I understand that the Covid is of great concern still. However, even though everyone in my family has been vaccinated, nobody is showing signs of Covid, we all passed screening at the door, and we were causing no seat shortage, all while wearing the masks, I was told I had to leave because they can’t allow more than one visitor. I hope they have fun rounding up my Alzheimer’s parents, since I was not asked why I would try and violate their well publicized Covid restrictions, nor was I treated kindly in any respect. Not by a nurse or doctor, mind you, but by the front staff. Great first impressions. Call me when you find them. Of course, you have no clue how to contact me unless my parents can remember how.

NO INTEGRITY AND NO DECENCY...so i taught my 15hr emergency room wait was bad....i was completely disrespected after i complained about the cleanliness of my room and the excessive medications. I was escorted out the hospital by 2 security guards then was told its because i asked for too much...clean robes and clean sheets after 5 days is considered too much...if that wasnt enough, they made a claim that i was throw things and cussing but you know they were nice enough too deal with that for 5 days supposedly...never again at this hospital

I’m posting this only so Victoria from Maternity Eval/family birthing center can be recognized. She went above and beyond to make sure my stay was personal and professional and I truly felt she cared about the safety of my baby and I. She gave me reassurance before I left and made sure I felt okay about things . You don’t find that a lot with nurses anymore as many of them just feel they have a job to do and want to get paid . Victoria wasn’t like that at all and I hope she gets recognized for this . I went in yesterday October 15th around about 2:00 maybe so please make sure she gets recognition for the great job she does ! Thank you Victoria!

The staff is great but I must say that this hospital would be a whole lot better if they had more great doctors on call in the ER. I think more doctors it would be less patients that is waiting to be seen take a lesser time to wait. I have seen improvements of this hospital over the years. The ER is the problem overwhelmed. We need more doctors in the ER to help get the patients seen quicker. It shouldnt take long wait.

The need for more friendly staff at the check in desk in the emergency room needs to be a priority. Our family had an emergency lastnight and we went over there to see what was going on. The lady at the check in desk was rude and nasty. She kept saying our family member was not there and didn’t even check the computer to see. We knew our family member was there as they had been for days. It was an emergency so you would think she would be understanding and atleast check the system to see but she didn’t. Nothing bad to say about the nurses taking care of my aunt other than they do not communicate well. We were not told she was moved to a non covid room, we were not told until we called to get an update she was allowed visitors. When I went to visit I was told it was 1 person per 24 hours. HOW RIDICULOUS IS THAT??!! She’s basically on her death bed now and not sure how much longer she could last, but they will only allow ONE person a day?! So if one of us doesn’t get to speak to her or see her that’s okay if she does? Something needs to be change about this policy for critical patients that are not covid positive!

Was transported here from a rural hospital and placed in a Covid room until I tested negative. The machine used to clean the air was filthy and no one seemed the slightest bit concerned but when I was relocated to a regular room all was fine. The nursing staff are mostly travelers so they have no real commitment to the facility but they were very professional for the most part. My level of care received was good and this would definitely be my hospital of choice if ever needed again.

I had to call the charge nurse 3 times a day for each meal because they would set her tray aside and never give it to her. I would not recommend a corpse even go to this hospital. My daughter is back here again for surgery they told her to be here at 630am and it is now 1134 am and they still have not taken her back for surgery. This is the worst hospital in the world, they do not help anyone just waste their time.

I am currently sitting in the parking lot for going on 6 hours. I dropped my daughter off at the ER around 10:30 last night for complications with an infection. She is a single mother with several medical issues. I parked and proceeded to go in with her toddler. I am fully aware of covid and precautions to take as we see a lot of hospitals and doctors. But I was treated so rudely by the woman at the entrance, and basically shamed for having a toddler with me. I would be the last one to put any of my family in harm, we take all precautions because my daughter is on chemo. She basically let me know that I could not enter and had to leave. She didnt want security to come out and question what was going on. I asked if she expected me to wait outside, she said yes. Mind you it was10:30 at night, we are now 6 hours later and my daughter is still waiting in the waiting room. Patients that have come in after her have already been seen, treated, and released. This is the worst I have ever been through. We live 30 minutes away. But I did not know it was going to take this long to be seen. Still sitting with her toddler and its now 4:34 am...ridiculous

My dad went in last night with issues dealing with his heart we had called the ambulance out to him earlier yesterday and according to there EKG he was in VFIB and it cleared up after a bit and later that night it got worse so we called again and as a typical older man he wanted us to take him rather than the ambulance. Well that was around 8pm last night and he is still sitting in the ER at southeast health except he is finally in a room. At 1:00 am he was still in the lobby. I recommend if you want fast timely service for your many thousands that they charge you may as well pay the ambulance bill as well to get in and be seen even if its a hang nail. Because otherwise you will be in the waiting room forever. I personally wouldnt go to this hospital even if I was dieing. Just a piece of advice from someone who has witnessed the chaos and lack of care for those in need at this institution.

