, she didnt have an appointment though. Lady told her it would be over a week, before they had an opening. She didnt bring up anything on the computer, or look at anything, just told her that. I went online after she told me that, and went to the schedule appointment tab, they had an opening 3 days later. So that lady was either lazy, or just didnt know what she was doing. My wife went elsewhere to get her exam.... So obviously they have some great staff, and some terrible staff, which would explain the mixed reviews for this location.

HIPPA is out the door at this establishment. Instead of asking for your license like a professional to confirm your address, they say it aloud, along with your phone number and prescription strength! No one is cross trained so youre waiting longer than you really have too! If and when someone decides to kick it into gear. Go to a more professional environment in Greenville. This place use to be a nightmare and the staff was rude and unprofessional, but over the last couple years they hired a new manager and all new better staff. I was there today and The store was really busy but every one was smiling and the manager was helping I was in and out in less than twenty minutes with 5 people ahead of me. The last several times I have been In there I have been really happy with my experience the staff has been helpful and knowledgeable. Keep up the great work America’s best and I love my new glasses!

I went in a week ago for my exam, everyone was friendly and very personable. The opthamologist explained his findings to me and why he was prescribing what he was... My glasses came in just 5 days! When i put them on my eyes went all kinds of crazy and the manager personally came out to explain why i was seeing how i was and did a quick exam to make sure everything was right. I felt extremely comfortable and was treated amazingly. Prices are very fair! Will definitely recommend.

Just went in today so I cant say anything yet about how long it takes to receive the glasses but I was completely pleased with my experience! I was running quite a bit late and when I called to move my appointment they were very friendly and accommodating. I went specifically for the 2 pairs of eyeglass/free eye exam special and that is what I got. I was offered upgrades but got no attitude at all when I declined and they even offered to mail my glasses to me when they came in because I live an hour away. Everyone was really nice and I was really surprised at the amount of frames you can choose from, even for the $70 special! ,

Purchased 2 pair of glasses 11-27-18. 1 frame has broken at side hinge. Per store no warranty on frames, suggested I take to jeweler for possible repair. Frames are only 2 months old and used for reading, not constant wear. I feel they should have held up better or store should repair.

I had a very pleasant experience at Americas Best. Everyone was extremely friendly. I felt no pressure to upgrade to a more expensive anything. It was $69.00 as advertised + tax. Thats it. I will pick up my 2 pairs of really cute glasses in 7-10 days as they have no lab on site. Compared to other prices its worth the wait! I almost didnt go because of other reviews but Im glad I did!

I am 40 and getting glasses for the first time. I did have to wait to see the DR when I had a scheduled appointment but everyone was nice while I was waiting. The DR and staff were all really nice. The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is because of the turn around time on the glasses. I have waited a week and they are not sure if they will even be in this week. Could be beginning of next week. Since I am new to glasses I do not have an existing set I can use to see while I wait. There should be a way to do a rush order or just reduce turn-around times in general. ***Hoping to be able to see soon. :)

The manager Harold was very helpful. I went to replace my frames only to find out the store didnt carry them anymore. I was a little disappointed but there was nothing I could do. So i went on the search for a new frame. Harold saw that I picked another style similar to the original ones, unbeknownst to me he located my frames from a different store. I walked out a very happy customer.

Scheduled an eye exam at Americas Best as it was the only place that could see me in a timely manner after my glasses broke. The online scheduling was a breeze. Although I was a little deterred by the negative reviews, I went though with the exam. The doctor was fantastic and did an excellent comprehensive exam. I did not purchase glasses here, but the overall experience was great.I suppose many of negative reviews are due to people not getting the advertised rate on the glasses. You must remember that purchasing glasses and doctor eye exams are two separate entities. The receptionist was a little terse, but the doctor was great. If youre looking for a wonderful eye exam in a pinch try here. If your looking for the 2 glasses for 69.99, remember there are terms and conditions to such a deal.

I have been using Americas best for ten years. I decided to come to greenville after hearing about how much faster they were at this location. My sons just needed glasses. I already had their prescriptions. I told the lady at the desk that I had insurance for both of them. I waited an hour and when we went to order their glasses they were trying to charge me without using my insurance. I had questions about my coverage so the manager was brought in. He was very condescending. I them decided to purchase insurance for their glasses and I was told it was too late to get it for their glasses. I will NEVER go back to ANY Americas best locations. A ten year long customer and Im done. I no longer recommend this company to anyone. I only gave it a star because thats the only way I could write a review.

I went in as a returning customer but for contacts instead of eyeglasses. My appointment was for 11:20am. I showed up early as instructed & waited roughly an hour just to be seen. Because this was my first time getting contacts, I was required to take an instructional class on how to insert & remove them. After I finally finished with the exam, they told me that they might have to reschedule my class before they could give me contacts or that I would have to come back in a few hours because someone on the staff had to go to lunch. Really?? I booked my appointment two weeks in advance. At this point I had already been there about two hours & was getting fed up. I calmly told the staff that I had been there since around 11 & had other errands to run today & that I needed to do the “class” now. They agreed to have someone sit with me. It only took me about 10 minutes to successfully insert & remove the contacts, & I was then able to check out. Thankfully the manager was nice enough to offer me a few months of free contacts for the inconvenience but the experience in whole was ridiculous. Not sure if they overbooked patients which caused them to run behind, but it was extremely inconsiderate of my time & it’s a shame because I had already paid $100 for my 3 year membership with their eyecare club.

From the moment I enter the facility, I was greeted with professionalism. The staff to include the doctor were so friendly and took their time to explain everything to me. Ms. Renee in particular! I’ve visited both locations in Greenville and Simpsonville but this one has more options on frames.

After ONLY visiting Americas Best for the last six or seven years, Ive finally had my first and possibly last horrible experience. Ive had great service in other cities. Not this store. Ive probably spent thousands of dollars with AB but I may need to find a new company to spend my money with. Dont expect this store to follow through with what they say they will do. There doesnt seem to be any sort of accountability here.

Horrible customer service, I made an appointment online for 3:30 Saturday.I show up at 3 I get seen at four. I’m told to go and wait and someone will be right with me. 5:30 they tell me my insurance closed at 3 and that I would have to come back Monday or pay out of pocket. Call 930 am to try and handle the transaction over the phone they say they need me to come in and sign paperwork. 4 pm no greeting from anyone for the first 3 minutes.I find out they still have to call my insurance. In addition to them having told me to fill out the wrong section on Saturday so here it is 4:55 I’m still waiting to checkout on what should have been a simple transaction. All I wanted was a copy of my damn prescription.
