When depositing an “Official Bank Check” today, I noticed some hesitancy. One of the teller asked, where did I get the check from? Then, the check was deposited and place on hold for 7 days, however the investigation continued. Soon afterwards, a message was left on my phone stating the back office determined that the check was bad, therefore it was deleted from my account and destroyed. I called customer service and was informed it was fraudulence because there is no Peoples Bank in Indiana. On the contrary, there are many Peoples Banks in Crown Point, IN, East Chicago, IN, Hammond, IN, etc. I went back to the bank to get the check thinking this has to be a scheme; because I knew the check was legit. There were holes punched and VOID stamped on my legit check. Why wasn’t I notified prior to destroying my legit check and why wasn’t it returned to me, instead of your trash bin. Inequalities. It is disappointing and so sad to know that Pelican State Credit Union, which I have been with for years, can not distinguish a fraudulent check from a legit check or did my appearance play a role in the decision. I deposited another check at a different credit union without any issues.

Always greeted as soon as you walk through the door. Everyone from the teller, to the manager, to the security guard are friendly and helpful. I love this branch. The account reps helped me find accounts perfect for me. They gave me a chance while I cleaned up my credit when no one else would. And when it was cleaned up they helped me find better account options for my needs. This is my home bank! Love them!

😮 They didn’t understand how to help us. They Really need some one at the desk that’s better knowledgeable of there Job. Pelican needs to better train there staff. They also didn’t have a welcoming Presence. I definitely wouldn’t recommend this bank to outsiders. That’s how we felt. The wait time for what we needed was about 30 minutes for something simple if they new there Job. They seem to be more chatty with each other then concerned with us as a customer. This place doesn’t feel like a business at all. I definitely want be returning to this location

How long does it take to open an account. I put an application in almost a week and still nothing, I called today to check on it, and I get you can come to our drive thru and open an account it might be quicker. Then what is the use to having online. Also, I know one of our friends has been waiting for 4 weeks to finish up a loan and they still waiting. I dont think this is the kind of people I want to do business with that are not there for the new business are there existing customers.

I LOVE PELICAN!!! The staff are SO helpful and go above and beyond to make sure all your banking needs are taken care of. Multiple times I have gone in with questions or concerns and they have been so helpful! I love that they get involved with the community as well. They are at many events in Denham Springs, and they even sponsor and host a bike race for kids. All free of charge, just want to be engaged with the community. Its a great place to bank, and I wouldnt go anywhere else. Their rates are unbeatable and they have anything and everything you could think of to help you with your banking needs or credit or loans. I have referred MANY friends and family members to them, and they are never disappointed.

Theres a couple people I dont care for but there are a lot that I do like and they are awesome. Only problem I have is that the ones that dont see me often make me fill out a stupid deposit slip where as the ones that know me well dont make me do that I can just give them my account info and money and they take care of it for me. I love pelican state credit Union!!!! Not to mention I dont have to pay to have a account with them or have to keep so much in the account in order to keep it. Also can replace my debit card if need be the same day instead of having to wait on the mail. Love the bank and most of the people they have there.

Just went to the inside of the bank to deposit my money, all cash and coins. Ive gone previously with no problems at all, but this last time made me want to switch banks, and honestly, I believe I will. Firstly, I try to flatten my bills out to make them look neat, yes they may not be perfect, but is it my fault or my responsibility to flatten them out to perfection while Im depositing it? The teller made me help flatten out the bills because the counting machine wasnt taking them properly. Never had this happenend before, and if it did the teller counted the bills by hand. The teller was getting aggravated and I did not appreciate that. Also, make SURE you count your money before you deposit it and not just blindly trust them, because their machine counted my money wrong. Thankfully they gave me the right amount in the end. Why not just count things by hand if theyre going to just get aggravated? Been a member for years, but Im done.

I went to this branch to close out an account I had with Pelican and to begin with was told closing the account would negatively affect my credit which was not true (I have a family member who used to work for Pelican and said this is not true at all) and was told my money from that account would be in my savings by Monday, I closed the account Saturday. When I checked my account it did not show my account had been closed so I had to contact another branch and it turned out the account hadn’t even been closed..had I not contacted them I would’ve had an open account I wanted closed. Absolutely no excuse for this type of situation to happen. I have had nothing but good experiences until this.

I love the tellers at the Denham location! I love my CU! Megan, the guys, and the girl with the glasses are always so friendly even after I get a little snappy. Just wanted to give them credit for their constant wonderful patience, and attitudes😊

I have been jerked around by yall, long enough. You didnt pay rent for May ( for a mobile home on my property). Instead you got your movers to secretly trespass on my property and remove it without my knowledge, knowing that you had to notify me of anyone coming on my property.Were in the process of suing Pelican State credit union. They have the worst customer service Ive ever seen.They would have gotten no stars if that were an option.Timothy Germany

The Denham branch is the worst In regardsO to shared branching - one time they will take a payment but then the next theyve got some new rule youve got to do or something to do. I wouldnt recommend this place of business to anyone!!!

While they are not the fastest in customer services, they have always been the most reliable & personable. They also have one on the best rates for loans, not to mention accounts (with school benefits) for my little ones.

No sense of urgency. Ive been in the drive thru line for 15 minutes and no car has advanced. There are 8 here currently and 2 have turned around and left. Tellers have a thats just the way it is attitude. 1 teller for all of inside and 4 drive thru lanes. :-(
