I started training with dave and his team at the beginning of 2020, and they completely changed my entire life around. I had no previous experience in working out, but they provided me with everything I needed. Their team was also always very accessible whenever I had a question in regards to meal prep or workouts. They helped me get to my dream body when I never thought it was possible. Everyone in the training center is also super cool and kind, and are genuinely there to help you achieve tour goals. Dave and his team are great, kind, and passionate people! This is definitely a place I recommend to anyone that is looking to achieve their fitness goals/journeys! 10/10 recommend!

If you are looking for a quality trainer who knows what they are doing and motivates you through every workout, stop looking and join Underground Fitness.I have been coming to Underground for the last 10 months and have had the best results I have ever had in the last 2 years of working out.I came in with a goal and when I was introduced to Dave, not only did he tell me what I needed to do he put together a plan for me and made sure I executed the plan. 10 months later I have seen results I have never seen before. Underground Fitness is a great gym! I signed up for the 9 week program and it was exactly what I needed. They focus not only on getting physically fit but working on the mind and spirit as well. The owner Dave set me up with his custom system that helped to hold me accountable to goals that I set for myself. He also set me up on a meal plan that is simple and has been a game changer for me. The trainer CJ is extremely knowledgeable in all facets of strength training whether you are looking to drop 100 pounds or bulk up and put on muscle mass.Overall I would highly suggest checking this place out. You will not be disappointed!

TLDR; signing up for the 9-week transformation was hands down one of the best decisions Ive made for myself in quite a while. They give you the tools to bet on yourself, and win.I had attempted to lose the 25-30lbs id put on for ~2-2.5 years with zero traction. I would start enthusiastically, and when I didnt see ANY results, Id either give up completely or take my foot off the gas considerably. Then wash. rinse. repeat. I was completely hopeless and frustrated with my self and my life.Enter underground fitness.I left my initial consultation with Dave feeling almost giddy (and. dont use that phrase lightly). Everything he said just clicked - for the 1st time in a long time, it felt not only possible but likely that I would be able lose the weight.And 9+ weeks in that feeling hasnt gone away. Thanks to Dave and my Trainer Tripp (honestly one of the most knowledgeable trainers ive ever met), and despite my newly discovered hypothyroidism, Ive lost 3 inches off my waist, I have the confidence to take pictures with my family/niece and even been able to bring a few items of clothing out of retirement! And all this was possible without being forced to eat salads or protein shakes all day.Dave taught me how to be accountable for myself and my food. If I want dessert, and make sure I have it budgeted into my daily calories and I eat that dessert. He genuinely cares about his clients and his only goal is for your to reach your goals, and in the process teach you how to eat for the rest of your life. Honestly, could have easily gotten double the money out of me for the following 9 weeks program but because I was doing well with my nutrition, he moved me to a less hands-on 9-week program.And frankly, Just knowing that I know how to lose the weight and keep it off and that I wont have to deal with this issue again is pretty mind-boggling.

I’ve always considered myself a fairly healthy guy. I played sports all my life and have always been an active person. In my younger years, I depended on my youth and metabolism to keep me in shape. I ate how I wanted and never really tipped the scale too bad, but in December 2010, I found myself married to my high school sweetheart, and 230 lbs and I’m only 5’6”. That was literally the heaviest I had been in my life at the time. I walked into a gym in Farmington, Missouri and ran into a very energetic guy. I spoke with him about training and getting in shape. His name of course was Dave Bess. I had the luxury of being his first client EVER…lol. Needless to say the results were amazing. I went from 230 lbs to 193 lbs in matter of 16 weeks. No fancy diets, just hard work and dedication. So, fast forward 11 years, and wife and 2 kids later, I sat at 228 lbs and not knowing how to get out of it. As an ex athlete, working out is easy for me. But whenever I started, everything else in my life became unbalanced, which led me back to doing what was easiest, just making it through the days. I wasn’t built bad but I just needed guidance. How do you balance it all? How can you balance being a Christian man, husband, father, career, and self care all at once. As a father I wanted to show my wife and kids a good example of a man who could have it together spiritually, mentally, and physically. I also suffered with thoughts that’s my health was in jeopardy any way. My father, and both of his brothers all died at early ages from prostate cancer. My grandfather who passed less than a week ago also had prostate cancer. So obviously you get a feeling that your future is doomed. I was in a frustrated dark place when it came to the wellness of my family and myself. Eight weeks ago I sat on the couch scrolling facebook and I saw a live video from Dave and he asked “What trips you up when starting a plan?” I commented on the post, but I didn’t expect it to go any further. Out of the blue I received a FB message from Dave asking if I wanted to get together on a zoom a chat. I agreed. We discussed not just weight loss but we discussed life and all the important pieces of that make it worth living. He laid out a plan. It was not just about working out but, it included time for spiritual walk, time with my wife and kids as well. It was a wellness plan, not just a workout plan. Before starting the transformation plan I had no discipline at all. I didn’t realize the importance of planning your health walk the same way you plan on your job. It helped me to get all of the pieces to the puzzle and finally put them together. In just 8 short weeks I’ve come down from 226 lbs to 202 lbs, and I even have my family on board with me. I have seen changes in I my physique that I haven’t seen in a long time. The meal plan is not strict but it does involve making better choices as you should in life. Dave and I speak on a weekly basis and the topic of discussion is “How do you feel?” Its not just about body gains and workouts. I would definitely recommend the 63 day transformation to anybody that needs the total package of achieving results and learning how to do it properly. I plan to eat and live this way the rest of my life. At this point in my journey I feel as if all the pieces of me are coming together. My family and I are opening other areas of interest with each other. Health and wellness is becoming a natural part of our lives. Thanks to Dave Bess for a second time!!!

