I needed to have one last tooth removed in order for my new dentures and several other doctors were unable to do it. Matter of fact it has been a year of walking around embarrassed when i would speak because i had one tooth. I went to several dentists and I ended up here. My first visit to Palisades was an xray and a consult. Next visit the tooth was removed in a matter of seconds. I can not express in words the gratitude i have in my heart for this group. They are fantastic. Nothing is archaic. Hands down one of the best dental groups i have come across. Thank you for everything.

The office is very well run. It is spacious with the most state of the art equipments. People are very nice (receptionists, X-ray persons, nurses and the doctor). The oral surgeon is great. 3 years ago, I had a fractured back tooth which is broken and infected. My dentist said it is going to be a tough surgery. To my surprise, it took him literarily 30 second to take it out. I trust him and feel very luck to find a good oral surgeon in my area.

Went in today for all four of my wisdom teeth to be extracted, and Dr. Carrao and his team made me feel super comfortable. I was so nervous to even be sedated, but the whole thing took what felt like 30 seconds and I was walking around consciously just fine right after the procedure. Amazing job! Thanks you guys :)

Had all 4 wisdom teeth extracted about 2 weeks ago, it went great. Wait time wasn’t long it was quick & Dr. Carrao did an excellent job. I am still currently healing but everything looks like it’s healing nicely. The nurse was nice and tried to make me feel comfortable and reassured me that I was in good hands because she knew I was nervous. I trust this place so thank you Dr. Carrao.

This place is really shady about their billing. I wasn’t getting charged for anything until more than a year passed since my last visit. Since then I’ve been getting slammed with more charges, with no information provided at all about them. I remember thinking it was odd that they weren’t charging me DURING my visits, even when I would ask about it. They’re just hoping enough time passes that you’ll forget what services you received, so it’s harder for you to contest. Super scammy and shady behavior.

Brutal experience.... would give Negative stars if possible ... referred by my dentist after two weeks with a hot infected tooth/gums .... initially referred for emergency treatment that got me an appointment ten days later ... my dentist finally persuaded POS to do something only two days later ... despite being the first appointment of the day at 7am I waited close to an hour with an IV in my arm for the doctor .... post surgical pain has been off the charts but they don’t seem to care .... ZERO outgoing calls over the last three days to check on me and they’ve ignored my pleas for better pain management.Awful practice.....

Honestly, one of the worst experiences of my life. I give two stars only because the staff was efficient with getting me in and friendly. however, the procedure of wisdom teeth removal and the aftermath has literally ruined my daily life. I was a nervous wreck sitting in the chair alone waiting for the procedure to start, all of a sudden Im bombarded with nurses and they knock me out. I woke up mid-surgery , no pain at all though, yet I could feel them pulling me around like a rag doll! afterwards, the pain hit me like a brick the second I got into the car to go home. since then ive only had problems like TMJ pain and severe swelling on the side that actually healed faster originally, and ringing in my ears on occasion due to that. I wouldnt recommend this place at all, unfortunately.

Dr. Vincent Carrao, his nurses, and the office staff was wonderful at Palisades Oral Surgery. The office is set up to follow all Covid -19 rules. The chairs are all six feet apart and everyone must wear masks. But I think one of the best things about the office itself in Dr. Carrao. Years ago Dr. Carrao pulled two of my wisdom teeth & he gave me a mild sedative to put me out while he pulled them. It was the first time that I was sedated, but honestly, I would prefer to have my teeth pulled that way. Also, I should mention that I felt safe having Dr. Carrao put me under is not Only he is an Oral Orthopedic Surgeon, but he also, an MD (that’s right Dr. Carrao is not only an Orthopedic surgeon he also graduated from Medical School). So I would recommend Palisades Oral Surgery.

The staff is very cold cut and dry and quite insensitive. I honestly did not feel comfortable being in this place. Please consider training some of your employees about customer service. Either some of them hate their job or just need some training. You’re in an industry where people are pretty vulnerable to you, the least you could do is help us feel comfortable to be in your office.

I had three compacted wisdom teeth removed a week ago and just came for my checkup. Everyone in the office was polite and accommodating, the doctor was very professional and thorough. He even called me a day later to check if I was healing properly, which I truly appreciated. The waiting time in the office was very short, no more than 10 or 15 minutes ( having come on 15 minutes early to both appointments). I highly recommend this office and its staff.

I was referred by my primary dentist for a wisdom tooth extraction. I was riddled with anxiety and my entire experience from the front desk receptionist, Jill, to discharge was nothing less than perfection. Dr. Schiffman and his team were very informative and brilliant! My tooth was out before I knew it. I highly recommend Palisades Oral Surgery and if I had more teeth to pull, I’d definitely go back!