I changed my entire OB practice to Dothan ob just so I could deliver at the famous SE labor and delivery unit. The unit itself was good. However I had covid so I guess it was harder to respect us.1. My own doctor didn’t wear PPE in my room and not even one single measly mask. Then I assume entered others rooms as well. The nurses wore their ppe so I’m glad they had sense. At least the nurses are good and probably save this entire unit.2. If it were not for dominos, door dash and over worked nurses who so kindly took time out of their shift to meet our delivery ppl at the doors a whole floor down, we would have starved my whole 5 day stay. Because I was covid positive, me and my two support person were confined to my hospital room. Couldn’t leave at all. When we FINALLY got served our meals it was bad. Every meal was 2-3 hours late and ice cold. When you can pick up your grits with your fingers because they’re so hard and cold, that’s sad. Ticket said our breakfast was made and plated at 5:40 am and we received it to eat at 10:30. Nutrition would come and sit it outside of the room and we had to wait for a nurse to finally bring it in. One nurse said “oh I finally saw it sitting out there”. When they didn’t bring enough one time a nurse “found an extra tray sitting in the hallway”. Also as a laboring person who couldn’t eat and had to drink the broth, that was also sad. A TINY cup of cold chicken broth that was just powder and water. Do better southeast, do. Better. 👏🏼 my labor was already traumatizing with the verbal abuse of doctors so the least that could be done is nice hot meals served semi on time.

This is the last time I will bring my husband to this hospital. All they do is keep you in here just laying around, but dont treat you. They just keep telling you to stay another night just to lay around and milk insurance. My husband was admitted for high blood pressure and signs of a mini stroke. Well they ran all kinds of tests and couldnt find anything wrong and gave him meds for his blood pressure. The morning doctor told him he was getting released but as usual after waiting for hours and shift changes another doctor comes around urging him to stay another night because his blood pressure was still high. I told her that he was on their meds and diet so what they gave him wasnt working. If they wasnt going to treat him he wasnt going to just lay around another night and they needed to release him. The doctor asked us to wait one more hour and let him try one other pill to see if that would work. So after an hour of taking the pill it worked. Question is why didnt they already do this if they knew his blood pressure was still high after their so called treatment. Why did it take me saying something to them before they did this. Obviously they were purposely keeping it up so that they could keep him here and milk the insurance

There billing and financial department are sorely lacking. First off this started a couple of years ago, my wife worked there and either her or one of our kids ended up in the hospital, regardless we ended up having quite a bit of medical debt in which we paid all but some that somehow got put on payroll deduction, we was like thats fine we had paid thousands out already so the last little bit making payments helped us out some. Well in short my wife decided to retire and when she did apparently we still had about 500.00 or so left to pay off, we thought they would have just withheld in her check but after a few months we found out not only had they turned us into collections but was trying to garnish it. I want to know how it gets that far along and we dont get a single phone call or anything in the mail, we would have paid it off. Whats worse is a few months ago we ended up there for one of our kids, no biggie, we have two insurances and we had recently hit our deductible, wrong they still attempt to bill us so we called, left voicemail. Never called us back, we called and left a voicemail again and again no call back, so I have my attorney call, guess what, they wasnt calling back because our account had a notation on it from years ago and everything goes straight to collections and again court without our knowledge...so yet again I am having to pay more attorney fees to get this resolved because they cant take five minutes and make a phone call, or maybe just return the calls we left voicemails on. All over a bill BCBS says I shouldnt have to pay, its amazing how this place is even functioning, oh wait our tax dollars at work!!!

Both my wife and I have needed to have stents put in within the last year. Southeast Health has been phenomenal-the entire staff went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable, and addressed every need. The Heart and Vascular department is great!

They will not let Fathers into the nicu to see their child. Its been a week since I could hold my little girl. They blame it on the governor and the cdc but Ive contacted both and looked it up on line and all three say the same thing. Its up to the hospital. I can understand that the nicu is small and they want to keep the number of visitors down but they could at least let fathers in when the mothers cant make it.

I have to say I’m a very proud employee of Southeast Health. My son had a terrible accident and was taken to SEH emergency room. He received awesome care from all involved with his visit. His nurse Sarah couldn’t have been any sweeter! She’s amazing, along with CT and Ultrasound staff. He saw Dr. P. Jones and so glad he did as we were very pleased with the outcome and results. I know it’s hard for patients to understand the process and flow of an emergency department but SEH is one of the best. Your going to wait at any ER, everyone is sick and irritable and frustrated and chances are there is someone twice as sick as you are that goes back before you. Be glad people! Be thankful your not that sick! I can honestly say that you have no idea what is going on behind those double doors, you would be shocked and ashamed. Be glad your still waiting, that means the nurses and all other staff that your so angry with is actually doing their job. The nurses of this ER are some of the best. I can not say enough good things about them and for what it’s worth.....you can continue to get upset about the wait or if someone goes to the back before you, it’s not going to change the process. The Emergency Room is just that, an Emergency Room, it’s not a doctors office.