I am so glad my chiropractor recommended UF and trainer Jon D to me about a year ago, saying I needed core strength to keep from continually throwing out my lower back, which I had been dealing with for decades. I am especially thankful to Jon, who has been the perfect trainer for me, always friendly, motivating with kindness and respect, and never overbearing. Through Jon’s expert guidance and personalized plans, I was able to make surprisingly quick progress toward my objectives of eliminating the lower back issues plus gaining overall strength, endurance and definition. In my early 60’s, I am so happy to be in the best shape of my life, and I plan to continue with Jon at UF indefinitely!

This place is amazing! I spent many years at the big box gyms hitting the same ten machines and not showing much progress. Owner Dave and trainer CJ are amazing and genuine people. They have helped tremendously showcasing their immense knowledge and passion for moving weights. I have also gained a working day to day knowledge about choosing the right foods and setting goals to keep those pounds off. Try Underground out and prove me wrong.

I cant say enough great things about UF and the trainers (Trisha is the best :-)), I am here to write another review. Thanks to her unrelenting focus on clients health and well being, I have successfully completed another Rim to Rim (North Rim to South Rim) Hike at Grand Canyon. I couldnt even walk up my stairs a couple of years ago and I have already finished 2 hikes at Grand Canyon and conquered Humphreys Peak - Thanks to all those brutal but effective leg days.Thank you Trisha and everyone at UF. You guys change lives :-).

It has been 2yrs since I have joined Underground and its been a blessing. I am one of the lucky ones in the gym. I can honestly say that I have had the opportunity of working with all the trainers in the gym, even the new kid Jake or Jake the Fake as he is known. The nicknames come from Big Dave, dont ask just go with it and have fun.I have had Jake the Fake train me now for a couple months ever since he came to Underground. I see Jake once a week at least and I still see my main man Big Dave. From my first workout with Jake he pushed me hard and he continues to push me to my limits every session. Ill be doing a set with Jake and I can see and hear Big Dave from across the room in amazement and dropping the S bomb a time or two. Jake is very good at what he does and explaining things and showing you. Especially with body sculpting moves.As a Flight Attendant with a crazy schedule, half the time I dont know if I am coming or going. They are so great working with my crazy schedule Not only do they put me through a workout but they have put me on a diet. Teaching me how not only to eat right but how to meal prep each week. Learning how to meal prep has saved me money in the long run. I am still able to add the foods I enjoy like a Pop tart from time to time.All trainers at Underground are the best of the best and they are unique in their own ways. If you ask me who is the best I will always say Big Dave, he is my main trainer and I also consider one of my best friends. If you ask me who is second best well I couldnt tell you since they all are great.

As somebody who had never lifted before, I needed some place with an experienced staff that could work with me and guild me through a lifting and nutrition program. Over the years I’ve worked both with Dave and Jake who both really understand the science of lifting and eating that’s needed to fully develop muscle. Since starting I’ve added more than 25 pounds of muscle and completely changed my physique. Also since starting I’ve entered two bodybuilding competitions, winning one! Underground Fitness is great! Its the perfect spot for those who dont like going to gyms, or those who dont know what to do at the gym. Each one of the trainers has their own style of training and each style works in its own way, no matter who you are or what youre looking to work on. They help you track what you eat so that you are able to take full advantage of the membership. The trainers are very personable, making everyone they work out with feel like they are a friend and belong at the facility. Dave is great at focusing on specific muscles during a routine and helping build muscle. Trisha is the best at working on your mobility, not using a lot of weight but focusing on movements and flexibility.

