Ive been with this practice for at least 10 years and I use to receive excellent care but I guess that is because I was relatively healthy aside from the normal colds or other common problems. Recently Ive had a bigger health problem which requires some additional tests, well getting them to work with the insurance company to get the proper approval has been like pulling teeth. The nurses are very unresponsive to phone calls or emails. Ive had my tests rescheduled on multiple occasions because they dont get the approvals started timely. Ive had to make Dr appts to get refills for medicine because refill requests go unanswered. This is not just a one time experience, the lack of communication has been going on for quite some time now. I believe this practice has expanded too big too fast and they have lost their care and empathy for their patients. Its very disappointing as I was once a very happy patient.

Can’t say enough about Dr. McDowell and everyone else who works there. Everyone is so nice! Dr. McDowell never rushes me, listens to all my concerns, and is just great! My husband went to him today for the first time, and was and is very impressed with him.

So I had my first appointment with Dr. McDowell. He was very thorough and patient, not to mention professional and just plain nice! I left his office KNOWING that he truly has my best interest at heart. I am going through a difficult time right now and need a primary care that 1) KNOWS and is good at practicing in his field and 2) someone that I feel I can TRUST with providing me with the best care possible and a plan to keep me healthy. He is very sincere and straight to the point....and I love it! I researched him thoroughly before even making my appointment. The negative reviews I read did not depict what I found out about Dr. McDowell. I am so very happy I found him.

Ive been seeing Dr. McDowell for 6+ years. The care I have received has been great. If I cant get an appointment with him right away, there is always a competent member of his staff available to see me. Sometimes the wait time is long, but I really appreciate the fact that when Dr. McDowell is with you he takes his time and listens. I appreciate his attitude and manner in which he cares for my health. Is he friendly and engaging? Yes. Is he good at what he does? Absolutely. Does he massage your ego or give you a participation ribbon? No. I recommend him to all my friends, and will continue to do so.

I’ve been a patient for years and have great respect fo Dr McDowell. He is very knowledgeable and has my best interest with every medical situation I’ve had.

My husband and I both see Dr. McDowell. He is very thorough and straightforward with our care. We have not encountered any of the complaints that some of the other reviewers mentioned. You may wait a little longer but it’s the nature of healthcare and a caring doctor who spends all the time you need when it’s your turn:

After waiting one hour to be seen by Dr. McDowell, Dr. McDowell entered the office and asked me how I was doing. At that time, I responded with, “right now I am irritated that I had to wait one hour before I was face to face with the doctor.” He replied, “ this is healthcare,…I don’t know what the general public thinks…”, I stated that I felt that if I had shown up to my appointment one hour late, that I am pretty sure, I would not be seen. He replied, “I am pretty sure you would.” He said, you have the last appointment of the day and in order for you to be seen on time that means that every prior appointment would have to have run perfectly. I replied, “This sounds like a time management issue.” I then said, may I just get my lab work request to have my blood drawn for my yearly physical as that is the reason for my visit…he stood up and said, “ No, we don’t mesh….get the hell out of my office, I will mail you your records as he walked out the door. I stood up in shock then exited the exam room. As I exited, I saw him walking down the hallway and I then asked, “Can I get my copay back?” He replied, “You can get whatever you want…..” I then walked up to the reception area and requested my copay be reimbursed as I did not see the doctor. They refunded my credit card and I exited the office.When Dr. McDowell asked me the question and I gave him an honest answer, he displayed zero empathy for my inconvenience and offered me no reasonable excuse for the delay. He was arrogant and condescending and was visibly angered when I challenged his tardiness. He yelled at me for holding him accountable for my time. His very own website states that if you arrive 15 minutes late, you will not be seen and you will need to be rescheduled. How is that same standard not applied to his schedule?Upon further investigation of this doctor, it appears this is repetitive behavior and he has multiple negative reviews for similar behavior. As the customer, Dr. McDowell did nothing to make me feel better about the delay in being seen. He refused to treat me and threw me out of his practice. His demeanor was intimidating and threatening and completely goes against any Hippocratic Oath.

Dr. McDowell is extremely knowledgeable, always current on new procedures, compassionate, listens and takes as much time as is needed to ensure all issues are resolved. I have trusted my familys care to him for almost 10 years and could not be more satisfied or confident in his abilities.

I was with the practice for approximately 4.5 years. I left the practice due to Dr. McDowells lack of bedside manner. It is my opinion that he may very well be one of the most brash individuals I met in my 61 years.

I just started with this practice. I find Dr. McDowell to be funny, honest and straight forward and compassionate.

Excellent physician, very knowledgeable, and caring. Would definitely recommend.

Was told by doctor he would help me with anti-depression but he gave me meds which didnt work. When I related same to him he dismissed me with no other alternatives offered. Office is overly busy,certain staff are rude, telephone system kicks you off, , also has mailed out - which makes it a federal offense when postmarked - falsified billing for services not rendered.
