I was at the Kahl Home for a long stay after surgery from breaking my hip and again recovering after knee and leg surgery. I am very grateful for the care I received. The Nursing staff, Physical Therapist, and care givers were very supportive and helped get through a very difficult time in my life. I had a beautiful room and it was always kept clean and the food was good. I would highly recommend staying here.

I am truly disappointed on the intake process of this facility. My father unfortunately was found unresponsive a couple months ago due to a massive GI bleed. Due to the trauma on his body and brain being deprived of oxygen he experienced a common disorder called icu delirium and goes away with time. When discharged my father was sent to a rehab facility and due to immobility concerns needed a long term care. We called this facility and was denied due to a medication he was taking for the delirium. Mind you my fathers mind is clear he is able to make financial decisions, and using his laptop computer and cellphone. This facility only cares about money and nothing about patient care. We chose this facility because it has a lot to offer but to be denied over one medication is insanity. They also claim they offer memory care services for patients with Alzheimers and dementia. If you were to ever look into there medication history you will find the pages of medications for mental health and mood stabilizers.

My Mom moved into The Kahl August of 2018 at 93. It was hard for her at first but the Staff made the adjustment to living alone to a group atmosphere more bearable for her. The feeling of a luxury hotel, great activities, food and the caring staff have been the key to the transition for her and I. Its a Health Care Center, no doubt but it feels different there. Thru my life I have been a volunteer thru my Church to visit members at Nursing Homes and I have been to several in the QC and glad we made the choice to the Kahl. We are Lutheran but despite that, the Church was a big draw for us. So convenient and we are welcomed as Christians. There handling of COVID has been spot on and still continues with are garden visits. My family is grateful for our decision to choose The Kahl.

If I could give zero stars - I would. When my grandma was there - she was always asleep. I then find out that her call button didn’t work. No one checked on her. She was not given food and because she was so weak, ended up wetting herself. She tried to call them - and no one would come. It was not until family came to see her that they realized she was not being fed, and sitting in her own urine. She developed horrible bed sores. She ended up going to the hospital and passed away after being there. I do believe if she has been given the proper treatment and care she would not have passed away. I also hate knowing she could have passed away in pain. Whenever people tell me they have family at the Kahl home, I tell them to keep a close eye on them. Once they do, they have all come back and said they have moved their family to another nursing home. Once they are at a new nursing home - they improve. They are up, talking, laughing and the family sees huge improvement. I don’t know what they are doing there - but it is wrong. Disgusted. Horrified. Disappointed. I have no other words. My heart breaks for all of the patients there.

If I could do zero stars I would. My sister was recently a patient at this facility. We had hoped she would get excellent care but we witnessed three occasions where she was left in her wheel chair all day, she was never changed, and most recently they suspected a UTI and was suppose to get a urine sample but that was never completed. She then had to go to the emergency room. I would never recommend this facility to anyone.

I have done many clinical rotations and this facility is by far the best in the quad city area. Working for the Kahl has been one of the best decisions I have made. Staff is willing to do whatever possible to ensure a resident enjoys their stay here whether this is their new permanent residence or if they are staying here short term for rehab. I would 100% recommend this facility to anyone who needs rehab or to a family looking to place their loved one into 24 hour care.

Welp, this place is ok for Mom who was here for skilled care. The staffers are hit or miss...some are great, others are lousy. Very clean. Appealing aesthetics. Much better than at least one other skilled care facility where Mom was. Very large private rooms. I would recommend.

I believe that Kahl Home is the best nursing community in the quad cities! The staff are amazing and so helpful. The therapy department is great! The Kahl home also provides daily mass for their residents. I would be satisfied with any of my family members to receive care from the Kahl home.

My Grandmother is extremely happy in the new Kahl Home (nursing home), it was such a relief to hear her say that! I recently visited the newly built location and I was so stunned by the outward appearance of it that I stopped outside and took pictures. The inside was equally appointed. My Gma is 97 now, so we like to know that she is living well. If you are reading this review before placing a family member in a home, you really should check this place out also, really comfortable and the staff is great, and those are Grandmas words.

The staff really care about the residents. There is a whole new administration and it is for the better. One of the better facilities to work at because of the administration and how clean the staff keep it.

This place looks great, smells great, and (for some unknown reason) has great reviews. I promise you, however, that the reality of the place is not great. I have seen little to no competence in the nursing staff (yes, I have a medical background), the office staff or therapy staff. They parked my father in a wheelchair, which he has never used, and refused him therapy because the therapy staff couldnt figure out how to take his pulse due to his arrhythmia. They actually sent him to the ER when there was absolutely nothing wrong with him. The ED doctor literally said I have no idea why he is here. On top of that, by discharging him from therapy due to their own incompetence, they are guaranteeing that Medicare wont pay for the therapy he needs for 60 more days. I wouldnt board my dog here.

No one wants to live in a Nursing Home and my Mom wants to go home, but the Kahl provides good care, a clean environment, help applying for Medicaid (when the time comes), activities, etc.

I worked there for 13 months at first I loved it I loved working with fellow employees I cared deeply for the residents I was assigned to. Most of the time when permitted I would go above my job and do things for the facility that I was not assigned to do. But like always all good things must come to a end in which they did. Residents cares were not important to most of the employees, the death of residents was not being investigated like they should of been. If you complained about employees cares then you was looked down upon and wrote up for gossiping. Nurses were allowed to treat CNAs like they were nobody however a CNA is the back bone of a lazy nurse in which most nurses there were uncaring lazy and trouble makers. I watched for months the best employees and a few nurses get fired over stupid things to make the upper management feel they had power, I watched as the security guard was allowed to make inappropriate behaviors to the Cnas/ Nurses and it was completely ok. I watched alot of ignorant stuffed go on that should never ever happen in which the Kahl home allowed it to. I watched and was one of the ones that worked so short staffed that residents would complain their cares were not being met I for a fact know that is the truth because I was there I seen and I was involved. There is nothing a CNA can do when they are short staffed but do the best they can do. Those residents pay a lot of money to live there to be treated the way they do. The building is a very beautiful place However the management is horrible to the employees. I feel if they are cleaning house with the best employees they need to clean house with the management that is where their troubles are. If different management was assigned Im sure the Kahl Home would get their stars back.