I have been training at Underground Fitness for 2 years now, I train with Jon and it has been a great experience. Jon has a very unique motivational style that took some time getting used to at first, but when I did, I hit my stride and never looked back. I have made a tremendous amount of progress under his stewardship, he is extremely knowledgeable and always goes the extra mile. There is a big focus from the team on aligning the training with nutrition and all trainers are very knowledge in this area.The overall Underground team is great to; very friendly, motivating, not pretentious in anyway, great place to workout. I’ve been coming here off and on for a couple of years and I absolutely love it! I was referred to by my uncle who spoke so highly of this place so I tried it out. I was super annoyed at the thought of working out and didn’t want to go at first but after getting into a routine with Trisha I now make it a point to come at least once a week. I have never worked out before and after 7 months postpartum, I decided to get back into shape. Being in the gym is completely out of my element. Seeing those machines and weights are pretty much intimidating for me. So I was looking for a more intimate set up and a more personal approach. So I gave underground fitness a try. I must admit I was scared with my first consultation with Alec. On the contrary he was very welcoming, I explained to him my current state. Alec was very detailed with all his explanations as to how I can achieve my fitness goals. Alec has huge enthusiasm, he is really good with what he does and makes working out more enjoyable. Two months after, I am very pleased with how much weight I have lost and how my mind has changed just by embracing this new lifestyle. What an immense pleasure to have Alec as my trainer. I have been greatly enriched by his input, expertise and knowledge. If you are looking for an amazing place to work out, excellent trainers and willing to put in the work- give underground fitness a go. You will not regret it.

Underground Fitness and my coach, Jake, especially have been a wonderful source for reaching my fitness goals this Summer. Even 700 miles away in the state of Utah, Jake was present with me over the phone and text during the entire program! Not only was I constantly encouraged, but I was challenged in a way that made me want to excel toward my fitness goal. Jakes uplifting attitude and constant vigor to encourage and motivate me was greatly appreciated. I was stuck in such a rough patch in my life, I’d hardly eat more than a meal a day, or would mostly consume junk food, and would rarely work out. After getting out of a toxic relationship, I found underground fitness after looking through several gyms, and this one seemed the most genuine to me, which IT SURE WAS. One of the first things Dave told me during our first walk in meeting was “We don’t just want to transform you for 9 weeks, we want to help and provide you with knowledge that will benefit you for the rest of your life.” Everyone at the gym is so friendly, I felt absolutely no judgement from anyone there. Both Dave and Liz showed me so much kindness, and have helped me sooo so much. I highly recommend this place to anyone who’s looking for a lifestyle change with a happy, loving environment!

Let me start by saying I’ve been lifting for the past 20+ years. I’ve had my up and downs like everyone else. Some good consistent years and others sporadically. The past few years have been plagued with injury and poor eating habits. I finally broke down and said enough. I’ve had a few visits next door at Impact Physical Therapy (awesome place by the way) and saw people working out here and always thought it was a good place to train at. I met the owner Dave and scheduled the first workout with him, which is free by the way, and we went over nutrition and a full body workout assessment. We determined that with my schedule, it’d be best to set me up with Jake Page. I’ve been with Jake about three months now and I’m loving everyday I get to workout with him. He is knowledgeable and cares deeply for his clients wants and needs. I have been more sore (the good muscle sore) the past three months than I have ever been lifting on my own. Also, not only Jake, but everyone there at Underground is knowledgeable and happy to help the people there. You generally don’t find a business where the employees are happy and excited to be at work but they are here!

No words can really describe this place! Its not just another gym, not just another personal training studio. Here you will get results, results that you probably didnt know even existed! I train with Dave and Jake. They are both phenomenal and push you to strive to your ultimate goal! My ultimate goal was to get my life back and lose weight while doing it. So far 43 days in I have lost 25 lbs. You yourself have to want it ! Following the diet is top key to get what you want ! Ive gained muscle and lost fat . I started in a size 42 waist and for the first time yesterday I actually fit comfortably in a 38. Thats 2 sizes and 25lbs in 42 days. Going to the gym for an hour three times a week.This place and the trainers are priceless to me!! They go out of their way to help you reach your goals ! STRIVE NOW!!! My new physician suggested weight training as I had lost about 20% of my body mass due to a major gastrointestinal surgery.Underground fitness was a cross the drive so I walked in and met Alec Allen, liked the guy and decided to give it a try.Started in January, had knee replacement surgery in Feb. Then the real work began. I have lost 5% body fat, gain about 6.5% muscle mass.Alec, looks out for my knees, my low back (3 vertebrae fused) and has helped me transform my body to a much younger version. At 68 years young, the transformation is much more than I expected.Alec doesnt push, but challenges me to push myself, has quite a humor, and is really fun to work with.Originally I was 3 days a week with golf 4 days a week. But decided I had the energy, the drive and now work with Alec 5 days a week.ANYONE LOOKING TO GET INTO SHAPE, LOOKING TO TRANSFORM THEIR BODY SHAPE AND DIET, SHOULD SEE ALEC OR DAVE AT UNDER GROUND FITNESS. This place is amazing. I have a busy work schedule and was able to get into some group sessions. I have been going for a month now and let me say I am not one to work out alone. Ive been going to Underground Fitness for about 8 months now and Im never looking back! I was a little skeptical at first because I had never done personal training. My brother had been training with Trisha for quite some time and was constantly trying to get me to tag along. I decided to go for the first session with Trisha and Ive been going ever since then! Trisha is really knowledgeable about personal training and customizes her routines per person. But more importantly, she really pushes you to go one step further each time. Ive lost 20 pounds so far with the nutrition plan and the workouts and I dont plan on stopping now! Not just Trisha, but every other trainer as well really cares about personal training and they all want you to become the best version of yourself. Its truly a supportive and fun place to exercise! I cannot say enough good things about the team at Underground Fitness! I have had the good fortune of working with several of them over the last year and a half. Ive done one on one training several times a week, and love their group sessions as well! I recommend Alpha Hour!Dave has been great at helping me get my diet sorted out and directing me on a solid workout routine! Alec took the time to identify my specific wants and needs and built a regiment that has helped me achieve them!And when I injured my shoulder, Trisha adjusted my workouts to rehabilitate my shoulder while still working towards my overall goals.And Saturdays with Jake are great! Started training at underground with Dave and John. work out with a good group of guys. I look forward to coming into the gym everyday. The training techniques are fun and knowledgeable. Daves knowledge of nutrition has really helped me see a lot of progress. This has been a unique workout experience that I would definitely recommend to other people looking to get in shape. Dave even went above and beyond when he came to my house and showed me how to cook a healthy meal. The entire staff is great with people and you can really tell they care about the success of all of their clients.

