We just had our son here and they have been WONDERFUL! The Labor and Delivery staff was incredibly professional and sweet. All of the nurses took a vested interest in us and connected with us, and they put in the time and effort to facilitate and allow my wife’s body to do the work so she didn’t have to.She was very comfortable, the epidural went great, and there process was very methodical! After the waiting game, it only took 30 minutes and 5 pushes to get him out. We have felt blessed by the whole experience! This was a complete 180 from the experience we had with our daughter at ECM.-staff was great!-facility was very clean and maintained-very up-to-date processes and tech-cafeteria was dope!-plus, guest bed in delivery and postpartum were surprisingly comfy!

My father got here Sunday, and this is Thursday night, and they have not bathed or washed him at all. Would not have changed bedding once if my sister hadn’t made them when he pulled out iv and got blood all over it. Still in same gown since Sunday. His Dr. said he has to be turned 4 times a day. He has been turned zero times. On the rare occasion somebody comes in here, we tell them these things, they say they are gonna go get help, and they never return. When he first got here, we gave them a list of his regular medicines. Two days later, we discovered they just weren’t giving him two very important ones that you canNOT just stop abruptly. Nobody here seems to know what they’re doing.

I had a great experience here. I am from Indiana and was staying near Florence for a family wedding. My son was breathing hard and not feeling well in the middle of the night so we took a trip to the ER. It was very clean and we got seen quickly. They were short staffed but I didnt feel like our care was effected by it. The paramedic helping out that night was so thoughtful and helped get my son the care he needed. Everyone was kind and answered any questions I had and was checked on multiple times while waiting for certain treatments. Would reccommend based on my experiences. Thanks for helping get my son get better quickly!

My mother was admitted with pneumonia and now has brain damage. They did not even contact the family when she apparently pulled her bi pap out and coded. We found out the next day when a man another patient answered her phone. How horrible is this. If they were short staff they should have let us stay. Now they cannot even tell us how long she was unresponsive before they found her. Why didn’t they have alarm on the machine or did they just not answer. This has been a horrible experience.

My family had the worst experience with this hospital! They are very unprofessional! My mom got admitted on Sunday the 11th for pneumonia! From Monday to Wednesday we never got a call from a physician to update us on her condition. When we called we was told she was doing ok. When I called my moms room on Wednesday morning another patient answered her phone that is when I knew something is wrong after talking to the staff we found out our mother had coded the night before and was on a ventilator. No one contacted us to tell us. And they have done nothing but change their story every time we talk to someone different. My mother was neglected by the staff and it’s so heart breaking that anyone should have to go through what my mother and my family had to go through!

This is absolutely the most uncaring hospital ever , our mom was there admitted on 10th of October with pnemonia, apparently on Tuesday the 12 she coded when her bipap was either taken off or she pulled it off we really dont know what happened and apparently the staff doesnt either but regardless of what happened the hospital staff did not call to tell us that she coded ,we found out only after calling her room number to have another patient answer the phone . I called information to inquire about where she was and was told that she was moved to the ICU so I was transferred to the unit to be told the that she was actually moved to the palliative care after being told this I called nthe operator back and asked again where my mom had been moved to she tells me again that she is being shown as being in the ICU so once again I called the unit back and this time was told that she was in the unit after coding the night before, very poor communication and very unprofessional!!!

He was very rude. He didnt have an answer to anything he was asked. My sister is bed ridden and wanted an extra pillow. Her head was hurting. Her BP was 163/138; and his only response was I noticed that. Im assuming he was a tech because he wasnt educated enough to be a RN. Big pretty hospital full of incompetent workers.

Our daughter, Leah Blankenship, had a baby here. She received excellent care from admission to discharge. Nurse Emily was such an excellent Nursery nurse, teaching us about breast feeding, bathing, comforting her, etc. Emily was very supportive and gave our new baby a thorough exam in the nursery. She showed me the bath through the nursery window. Nurse Megan was an excellent Postpartum RN on her first day here. She helped Leah with her post-op pain, etc. She was also very supportive and informative. We appreciate all the other nurses who cared for Leah and her baby. The OB and Pediatric MDs were the best!!! The room was so comfortable and Leah’s husband slept in her room. Thanks to all of you. God bless you and yours!

