My parents have been seeing Dr Allen for almost 3 years. My dad suffered a major stroke in 2017 and my mom has a parkinism. After years of searching for a Dr who would listen to us we found Dr. Allen. The man has been a Godsend. He actually listens to my parents and doesnt try to rush through their visits. He is friendly, personable and knowledgeable. My parents have had a few rough years and so I call often with questions and concerns. He listens. Never tries to hurry me up to get me off the phone. He acts like he really cares about making them feel better which isnt always the case with some Doctors. We drive over 5 hours round trip to see him because we have faith in him.

Dr Allen is truly the most compassionate and caring neurologist I have ever seen. Both my husband and I received excellent care from him over the years. We both have complex neurological needs and Dr Allen was able to pinpoint our treatment and restore our quality of life. He listens to his patients and is up to date on the latest research treatments and therapies. He will leave no stone unturned to help his patients navigate a complex diagnosis. Also his office staff are amazing! His medical assistant Beth in the Cheyenne office is a tremendous advocate for his patients, as she assists them with complex insurance authorizations. I would not hesitate to recommend Dr Allen to anyone who is looking for an evidence based medical approach with a bit of empathy and a great sense of humor. Thank you Dr Allen and Beth for everything.

I drive over an hour to see Dr. Allen and hes worth it! He diagnosed a problem that another neurologist completely missed after my tbi last year and he knew instantly what it was. He is always positive, encouraging, very experienced and is someone who I would trust to find the real problem neurologically as I believe he has a gifted mind. Beth is also one of my favorites and is very responsive and helpful.

Office now in Cheyenne...I come from Fort Collins, and he is worth the drive. Ive been seeing him for years; I always leave feeling better than when I went in, because he really listens and takes the time to understand my situation (not always easy to find in doctors in my opinion). Very knowledgeable, plus funny and personable. Very nice/helpful receptionist, too.

I was a patient of Dr. Allen for about a year from 2010 into 2011. I switched to another neurologist because relatives and friends thought that my condition should have been diagnosed during that time. I did switch, but that was to quiet the critics. My symptoms kept changing during that time. With what Ive since learned about Parkinsons I think he was right to only go as far as suspecting Parkinsonism.Dr. Allen was always personable, delightful, funny, and very qualified. I cant assess the last item as a medical pro, but always had full confidence in him.He was also generous with me. I had no insurance for a time and needed help. He accepted my appointment request, charging only $2 (which I believe is what I would have paid with Medicaid).Ive seen the 2016 news articles. Based on what Ive seen, I consider his merits to far outweigh any misbehavior described there. If I didnt live 100 miles away he would be my neurologist now.

Note: I see there are additional helpful reviews for Dr. Timothy Allen under Neurology Specialists of the Rockies in Google reviews. To reviewer DivaCreationsCO: Dont believe all news articles. An allegation is exactly that: an allegation. Just because an article is published online, doesnt mean its accurate.Dr. Allen is an excellent MD. Great sense of humor. Kind, personable. Hes been my doc for several years. The office receptionist is polite, smart, helpful, efficient. The website for Neurology Specialists of the Rockies provides a detailed policy on opioids... he doesnt prescribe them. Relies on integrative approaches to managing health: lifestyle changes, music therapy, animal therapy, etc. His new office is in Cheyenne... an easy drive. Office is located next to a radiology group. You can get same-day imaging & results = fewer appointments. Great doctor!

Dr Tim Allen had his license revoked in Colorado because he was diverting medication. He was having resident students fill prescriptions he wrote for them and had them return the medication to him for his own use. Ironically he also took part in training the Larimer County Sheriffs department to be able to identify win a suspect was intoxicated or not. Funny is it not. Sounds like a sociopath to me.

Do your homeworkBoard suspends Fort Collins neurologists licenseThe Colorado Medical Board has suspended a Fort Collins neurologists license amid allegations he diverted prescription drugs for his personal use.Timothy Jay Allen, a psychiatrist who used to practice at Fort Collins Neurology PC, 2121 E. Harmony Road, was summarily suspended last month after the licensing board expressed concerns that he was guilty of a deliberate and willful violation of the Medical Practice Act.The panel expressed concerns that (Allen) used his medical license, along with his position of trust and supervision over medical students, to engage in prescription drug diversion, according to Allens suspension paperwork on file with the state.Allens license was officially suspended March 15. He was first licensed in 1994.Allen allegedly requested that medical students under his supervision fill prescriptions in their names and then return the drugs to him, at which time he would use them personally. He also allegedly completed a prescription for himself that had been pre-signed by another physician. Allen has a physical or mental illness or condition that renders (him) safe to practice medicine only in the context of treatment and monitoring, records show.Fort Collins Neurology PC works with patients diagnosed with a host of disorders and conditions including Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinsons disease, Alzheimers disease as well a number of other pain-related conditions. Allen practiced alongside Michael P. Curiel at the office, and the two are listed together in numerous online brochures. However, all references to Allen have since been stripped from the offices website.A receptionist on Tuesday morning said Allen no longer works there, and a voicemail seeking comment was not immediately returned.Though Allens name appears in the online directory for UCHealth, spokeswoman Kelly Tracer confirmed he was not an employee with the health system. Rather, his association with the independent clinic granted him limited credentials with the health system for patient admittance purposes.Reporter Jason Pohl covers public safety for the Coloradoan. Dr. Allen is great! He understands my somewhat complicated condition, and believes me about symptoms that are intermittent (and which he cant directly observe).