Dave has always been positive and encouraging. He is an extremely knowledgeable personal trainer. I will continue to go to Underground Fitness, and recommend you do to. (I have also worked with Trisha and she is awesome too! This place rocks). I lost my mom (my only parent for 22 years) to a sudden stoke at 44 years old. I was her only child and I just graduated from college. I was completely lost in life and extremely depressed for the last 2.5 years and as a result of bad habits and lack of guidance, I gained a tremendous amount of weight (40lbs). I was very afraid to begin personal training because I can get “psyched out” easily if someone pushes me too hard. I also have an autoimmune disorder that flares up if I feel too much stress. Thus there was a lot of fear joining a gym. BUT I tried out Underground Fitness and took a leap of faith with Dave. It has been 8 weeks and I have lost 15 lbs, 2.25 inches in my belly and I feel physically and mentally stronger than ever.

I hired Dave Bess and Underground Fitness in February of 2016 and have experienced remarkable changes in my lifestyle and lost 55lbs in this time frame. I highly recommend Underground Fitness for anyone who is wanting to get in shape after having a baby! After having my second child, I lost all of my pregnancy weight on my own. However, my shape was dramatically different, and I was not filling out my clothes the way I liked. Hiring Dave Bess was the best decision I ever made! Dave set me up on a nutrition plan that allows me to eat the foods I like and still continue to lower my body fat. Using my individual nutrition plan and weight training plans, my body is transforming, and I’m feeling so much more confident.

I am a new member to Underground Fitness, and I must say I have never been so excited for my fitness and nutrition journey! I am not new to fitness, I have worked out my whole life and played college volleyball, but my body has stayed the same for as long as I can remember. I wanted a gym that would challenge me and push me to new limits. I went in for a consultation with Dave, and when I left I knew this was the place for me! Dave took the time to truly explain everything and in a way I would understand. Sometimes gyms and trainers can be intimating, but not underground fitness. When you go in , you will feel inspired and encouraged to push yourself In ways you didn’t know were possible. The best part, is the focus on nutrition. Not only are you getting a killer work out, but you’re learning how to eat and what is best for YOUR body! I have been training at Underground Fitness for 3 years. Before starting at the studio, I was very overwhelmed and nervous because I had never worked out before. From the first day I walked into the studio, I felt so welcomed and felt like a priority. Dave is in charge of my nutrition. His knowledge and approach to flexible dieting has created a lifestyle that I will continue to follow. I am able to eat and incorporate foods I love (Lucky Charms) while seeing great results! Everybody here was so kind and down to earth- I cant stand the typical atmosphere of most gyms with meatheads. When I walk in, I feel no judgement. Jon was super kind and professional and was willing to sit with me for a while and discuss my goals and how to reach them, and how we would reach them together. Very good experience!

