I like the doctors. However being a patient with them for almost 10 years and now we call to book appts and it first available is 4 months out. Obviously they are taking on more patients than they can handle. Too long of a wait when we arent even new patients. Finding another doctor rather than wait. I understand a month maybe 2...4 months is a doc showing me they dont have time for it. Lost 4 patients my immediate family and bout 5 more in other family members. We noticed a few years back it was getting longer and longer...4 months is too long tho.

Kay is wonderful she is very knowledgeable, always willing to help, and makes going there a very pleasant experience. The doctors have been wonderful and I now take my son there for his eye care needs. Trust is everything to me and I trust them with my family.

I have been a patient for years with great experience. This last year I was having trouble focusing on my computer screen. Dr Julie suggested computer glasses. What a great difference they have made ... especially working at home long hours on the computer! So happy with my computer glasses!

February 8th my younger son had a appointment with the Covington location while waiting to go back to see the eye doctor the lady at the Front desk Kay was super helpful and nice my youngest son talked her ear off and she didn’t mind at all lol.

Metzgers Eye Care is the best in the tristate, they are so humble and make you feel like you are apart of there little family. Iv never met nicer people. I highly recommend going to this establishment for all your eye care needs.Thanks for all you Ladies and Gentlemen do. You all deserve a “Best Practice of The Year Award”I LOVE MY NEW GLASSES! Wont be back, the lady working there made my 2 year old and husband wait outside even though we would have been socially distanced as according to kentucky regulations. she measured my eyes and held the contraption in the wrong manner pushing against me at the wrong angle, not sure if this affected the quality of my glasses. when arriving to pick up my glasses the lady didnt try to see if they fit well and tried to rush me off. overall rude and treated me different because of my looks prejudice. they didnt even give me a hardcase for my glasses, I asked for one and the woman helping me looked at the other woman to see if she should (as if other customers have recieved hard case for free) then stated I would have to pay extra. please just drive a little further to somewhere else its worth the extra effort not to come here.

My child needed an eye exam to enter kindergarten. I called my insurance to ensure it would be covered, which it was and Metzger was listed as a preferred provider so we chose them. When scheduling, and at the visit, I informed them it was for school enrollment and provided them with the paper that needed to be completed. Apparently the eye exam was billed/coded as a comprehensive eye exam FOR A FIVE YEAR OLD WITH NO PREVIOUS ISSUES. I was billed $135 for the visit even though I went out of my way to check with my insurance and this Optomitrist to ensure I wouldnt get charged an astronomical amount for a basic, required exam. I would never recemmoned them.

This place is HORRIBLE!!!. If you buy glasses from here DO NOT EXPECT ANY HELP AFTER YOU HAVE PAID FOR THEM! The lady at the glasses counter could care less and is not willing to help at all and gives you terrible attitude. The arm fell off of my glasses less than 2 weeks after I bought them and they wouldnt do a thing to help. She pretty much said oh well! Sorry for your luck! So if you buy glasses from here you better not break them or need any help at all! Because this place is absolutely useless after they have your money! If I could give negative stars for this place I would!

What a fantastic experience.. This brought me back to a couple decades ago in my life where customer service, professionalism and friendliness used to be the norm. To say this entire staff went above and beyond what I’m used to in a average doctors visit is an understatement. They made me feel welcomed, taken care of and important as an individual. If your searching out eye care, please give Metzger a try as I know like I was you’ll be wow’ed!

I want to WARN all my friends and family about the poor billing practices at METZGER EYE CARE in Florence. I am sorry this will be long.In January I had my regular eye exam, as my family has done for over 20 years. I told them that my eyesight would deteriorate some due to one of the medicines I take regularly and that the last time I was in I was told i needed bifocals. I usually wear contacts but I need to adjust to wearing glasses. I specified that I did NOT want to get contacts this time nor the fitting, just the glasses. Insurance does not cover both.So as I was looking at glasses the employee told me that the copay AND the scratch proof coating came to $33. Awesome, set me up.When I went to the front to pay for that i was informed that my total was $78. WHAT?? I asked what happened to the $33 and they informed me that they did the contact fitting and it is $45. I reminded them that I specified that I did NOT want contacts just glass but they told me I was responsible because it was already done. I reiterated that I did not want contacts but they said they could not change it. So I paid $40 down and was to pay the rest when I picked up my glasses.The next week I got a phone call that the $33 DID NOT INCLUDE the $25 copay, and it would be added to my total. Again I disagreed with them and that that was not my fault that their employee screwed up because I questioned her several times when I chose my glasses and chose against the bifocals which isnt covered by my insurance.Three days later I received YET ANOTHER call that there was an additional fee of $35 for processing the glasses because they did not have the color I wanted in stock. I again argued that this fee was not mentioned at the time of the order and I should not be responsible for this fee. It was their employees mistake not mine. Again I was told they could not change policy or the insurance would not pay and I would be responsible for the eye exam and the full amount of the glasses.I picked up my glasses yesterday, 5 months after ordering them. Petty? Yes. I also let them know that they just lost a family that had been coming to them for over 20 years because of their poor customer service and sketchy billing policies. ONLY THEN did they offer to remove the fee for the contact fitting, nothing else. Of course I had already paid for the balance of everythiing. I told them to shove it and give me my copy of the contact fitting and glasses information. AGAIN they argued with me stating that since I did not get the contacts from them I could not have the information. I then lost it and begain raising my voice in front of all the other patients and said since they did it, charged me, and it was paid for, they would give me the information or my lawyer was the next call. By the way, I do not have a lawyer on retainer LOL.Rant over, but I hope I have helped just one friend chose another eye care provider!

Excelent atention. I was in Florence for a business trip. I got an eye infection in the airport. I googled eye doctor and decided to go to Metzger.Excelent atention from the receptionists (specialy Liz) and the doctor. The doctor knew right away what my problem was. I used the drops as she recommended and got back to Mexico with no further problem.

When my 8 month old was prescribed glasses. I ended up waiting 2 months for his glasses when it was only supposed to be a week. I dont think the lady ever sent the form in for the pre-authorization. It should have never taken that long ! Then when they finally did arrive they ended up being too big. The glasses slid down his nose constantly and wouldnt sit right on his face. I looked up the model number and it said the glasses are made for a 5-8 year old child. I took them back and explained they fitted him with ill fitting glasses. The lady looked at them on him and tried to act like everything was fine. I demanded a smaller size to which she did finally agree...... and waited 3 weeks that time for the new pair. Also, Vina is rude to customers and isnt very good with kids and gets aggravated easily

I would strongly urge anybody looking to find another doctor. The staff here is incredibly rude and doesnt care, and the pricing is far beyond what it should be.

I was visited this eye care center and get the bi-focal glass. But stupidly , the lady got the wrong measurement of my bi-focal. That is absurd , i went there to get fixed , its a pain in the butt.

I would like to give a zero if i could. I was very unsatisfied with the product as well as the service. I work 3 jobs to support my family and yes i do get state insurance and i should NOT be made to feel like i was below you..because trust me i tried to find other places but its very limited. I needed bifocals and was told they will not pay for progressive which i understand so i paid the 70 dollars to get no line i picked the glasses up and they were just handed to me and out the door i was sent, i went to work the next day and tried them but could not see. So i brought them back and was told if i want the wide progressive i would have to pay another 100 dollars which why was i not told that to begin with. I asked if i could return the glasses and get my 70.00 back and was told no, then i said fine ill just take the progressive off and just have regular glasses and i can get cheaters..what i was told was we already put time in the glasses so that cant be done i have filed a grievance with wellcare and will not refer anybody to this placs and told the insurance company this as well.