Don’t go. Go to the animal vet before you go here. My son was sent home with someone else’s records. He was made to feel horrible about his condition. He was not allowed to call me to pick him up. They called a taxi for him instead. Which tripled his anxiety and panic attacks. These people are heartless. I should have known when there was no one in the waiting room. Go elsewhere. The covid floor is trash and they do not care who lives and who dies, unless it’s their own loved ones. For the love of god and all that is holy send your loved ones elsewhere or prepare funeral arrangements. The nurses will ignore your loved ones and make fun of you for calling to check on them. Many patients will ring the nurses for hours before they finally respond. Someone in hospital administration needs to spend a day there and see how truly awful that floor is. And I know others feel the same. There are lowkey social media groups talking about how terrible their loved ones were treated on that floor. No one knows how to get administration to review that floor, but IT NEEDS TO HAPPEN.

Did not care that they were sick and sent them away with zero treatments after being sick for over a week. He pretty much told them too bad. What kind of doctor does not offer treatments or even suggestions for the well-being of patients? Zero cares from the doctor. I do not recommend seeing Dr. Larochelle! I told my loved ones, if they do not improve soon, it would be worth making the drive to another hospital. Highly disappointed in the doctor and hospital! Every nurse I saw was so kind and extremely competent, and a special shout-out to Shay who is an absolute rockstar at putting in IVs. The anisthesiologist came and met with me personally and explained everything, which was great and they are all very concerned and diligent with patient informed consent, which was extremely reassuring. They did everything I could to ensure my comfort and we waited about the expected amount of time, so they were generally very timely and accommodating. It is also an extremely nice and new facility, extremely clean. The rooms are actual rooms with doors as well so it’s just you, very private. As far as that specific department, I was very impressed with the care and felt reassured every step of the way.

DO NOT go to this hospital. My aunts experience in ER was HORRIBLE - they treated her very badly. She was admitted for Covid.Miscommunication/lack of communication/ZERO communication. I spoke to her case manager on Saturday and discussed transferring her to rehab -- despite my feelings (and her feelings) that she wasnt ready to leave the hospital.I spoke to her on Monday morning - she said she was not being transferred to rehab after all because her oxygen levels had declined the night before.I left a message for the case manager on Monday (NO return call).Monday night, she finally answered - 8:06pm. She had been transferred to rehab and no one had notified us. She should have NEVER been moved from the hospital. She sounded bad - almost sedated. Stated that she was worried that the rehab facility did not have a bipap machine for her which she needed.I tried calling/texting her today - no response. At 4:50PM, we were notified that not only had she been brought back to ER earlier today, NO ONE TOLD US and now...shes INTUBATED.

My father has been at NAMC 16 days. He is currently in ICU on a ventilator. Our family has been trying to get a single daily update from any doctor treating him without success. I am able to go meet with his nurse daily and get updates during 10am visiting hour but the information is limited. After going through Director level staff a few updates were received from a doctor and then stopped again. The communication both internal and to the patents/patents families is terrible to say the least. It is clear there is administrative problem in solving this as there appears to be no one being held accountable for providing comprehensive patent information in reasonable intervals. I would not recommend this hospital and would transfer my father out if it were a safe option given his condition. There are some great people working at NAMC but not enough to save the sinking ship. My prayers are with the health care providers and the patents they see daily. Praying NAMC steps up there game.I am sure I will receive the following canned reply:Hello, if you wish to discuss your experience further, please reach out to our Performance Improvement department: (phone number). Thank youI did try to call this number before writing my review, unfortunately this number in NAMCs canned reply isnt a 24 hour number so they do not seem very concerned with actually receiving a response. The care by doctors and staff were adequate. So much is done electronically rather than personal interaction. Example: rather than seeing a nurse from time to time, I was monitored by approximate a dozen and half sensors attached to my frontal body. To collect and calculate the amount fluid I was discharging by urination, there was a cup located in the commode. My husband had to ask them at the Nurses Station to check and empty it as it was left unattended to the point of overflowing.Starting outside, the building and grounds were unkept. There are weeds in the flower area, cigarette butts and other debris by the front door and the benches. The flower beds should be maintained by the Landscape service. Posting of no smoking signs and enforcement of such and individuals trash by Security.Inside, debris was evident on the lobby floor, on the hallway floor of the 4th floor, in hall bathrooms, AND on the floor (considerable under my bed) of my room (#4402) where I spent Thursday evening through Sunday morning. Floor corners of bathrooms, patient rooms, AND the elevators are not being touched when cleaning. The sink counter top in my room had debris (pieces of paper?) stuck to it.The housekeeping staff seem as inefficient as they were at ECM, which was sadly poor. Shame! This beautiful new buildings appearance will deteriorate rapidly unless housekeeping does a better job.