I went in to get all four of my wisdom teeth extracted. The staff was polite, the surgeon was kind and funny, and it felt like I was in and out in a minute during the procedure itself.I would highly recommend this establishment for any dental surgery.

You should fire your receptionist who sent us to new Brunswick to have my brothers teeth xray for a tooth extraction when he could have done it at your place if you would have had patience which your doctors have none.

Do not go here, horrible office and the doctor was shady. I called prior to confirm all was covered and they said there would be no charge as they are in network and contracted. Little to find out, we received a bill in the mail for a balance. When I called, apparently they claimed they did one scan that wasn’t covered and another that was complete prior so I was responsible for balance. I was very upset as I called to make sure this exact process wouldn’t happen! So now, a balance is due when I could’ve easily had records sent over to prove the one test was complete and another would’ve denied if insurance didn’t cover it!!! Plus, the doctor treats you like you’re a number and an assembly line. Decided to go elsewhere- even if more has to be paid out of pocket for another consult. Would never trust this place to touch my teeth, let alone deliver another crazy bill! AVOID!! You don’t want surpise charges like we now have to pay... such horrible customer service and dishonesty to patients.

I would prefer NO Stars! The staff wasn’t friendly or welcoming. My mother had a wisdom tooth extracted here and she felt it all!!! I took her to the appointment but wasn’t in the room with her otherwise I would have told the doctor to stop! I trusted that the doctor would take care of my mother and it wasn’t the case. My mother is traumatized because of this experience. She said it felt like she was going to have a heart attack from all the pain she was experiencing. She mention she grabbed the doctors hand in the middle of surgery and moaned to let him know she was feeling everything and he simple tapped her arm and told her “it’s ok, we are almost done” This brakes my heart because I took my Mother to this office. I told her everything was going to be ok and it wasn’t .

Office manager Peggy is completely rude and insensitive. Instead of compromising she forces the option of going to another facility. I’m also reporting her horrible customer service skills to higher management. Very nasty woman. Such a shame because front desk is very nice.

This is the worst doctor office. Please dont go there. The staff member are very rude and unprofessional. My friend was schedule for extractions. He been fighting opiate addiction for years. He been on outpatient treatment and he recently relapsed and he been clean for couples of days and he been trying to go back to treatment. I called the doctor office multiples time and explained them his situation and let them know to please do not prescribe any narcotics/opiates. The girl over the phone seemed she understand and said she was going to speak with doctor and put that information on his record. She never asked my friend to sign a release form or explained to me over the phone that I need a release in order for them give me information or discuss this matter . After the procedure was done he was prescribed with opiate and I called back the office and the girl over the phone stated that it was a mistake I got very upset at that point because I called 3 times to make sure he did not get any opiate. then she stated than she does not need to tell me any thing or talk to me about my friend because he did nor sign any release form why didnt you mention that from the beginning??? USA is having a huge problem with opiate it became an epidemic and everything starts with prescribed pills medications. This medical facility seems they dont care about patients well being. I DONT RECOMMEND THIS DOCTORS OFFICE.

I had to get an extraction done on one of my molars and this appointment couldnt have gone smoother. From start to finish, this place was very professional and courteous. Dr Schiffman was wonderful! I never even felt a thing! He even personally called me himself later that day to make sure the bleeding had stopped and that I was felling o.k. I am not sure why there are negative comments on here about this place, maybe different owners, but I would DEFINITELY recommend this oral surgery center to all my friends and family and to anyone who will listen :)

Worse experience for my mother!! They do not know how to treat the elderly my mother.... got out there crying!!!! Because he was an animal, my mom kept telling him to stop because she couldnt breath and he kept going!!! My mother has been traumatized ...PLEASE dont GO ....find someone else, your insurance is paying thousand of dollars and not to be treated like animals in a farm, I bet they are treated better!!!

Horrible service! after going with an infected root canal was told an extraction was needed it but the insurance will cover the procedure and it was going to be sent for pre approval . Was sent home without antibiotics or pain medicine. 3 weeks later the toothache was so bad I called and told me to give them few more days for insurance answer. Another 5 days passed by I called them and they said they haven’t received anything yet. The pain at that point was unbearable the girl answering the phone said they could schedule the appointment for the procedure and that the next available appointment was 3 weeks away of course that wasn’t an option at that point she then said she will talk to the manager to give me a call to see if she could do something about it and once again no call back. No one called back. Very unprofessional.

These people are liars and are horrible. I had a procedure done & provided both of my insurances because one of my insurances was almost due for termination. Employees said that the insurance would cover my medical bill and months later I get a mail with a bill that had nothing covered from my insurance and said that I wasn’t covered by my insurances. They make it the clients responsibility to make sure that a claim was filed to thee insurances when that is their job. Now I am in court facing this bill. Horrible employees, liar and unprofessional.

