I have tried 6 business days trying to get a COVID 19 PCR test done in Manning at Mcleod Clarendon for a procedure being done at the Mcleod Florence. It is a 2 to 3 hour drive to Florence and then I have to go back 72 hours later for the procedure. It takes 72 hours to get the results. So it is impossible to get the test done. I thought if I did it at Mcleod Clarendon it would be in the system. I am 72 on oxygen can can not play these music chairs. Can not these hospitals work together instead of making it such an imposition on the patent which is causing me to just not have the test at all. I have been running around in a circle since last Fri.. The results take 72 hours to process. If i was to go in at 10:00 am the results would not be ready until Fri at at least 10:00 am and I am suppose to be in Florence by 8:00 am Fri. so how an i to take results with me if I have to leave the house by 6:00am to get to Mcleod Florence by 8:00am

Avoid McLeod digestive health. I have been very sick and in pain for almost a month. Ive been to my family doctor 4 times and the ER at Carolina Pines. My family doctor finally got me an appointment at McLeod. I drove from Hartsville yesterday thinking Id finally get some relief. No such luck I saw Dr. P for maybe 2 minutes. I was in terrible pain and told him that. He didnt care he ordered an egd and Colonoscopy. I went to the office to schedule it and was told that it would be 3 weeks before they could do it. I wasnt offered any help at all they didnt care and had no compassion at all. I have been living on mostly chicken broth and yogurt for a month. My stomach hurts so bad it wakes me up. Ive been having dry heaves and diarrhea. Ive lost 15 pounds in 3 weeks. Im hoping I can find another doctor to treat me

Got an ultrasound here today. The lady that performed it was nice enough. But I never even saw the doctor that apparently reviewed the images. Never came into the room. I didnt get to ask any questions. I was just told they said it looks fine, theres a sink over there where you can clean yourself up, when you walk out of the room take a right then a left and youre in the lobby. As little interaction as possible. I cant recommend anyone ever come to this facility.

Once again MeLeod continue to disappoints with their professionalism, work ethic and compassion for the patients who need to be seen.Even with the new building as I sit here today waiting hours I see how serious patients are taken. I never ever seen a staff move so slow when the place is not even that pack.Just sad, I can’t wait to move so I can find a better hospital. I personally wouldn’t give this Hospital any stars let alone one sta. it has been a horrific, stressful experience after a family member was admitted. She is a fall risk due to amputation and has had a bad case of nausea and diarrhea. After being admitted she has been threaten to be kicked out, poor assistance from nurses. They expected her to be her own nurse on several occasions, we’ve all been disrespected by the doctors. We’ve been called homeless, they have withheld information from us, disconnect our call when calling in for updates. Today we had to drive a hour to the hospital because of a doctor mistreatment. After responding to the doctor mistreatment they attempted to label her crazy and force her to take an anti depressant medicine. I would not recommend ANYONE to go here if you are a person of color and need proper care. They have been referring us to call numbers to file complaints, but no action.

I have been here for 3 hours and I am still in the lobby freezing. Some of the staff are very rude. My suggestion would be two ER’s this is a big city and it needs more than one ER. With two ers you can have one for medical emergencies and one like an urgent care facility.

They have a few bad nurses, they don’t know anything & very disrespectful. They have been mistreating patients, leaving them in their own diarrhea and expecting fall risk patients to care for themselves. The process to file complaints is just a bunch of meaningless words & being provided numbers. there’s patients that fear for their safety while in their care.

Was brought into the hospital from another hospital. Twice, and both times I was a admitted patient. Was on 8th floor first time and then the 10th the second time and the Doctors running both floors were great as well as the Nurses and Techs on those floors all. both shifts that ran around the clock. I was there at least 5 days each stay.Very attentive and on the ball. Surgeons Dr. Pannu, Dr.Murrell and Dr.Richey are very good Doctors, explained everything and was open to any and all questions and patient with me. Now the out patient staff are a different story. Kept saying masks are mandatory. I have COPD and had to pull mask aside to catch my breath. Lady at booth 1 and at front desk when I went in last to see Dr.Pannu was very ignorant to me. When I got up she sprayed Lysol everywhere and then had a conversation with another staff member for at least 5 minutes who had no mask on what so ever. I didnt notice til other patients in the waiting room told me.to look up. Yup; lady had no mask on talking away with lady in booth 1. All this after getting a COVID 19 test which came up negative or I am sure I would not have got the appointment to begin with. Hence the 4 stars. That minus 1 star goes to out patient registration.

