Being in the medical field as an RN and nurse practitioner, I’ve come across many doctors... Dr. Royer is hands down one of the best doctors I have ever met. Dr. Royer has excellent bedside manner and is phenomenal at what he does. If you have a foot and ankle injury or issue he is definitely the provider to see. Dr. Royer is an excellent surgeon and was able to remove the hardware (2 screws and a pin) from my ankle that was implanted several years before from a car accident. It took a couple surgeries which was spaced out over a four year interval. The first surgery was a very fast recovering and I was walking out of surgery with only the screws being taken out. The second and last surgery did take some time to recover from with the removal of the pin imbedded in the ankle which involved digging out and boring bone out of the ankle. And additionally doing clean up around the ankle/achilles areas to reduce swelling from the soft tissue damage. Unfortunately, that did require being in a cast and later a boot for a while. 12 months after the surgery, the recovery has changed my mobility. Before I would experience sharp pains from the hardware after only short walking distances, that is all gone now. And I am able to run again, and walk with no pain. Thank you Dr. Royer.
