Ive been a patient of this practice for over two years now. I go to this provider as he is the only endocrinologist who offers HRT to trans patients in Fredericksburg. Office staff for the first year or so of my transition were amazing, but in the past year or so have completely fallen off.My biggest concerns with this practice is how much they lead you on. Ive mentioned to Zavadil on multiple occasions at various appointments that Id like to take my transition to the next level and get top surgery, and each time hes assured me hed look into it. Next appointment, nothing new. Even when he assured me hed have surgeon contact info for me by a certain date, he didnt. They cant even answer a phone call anymore it seems. As far as transitioning related endocrinologists go, Id honestly only go to this one if youre unable or unwilling to travel further for a better practice to take care of you. They arent awful at Sophia Medical Associates, but as of late I definitely wouldnt say theyre good.

Dr. Villalobos is very kind and gentle. I need her attitude. Its so contagious. Shes always looking for the root cause of my illnesses, not just throwing pills. I think she is a doctor that is a shining example for other doctors.

Dr. Zavadil is a doctor who goes above and beyond. He listens to your concerns. He has helped me get my blood sugar numbers to the normal range. I feel great every time i visit his office. The staff is very welcoming and full of laughs. Good to see a office that has a good vibe among their patients. I truly recommend Dr. Zavadil for your Endocrine diagnosis and treatment.

I was a patient for several years. I experienced the same ups and downs that many have complained about on this review board. The interesting thing I want to note is that Dr. V, is very concerned about her patients and their health. This is not the normal Drs office as Dr. V will spend as much time as necessary talking to you and discussing your issues. While the rest of the medical world is trying to make money and get you in and out in five minutes or less, Dr. V will take whatever time is necessary to help you. Dr. V is worth five stars all day long.I agree her staff is weak, and they are challenged to meet minimum competency levels. The online portal is fantastic and since it was implemented, the communication between Dr. and patient has improved. I no longer had any issues with blood results being lost or never reported. I could always see them online.Dr. Vs billing people are weak and take away from the overall experience she provides. They bill incorrectly, they bill old insurances years after services are performed, and they send out invoices and past due notices when nothing is due and the office tells you not to pay. Very frustrating to say the least.Having said all that, Dr. V provides an alternative to the money machine you get anywhere else and certainly a blast from the past where Dr.s actually listened and cared. I am not a client because I moved to a different state, if I was still in VA, I wold still be a patient.

I no longer use this practice since Dr. Villalobos went into concierge care, she dropped all of her patients that werent willing to pay almost $2,000 a year to have her provide your medical care subscription. It appears that didnt work out and she is now running a regular practice. When I went we had to call in our refills and the process was smooth. I do however completely agree that her staff was more often than not very rude and overwhelmed. I switched to Personalized Family Medicine and they have a great caring staff!

I liked Dr.Zavadil, but unfortunately a private practice physician is only half as good as their office practices. I’m a local Paramedic/Firefighter and it’s a common occurrence in our career that we get held over from time to time. We work 24 hour shifts. I’ve had this happen before when I’ve had other appointments and physician offices have always been supportive and understanding. We ethically can’t leave emergency services undermanned and health care providers usually understand this more than most. Sadly, not here. They told me there was no exceptions for their $50 missed appointment fee and were perfectly happy to have me find another doctor. I guess we have a different view on ethics.

My wife sees her endocrinologist here. He is a great doctor, and we both like him, but the office staff here is terrible. They dont return calls, from either patients or pharmacy, the office closes at different hours randomly, they are often rude(such as this morning telling a patient trying to get a script refill he never called their office and they required 24 hours for a refill request, regardless that he has been calling for 6 days now). If you can deal with the staff and the office the doctors are great.

Great doctors and staff! I have never had any issues or refills of my medication. It can be hard to get them on the phone but i leave a message and my call is handled by the next day.

I have read all others reviews and I don’t disagree with the majority; on the contrary; I do understand simply because my husband goes thru it constantly.Nonetheless; there is an old Irish saying that says; DO YOU WANT TO EAT GRAPES OR KILL THE CARETAKER OF THE VINEYARDS...I will give both doctors; Dr. V and Dr Zavadil SIX STARS and not five out of five...In my personal opinion ; some times you have to ignore the poor staffing and focus on the Doctor. You want great health & great doctors to take care of your deteriorating health or you want great customer service from the staff. Dr. Zavadil changed my husband’s health around and he fought his fights with insurance companies and my husband think the world of Dr Zavadil and Dr V. They will go above and beyond to take care of you and they will spend quality time with you in order to solve any issues you have. I could have given this practice a five stars; however; I gave them only four simply because the way the staff treats my husband and the way they talk down at him. He refuses to leave this practice simply because of the way Dr Zavadil takes care of him; however; I am only wondering for how long both of these wonderful doctors will put this practice on line simply because of unprofessionalism of the staff. They are extremely rude; unprofessional; discourteous; disrespectful and above all; the staff lacks all aspects of dealing with patients property...I hope both of these great doctors will finally realize that the staff of their medical practice is a mirror of the Doctors’ image.