Tonight I arrived at this “Mcleod Urgent Care” there mission should be to strive for excellent patient care ! Well unfortunately tonight that did not happen! Closing time is 8:00 I arrived at 7:55 pull on the door it was LOCKED!! I called spoke with the lady at the front @ 7:57 who said she just seen me when I pulled on the door, but they were not seeing any more patients because they were shutting down! I asked twice are u “denying patient care” she continued to say we are shutting down! Gladly I’m a praying individual and I know that I’ll be fine! What hurts the most is this lady did not know if I was dying, or in serious need of medical attention ! Yes ! I know that you’ve worked alllll day and you’re tired, but when working in a medical facility from the time u clock in until you are off that clock should be focused on “patient care” !!! After speaking to a nurse at 8 unfortunately I still could not be seen because they were now technically closed ! I hope this messages allows each employee to understand the importance of patient care and anytime you can help someone is a blessing on your behalf ! If “patient care” is not your focused then working in a medical facility is not up for u ! What hurts the most is that this wasn’t a dummy mission I was having chest discomfort!

I had good service from all the employees dealing with my injuries. However, they did not send any pain medication with me to the rehab facility so I had two days in severe pain as the facility got my meds from Raleigh. The issues I had was the Social Worker. She spoke with me on my first day and we discussed where I would be going after my surgery. I requested a rehab facility close to my home. I would hear from the staff that I was being moved the next day. This went on for several days. Finically I got frustrated and was complaining. The Social Worker came in my room and told me why I was not being moved today. Fine I understand but I should have heard that earlier from her. (this is my complaint she never informed the person she was assisting with any information). She also told the facility that I was not ready to be moved. This was not true. No issues if you are upfront and honest with a patient.

We ALWAYS have to follow up with Medical Records regarding those requested to be faxed. Usually the request has to be made two or three times. My husbands first visit was processed through ER. He had been transported via ambulance, a 45 minute ride. During the 7 days he was being watched in ICU, we never had a diagnosis, or even talked with a doctor regarding his condition. I flagged down the floor supervisor, with name badge declaring him a physician. He didnt seemed concerned that we had questions. Didnt even want to pull up my husbands chart, even though there were tests, MRI, CT scan which should have been recorded. We were discharged to a Rehab Center after 7 days. Never was offered followup! Never received a diagnosis. My husbands second visit was processed through a neurosurgeon NOT associated with the McLeod group. We received daily visits and updates from the surgeon, and received the BEST care ever! We were in and out in 3 days, into rehab, and no problems. Guess the moral of the story is to stay away from McLeod group physicians!

Worst hospital on the planet. I first went to their little emergency clinic to try to get help, I get hives frequently so I asked since I was new to the area to call my doctor and to get what they do. After they got off the phone they COMPLETELY ignored everything my doctor said and gave me a different treatment which never works I tried to tell the but they did not listen to me. The next day I woke up and my hives were worse I called the emergency clinic back and THEY REFUSED TO SEE ME telling me to go to the hospital. I went there with an allergic reaction the day of my birthday and the nurse kept telling me I had no reason to be there because nothing was wrong with me. Even though I was covered in hives. I just brushed it off because bad day sat there and relaxed as the IV drip did its thing. I was on my way. Later that afternoon I ended up covered in hives for a third time but they were worse. I went back to the ER and asked what medications they gave me and they told me. It ended up being a medication I had REFUSED because I told them I was allergic to it. I walked back in and that same nurse was standing at the nurses station telling the others I was just there for drugs that there was nothing wrong with me. Mind you they rushed me back because the hives was on my face and my face was swelling, but no nothing was wrong with me. I called that next week and spoke to the administration and told them what happened they said that they would write my name and number down and they would get back to me. They never did. Then I called when I got my first bill talked to them again they promised to get back to me. I called in January they promised to get back to me. All times they told me not to worry about making payments on my bill that this matter would be taken care of. Now were in February I still have not heard from them, and now my bill was sent to collections. I paid the bills to get them out of collections but Im completely done with this hospital.

