Pam is the very best. She is so skilled and also very kind. She was very detailed in both the color and the cut and made sure she thought it was perfect in her eyes. She sets the bar high! I will definitely be coming back to see her. I also want to mention that Pam at the front desk is also very nice and welcoming.

I’m sorry, but this place was really unprofessional. I asked for them to wash my hair and flat iron it. They said they could do it. When I got there she “washed” my hair and then took me back to her station to proceed straightening my hair. She didn’t detangle my hair. She went through my hair with an Afro pick, (yes, a pick) after that it was time for her to straighten my hair. She didn’t use heat protection spray act all. She straightened a little bit of the back and left. When she came back she said she only had 20 minutes to get through my hair! I couldn’t believe it. She told me to go this place downtown called the Hair Police. I got up and left. Yes, I am a black woman and I thought there would be someone specializing in black hair, Since it is a hair salon and they told me they could straighten my hair. I didn’t judge her ability because she was white. I trusted her and she wasted no time kicking me out of the salon. If you know you couldn’t do my hair why waste my time by washing and blow drying my hair? Funny how you call yourself a hairstylist, but only know how to style certain types of hair.

I have the best hair compliments when I go this salon in particular. Samantha is professional, quick, fun to be around and knows what she is doing. Love this place!!

Excellent receptionist who knew what she was doing and was able to get me in right away although I’d thought I’d need to set up a future appointment. Stylist was kind, fun and efficient. Very careful to ask questions to determine exactly what I wanted and to give advice when I asked for it. I am thoroughly happy with my cut, color, highlights. Highly recommend!

I have been in John Joseph Salon in Elk River a few times and every time I had a great experience, and my hair cuts have been perfect. Brittany is an awesome professional, and she always does a great job. I highly recommend her! While she’s washing my hair, she gives me a great head massage. It’s relaxing and amazing. I have long curly hair and she straightened it in a way that I enjoyed, which lasted for a couple days. I am always satisfied with my haircut! Highly recommend this salon!

I’ve gone to John Joseph Salon for quite some time. My stylist Kristine is amazing. She’s very pleasant and does such a great job of cutting and styling my hair. I would highly recommend this place and have done so many times.

Ive tried two stylist at this salon. The first one left bleeders in my hair continuously so I went to someone else. The first time she did a fantastic job but last time the low light was way to dark and bled on the blonde hairs so I went back in for her to fix it and I still have spots of brown on my blonde highlights. Not exactly what I would expect for $200 color job. Im looking for a new place...

There was no pressure to buy their products or shaming about my hair routine (which I have gotten at other places). Will definitely return!

Shes always encouraging for me to try something new and is helpful with her suggestions. They offer you a beverage upon arrival. Youre given a head massage. Ive only had my hair cut here and k find the price to be very reasonable.

I am finally back to living in a city with an Aveda Salon!! I couldnt be more excited. After doing absolutely nothing with my hair for two and a half years, I made it in to John Joseph Aveda. I felt right at home the minute I walked in the door. I of course was drawn to the product while I waited for my stylist. Samantha was very friendly & listened to my needs. I grew my gray out & my hair was down my back. It was so damaged. Samantha did a scalp treatment, which I would highly recommend. She cut off about 3 inches, framed my face & added layers. This was exactly what I had communicated to her. My hair is soft & healthy & my cut was perfect. My gray looks amazing, lol. I enrolled in the Perfered customer program (that is probably not what it is called!), bought product, was given a new customer gift bag & made my next appointment. I was thrilled with my experience & highly recommend Samantha. She is a sweetheart.

I just ran in to get some Aveda products, it was their 30% off sale. I got such good positive vibes from all the girls there! The cool lady that recommended I get Blue Malva shampoo for my greying hair was so great. No pressure to buy, just good information. Everyone is always so upbeat and customer friendly.

They were very nice here however... one side of my head is literally an inch shorter then the other. This is the most lopsided haircut I have ever gotten. For $50 I atleast expected my hair to be even.... Extremely disappointed and now I have to pay to have it fixed elsewhere...