My husband and I are currently at the er of this hospital. He has a kidney stone and is in great pain. We have been here a couple of times before and have waited three hours or so. We did not complain and we were patient. We have also had surgeries here as well. But tonight, in three hours and eight people in front of us, not one person has been called back for treatment in the ER. One lady told us she had been there since 5pm. I understand our country is in a pandemic but this still seems detrimental and discouraging to those coming for EMERGENCY care. This is not efficient and I hope the hospital finds some way to correct this. We plan to share this concern with our doctor because we have to have a more efficient plan of care for my husband. Hopefully people can begin to correct some major concerns that I have read in the other reviews concerning the ER.

I came back 4 days later with a fever and shortness of breathe. They immediately admitted me to the hospital and ran a barrage of tests on me to find out I had COVID pneumonia and began immediate treatment on me that evening. I spent the next 8 days in the hospital getting treated for COVID and Pneumonia and other COVID related issues.I will say the care I was provided by the nurses, respiratory aides, and technicians was nothing less than exemplary. I had a few issues ( we all do when we are sick and want immediate gratification) with my medicine machine buzzing loudly when it was done and it taking what felt like 30 minutes ( closer to 10-15 minutes ) to get someone to come in the room and turn off the machine..Unfortunately this was more of a common thing than an uncommon....But that would be my only complaint with the level of service I received.....I wish I had not had to be there but I would not hesitate to go back again if my symptoms relapsed and I truly beleive they cared about my well being and making sure I was comfortable during this trying time....

There were times when I had to physically go out and search for a nurse to help us. First we were told by the ER doctor that he had pneumonia, which then changed to a lung nodule, and finally gallstones. When I took him for his follow up with the surgeon that performed his procedure, I got the written copy of his CT scan which showed it was all clear. No nodules. No abnormalities. This place and its staff are AMAZING! I was admitted there Thursday morning from a different hospital. I was told I’d have to have my gallbladder removed, and a secondary procedure to remove stones from my common bile duct. From the moment I arrived, the nurses, doctors, and everyone in between were nothing short of amazing. The care that I received was top notch. Everyone from the surgeon to the housekeepers were so nice and accommodating. I will forever sing their praises and recommend their facility to anyone who needs medical treatment.

While waiting to go to a delivery room I wasn’t allowed to be in the room with my wife. After in the delivery room I wasn’t there to keep my wife from breaking down while she received the epidural due to some policy that no one was able to actually provide for me. Once it came time to deliver the nurses pushed me aside and wouldn’t let me stand near my wife without bumping one constantly out of the way. I was treated more like an unwanted donor. After delivery we was a better situation but still not even what I would classify as good. They were understaffed everyday, constantly nagging about wanting to send the baby to the nursery, we never saw the lactation nurse even after request, amongst other things. Luckily this was our third child and not our first so we knew what to do on most everything. We were even told by staff that they were glad we were experienced parents so they didn’t have to check on us. If you are having your first or second DO NOT go to this hospital it’s not worth the added stress and disrespect. I would suggest going to Helen Keller or drive all the way to Madison as both of those hospitals treat you like human beings not cadaver bodies. We do not plan on going to this hospital again for any reason.

I would advise staying away from this facility (previously named ECM). My mother a trained medical professional went there expressing that she knew she was having a stroke. Dr. Flowers sent her home telling her and her family that she was not having a stroke but just trying to get attention. The next morning my mother was found on the floor. She did have a stroke and because of that stroke is permanently paralyzed on one side of her body. Due to the arrogance and careless malpractice of Dr. Flowers my mother has to live the rest of her life without the use of one side of her body.

Our first experience at NAMC outpatient surgery center was terrific. We couldnt have been treated better or more professionally. Every employee and volunteer was kind to us. Even one of your employees who was clearly on a break went over and beyond to be helpful. I went to the cafeteria to have breakfast while my husband was having a small procedure done. The coffee dispenser was empty so when I mentioned it to the cashier as I was checking out, the lady behind me, who was an employee on her break, set her own food down and took my cup to get me coffee. I just wanted to say how proud you should be off your staff. We were well taken care of. Everyone was efficient and seemed happy to be there.