Mcleod Hospital is one of the only facilities in the area that is equipped to handle numerous medical conditions and or needs; however, this does not mean they are the best. Its actually contrary to their The Choice of Medical Excellence. My first impression of Mcleod was the lack of cleanliness. Garbage cans in the Pavilion entry and waiting area were overflowing with trash. The restrooms were unkept and barely useable. Improvements to their janitorial services needs a much needed face lift.According to their value of person, they commit to giving each patient respect and courtesy. I received less than that. Here I am in a room completely exposed, no curtains dividing the space amongst me, with staff coming in and out without any regards to my privacy. I had to ask them to please close the door. I feel so uncomfortable and under valued.Mcleod of Florence really needs to go back to the drawing table when it comes to patients care, respect and confidentiality. Truly listen to what the community is saying and work towards making some much needed improvements.I could go on, but I rather not. I could not, would not recommend this hospital to any of my family or friends under good conscience. There is some serious work that needs to be done here.I gave three stars to be nice.

She NEVER came in the room with an update. Even though they have a sign that states “one of our staff members will be in every hour to update you on your progress.” We had to ask other nurses on the floor for an update. The first time Jessica even stated”I won’t know nothing. You all will know something before I ever will.” Why would anybody say this to a patient? Just very unprofessional and seemed as if she did not care. You mean to tell me you don’t chart notes for your patient the entire time your patient is there? The room and hospital was very dirty. It just seemed as if no one cared. Jessica even bought in a dirty cart to do my mother’s blood work. It had someone else previous blood work on the cart. Jessica also was very slow with answering our questions. She also just seemed to just be “there.” But never was she attentive to her patient nor my mom questions and or concerns. I even asked to speak the director and she never gave me her information nor informed the lady. Being that I work in the field, I was very upset with the care my mom received from the time she got an room until her discharge. I would not recommend this hospital for any type of care at all. My niece had a terrible virus in December 2019 and she got really dehydrated so we took her to the ER. First of all they should have a separate area for children so everyone is not packed together. The staff in the Emergency Room on a Saturday dont move with any sense of urgency at all. Everyone walks incredibly slow and theyre more interested in gossiping than helping people apparently. It took about 4 hours of waiting for them to prepare a room for my niece as she was severely dehydrated. When a room became available an elderly lady was cleaning it very slowly as we waited on her to finish cleaning it. The lady who led us there didnt bother to help her or offer to find another room instead of waiting another 20 minutes. She seemed only willing to do the bare minimum. I was gonna help the lady clean myself after waiting 4 hours but luckily a gentleman offered us another room that was available. All in all the people in the E.R. need to move with a sense of purpose when the place is full of ailing people who need help and they need to at least pretend like they care about people. They need to do more than just the bare minimum and help each other. Once my niece saw a doctor and was moved to the Pediatric area the nurses and doctors were much better in how they treated her. I appreciate their help in getting her back to hydrated but I hate that it was such a nightmare in getting to that point. McLeod really needs to look at how things are done at hospitals like the Greenville Memorial Hospital. The experience there was the complete opposite. Learn from these reviews McLeod and get better.

This would have been a perfect visit, except for Dr. Debra L. Wheeler, who refused me my ARVs. Otherwise, my nurse Alyssia and my nurse tech, Lindsey were spectacular. They were very attentive to my needs and my care. Unfortunately, one person can make an awesome experience, terrible. And as long as Debra Wheeler is an employee here, I will not step foot in this hospital. Ill go to PrismaHealth/Richland first. But if she wasnt here, or if shed just approved my meds, like her shift replacement did, I would have given this hospital 5 stars.

My great aunt fell down the stairs at her house and we rushed her here. She had a hole in her intestines and her kidneys failed. Even her lungs collapsed. She was put on a machine that breathed for her. The nurses were hard to find and when you found them they were sitting around talking. They clearly did not know what they were doing. One day they took out the tube that gets her to breathe. We came to see her and she was struggling to breathe. We asked the nurses to come help her and they said It was normal. Around twenty minutes later she coded and had to be resuscitated using CPR. This cycle repeated 3 times. She died three times. There is no excuse for this. I hope my great Uncle sues the pants off of everyone in that building. We had to transfer her because yall could not do your jobs. Then we were told she had brain damage. Then one nurse told us she didnt. This cycle repeated 2 times until we were finally told she didnt. Its so sad to have such a nice building with worthless nurses and doctors. The only thing I found satisfactory was the Starbucks.