Cant say enough about the team here at this Underground Fitness! Over the past year, I have gotten to know all of the trainers personally. Dave, Jake, John, & Trish are all extremely knowledgeable and great to work with. I struggled for years with chronic back pain and needed to get into shape for a Spartan Race. Dave was able to get my strength and conditioning on point for the race all while strengthening my back and core. I can happily say that after all these years of chronic back pain, I am almost pain free! You cant go wrong with the team here. They all really care about you as a person and for that hour that you train, they make you feel like the most important person in the world. :)

I’ve been working out at Underground Fitness in Glendale for about 1.5 years now, on and off. The first day I walked in Trisha was helping me and made me feel right at home as if I belonged there. She scheduled me with a trainer who would best fit my goal for building muscle. With my busy schedule I’m able to train at least two times a week, and I’m very grateful for all the trainers there. They are very competent and experienced in their own way which makes it the perfect gym. No matter what your needs are, you’ll be taken care of and you will reach your goals if you stay consistent, believe me. I recently went out of state for 3 months and I’ll tell you that it was not the same to workout at another gym. Something was missing and it was the trainers at UF. Now that I’m back it’s really amazing and the trainers made me feel like family. I would definitely recommend UF to everyone that wants to reach their fitness goals and wants to feel like they belong.

I have been working out at Underground for about 6 months now. I had lifted most of my life on my own. I never saw a trainer at my gyms that I felt could train me.. they all looked ridiculous and normally had their clients on treadmills as they checked their cell phones...It had been about 3 years since I worked out seriously, and I was really in bad shape. Apprehensively, I signed up for one on one training with John. This guy was really good... he asked about my diet and helped me put a plan together. Gave me a free app and held me accountable for what I put in my mouth.. He didnt just forget about it.. he wanted answers.. After a month of one on one I went over to group classes.Group was with Dave.. Dave is Underground Fitness Rock Star. This guy is AMAZING. He tweaked my diet further and really tied the mind/muscle connection together for me. The gains that I have had are just amazing. Being 52, I did not think this was possible. He has really motivated me to get back into this and stick to my diet. I have lost over 35 pounds and countless inches since I have started.Finally, I have worked with Trisha on Saturday mornings. We have concentrated on Core exercises... She gets it... she listens to what you are trying to achieve and gets you there. She is on Dave and Johns level... maybe even better.All of the trainers listen to what you are saying. They do not want you in pain or puking. They want you to succeed. My name is Dr Torsten Stein and I am the owner of Stein Chiropractic. I started going to underground fitness for the convenience: they are just across my office.But I quickly realized what a great place this is. Let me explain: I used to be a professional basketball player and know a thing or two about working out.But my 2 trainers (yes I do use Jon D. and David B.) on different days are working on the total package for me. They work on stabilizing my joints and specifically my spine and core as well as muscles in general. In addition they monitor my nutrition and help me build muscle.I now can do things that I couldnt do in decades. Thanks to their training I am more flexible, can now hike again and have way more energy than before. The absolute BEST personal training gym Ive ever been to. The trainers are incredibly knowledgeable, challenging, and time flexible. Ive had better results from attending the small group session 2-3 times a week, than when Ive attended 5 times a week at other gyms. I have never stepped inside of this place before, but its been life changing for me. My husband walked into underground fitness last March to kill time while I was getting a massage next door. He met Dave Bess, an amazing trainer at this location. He helped my husband set up a training and meal plan, but his commitment to my husband goes much further than that. They text each other everyday and my husband reports his successes and struggles. Dave is an encourager and motivator. He also likes to kick his ass during some sessions, especially when my husband tells him hes taking a cheat day or not following the plan during vacation time. My husband has tried exercise and diet things his whole life with minimal longterm results. He is learning skills and habits that will last a lifetime.Im writing this review today because together they set a plan last March for my husband to lose 50lbs by 50. He met his goal this week. Thats 3 months prior to his birthday.Underground Fitness and Dave Bess have been the most amazing blessing we ever could have prayed for. I am a busy Mom to a 10yr old daughter and 8 yr old triplet boys. I just completed my 225th work out at Underground Fitness, Glendale. Dave and Jon are amazing trainers and more importantly just great friendly guys. They always listen to my needs and they helped me achieve my fitness and nutrition goals after having my 4 kids! The trainers are always kind, and if they can tell youre struggling they wont push you to the point of exhaustion, but will modify it so you arent dying, but youre still doing a workout with the same effect. When they ask how youre eating, they also dont pull any of the generic Are you eating healthy? question, but focus on how youre eating and how you can improve. Overall they take good care of you and their other clients, and make sure you are able to lose weight, or become more muscular.

When I joined Underground Fitness 4 months ago I had no idea I could feel this good. I had trouble with balance, not anymore. I had trouble with core strength, not anymore. Ive been working with Kerry with online training for a little over 6 months. Cant tell you how incredibly relieved and happy I am to have her support and knowledge. Went from thinking I knew a lot about diet and exercise to actually learning to fit proper diet and weight training into my lifestyle. I still have a long ways to go but Im excited to have Underground Fitness along with me on this transformation/fitness journey. This place is great! I came in about a month ago looking to drop some lbs and get back into shape. In the first month Ive gone from 239lbs to 225lbs. Jon set me up with a great plan to meet my goals. The workouts are challenging but fun, and there is a nice variety to the exercises. I tend to get bored if Im doing the same workouts over and over, Ive been here a month and havent been bored yet! I cant say enough great things about Jon and the rest of the staff there!!

