Mountain Avenue Market has everything you need, and its clear that a lot of care goes into sourcing and selecting everything in the store (and if they dont have it, they might just order it for you!). They have a great selection of bulk goods (food and personal care), snacks, staples and ethically sourced meat, dairy and produce. Great ready-to-eat deli foods (the burritos!). The $4 daily vegan burritos are the best (I’m not even vegan) and they carry a locally made hopper seltzer that is a delicious fizzy drink. The bulk section and spices are good. It’s an especially good place to go during Covid as they are good about sanitizing and it’s not busy. Way better then a regular grocery store.

The best local, community-owned grocery store in Old Town! They have all the specialty products like gluten-free, vegan, keto, etc. A great selection of organic and local produce, grass-fed and finished meat, delicious deli-items, and the best bulk-section Ive found. The staff is full of wonderful, loving people who are very knowledgeable about the products. Theyre all about sustainability, conservation, and strengthening the community. They also provide curbside pickups and special orders which is extremely helpful during this pandemic. Becoming a member-owner is pretty simple too. You can sign up online or in-store.

Mountain Avenue Market is an awesome, community-owned grocery store that is open and welcoming to all! They have wonderful selections of local and organic products, make in house deli creations that are often vegan and gluten free friendly. They have bulk staples as well as bulk herbs and coffee. I love Mountain Ave Market (I still call them the Food Co-Op because I am so used to it, but I love the new name!) When I worked in Old Town, I would always stop in for quick lunch from the Deli. They usually have a delicious house made option like curry or tuna salads, sandwiches, soups, etc. Also my favorite apple juice ever. Its my top place to go for spices and bulk foods in general. It is so much cheaper to buy bulk food/spices, and I get just the amount I need. Their groceries are great, too, with lots of local produce and products.Employees are always kind and helpful. They let me look through one of their catalogues and ordered a mortar and pestle just for me one time! Just a great place all around!!!

The co-op is great for SO many reasons I could write a book about why you should shop here. The vegan burritos are the bomb (and super affordable!), along with all the other grab and go deli items- using good & real ingredients for everything. There are almost always vegan & gluten free options. They focus on local, sustainable, and ethically sourced products. All of their produce is organic or locally grown. They have an awesome selection of vegan options (like Avos Tempeh!!!) but they also have a good amount of local and sustainably/ethically raised meats. The bulk section is the best youll find in town-bulk Dr. Bronners soap & the fresh ground organic peanut butter are a couple favorites. You dont have to be a member-owner to shop at this co-op! But becoming a member is an awesome way to support the community and the values of the co-op (and also comes with some cool perks like discounts around town). Its awesome to walk into a store and to be able to trust the products youre buying knowing that the staff has done the work to provide you with only the safest, best quality items. Also, this is the safest store in Fort Collins to shop at in terms of their Covid-19 protocol (sanitizer at the door, sanitizing between customers, masks required). This is where you want to shop if youre tired of corporations and interested in supporting local small business.

I discovered this little gem of a shop after doing some research on reducing my waste at home. As someone who typically shops at Sprouts & Trader Joes, I wanted to find a place that I could use my own repurposed jars (Mason or other). The process is simple and the employees were very friendly with showing me how to get my TARE weight and how to properly tag the sticker for checkout. One of my favorite things about Colorado is the people. No matter where you go, people genuinely want to help, be respectful, & courteous. Theres an underlying foundation of values & integrity that I adore. But back to the shop! They have a variety of bulk spices, coffees, beans, rices, grains, and even mushrooms. And they also have filling stations for you health & beauty products. If you dont have any jars just yet, not to fret....they have donated ones in an old milk crate OR you can purchase some they have. I love this little store and hope to be able to stop in sometime for their grab & go deli items.

The Co-op is amazing! I have shopped here for a few years and have been a member for almost a year. They have so many hard-to-find items in bulk. Their bulk has flours, oils, pasta, beans, snacks, personal care items, laundry detergent, coffee, spices, etc.Its pretty easy if anyone wants to start the transition to zero-waste. Simply bring in your own containers, weigh the empty containers, and the co-op deducts that tare from your bill. They also have a great supply of jars and containers for bulk. The best things are: they have more locally grown (or made) produce, and other products, such as coffee locally roasted, CO-made hummus (and other things, including refrigerated or frozen items), etc. of anyone; they have the best bulk options, from beans, grains, and sweets, to lotions, quick mixes, and nuts, and locally made excellent vinegar; they are the perfect size store to be time-efficient; and, the employees are the friendliest folks around. Wonderful customer service, good smells, yummy breakfast burritos and a vast selection of healthy products. They call themselves the food co-op atm, but theyre much more than that. You dont need a membership to buy products. Membership discounts are real, but there are also sales and soon to expire products as well as bulk savings. This grocery store seems to be evolving with the times. Hopefully well see no price increases as the economy bounces around. As a co-op I hope we can make this health food store the best it can be in Fort Collins!

Review №69

I go in to this store on occasion to buy a quick sandwich, and would go there more often if the sandwiches were better. I realize they use good sourced ingredients to make them, but they usually seem to be over-spiced, the proportions off, or in the case of my Balsamic Blues Turkey sandwich that I cant seem to finish, is way too sweet since they poured a unhealthy dose of sweet jam on it. Its almost like the person making the sandwiches either smokes cigarettes or doesnt eat the food they prepare. Other than that, for a small footprint, they carry a lot of really good food items. I hope to learn from this experience that a can of organic soup may be the best choice for my next lunch. And Im adding this after the store replied below, since it doesnt seem like they thoroughly read my review. I didnt mentioned price, only the added sugar on a Turkey/blue cheese sandwich. I suppose what they are saying is that if you are looking for an overly sugary sandwich, dont go to Subway or Jimmy Johns...the Mountain Ave Market has you covered.

Great shop for bulk! I only started shopping here recently and I go mainly for their bulk section for things like honey, soap, popcorn, and soy beans, but staff is always super friendly and welcoming. Their bulk section is truly outstanding. You can get vinegars, oils, grains, flours (even Bobs Red Mill GF flour mix!), hot sauce, soy sauce, tamari, cosmetic-grade clay, shampoos, the list goes on! You can bring your own container or they have an assortment of containers if you forget to bring one.