Take my advice stay clear of McLeod! Especially ER Dr. James. I think she must have gotten her degree from some remote island. Example of the ER, I was struck by a semi truck and these dumdasses MISSED a broken vertebrae in my back and neck. Surgery to the tune of nearly $250,000 at a hospital in Atlanta. Dr. James was not attending that day but miss diagnosed problems my wife was having. WTF!

The staff in the heart / vascular ICU were outstanding with my uncle. The nurse was very patient and caring and kept us informed, answering all of our questions. I think Dr Hazelwoods roll there is also one of ministry. Although they were not able to save my uncles life because of multiple problems, the staff was very supportive in our decision to remove him from life support. They made this process easier because of their care and counsel. After my uncle passed, Dr Hazelwood sang a hymn over him. Never have I experienced such a caring doctor.

The nurses were great to me! There is this one male tech who pulled and pulled the rubber band tourniquet until it gave me a rub burn with trying to draw blood. My arm was black and blue around that area. Then the new doctor comes in and sends me home right in the middle of hurricane Florence. I told him I live in a danger zone area and you are sending me back there in my condition. I have a server bowel obstruction and it had not resolved yet when he threw me out. His answer to this problem was to hand me a 12 page listing of shelters.. In my condition you want me in a shelter? Seriously!! When family and friends called to talk to management they hung up on everyone...even my kids.Food is horrible... Who eats sweet tomato soup? It was sweet like koolaid! Chicken salad sandwich was chicken on hard white bread and a mayo pack.. I dont even know why they ask what you want for your next meal because they never bring you what you order.Id like to say that the nurses were great..

Save yourself time, effort, frustration, rage and more. If you are looking for quality care do not go to the Digestive Health facility here. I am sick and my life is suffering. My work is suffering, my family life is suffering, my sleep is suffering and my quality of life is terrible right now. Here is the process I have had to go through: I have an appointment, have to wait 1 week to get my results, have to wait 1 week for a follow up appointment for them to schedule another procedure that is a week out then a week for the results, a week for the follow up appointment. Do you see where I am going with this? I have been trying to figure out what is wrong with me FOR MONTHS. The straw that broke the camels back today, I spent 5 MINUTES....FIVE MINUTES in the with Dr today just so he could tell me the same thing the nurse told me over the phone A WEEK AGO and for him to tell me he was going to schedule me a surgical consult. So now I have to pay $50 for an office visit for him to tell me the same thing the nurse told me over the phone. WHY?! could that not have been done a week ago when my test results came back AND NOW I have to wait another WEEK for my surgical consult. No compassion, caring, empathy or urgency for someone who is sick. My father was in the army we moved around a lot Ive been to several hospitals, had several different doctors, nurses, admin staff but I have never been treated like they didnt care and like I didnt matter and like my health concern was no big deal. This place is just the worst.

So, my mother is passing in the hospital and the hospital only allows one visitor for the duration of the time she is in the hospital. So being that her husband was her first visitor, none of her children (myself included) can visit her. She wants us to visit, but the hospital won’t allow us.With the recent release from the CDC only 6% of patient died Soley from COVID. So to stop people visiting their dying family members and to allow people to die alone and afraid, without family is not only wrong but inhumane.

My husband Herman was a patient in the cancer center for a year and a half. He was always treated with respect and compassion. I can’t say enough praises for this department. Not one time did we ever experience and person in a bad mood. The same goes for Mcleods Oncology office as well. They all made a very difficult situation a very pleasant experience. I have since loss my husband to his battle of Liver cancer. But I know he’s not suffering any longer . I want to Thank McLeods for hiring the most compassionate staff I’ve ever dealt with. I personally was in healthcare for over 45 yrs prior to my retirement. Thanks again

The level of care has taken a downward spiral since 2009. You have doctors thats more concern about Medicare rules, than the patients health. You have nurses, especially on the third floor observation main tower that dont take the time to communicate with the patient or the patients family members and administer medication to the patient. When asked about the medication the nurse seems to become frustrated that someone is actually questioning their judgment.