Underground has helped change my life! Before I started with my awesome trainer Dave at the studio early this year, I was a self-conscious, insecure guy. I would try to work out on my own and attempt one-off diets with no success. Hope of achieving my goals was slipping away. When I walked into the studio for the first time, I was warmly greeted and welcomed by the man who I would soon call my very own personal trainer, Dave Bess. Being a nursing student with a lot of schoolwork on my plate, Dave understood that I have a very busy schedule and was willing to meet my individualized needs. I have been going for over month now. My schedule is 2x a week with my trainer Jake. Jake is awesome. He makes the workouts fit me and he does challenge me. He has a tough client on his hand, since I have a bad lower back, Valley Fever, and fungal meningitis. Love that he reads up on my condition and figures out how to keep me activity, motivated, and get me back into shape. The gym has all the equipment you need to work out and it is a nice chilled atmosphere. Everyone there is super friendly!

I’ve been working out at Underground Fitness for about 5 months now and I LOVE it! All of the trainers are fantastic and incredibly friendly. I only have done sessions with Trisha - who is great and I would recommend to anyone - and yet all the other trainers know my name and greet me. It makes it feel more like working out with friends and it takes away the intimidation I’ve always felt towards private training. That said, they don’t go easy on you with the workout. They push you to be the best you can be while still taking in your fitness levels and safety into consideration. I definitely recommend Underground Fitness!

I started working with Dave Bess in October of 2014. I can honestly say it has been one of the best decisions Ive made in my life. I was going through a very rough patch in my life; I not only hated what I saw in the mirror, but I was an unhappy person with zero direction. Dave helped me find myself. I have worked with Trainer Dave Bess for 6 years. He has taught me how to work out smart and efficiently with effective results! His thought process on your diet is more about leading a lifestyle and allowing you to still enjoy the foods you like, while not over consuming. His approach in training is based off each individuals needs and wants and targets those specific areas.Dave has lead me to be a successful Boston Marathon Runner and 3x Ironman. I always had intentions to develop my physique and have tried reputed fitness centers, home gym etc but never was able to achieve consistency due to my health issues. Walked into this place last Sep as its very close to my house to see what they got. I never thought this guy Im about to meet will change my life, people call him Dave Bess but to me Dave the BEST. In just 3 months, my body was transformed to the best shape of my life. Dave guided me through every workout. He understands every persons strength and weakness and designs workout that would work effectively. With my poor lower back, I was able to workout every part of the muscle in my body without hurting myself....many times I felt I must be dreaming. Its an awesome feeling when people ask are you working out everyday man, but I do only 2 or 3 times a week here. The routines are dynamic that covers whole body and there is something beyond just training in this facility that makes me feel COMPLETE, only Dave would know the recipe.Last few weeks, Im working with Jake Page and this guy is about to steel Daves spot in my mind pretty soon. Jake knows the tactic, the muscle mind connection and certainly our own abilities. I cant imagine not going to UGF ever. He is very passionate in what he do and does it right. He always makes sure every muscle move is done right so we get the 100% results. Typically, the muscle tightness lasts for hours after workout but with Jake its pretty intact until next workout...feels amazing!Jon trains a lot of folks there and he is down to earth personality and an amazing trainer too.Im always in debt to Dave for his support and encouragement, without that I would be just a normal guy!!! David Bess and Underground Fitness gave me a reason to live again. I’m your average 59 year old male battling Parkinson’s. When I met David in the summer of 2013, I couldn’t walk up stairs to the gym where we trained daily. After twelve months, I was not only able to walk up the stairs for my training sessions, I was able to do full hour sessions training with Dave as he prepared for his National Show in Miami. When I walked into Underground Fitness almost 2 years ago I had no idea that I would meet a personal trainer named Jon Dudzinski and my life would soon forever be changed.After gaining a lot of weight and going through a depression, I tried exercising at home, going to the big gyms and doing it on my own. Not only did it not work but I pretty much gave up on everything and soon after I was told by my doctor that I was pre-diabetic and if I didnt do something soon that diabetes would become a reality, and that is something I refused to let happen.I walked into Underground Fitness in October of 2014 and after my first workout with Jon I knew this was the best decision I couldve made for myself!! I have dropped several sizes and the diabetes is no longer a major concern!! Jon has helped me get my self confidence back and I feel better than I have in years!!The workouts are personalized and the nutrition help has been amazing. While the workouts are tough, I dont feel pushed beyond my limits and I feel great and always look forward to the next one. I am able to do things that I never thought I would be able to do and I have not only changed physically but there have been amazing, positive changes in every aspect of my life. All of the trainers in the gym are very friendly and they all have a genuine concern for their clients.Jon is very encouraging and motivating and I cant help but look forward to my next workout! I destroyed my foot in early April so about a month ago I decided to seek a personal trainer to help with the rehabilitation--my goal is to get back onto a basketball court sooner rather than later. I looked at a few places in the area, but when I walked into Underground Fitness I knew I was in the right place--the vibe was right and the music was right, so I violated my own personal boycott on all businesses on Yam properties and signed up.I was hooked up with the rehab specialist, Trisha Thurston. Trisha is the real deal. This was perfect; some other people who work out here have nicknamed her the assassin and I had explicitly asked for a drill sergeant because when I was in high school I had worked out with a world-champion bodybuilder who, as I had said, had an assassins mentality towards workouts. Theres no use going for training if all you want is for the trainer to tell you that a light workout is just great. At the same time right now I have to be a little more careful, and Trisha gets that--which some other drill sergeants might not.Trisha has worked to strengthen the muscles around my foot, also around the other ankle (in which I tore a tendon some time ago), and to help me regain my balance on each foot. Shes really focused on my calves, glutes, hamstrings and hip flexors, and I feel better and stronger after each workout.I highly recommend both Underground Fitness and Trisha individually to all those who, like me, are in need of some help building back their strength after a major injury.