Ive started seeing Jill for facials and Samantha for my hair. Both are absolutely fantastic! They both really listen to me and deliver great results. I am given recommendations without feeling pressured into buying products, which is a refreshing feeling at a salon/spa. I will be back soon!

John Joseph Aveda Salon is a great place to have your hair done. Theyre very knowledgeable not only about their products, but about what you need. Im glad that I landed here as a customer. Ive used several beauticians do my hair and I havent been disappointed. Theyre all talented.

I have been to Allison for more than a year now. I originally went so she could fix the back of my hair from which I had a bad haircut. The cut and color is amazing!!! I receive a lot of compliments on my hair.

The aesthetician was very pleasant and professional, but this was hands down the worst wax job I have ever received. I spent 30 minutes finishing the job when I got home. I have no idea how she did not notice the missed area. I also had so much residual wax left on me, I could not walk comfortably - thank goodness I had time to go home and shower again. Until you bring in an aesthetician with equal skill and attention to detail that Jill provided, I will be getting waxed elsewhere.

Everyone at the salon is extremely friendly and helpful. Alison is the BEST! I have very hard water at home and like to keep my hair blonde. For those who dont have hard water, this is not easy. She does a fantastic job with keeping my hair looking beautiful and healthy. Im also trying to grow my hair out and she really gets and respects what a trim actually is. You wont end up with 4 inches of your hair being cut off when you just want a little off the ends. Its always a wonderful experience and Im happy that Ive finally found a salon I can stick with and can count on. I recommend to all my friends and family.

I came in about 2 years ago for a balayage service. What I received was essentially a bleaching of the whole head. It was my first bayalage service. I thought that it would grow back, not a big deal (is what I originally thought), this is not the case. I left the salon with singed hair. My hair was bleached, then dyed to cover up the damage that had been done in the salon. People were staring. Here I thought I was getting a decent service in the beginning. What upset me most was that the gal left for some time and my scalp started to burn. She did not seem aware or like she cared at all that essentially an hour went by with the chemicals on my hair. While I understand the side effects of chemical treatments, it was not normal. She didnt even check in with me really during the process. I also at some point went in and it got a basic trim and style. When I got home and started playing with it, it was extremely uneven. I had to take time off work to rush in and get it fixed by Allison who was very nice, skilled, and kind. Needless to say I did not go back there. It was just to this day a devastating experience. My hair is thinning!

This was not my first visit to this salon. I visited a couple years ago for a haircut but I was not impressed with the cut for the price. I recieved a gift card so I thought Id check out other services. I got a 90 minute facial. It was so good! Let me say that again: so. Good. Like Ive been tranquilized! Just when I thought it couldnt possibly get better - it did! Like many moms i neglect myself so the family gets what they need. Despite having neglected skin, they fixed me right up. My skin feels beautiful now. Highly recommend for their estheticians services.By the way, gift cards are not transferable between elk river and albertville. They were amazingly accommodating with the miscommunication and customer service was their focus the whole time. Again, I would highly recommend the salon.

When you walk in youre greeted straight away and offered a beverage. Very clean and quiet atmosphere. I always leave happy with my stylist. She is expensive but worth it.

I drove around for 2 hours trying to find someone to cut my hair and no luck, on my way home I Googled haircuts in the our corner of the world and Aveda displayed Open, I called and begged and plead with Taylor, she must have heard the crying and talked me off the edge and arraigned for me to stop in and make the month of June a unforgettable, I am now a customer of Aveda.

From the moment I walked in the salon, I felt welcome. The receptionist was sure to greet me and ask me if I needed anything and took my coat as well. She was quick to grab Jordan for my balayage/cut! Jordan is beyond knowledgeable in Blonde hair/coloring. I was so lucky to have booked with her. My balayage has already gotten multiple compliments and it hasnt even been 24 hours. Cant wait to book with her again!

I love it hear. I went from black hair underneath to a beautiful blonde ombre. My hair felt like straw for a couple weeks after so i went in and got my hair conditioned and now it feels better then it did when i started. My hair dresser Megan is super nice and she is very easy to talk to. High recommendations for this salon.
