I scheduled my sister here because of her eczema. She’s suffering from it for months, first she got it only on her hands, and now it spread throughout her neck, legs and different part of her body. The itch and burning sensation that she felt is unbearable. So I searched best dermatologist, read the reviews and make an appointment. Now, my sister and our family are both happy on the outcome. It’s only been a day but she didn’t feel any itch and burning sensation. We’re gonna come back there at the dermatologist after 3 weeks for her follow-up checkup. We had a great experienced! Would highly recommend it to all of the people that is in needed of a dermatologist.

It was my first visit at this office and the receptionist was very helpful. Since I didn’t use my insurance, she explained the costs for the consultation. Carla (medical asst) was easy to talk to. Dr. Lai explained the procedures and gave me options. I was very pleased with my experience at Berman Skin Institute of Fremont.

We saw Dr Olivia Lao and she was okay. She did not connected well with my wife in terms of listening her out. Office did claimed with my insurance and did not paid out of pocket until I have to call twice! Overall not a satisfactory experience.

Well I had originally given them five stars. However their follow-up with me as a patient was terrible, when my prescription never got to the pharmacy instead of helping me with that they wanted to bill me for another appointment. Also I have a pretty routine skin condition so its not that hard to just prescribe me something that works, but instead they prescribe me something that was a $75 copay that then my health and coverage did not want to cover it anymore so then when they gave me a new prescription it was never made available to me at the pharmacy despite repeated complaints on my part I still never got any medication. I have since decided to find somewhere else to get my skin care needs taken care of. Also if you cant make an appointment they charge you $100 anyway, and I just didnt like that policy.

I went to this place because it is rated 5 stars. The place is okay and clean. My doctor is Dr Olivia Lai and I have a very clear face after my treatment in Arizona just happens that we move here and for some reasons I needed another dermatologist to maintain my progress. She barely check my face during my visit she look at it and always says it’s “okay” when it’s not and I am telling her I’ve been having bad break outs with the new tretinoin she gave me because some brands and dosage won’t work on me because I have sensitive skin. She switch all the creams after my second visit. She always ask me if I want to try this and that. For the first place I went to a dermatologist to seek answers not experimenting options. I suggest to her that I just want the same medication my last dermatologist give me because it’s working and that is a certain cream and a certain brand. She said okay we will do that. When I went to the pharmacy I was right she didn’t take note of the brand and dosage and give me different creams. I am giving this 2 star because of my own experience with the Doctor. Everyone should get a doctor that will make decisions based on her observation and findings not based on experiments.