My body transformation with Dave Bess (my trainer) at Underground Fitness Arrowhead is like the infomercial’s you see on TV for P90X. I’m a 52 year old guy with a 40 hour a week desk job. My goal, before meeting Dave, was to avoid getting fat like most of my coworkers. I was doing cardio and some light weights 4 to 5 days a week just to maintain my weight and I was busting my butt. A friend of mine suggested meeting with Dave (for a free consultation) after working out with him for a few months. I could see the great results my friend was getting so I decided to give Dave a chance to see what he could do for me. I’m 6 feet 2 inches tall and weigh 230 pounds. I have been with Dave for 4 months now and I have packed on about 10 pounds of muscle and lost about 10 pounds of fat. My weight has stayed the same but I lost 2 inches on my waist. My old shirts are all very tight around my chest and arms. My arm (bicep/measurement) is 17.5 inches when rested for a few days (18+ when pumped from a workout). I work out with Dave 3 hours a week for 1 full hour each workout. Dave monitors my nutrition and has set me up with realistic nutrition targets (Macros: calories, carbs, protein and fat). I log everything I eat in an interactive app (on my phone). Dave has 24/7 remote access to my information and keeps me on target. The bottom line is I look and feel fantastic. I get complemented on my physique every day by people I know and sometimes even strangers. They ask me how I got in such great shape and I tell them about Dave. At 52 I’m in the best shape of my life thanks to Dave Bess and Underground Fitness. I would never have been able to achieve these results fumbling around in a gym on my own. I look forward to seeing how the next 4 months with Dave will impact my body.

I have been with UF from the past 1.5 years and I cant say enough good things about these guys.The whole vibe at UF is extremely encouraging and positive - thanks to all the trainers - Trisha, Jake, Dave, Jon (and the new guy) who make each session very much focussed on individual needs and at the same time, they are absolute fun -- intense but fun :-)Thanks to Trisha, I lost all those extra pounds I put on (working from home is really dangerous for the waistline :)) but most importantly, I gained strength, a bit of muscle (yayyy) and an understanding of how a correct posture can help enhancing the exercise routine. Did I say that Trisha is a stickler for correct posture :-D?The best part - I gained enough confidence to venture onto a single day Rim-River-Rim hike at Grand Canyon - not recommended by NPS and I wouldnt recommend unless you are extremely prepared well enough. I finished the whole hike in 14 hours and lived to tell the tale :)Without all those leg days , which I seriously dread even today, I couldnt have ventured onto this adventure. I guess all the “fitness” planets aligned right when I made the right decision , which is probably the best one so far with regards to leading a healthy life style.I started with 206 lbs in the month of November 2017 and could barely stay for 30 minutes during the first couple of sessions. As of today (Feb 27th, 2018) , I am at 182 lbs (bye bye 24 lbs) and I feel much stronger and healthier, thanks to my trainer Trisha. I cut down close to 3 inches of my waistline and shifted from wearing ‘Large’ shirts to ‘Medium’ size.Trisha has exceptional skill and understanding of different training techniques that suited exactly what I needed (loose weight + get strong :-)) and she genuinely cares about your overall well being. When I am at session, she constantly checks whether my form was good and continues to push me beyond what I thought I can do. She also ensures that I am eating enough to meet my calorie goals. She pushed me to achieve my target and I can’t wait to see what she has in store for me.And the other trainers in the facility are super nice too. I see both Dave and Jon almost everytime and they are awesome guys , who not only encourages the people they are working with but the rest of the teams training there. This is a place where you find people from different walks of life with different backgrounds but all working towards the same goal with each and every person from UF encouraging and assisting them in that journey.I am super glad that I found UF as I could never achieve what I did in a span of 3 months. I have been a member and client of UF for over 5 years. This group of trainers are not only very professional, but they truly get to know you and your body so they can create a fitness plan to meets YOUR needs. When I first started with Dave Bess, I had a very bad lower back. I could barely tie my shoes without sitting down. It took about a year, but slowly Dave helped me strengthen my lower back and core to a point that I am now able to do heavy squats, deadlifts, bent over rows and tie my shoes with any problems. Dave help changed the quality of my life 1000%. If you are serious about your fitness and want to have fun, then UF is the place for you!