We can’t say enough about the wonderful staff at NAMC, amazing is not a big enough word! They were ALL there for us on the most important day of our lives, having our son Silas Evan. They cheered me on, they counted with me as I pushed, taught me how to breast feed, they helped me throughout the night, and they made decisions about my care that I will be forever grateful for. I would not for one second hesitate to recommend this hospital and this staff! 💙

My family is the most important thing in This world to me. My precious father was having severe back pain and had been to two other doctors. He made an appointment with Dr. Adderholt. He is already up and walking. Couldn’t be more thankful for these people. Thank u Eric Perry for making sure they were taken care of

The 5-4 stars shouldnt count when they are given by employees... state of the art buildings and equipment mean absolutely nothing if theres idiots with degrees attempting to operate them. Changed physicians just to prevent being sent to this nice building. I am talking about a physician that I said I would use until he retired and when he did I would be devastated. Im sorry but Im not going to be a patient in this facility until Im convinced of some MAJOR changes with their staff. If I could given a review without giving at least 1 star I would have. Travel to Vanderbilt, Birmingham, or Huntsville if its something that Helen Keller hospital cant do. Helen Keller may have an older buildings but the care provided is usually wonderful. And way more sanitary. Housekeeping comes in every patients room daily at Helen Keller. They also bring patients ice water regularly without patients having to ask and even offer snacks. NAMC, you need to get it together.

My Mother was taken to NAMC after a serious fall and stroke. I can not say enough about how tender, gentle and kind the staff treated her! Their compassion and care for not just their patient but also for the family during a very difficult and emotional time was something I have never experienced before. They cared for her like she was their own mother/grandmother! I cant thank them enough.

This is one of the most terrible places I’ve been, coming from a big city where I know if she’s 40 weeks and is more than 4 cm they will not send her home..but yet we’ve been discharged twice even tho her contractions are less than 5min apart. This is our first child and the whole maternity experience has been awful for her thanks to this facility. I strongly recommend finding another hospital to deliver your children. We will be going to another hospital as of tomorrow

Better healthcare!?? Rather than building a new hospital, you should have placed more focus on the service. Hire friendly nurses without attitudes and doctors that REALLY care for the well being of patients. Y’all also should have addressed the need for providing TIMELY service. This hospital is a joke! Same problems just different location.

The nurse at the window was helpful. They got him in a room quick. At first they seemed very attentive. A Dr came in within Abt 20 min. And gave us a * Quick educated GUESS by just * looking at him. So 3 hrs later and nothing!!! Wont go back again. But as far as the inside, yes a nice, new, up to date facility.

I had to go for a small very minor injury from work, which med plus would not see and had to go to the ER. I only waited in the waiting room for maybe 10-15 minutes. The wait in a exam room was a bit long, but I also understand that there were people there in worse shape than I was that needed attention first. All of the employees were very kind and personable. My experience was quite great considering the rate and the ridiculous reason I had to be there. No matter how minor, NAMC is there to help and serve the community!

My wife was told to call the day before surgery between 1 and 3 PM to get the exact time of her surgery. This is to insure the exact time because of rescheduling. They told her 5:45 AM. We arrive at preop on time for a nurse to say you wont go to surgery til 7:45 AM because another patient had changed their mind on there procedure. This is completely unprofessional because of the way a person has to get their time in a 2 hour window the day prior. The nursing staff is great, but the schedule protocol seems to have been written for no purpose at all. They finally came to get her almost 4 hours later than the supposed stream lined schedule department said. What a joke, I wouldnt recommend this hospital to my worst enemy.

My father in law was admitted last night to north Alabama medical center he has not been given any IV hes been asking for water for over hour no one will help and when asked they said they are busy he was transferred from Keller last night who gave a lot of care and cared !!! about the family.my mother in law is not even allowed to be by her husband side except at set times no one is watching him at north alabama medical center. Keller at least let his wife watch him and be by her husband side whats the point of having the state of art hospital when the staff doesnt care about the patients or family the staff needs to learn some bed side manners and have some compassion for family and there patients if it wasnt for needed a cardiac unit I wish he would go back to Keller were they care!!!!