I had a heart attack 2 days after Christmas in 2017 I had a 100 percent blockage and needed two stents. While I was recovering they found lung cancer I have been operated on tumor was removed and three lymph nodes . Which two came back positive for cancer so I had chemo and radiation I could never say enough to say how much the cancer center means to me. The Doctors, nurses, and everyone that has helped me through this scary time in my life. They all treated me with care and genuine compassion and the follow up is just amazing. My Surgeon does my ct scans and watches me for anything that pops up he is the best Doctor and an amazing human being. My radiation oncologist and medical oncologist are two of the best Doctors at what they do, they helped me through the treatments and have stayed by my side from start to finish and are still watching over me.And now for the nurses at McLoed they are some of the best nurses that you will ever find the cancer center nurses are the most hard working and compassionate ladies ever. I have had a lot of complications from the treatments I have had done, so I have come in contact with a great deal of different nurses there and I can tell you this they all are top notch and the best at what they do. And they are a very big reason this hospital is the great hospital that it is. Thank you McLoed you guys saved my life and may God bless each and everyone of you wonderful folks. And to the Cancer Center coordinator Tarra she is the best she has been with me through this ordeal from start she is a wonderful lady caring, compassionate and she is very good at her job. Thank you to all the folks at McLoed you are the best.

Going to the hospital is never fun, but the doctors and especially the nurses who cared for me during a 4 day stay here were AMAZING. This is the worst hospital to go to in SC. My sister went to see a doctor for her leg,and literally have been there for 9 hours without seeing a doctor. When you get to the back the nurses and doctors are on their cell phones, engaging in random conversations. Most of them act like they dont know their jobs or act like they are high on drugs. I absolutely hate going to this hospital. I regret using them as my go to for my delivery. If you need to see a reliable doctor please go to MUSC because you will be on a 12hr shift with the doctors and nurses if you go here.

We waited 2 1/2 hrs to get a room the the doctor said she couldnt deal with my daughters situation right now, so they sent us back to the waiting room, so family, we had to go through a different door to get to the back to where there were no rooms over just curtains covering the bed, the whole time at the hospital took 5 hours, my daughter had a virus. But nothing back took surgery or anything, so why will we meet yall for 5 hours, things to make it so bad, I had just got off of work before I brought her to the hospital, so I was exhausted, we were in the back, my daughter was sleeping in the bed, I slept next to her and after they took blood and her urine they made us get come from out of the back and into the waiting area again, we were the only patient, my daughter was the only patient they did like that, very unprofessional, very inconsiderate. And ridiculous long waitnot to mention the hospital has dirty floors the walls are dirty everything is old the bed linen was dirty not the bed we laid in but the bed they ask her to take her blood pressure in I will never go back to this hospital as long as I can help it

My deceased husband and I were patients at McLeod many, many times. We NEVER had a bad experience. They have always been my choice...my only hospital. The staff are absolutely wonderful, as well as the physicians. I cannot say enough about Dr. McKay, Dr. Pavy, and Dr. Player. They are wonderful and compassionate. I have read the other reviews, and I cannot believe that people had that experience. All I can say is that it is definitely not typical of this hospital, and if you are in need of great medical attention, then you should choose McLeod in Florence.

This is not the place you want to have a major surgery at. I have a story to share. I’ll be back when I get it all together from the notes I was able to keep on my phone. But I’m telling you this place must have gone downhill or something. Nursing staff and CNA staff need to be disciplined, many need to be fired! and they need to decide if this line of work is something they want to stick with because as it stands patients would be better off with new nurses rather than this sorry, lazy, whining, negligent bunch.

I had an appointment with Dr. Fanelli (McLeod Dermatology Associates) this month. I called the day before my appointment to confirm the time. I was shocked when I got the office voicemail stating that the office had closed down in February! Honestly, it wasn’t that the office was closed, it was that they never called to notify me. I would have driven almost an hour to get to their office. A courtesy call would have been professional.

I normally love this hospital, but it seems as though their ER has been extremely understaffed as of late. We had a miscarriage in their ER and it was 7-8 hours before we were even taken back. Now my grandmother has fallen and we are in the same situation. Maybe I am missing something but I just think that a top notch facility like this would have better staffing.

I am 69 years old and this was the first time I have ever spent more than a few hours night (2 nights) in a hospital. The professionalism of the staff was very impressive. The facilities were first class. Follow up was very personal and attentive to my recovery status.I would recommend anyone who seeks a state of the art, ,caring and trustworthy medical facility to go to McLeod.Special thanks to McLeod Family Medicine and Doctor Jason Heilemann for starting the detective trail to finding the root cause of my medical condition.
