Great Doctor and staff. Been going to him for about 15 years. Recommend him over all others. Really cares about his patients.

Dr. Smith and his office staff will not call with biopsy results nor will they return calls. Two weeks after my procedure I left four voice messages over several days and neither he nor his office staff have returned my calls.

Absolutely uncaring treatment!!! This entire office needs to address how they deal with patiences.I was dismissed and made to feel unimportant. Phones calls are not returned in a timely manner & some staff seem to be misinformed. I would not recommend this office and certainly not Dr Smith.

Renick Smith is excellent: professional, up-to-date in his knowledge, thorough, straightforward, and careful. Highly recommended. Both my husband and I have been his patients for many years. I had a near-death out-of-town stomach operation several years ago, and his attention to my gastro-intestinal health has been impeccable.

What kind of doctor office that wont accept fax or phone calls from your insurance to approve home delivery of your meds that you need. This doctors office. Then they want you to come in for that copay so they can charge you more just so the doctor can write a prescription. This is not a good practice and I even feel the doctor Smith sont really give a damn about his patients. Lets just rush them on out and get that check. I have never felt like this or been treated like this ever by a place of medicine. Go to DC or Richmond, dont waste your time and money here.

I was referred to Dr. Renick Smith and his team by my Primary care Dr Ferguson about 16 months ago. At that time I had unexplained gut wrenching episodes of pain for months in my pelvis and severe back problems- a stiff painful back. I had wrong diagnoses from other physicians who were certain it was endometriosis- it was not and recommending surgery. I was going through expensive treatments of treatment for back pain as well. Because of how unwell I was I has lost a drastic amount of weight -weighing at 80lbs. It was a huge strain on me physically and emotionally.At my very first consult Dr. Renick was very brief, he is not a hold your hand doctor but more of an effectively try to identify the problem and save the patient numerous visits. Instead of prescribing medication right away he advised that we take an invasive look an endoscopy and colonoscopy and his office set up my procedure quickly and efficiently -by the weeks end. Sure enough I had a small overgrowth of a bacteria that usually causes no severe symptoms irritating a small part of the lining of my small intestine. In my case perhaps picked up from a dirty glass in a restaurant, he said or just about anywhere. Such an easy diagnosis had taken months to get to. I believe a less experienced doctor would have missed it. A round of antibiotics and the pelvic pain disappeared along with the back pain.Rappahanock Gastoentology is great, I could call them at anytime after my procedure which if you have had is very hard on the body. Dr. Renick and his team followed up with me in the weeks and months that followed until I started to gain my weight back and was pain free. A great doctor and a great team.

Dr Smith has been my GI doctor for about 20 yrs.. I think very very highly of him and Dr. Trible... I am a nurse and I refer all my patients to this office.. I dont understand how someone can say not to come to office bc I have ALWAYS had great service by staff and physicians and my patients have had nothing but good things to say about the office!!!!

I normally take reviews seriously but this time I didn’t. He is extremely rude wouldn’t see me because I was 7 min late for an appointment on a Friday. His front office staff was rude as well.Don’t waste your time going to this place.

Awful experience... I was only one minute late do to babysitting issues and they would not see me. They were rude and not flexible at all especially when I explained that I really need to see him. Also Dr. Smith doesnt even spend 5 minutes with you... He is in a hurry...

If i could give a lower rating then i would,so difficult to get a call back and it seems that they dont care at all.
