I felt like I was part of a money making process for the dentist rather than a patient they actually cared about. Then when I found out that they AUTO RENEW their dental plan and that you have to opt OUT rather than opt IN to start with only confirmed my opinion that Otsego Dental is clearly focused on themselves BEFORE their patients.Be careful and read the details of your agreement as they did NOT notify me that the agreement I was signing was an AUTO RENEW plan which is sneaky and they cant be trusted to do the right thing by their patients. Its about Otsego Dental first! Not my kind of dentist!!

Came in for a checkup after 6 years without dental work. Had 4 cavities filled/fixed in less than two hours of chair time with Dr. Elton. He was professional and quick, and he explained the work that needed to be done in simple terms (even i understood). The dental assistant Laura was great too. Thanks guys! Pain free visits.

The dentist is usually an EXTREMELY nerve wracking and scary ordeal for me, but everyone there is so incredibly kind and really cared about me and my teeth that they made the dentist a pleasant experience... even with root canals!Cannot say enough good things.

I had the Hybridge dental implants procedure done with Dr. Sheils. I was recommend by a friend after visiting so many other dentist for this kind of procedure. I am very happy with my results. I had the work done last month and it has been life changing. Dr.Sheils and his staff has been amazing, considerate and caring. I had experience no pain and I can eat again! I highly recommend Dr.Sheils if you are looking to get Hybridge dental procedure.

I have not been to the dentist for a few years, went in for a checkup and had a couple cavities! Dr. Elton helped me through the entire process! He is a great guy, very personable, and knows what he is doing, I will definitely be going back to him in the future and I have already passed along the great work he has done to some friends and family! As usual I felt safe, comfortable and well taken care of at Otsego Dental. During the pandemic it has been very challenging to know what will be different and what will be the same. In an abundance of caution for patients and staff they have some new procedures in place but the same quality care and consideration.

All staff are very knowledgeable and confident in the care they provide. A complete dental plan with estimates is presented to you with a detailed breakdown of what dental insurance pays, and what your out of pocket expense will be. There is no high pressure sales done here as I have seen other dental offices do in the past. My family is treated by this clinic and I know that we are in more than qualified hands.

After not having a dental office for years and finally having insurance and finding a place that accepts my insurance. I highly recommend this dental office. They are all super nice and friendly and got me in quickly. I seen Dr. Shields and Dr Giddings who had to do my tooth extractions. She was super nice and made the experience much more relaxing by letting me know everything that was going on and made the procedure easier to handle. They were way better then the last placed I had to go to for a tooth extraction. I will keep coming back and hoping to get my son in as well very soon! The Otsego Dental team was great!! I had a great experience with them and they saw me the same day I had a dental emergency as a new customer. It didnt turn out to be much, however being new to the area I have most definitely found my new dental office. I manage a local business myself with the same customer service attributes and it just goes to show how great this community is. Finding myself in another local business with the same attributes as the one I manage is great to see and be a customer of.

They were AWESOME! First time I brought my 6 year old there, and right away they treat you almost like family, very friendly! My daughter was nervous going into it and they were great with her she actually said she had fun and cant wait to go back! They were amazing with her explaining everything to her and teaching her about her teeth. She still talks about her experience there! ***Update*** Great Experience again for my now 7 year old. They did different activities where they painted her teeth to show if she is missing anywhere when brushing so she can see it for herself and it encourages her to have good brushing habits.

Make sure you check your insurance coverage because they dont! They told me they got a pre-authorization and I got stuck with a $500 bill because my procedure was not covered! Nice only goes so far. The dentist said she would not fix my teeth until I got a deep cleaning. What a scam!!!!!!! I will be finding a new dentist!

Soon after our family moved to the Elk River/Otsego area, I had a dental emergency and my work colleague referred me to Otsego Dental. Dr. Sheils came into his office during non-office hours (back in Nov 2011) and was able to immediately make me feel relaxed and took care of my issue. Now our entire family of seven has been going to Otsego Dental for the past six+ years. The dentist and Dental Hygienists are GREAT. Jenny in particular is my absolute favorite. I love the front office staff who always makes me feel so welcome.