I see a lot of negative comments, but Im here to correct them. The people in this office are great! Of course everyone has their own personality and I really liked peggy and doctor shiffman is awesome! Peggy just has a strong character but she is really sweet and has always made sure my concerns were addressed. Dr. Shiffman always lets you know what it is going to be whether or not it is good or bad, but he tells you the truth. I appreciate that so much in a doctor. If he could be my doctor for everything I would totally take him, and of course peggy too. Thank you all I feel so much better now and appreciate all the work you have done for me.

I had the same negative experiences.I felt like i was at a drive through at McDonalds with how rushed and how much they simply do not care.The only positive is the lady who does the IV. She is the best thing about this place, they literally do not deserve her.The worst is the Dr’s assistant. The woman is condescending, dismissive and just straight up rude. The only way i’d consider ever going back here is if my two options are this office or loosing ALL my teeth.

I dont know these people who had bad experiences. But I can tell you, I trust Dr. Carrao with my life. I have had many implants and other surgeries in his office and have been nothing but pleased. 1 star Because their isnt a choice for ZERO stars!! DO NOT GO TO THIS DENTIST!!! Not only do they have just one DR who is NEVER available, the staff is RUDE and insensitive to patient needs. I was referred to this office by my daughters general dentist. I went there mid of August of this year. They give me an appointment to extract her tooth a MONTH later for 9/20/2015. Few days before 9/20/2015, they call me to cancel the appointment because the DR is not going to be available. Instead of apologizing to me, they tell me that her dental insurance is not accurate in system so they CANNOT reschedule!! After I lose my patience and tell them my daughters health is more IMPORTANT than MONEY and tell them i will pay cash (though i have insurance) if I have to but re-schedule her appointment. They reschedule me for 10/7/2015. They just called me today to tell me they have to cancel AGAIN !!! HORRIBLE !

Its an okay place. I was referred by my dentist to do a wisdom teeth removal surgery here. After the check up, they scheduled me a 6 weeks later surgery, but a few days before the surgery, they called and told me they have to cancel my appointment since the doctor will not be available on that day, so I rescheduled for another 3weeks later. Now I have done with my surgery, currently in the recovery process. The only thing I can remember about the surgery is I was brought to the room, the nurse did blood pressure and heart rate, these prepation stuff, then the doctor came in asked me if I have any questions, after I said no, the next moment I can remember is that I woke up on the bed, and a nurse told me the surgery is over. Then my husband came in, I can hear the nurse was telling him to get the prescription and give him the instructions about what to do after surgery. Then I was brought home. Untill now, I still cant recall what happened to my wisdom teeth, all I know is that they are gone.

Aside from the bad reviews / slander amongst this medical astablishments client review,I MUST SAY the care I was provided here is defenitly worth a referral or 3 !They made me feel prioritized, comfortable on a personal level, and we’re the most cautious with keeping pain to a bare minimum if any.I’ve had several fair experiences with both general Dentist and Professional Orthodontic Dr’s alike;However none have even come close to the amazing result, speed, and pain free care i recived at Palisades !

I am a healthy woman, who is usually a very good healer. I was walking around three days after a C-section, where my entire abdomen was cut open. I also had thyroid surgery, where I was up and walking - without any swelling. I am an active, healthy fast healer - and I had one other wisdom tooth out 20 years ago where I had zero swelling. Zero. My husband had all four teeth out years ago (at a different place obviously) and his swelling for all four teeth was less than mine for one tooth. It is Friday; I had my surgery on Monday and the swelling in my face is abominable. I have never in my life been so swollen; I just dont react in that way. THEY DID SOMETHING WRONG and barbaric.

I have so much to say and mostly NEGATIVE ABOUT PEGGY!! The lady has no heart! I’m still recovering from surgery.. but I’ve read some reviews about PEGGY - and they are SPOT ON!! WITCH!!!

Overall my experience wasnt bad at all. Only issue was that i kept waking up after they gave me medication to fall asleep. For some reason meds dont take effect on me like that. The staff were very nice they took the time to explain what i was going to get done and the doctor gave me a courteous call to make sure i was okay. I guess its just alot of misunderstanding when it comes to certain patients. But overall i had a good experience. I had a true dental emergency and i was able to get it resolved that same week.

