An awesome museum for any aviation enthusiast 🛩️. So so many gliders packed in here it is unreal !! Definitely lots to learn about and see 😋 . And ask about getting a glider ride (depending on the time if year you visit!)

We got to the Hill late, after 4:45, during a xcountry road trip. It was almost 5, and the staff was closing. He let us come in and get some gifts, as well as look at a few gliders. While not a full tour, the staff went out of his way to make us feel welcome and stayed open a bit late to allow us some time at the museum. After, our son was able to be squeezed in for his first glider flight, it all worked perfectly. Would highly recommend Harris Hill to anyone travelling within 100 miles. Its worth the detour just to see the gliders soaring. Being on the top of the hill, with a high drop is nothing like other soaring places where the land is level and plains.

Awesome old planes, got to see several soaring planes being taken up by a old bi-plane. It was amazing to watch the process to take them up high enough, then let the cord go! My daughter said that they can soar for up to 40 minutes, if they can catch enough uplift.

My sister and I convinced my nephew to go up on a glider ride, and he was very ecstatic afterwards. The museum is a must for anybody involved in the glider community. A bunch of history combined with the awesome exhibit me to say five out of five stars. The gift shop is worth mentioning because they have a lot of items and souvenirs that you can purchase.

We were blown away by the extensive collection and presentation of information. It is high quality. An upscale museum with modern decor. In addition to gliders, there are miniature dollhouses on display in a separate area. Something for everyone. The curator and his wife are so friendly, welcoming and their pride of ownership is apparent. A top notch experience. My only regret is our time table did not allow me to take a glider ride. Make time for this. You will not be disappointed

Admittedly Im a bit of a nerd and I love a well put together museum. This place is well organized and founded in far more history than I had even considered may be possible. The displays are well put together and the staff are both knowledgeable and very kind. This place is a gem. And to boot, the view from the museum is breathtaking. Ill recommend this place to just about anyone. This museum does good justice to a unique and fascinating part of our history and that of flight.

This is a great place to learn about glider/sailplane history, with several refinished sailplanes to look at. Its not a big place but you can spend 2 hours looking and learning. There is a lot of aviation history in this area, which is the soaring capital of the world. The gift shop has a variety of aviation and NSM gifts and paraphernalia. Its well worth an afternoon trip.

Absolutely amazing experience!!! I was nervous about soaring and wasnt sure I could get past my nerves, but thankfully I did! We got there early on a Sunday morning about a half hour before they opened as we had read it was first come first serve. We ended up being the first in line, but people quickly arrived behind us. The people running the office, selling the tickets and keeping everything organized, however young were outstanding. We were so impressed with everyone we met there. They were able to get more pilots in quickly because so many people had showed up. The pilots volunteer their time. My pilot was a retired United Airlines pilot who was wonderful. He explained everything that was happening, pointed out sights and kept making sure I was okay. We had a gorgeous day and you could see for miles and miles. We were up in the air about 20 minutes, it was exhilarating at relaxing at the same time. Since there is no motor it really is peaceful, soaring around, in and out of clouds - I didnt want it to end. It was an absolutely once in a life time experience! We were headed to the Finger Lakes via Corning and when I saw you could take glider rides at Harris Hill...well, how could we pass that up!

I was at the soaring museum for the unveiling of a piece of artwork. It strikes me as odd that after 40 years the place is still pretty much the same. I dont believe they have any outreach, I dont believe they have an educators position, it feels very static. It feels like a morgue instead of a celebration of the milestones of aviation that have occurred in this region.

I visited the museum with my husband and two children. While there one of the employees proceeded to yell at my children, which I found unappropriate and unacceptable as a staff member. After she yelled down the stairs without addressing myself or my husband, she quickly walked away. I approached her on the matter as I was very upset that as a paying guest that we were treated so poorly. When I asked to speak with her, she responded very rudely you will need to wait! After I voiced my complaint, she proceeded to maintain her tone of disregard and lack of respect towards museum guests. She handled my complaint by dismissing it and declaring that my children were making noise the entire time we were there. I was unaware that guests were not allow to speak while there. She was a poor reflection on the facility and I was very upset and disturbed that a complaint was not received in a professional manner and I will certainly not be returning there again. When asked for her supervisors information, she refused to give it to me, another indication of her level of rudeness and disrespect. Not only towards me but her job.