This place is a life changer. Whether you are looking to bulk up, lean out, or anything in between, underground fitness is the place for you. All I can say is: If you do what they tell you, YOU WILL GET FIT. Ive tried working out on my own for years before I came here, but I never saw substantial results- especially in muscle gains. The thing is, I was never confident that what I was doing was correct. I had the drive to go to the gym and eat clean, but, like a LOT of people, I didnt really know what I was doing (whether or not I had proper form, was doing the right exercises, was eating the right foods at the right times, etc. I watched ALL kinds of youtube videos, read all kinds of articles, and there is just SO much conflicting information out there. Just pick a health/fitness related topic and put it into google, and youll see what Im talking about. Theres so many examples of this I wont even bother listing them. Anyways, I would get very discouraged because, on top of not seeing results, I didnt know what I was doing wrong. It was frustrating. Thankfully, I found underground fitness, and it has been life changing. Im finally seeing results and my strength has grown exponentially. Over the past year that Ive been coming here, Ive had the opportunity to work with or talk to pretty much all the trainers here (shout out to Jake the Snake, Big Dave, John, Alec, and the rest!) and I can honestly say that ALL of them KNOW. THEIR. STUFF. Its a BS free gym. They can tell you EXACTLY what you need or dont need to do to get in the best shape of your life. They make it simple for you. All you need to do is put in the effort. They are very professional yet personable/down to earth at the same time. On top of that, they have always been able to accomodate me according to my crazy schedule and were willing to work with me financially. Great environment too! Ive met alot of great and inspiring people here (trainers as well as other trainees) and everyone is so supportive. Give Underground fitness at Arrowhead a try. Im SURE you wont be dissappointed:)

The decision to come to Underground Fitness Arrowhead to help me meet my fitness goals was one of the best decisions I ever made. Training with Jon in just 4 months, Ive lost almost 7 inches in my waist and gained a new perspective into living an active and healthy lifestyle.Ive had experiences at other personal training studios where trainers are too textbook. Sessions become boring and repetitive which led to idle results that were met with finger pointing and intimidation instead of problem solving. You definitely wont find that here.Jon at Underground Fitness Arrowhead promotes an intimidation-free, vigorous, yet propitious workout environment. Along with being highly knowledgeable about fitness and nutrition, he is very observant and devotes himself to ensure that my fitness goals are met in a healthy and injury-free manner. In fact, hes noticed my posture problems and hamstring weakness that he has molded unique exercises to help me burn calories, gain muscle, and correct those problems all at the same time. He even designed convenient and simple stretches I could do at home to supplement those exercises.Jon also solved the biggest problem Ive had in trying to lose weight through the years: keeping a healthy nutrition plan constant and in check. He gave me certain calorie parameters and checks what Im eating on a weekly basis to keep me accountable. He takes the time to answer any questions about my eating habits. No judgement from him, ever. I finally learned to eat healthy without depriving myself. No looking back.Jon does a great job of keeping me motivated to continue on this fitness journey. If he sees something not working for me, in a blink of an eye, he comes up with an alternative thatll provide the same benefits. Hes always enthusiastic about my achievements. Sometimes I think hes more excited than I am. He truly demonstrates that this isnt just a job for him but a passion to improve his clients lives by helping them fulfill their goals in a positive setting.

My fiance and I decided to go to Underground Fitness to get into wedding shape. We chose UF due to a Groupon. It was a great decision! Weve been renewing for the last 4 months. Jon D is a great trainer. Im very experienced in working out and my fiance is not. Jon took the time to listen to our needs. I told him I dont want to lift weights as I want to focus on more body weight exercises. Also I have had 3 knee surgeries so I cant push my legs as hard. My fiance is brand new to strength training so Jon had to teach her the basics of form and movements. He was very patient and not pushy. He catered to our needs without pushing on a cookie cutter workout. He challenged me and my fiance. The workouts are never the same which is great! Jon takes feedback very well as some exercises really does hurt my knee so he didnt really push me to finish he would simple switch to another workout that doesnt put too much stress on my knee. My fiance and I have seen some weight loss but more our body leaning out and showing more definition.Overall UF has very friendly staff. All the trainers will say Hi to you. Its a small bare bones gym but they have enough knowledge and equipment to get the job done. I would give it a try regardless of your experience. As Ive learned a lot of new routines that kicked my butt!