Same as everyone else! Always having to chase the Doctor for weeks just to get blood results. Its 100% crap. It took me over a month to get an appointment of calling weekly and leaving messages . My mother went to the office to make my appointment cause NO ONE CALLS BACK!!! Now I called 5 times in 1 week spoke to a nurse twice about my results who said Ill leave another message for the doctor to call you... I will be changing doctors as soon as I finally get my results IM OUTTA THERE!!!

Ive had type 1 diabetes since I was 3 years old and have seen tons of DRs. Most are condescending and unrealistic. Dr Z was incredible and didnt make me feel like I was an idiot because my A1C wasnt perfect. He has been very helpful in working with me to adjust my insulin levels and even had some new insight regarding when I should take my nightime insulin that no other Dr had thought of.

The doctor seemed knowledgeable and friendly but the staff is terrible. I had blood drawn ad was told I would get a callback within two days but they never followed up with me. Ive been calling them multiple times a day for two weeks and left plenty of messages but they have never returned my call. Extremely unprofessional and I will never do business with them again after I get my results.

Dr. Zavadil was great, the staff was semi friendly. Ive had only one appointment, and when the nurse went to draw my blood, she missed the vein. Its been over two months and Ive called about once a week but they claim they have still have not gotten the lab results back! Half the time when I call, their office is closed, although I call within the hours on the website, and the one time I went down in person, in the middle of a day they said theyd be open, they were closed. Im extremely frustrated with this doctors office

Dr. Zavadil is a great doctor, but the practice as a whole leaves a lot to be desired. Their receptionist rarely return calls, there is no call back for appointment reminders. If you have lab work they will not contact you with results. Leaving a message does not help as the mailbox will be full or they wont call back. You are better off using a provider who can handle the number of patients. If they had a more competent staff the rating would be hire. Again Dr. Zavadil is a great doctor, but the way the practice is ran as a whole is not worth the effort or headache you will obtain.

The Dr is great but I have to constantly call to find out information such as blood test and ultrasound results weeks/months afterwards. They are not able to keep up.

Two years of textbook hypothyroidism, two years of visits, ended up diagnosing myself and asking for a TSH test, it was 15! My sodium was critical. Worst doctors office ever, they dont answer calls, they dont keep regular hours, and they cant even diagnose you to boot.

I have never been to such an unprofessional doctor’s office. I read several of the views already on this site and the reviews seemed to echo the one in which I am about to write. I have also had blood-work done several times and never received the results. I was told at the time that Dr. Linda A. Villalobos was going to call when my results came back and they would call and make an appointment for me to come in so she could go over my results with me. That never happened. I also called a number of times to check on my results, but no one ever answered the phone (which happens all the time) so I left messages, but the calls were never returned. In one month it will be a year since I was in her office to have my blood drawn and to-date I’ve yet to be notified of my results. I do not recommend anyone go to this doctor. I can say without hesitation that Dr. Villalobos is totally unconcerned about her patients. In my opinion, Dr. Villalobos does not deserve even one star; however, I had to click at least one star in order to post this statement.

Same as the previous poster-- Dr. Zavadil is great! One of the most intelligent and knowledgable doctors that Ive seen. The office staff, on the other hand, is clearly overwhelmed and is at times difficult.I just spent a week trying to get a staff member on the phone. The line was always either busy or wasnt answered. One day, the line was busy for two hours straight, then the office closed. When I finally got someone on the phone days later, she was so harried that she misunderstood things I said and tried to rush me off the line as quickly as possible.Refill requests can take much longer than 24 hours to process (it once took over a week, several phone calls from me, and multiple attempts by my pharmacy). Prepare for a mini battle if you say the word refill in a phone call. They immediately launch into their We dont take refill requests by phone bit, and its difficult to get them to realize that youre having a problem, not just trying to call in a refill. The staff is helpful and professional if you have a straightforward, non-refill-related question or are trying to make an appointment. However Ive had the other problems for a solid three years now.UPDATE: It seems to largely depend on who you get on the phone. On one hand, I was promised a call back that I never got. On the other, the person I spoke with today was extremely helpful and fixed my issue in a heartbeat.I keep going because Dr. Zavadil is fantastic. If you can brave difficult staff and learn to call your refills in as soon as your insurance company will allow it, its worth it.

Dr. Villalobos will take the time to actually listen! A rarity theses days, although busy, the staff, especially the nurse has always followed up with my requests.