Dont ever go here my 7 year old daughter came out with excruciating screaming her head out. I broke down in tears. They dont give a damn about the patients. I wish I would have read these reviews before. I would of saved my daughter a lot of pain and myself a lot of tears. The worst place ever. After reading all the reviews, I must admit..the few bad ones scared me. I actually mentioned it to the medical assistance before I got my tooth pulled. Ive been a medical receptionist for over 25 years, so I understand you cant please everyone. However yesterday April ,14 2018 I had my tooth pulled. This was my second time there, the staff was very friendly usually I find something wrong being this is what I do for a living. The Only thing I can say is everyone is in a rush , its Get in and get out. The medical assistant that puts the iv..in is very nice and you spend a few mins with her, you see the dentist to say hello and BAM..you asleep..next thing you know your waking up..getting in a wheel chair and out the door you go, you dont see a similar face, no bed side manners... and you go home high as hell. I cried in the car , I wasnt ready to leave the feeling of the anesthesia is terrible.. they do not monitor you like after a same day surgery does. They tell you ..you will get a prescription for antibiotic and pain meds.. but Im allergic to Tylenol 3 (this is what they give) so I went home with motrin.. which did NOT take any pain away. I felt with the pain and I could have definitely used some to sleep. Other wise this place is good .. no complications , no swelling. It literally in and out because they are so busy. A little more TLC with us patients that are giving you buisness would be nice. A little more bed side manners as well. The lady doing the iv which I was never told her name was the nicest.. Thank you to her i was comfortable.

Just got home from getting my wisdom teeth pulled and the actual surgery was smooth as can be. The Doctor and the nurses were very friendly and humorous. The wait time to actually get called was a few hours and they apologized its was out of there hands you dont know if another patient is more complicated than you and regardless I would want them to take there time as they did with me. I was not rushed out after surgery and I did recieve a pleasant phone call from the surgeon making sure I was feeling ok and what to expect within the next few days and a reminder to start the meds. Over all the quality and care was worth it Dr. Mark Shiffman was awesome! 👍

Dr. Schiffman was the absolute best and so was his staff!!I got 3 wisdom teeth removed and one other tooth and it was literally the best dental experience Ive ever had, strangely I know lol. I did swell up a bit and it was uncomfortable but thats normal for surgery and yes, this is considered a surgery! Using ice the first day decreases swelling a ton so do it! My husband needs to get his wisdoms out and I am making sure he goes there! Dr. Schiffman even called me the evening after surgery to check on me and answer any questions I might have had! How great is that? Thats a true doctor and if you want a pleasant experience, disregard some of these ratings and get your procedure done there! If for any reason I ever need to see an oral surgeon again, this is going to be my only option for sure! Hope this helps with your decision making!

Ive had the honor of knowing Dr. Carrao for 26 years. I knew him when he was a kind & helpful fellow student, and now the excellent and caring surgeon he has become. However I struggled with the decision of anesthesia for my sons wisdom teeth extraction. The decision was finally made 3 weeks ago. I could have not asked for a better care by him and his staff. My son did well and recovered beautifully, much faster than I did @ that age.Im greatfull to Dr. Carrao and his wonderful staff. It will not be a hard decision for my younger children when the time comes.

I wouldnt recommend anyone to this oral surgeon. I woke up in excoriating pain, which is expected. My problem was that after a week post opt. The left side of my face was still swollen and I still have a small knot underneath my jaw. I went back to complain about the pain the doctor was not there. The nurse reassured me that everything was okay and that the swellen would go away. This was in April. April 26th to be exact. Here we are in June and my jaw on the left side (bottom) isnt completely healed. To top all of this off I just removed a piece of my wisdom tooth that was left in my gums! 😡😡 I dont want to go back to them to get a third look, but I dont know who else to go to. Afraid of another screw up! 😔😔 #OneoftheWORSEEXPERIENCESinmylife!

Where do I begin if you want permanent damage done to your face and health go here. I had two coronectomys which is where they cut the tooth and leave the root to prevent nerve damage. Had the procedure done November of 2016 and in constant pain still as of now. They kept giving me ibuprofen and antibiotics even though they knew I have colitis which landed major damage on my stomach. Besides that I went to another oral surgeon and was told most of my tooth was still left and shouldve been cut more. Now they have to go back in because I am still in constant pain. I would highly not recommend this place and invest in your health and shop around. I completely regret doing this procedure with this place its been a complete nightmare as I am still in pain and have to get another procedure done for the same thing.

Very unprofessional i had a booked appointment scheduled a month back ,day of my appointment i arrive 10 mins late , and i then continued to wait 3 hours after jus to be seen

I have been trying to get in contact with them for 3 months now and it is getting urgent this is the only dentist I know of that takes my insurance and I have left them over 30 messages and they wont answer or call back its ridiculous this office!!!!

Dont do it. Money grab. Check your paper work before you sign anything.

Very nice

This was the first time I came to this office with my son and grandson. It was a pleasant atmosphere.