Worse hospital Ive ever been to.arrived at 630pm having chest pain and numbness. Calle up at 650pm. Sat in waiting room until 11pm. Finally put in Er room, hooked me up to heart monitor and left. About 1:15am after asking where the DR was, she (DR JONES) CAME in asked some questions and said she would be right back. Nurse came and gave me a pain shot. They had no beds in what they called the observation rooms. Finally around 330am I left. I was very upset and crying due to I havent seen anybody in about 2 hrs. They do not care! I still did not get an answer of my diagnosis of what my problem is.

My Grandmother just got out of surgery, and they said “we’ll call you to update you on how she’s doing in surgery”, and they didn’t. Worst experience ever, because it’s hard to not be updated having someone apart of you in surgery and not being updated.

This is the most professional and caring hospital staff. I recently had surgery at SEAMC and they took care of me, very compassionate and respectful. The hospital was very clean and the food was really good. Dr Randal Nichols did a phenomenal job on my surgery. Overall I was very pleased. I definitely recommend this hospital to anyone who needs care. Thank you so much to all for taking care of me in my time of need.

The patient care at this facility is beyond exemplary. The ER wait times are short, the staff is exceptional, and the level of care is wonderful. The nursing staff is polite and sympathetic to the patients and their needs and the doctors are very knowledgeable. If in the even they cannot remedy the issue, they will find someone who can.

I had a surgical procedure at SAMC last November. My experience was excellent from beginning to end. Prior to being taken to surgery holding, the staff made sure to keep me updated. The staff in surgery holding took excellent care of me and continued to keep me updated. The OR staff was so gracious, kind and understanding. I had to stay overnight and my experience on the floor was amazing. The nurses and aides were very thorough and attentive.

Brought spouse to ER at 8: pm. Took only about 30 min to be in a room. Took 2 1/2 hours for Dr. Then another hour for X-ray. Now at 2:30 am no results. Asked nurse why it was taking so long. She said she didnt know, it has been that way with long waiting times. I asked if it was busy she said no, but something is causing the long waiting times. Spouse went to X-ray and they forgot to hook her oxygen back up. Her alarm kept going off but no one came. The nurses or whoever were at the nurses station joking and laughing. I went to them and asked if they could hear the alarm going off. They acted surprised. I told them that the oxygen had not been hooked up. So one of them came and hooked it up. All the times we have been here in the past years it has never been like this. In the past we felt like the staff was concerned and did all they could to help us. We drive from Troy for what use to be excellent care. It is farther than Montgomery. But we will most likely head to Montgomery Baptist or Jackson hospital. Sure are a lot of people unhappy in here.

I was a patient for a Pacemaker battery replacement. I was admitted to the ER and then placed in ER observation for a night. The next day they did a Nuclear Stress test and determined I was ok except for the Pacemaker battery. We waited until almost 5 that night to get into a room and Surgery took place early the next morning. The Operating Staff who prepped me all the way to the doctor who performed the operation were top notch. The nursing staff during my one day of recovery before being sent home were also exceptional. Obviously the food for a heart patient is tasteless and pretty bad, but I expected that.I did not have insurance and they provided me with the paperwork necessary to apply for a lowered bill. All in all not a bad experience. What people need to realize when they are commenting on these reviews is that most hospitals run understaffed. Nurses have several patients through no fault of their own so you cannot expect them to see you in 5 minutes because your pillow needs fluffed. I for one was very satisfied with my stay. ThanksLarry

Had an umbilical hernia repair 5 days ago, and everyone was great; didnt have a single issue to complain about. The standouts in the service department were two guys, Bart and Justin, who were working together in pre-op to get me ready for surgery: asking questions, starting IVs, putting me at ease while I waited for surgery.Even the pharmacy exceeded my expectations, when the technician, Dawn, brought my med up to the recovery room before I could even get ready to go!Outstanding service and experience. Everyone worked together to make a stressful situation a lot easier to go through.

If you have to go to the emergency room, and receive a bill afterwards, dont expect anyone in the billing department to be able to explain to you what the amount is for. All you get is a bill in the mail with no information and you are expected to pay it immediately. They will call, email and text you to the point of harassment. Its only been this way since theyve become southeast Health. Next time well go to Flowers ER. Used to be a great hospital/ER.

ER waiting room was not very clean - wrappers, food debris, and bugs on the floor. I’m assuming the nurse that checked us out to go home was possibly the head nurse. She was extremely rude and unpleasant. When she removed the IV from my husband’s arm, she flung it in my direction into the trash with the sharp still on the end of it rather than disposing it in the sharps container. I’m certain that’s a violation of sorts. The doctor and the 1st nurse we had were nice, but the overall experience was enough that I wouldn’t seek this hospital out again for any urgent matter. It’s a shame. I’m sure the head nurse lives in this community. She could have been a little nicer. I’ll now be looking for care elsewhere when I need it.

I want to give a BIG shoutout to ALL of the doctors and staff. My husband was admitted last Tuesday and we could not have asked for better care and genuine concern for his well being!! Everyone was so nice & helpful. Just walking down the halls and different ones would speak or ask if I needed anything!! The cafeteria is so nice and the workers are so pleasant!! We had everything we needed and more!! Discharge was great; start to finish was like 2 hours, if that!! Once again, thank you to everyone!! East 6 Rocks!!
