I had a frint tooth break off and no insurance so I went to Lecom. Bad mistake, they put me through as very long series of appointments and when it came time to finally put in a new tooth they said they needed to do a root canal which cost more than I could afford. So I talked to my neighbor and he said just get a floor like I did. So I had to set another appointment with the and found out they could do a floor much cheaper. I suspected that they wanted to do the root canal for practice and as much practice as they could get out if me. So the covid thing happened and when they were open again I went in and was told that my molds had been thrown away and I had to start over again. A cleaning appointment a mold appointment a consultation and then the back and forth of making a floor and it going to the lab and back and so on. They refused to just make my flipper tooth and said that they wouldnt deviate from starting all over at x Rays. They kept insisting everything was a year old but I didnt break my tooth until 9 months prior. I find this to be very unethical

They are super nice. I realize its a teaching pratice, but very knowledgeable. The professors are local dentists that have retired. You will recognize them n their names. Can be a long process, but worth it. Have friends who use them in Fla!

Be prepared to jump through hoops! They want you to come in a lot of different times and then pay 80% of what a real Dentist would charge. They take a long time to do things. The only thing worth the visit was the x-rays. I got my teeth cleaned for $45 and no one checked my mouth when the student was done. My son had a small cavity they would not fill because it was too small?? The student graduated that was treating me so they wanted me to get another first time look before they would progress. Not worth my time to me. I will not be going back.

The dentist was talking so loud to his student about my daughters medical history... everyone could hear :( He never came in room to discuss his decision ..left the student alone to handle :(

Interesting concept for student learning but you need to give yourself plenty of time to wait during appointment.

My husband was a patient for the last 2 years. The first year went pretty well, had a crown put on an implant(that was done elsewhere since LECOM does not do implants) and a bridge placed. The doctors and his student were very good the first year. The second year was with another student, & had to wait until he had enough training to place a crown on a 2nd implant. After multiple impressions for the crown there was a problem with the screw(it was stripped by the student) so He had to go to a specialist and pay for him remove the screw before the crown could be placed. That cost an additional $150. LECOM also raised the price for the crown by a substantial amount from the price paid for the one done the previous year. After the crown was finally placed correctly, he asked that the $150 that He paid to the specialist be credited toward the remaining balance. They stated that the screw was stripped by the specialist that did the implant, & refused to credit my account. When He was paying the balance and asked to schedule a cleaning, He was told not to come back & was terminated as a patient. My husband feels that you should not trust them to do any procedures other than cleaning, cavities and tooth pulling. Expensive lesson learned, stick with the specialists for anything else. The students need to learn from their mistakes and not have the responsible parties try and blame another experienced dentist.

The students are nice but they arent very experienced. I just went to a new dentist after going here and they said the cavity wasnt on the nerve while the lecom dentist said it was. They also miscounted the amount of cavities I have. Im glad I switched dentists.

The residents do a great job. Their preceptors oversee their work and it has always been too notch when they take care of me.

I feel the student did a great job. My one star comes into affect after 2 extractions, the student ask the teacher to double-check and everything was good to go. A day or so later I was noticing some severe pain felt my gum with my tongue and there was pieces of tooth sticking out of three different spots. From where the two extractions were done. I notify Lecom and they wanted to get me in that very day except they got me in the next day which is cool to me and I thought was very professional. So anyways I go in there to get these pieces of tooth removed the teacher does not numb me or nothing. Had stuck some numbing agent ON the tooth not even the gum. Grabs the plier looking extraction tool and starts pulling away. I was in so much pain my back was arched like a dam rain bow. The teacher ended up snapping the piece off tooth more with more tooth still bedded inside my gum and says i dont have all my tools youll have to wait a month until the students come back. I missed an extra two days off work because of the severe pain i was in do to the UNPROFESSIONALISM. why have me come in if your not properly prepared? I was in the office for a max of 5 minutes. No care or consideration just hey i tried sorry about your luck. No numbing agent. No adequate amount of tools. Need i say more? Unprofessional.

My name is Jeff my wife and I were patients there along with our children until a few months ago. My wife and I both had gotten severe infections in our mouths and they said everything was ok there wasnt anything wrong. My repairs they did fell out and refused to correct them properly one tooth they did their fix was flushing it with my gum and leaving a side wall up one repair to my wifes teeth they didnt seal right and had rotted in to the gum and they said it was fine. I also waited a few hours during the students exams where they take people and fix their teeth for the exam sense I wasnt used as a test person and I still had come in they said the teeth they were going to work on where suppose to be taken care of never got them fixed bc they had no idea for the new group Ive had one of the teachers laugh at me bc of the repair done to my mouth by a student I have filed with the BBB and will be filing with an attorney bc so far we are paying out of pocket with what our insurance doesnt pay to fix their screw ups and its already cost well over a grand between us both out of pocket. No one should go to this place at all for work

Students do a great job. They know their stuff I only have 1 complaint...they dont give any pain meds when you get teeth pulled. They told me to take Tylenol n Advil which at the moment I cant afford, not that it would help the pain anyway. I got 10 teeth pulled today n they said typical extractions they dont give pain meds. How is 10 teeth typical? If they had written me a script my insurance would have paid for it. I didnt have the money to buy tylenol or Advil let alone both so here I am after midnight in excruciating pain, cant eat n there is nothing I can do. I have been in tears all night n there is no pain relief. I honestly think I am going to make appt with my regular Dr to see if they will give me something. I am in serious pain and I am not a drug addict. Just a poor patient who had 10 teeth pulled and had to come home and tend to her family. Getting teeth pulled hurts typical or not
