My massage therapist is Jason. I have been the most happiest seeing Jason for my chronic back, hip, and neck issues. I had been going to physical therapists for years and when they gave up on me I decided to see a medical massage therapist. I am so glad I made the switch. I had seen other massage therapists but none met Jasons experience. I live with chronic back neck and hip pain and I tell him exactly what is bothering me the day I see him and he focuses on those areas. For me, there is no quick fix and there never will be. This is something I will have to deal with the rest of my life as it is chronic. However, because of my visits with Jason, my life is a lot more fuller and I dont worry as much about intolerable pain returning. The office is not like a spa, so dont go in expecting that. Quite frankly, it should not matter what a place looks like so long as you get a good quality product, in my opinion. I care more about the way I feel when I leave more than sitting in a spa-like environment. You are your own advocate so if some part of your body is tight or hurting or you would just like a relaxation type massage, you have to be upfront and vocal about it. You wont regret coming here.

Melisa does an excellent job. Her deep tissue massages are critical to keep my body relaxed and functioning the way it should be. I have sciatica pain and get a lot of tension in my lats and neck. She is able to work it out for me, and I feel brand new afterward.

I had an excellent massage from Jason. Communication was excellent before and during the massage and everyone here is very friendly. I highly recommend coming here if you have or want to prevent pain.Im updating my review because I have been a client now for a few months and have had several massages (I go pretty much every other week). I am extremely happy with the massages Ive gotten here and I can tell it is really helping me stay injury and pain free.Some comments: the facility is kept very clean. I suffer from allergies, and if a place is dusty or has mold, I react immediately. The rooms are kept neat, no dust, the bedding always smells clean without being perfumey. Jason is wonderful -- he finds the tight spots that I didnt even realize I had. He is very professional, so if you are a woman and worried about having a man massage you, no worries here -- he is a nice family guy, no creep factor whatsoever. I feel like the communication is very good -- if I had a special need/request I am confident it would be honored, but I also dont need to give a lot of direction to get a really great massage. Scheduling has been pretty flexible too. Ive been so happy here that I wouldnt consider going anywhere else.

I had a Groupon deal for a deep tissue massage with Jason. Based on the good reviews I had high hopes, unfortunately I was wrong. I felt like it he just glided over my tight and sore muscles instead of actually working them out. It definitely isn’t what I consider a deep tissue. I’m sorely disappointed.

I am a regular customer of the Massage Therapy Center -- regular as in I have had a standing appointment every (2) weeks (or more as needed) for the past (2.5) years. I tried at least (9) other massage centers - spas, salons, private practitioners, and the chain before settling in at The Massage Therapy Center. I have never NOT felt slightly oily / greasy from receiving a massage anywhere -- even from my daughter who is licensed & lives in another state. One does not deliberately go get a massage and then put on a silk blouse to go out to dinner.First of all, this is not a spa, a salon, or a glitzy building - its a VERY old building. Frankly, the outside of the building is a bit dumpy & could stand some sprucing up - theres no reason for an empty coconut fiber liner in a window box or a crooked rusting mailbox. The waiting room is not glamorous but has adequate hotel-lobby-quality furniture. I have never had dirty linens. The place smells clean but fortunately there is no overpowering fragrance that makes you feel like you are in a chemical factory.Secondly, each Therapist has decorated their room to match their personality, and they are all eclectic and relaxing. Each therapy room has its own air conditioner, fan, (and i think, a heater) and the tables have heated mattress pads; the clients personal preference dictates the clients temperature during their massage. The Therapists themselves are an eclectic bunch, so do not expect them to be all be wearing any sort of uniform like pastel pink scrubs.Now honestly, I have only had massages by Antonia (Toni) and Melissa. Toni can put you to sleep in (30) seconds. Her hands are warm and skillful and her pressure varies from butterfly to firm. I have some chronic IT band issues as well as deossification of the hip which causes lower back pain, so I need Melissa to literally make me cry because she digs so deeply. By the next day I am amazed by how much better I always feel. Now, this is not to say that she cannot give a lighter massage, but she works best *for me*.That *for me* is very important. These Therapists are trained professionals but they need communication from their clients. If the temperature is too warm or chilly in the room, tell them. If you want a lighter or heavier touch, tell them. If theres a problem area you need addressed, tell them. If there is an area you do not want touched, tell them. Theres also the yapping factor to consider - I have been to other massage centers (most notably the chain) where the therapists yap constantly -- about their dog, their boyfriend, what they had to eat yesterday.The therapists at the Massage Therapy Center WANT their clients to feel better -- thats what they trained for. As far as I am concerned, these are THE best hands in town.My daughter, who lives in another state, is a licensed physical therapy

Melisa is fantastic! With regular massage she helped me reach my running goals....one half marathon a month and I stayed injury free! She also taught me stretches for some of my specific problem areas. And her deep tissue work keeps my stress knots at bay. Melisa maintains a professionalism while providing a caring and comfortable atmosphere. She feels like a friend from the moment you first meet her!