As many I was afraid to go to the dentist. When I found Otsego Dental I could not quit talking about it. I enjoy seeing the staff at the front desk, they make you feel like family. From teeth cleanings to the much needed work that I have had done over the years, I no longer fear the dentist.

My wife and I have been going here for years and have always been very happy with everything. Everyone is friendly and helpful. We both see Ellen for cleaning and she is great. As for Dr. Shiels he is the only dentist I will ever see if at all possible. I had a temporary crown come off the night before a flight out west and he left home and came back to the office well after hours to take care of me.

I recently moved to Zimmerman and needed to find a new dentist that I can get into without waiting months like I was for Park Dental by my work and was affordable after insurance payments too. I have been to Park Dental for YEARS and have never got a comprehensive game plan for the care of my teeth and smile that Otsego Dental provided for me today. They asked the usual in-depth questions regarding medications, health problems, teeth concerns, and even daily habits to evaluate your care routine and a action plan to help get the best smile and gum/tooth health. The staff is amazing. They are all so kind and genuine! Yeah I know small talk sucks when you have a dentist/hygienist hands in your mouth but they are good at it some how. I feel very confident with the care I will be receiving for my cleaning and the scheduled crown I will have done. I highly recommend this place if you live in the area.

I have had good experiences with Otsego Dental in the past. They do very good dental work. They also have a very nice staff and office. My only complaint is about punctuality. If you are looking to see the dentist at your scheduled time you may be disappointed.

If someone’s asked for a great dentist, this would be the first and only place I’d recommend!

The Dentist, Front Desk Staff, and Dental Hygienists are GREAT!!! The problem lies in their back office/billing procedures. I have received bills that they forgot to file with my insurance and billed me. When questioned the response was vague at best, they did resubmit. The issue lies in that the service provider is now billing me for items that are over 2 years old and cannot confirm nor deny payment from me was received. When questioned I was answered by a short and rude response. I will now take my business elsewhere. This could have been resolved by a simple phone call or apology.

Dr. Shields and the wonderful friendly staff are like family. I wouldnt go anywhere else.

I am fully confident that from the Front Desk, to the Dental Hygienists (Jenny in particular; she is my absolute favorite!) to the billing that Otsego Dental can take care of all my needs and I enjoy going to the Dentist for this reason! Thank you Otsego Dental!

This is a great Dental Office. I have been coming to Dr Scheils since he took over Dr. McNairs office in Elk River and later moved to Otsego. He does great work along with my hygenist Jenny. They are always friendly and caring and Dr. Scheils always makes a point to stop in when I am getting my teeth cleaned. The staff including Linda, Mary, and all the new people are all so nice and professional but friendly. I would refer anyone to this dental office.

Problem#1: Being quoted $26,000 for all my dental work (knowing that I have dental insurance)Problem#2: Doing all sorts of (btw VERY GOOD) work on my teeth, that didnt cost any where THAT muchProblem#3: How in the hell could I end up with an $1,100 credit on my account for work that hasnt been done yet? Work YOU charged to my CareCredit account? That I MAY HAVE TO PAY INTEREST ONProblem#4: Why would you treat someone of my age (47), and who has paid as much as I have in less than a year, like a kindergartner when it comes to an appointment? My life happens, which means I may have to cancel an appointment with you, and the last time I checked, YOU are providing a service to ME, NOT the other way around. Figure this out, because I will sure as hell will tell EVERYONE else I know about my experience.

Terrible experience!! They did a temp root canal and I was in way more pain than I was before. They had no idea what they did wrong. Instead of dealing with it themselves, they passed the buck and sent me somewhere else. Katie in the office was super rude and unhelpful.

Had a terrible experience with them. Went there for a root canal and crown, the crown fell off after 6 months and he couldnt figure out why..he ground off more of my tooth and glued it back on and in the process cracked the root on my tooth..now I have an abcess and have to have it pulled...worst place ever!Cost me and boatload as I will need implant or bridge to fix his mistakes!Never going back to this place!
