Fair warning. On Feb 5th 2020 I attended an appointment for a suspected ear infection. I was initially greeted by a nice lady who took me back and gave me a hearing test. Unbeknownst to me I went along thinking that this was some sort of standard procedure. Given that I was aware my hearing was impaired I was not surprised when she diagnosed me with hearing loss. I went back to the waiting room and was eventually taken back to see the ENT specialist. All services were rendered professionally and diagnosed accordingly. However a few days later I got a sales call from the Hearing Center side of the business and received a medium pressure sales pitch for hearing aids. Upon questioning the caller I learned I was being charged for 2 separate exams. I called only to make an appointment with 1 doctor and have my earache checked out, not for a hearing test. There was never any mention of this test or of an additional charge. This is tantamount to a misrepresentation and a shakedown. I called to complain and after talking to the billing manager who paid me the usual lip service I was supposed to receive a call back and never got one. Fair Warning... Unless you specify you dont want a hearing test they will give you one and charge you for it and if you dont accept the test they may not see you for your original complaint, as I was told on the phone with the billing manager. Such is the state of healthcare in America.It is a shameful and predatory practice upon the aged, ignorant and ill informed consumers.