I had my first massage today with Jason. It was a great experience and I immediately felt comfortable. I enjoyed our conversation and the atmosphere of the room- very inviting. Just a note to know about is that they dont take credit cards there so you have to pay by check or paypal.

To anyone looking for a massage that actually has game changing physical results - Melisa is the massage therapist that you have been searching for! I came to her the first time a few months ago in so much pain from a glucose knot in my shoulder that I had ignored for years that had finally pushed me to a breaking point. Sleepless nights, migraines, endless tubes of Icy Hot and patches were the norm at that point and I needed ACTUAL massage therapy. After a recommendation from a friend, Melisa worked me in that evening for a 60 minute session.I have never had such a positive experience!!Not only was she an absolute delight of a human being - she knew exactly where the problem was coming from and like a magician worked out the pain and turned out to be exactly what the doctor ordered. She is passionate about what she does, she is knowledgeable about her trade, and the results are the best I could ever ask for. I recently tried the CBD massage and I can’t recommend it enough for pain, stiffness, anxiety, and injury related pain. Melisa is the best massage therapist I have EVER had. So... I am really sad to write this, especially since it is a local small business in my hometown. I went for a 60 minute massage via a Groupon that a friend gifted me for my birthday. I was excited to go based on the good reviews I read on here. It was a very hot day...90+ degrees. I walked inside the building and immediately realized that no air conditioning was on. While doing paperwork, I began to sweat but said nothing. Once back in the room, I immediately noticed the cool decorating in the room... Maps for wallpaper, a neat multicolored weaved chair, and so on. I like eclectic things so I enjoyed the ambiance of the room. I was told to take off what I was comfortable with and get under the sheet. I did so and put my head into the u-shaped pillow which had a pillowcase draped over it. The pillowcase was dirty.... It smelled musty and did not appear clean. I immediately lifted my head and waited for the massage therapist to arrive. Mind you.... It was still hot in this room and I was starting to sweat under the sheet. Once she came in, I explained that I needed a new pillowcase, which she quickly apologized for and provided. At this point, she asked what pressure I wanted and I told her she could be firm. She starts the massage. Then I heard a fan come on and began to feel some cool air near my feet. The massage was not bad until the end. She kept working this area on my neck but was digging her fingernails into my skin and pinching this nerve. I stayed quiet, trying not to tense up for the sake of the massage benefits. Shortly after that, she told me I could get up and get dressed. When I opened my eyes... There was a glob of the massage lotion on my chest... Just sitting there. I wiped it in. Then when I sat up, I noticed another glob ON the sheet right next to where my head was lying, like she was using it as her source during the massage. Then I looked at the clock and it was 5 minutes early... Not that I was complaining... I was ready to go after that. She advised me to use a heating pad on my neck for 15 minutes that night as I was leaving. I followed her directions. I drove home achy and oiled up from head to toe.... Which is not a good thing. My leather in my car was all shiny where I had been sitting and the same for my steering wheel. I showered as soon as I got home.Needless to say... I had to spend money a week later to see my chiropractor because my neck and shoulders were still aching from the massage I got here.Everyone has a bad day and I get that. That is why I am not including the name of the massage therapist. However.... I really cannot recommend this place for a massage.***I noticed people rate Melissa highly. My massage therapist was not Melissa***

I was involved in an automobile accident and it was suggested I see Jason Ostrander at Massage Therapy Center. His expertise and professionalism were outstanding. After Jason worked on me I felt GREAT!

The girlfriend and I were really excited about coming here because of the stellar reviews and close proximity. We tried to call ahead, no answers, so we decided to come in. Mind you this is 3pm on a Tuesday. We walked in--front door is wide open. There is absolutely no one to greet us or even seems to work here. Just an empty chair with lights on. Wait in the lobby for 10 minutes and no one. Tried calling numbers again (there is no main number for the office just private numbers for each masseuse). The front sign says Saturday appointment only so we still think we are okay to walk in. 15 minutes now as I write this and still no one seems to work here...
