I hate going to the dentist, but my dental tech (Hannah) makes it bearable. She is the absolute sweetest most encouraging person Ive ever found in a dental office. Dr Pathel is hands down the fastest dentist Ive ever had. they make a great team

Can’t recommend this office enough! Both of the doctors I’ve seen here were wonderful and kind. I’ve spent years working in the dental industry and have not found a hygienist better than Hannah at Turtle Creek. I’m relocating to Colorado soon but will likely schedule my dental appointments here when I return to Dallas for work trips (that says a lot!).

New to the area, had concerns about finding a new clinic due to anxiety from my dental history. All staff was incredibly kind and understanding of my background. Dr. Patel walked me through what he was seeing for my dental exam and the reasons for treatment. I can’t remember her name, but the hygienist showed exceptional care and was open to my questions about how to better my oral health. They handled a more unique case really well and at no point did I feel pressured. Highly recommend!

My husband and I went to see Dr A at Turtle Creek Dental. We are new patients. We decided to go to Turtle Creek because we were questioning the dentist we were seeing. I am so glad I trusted my gut. The office and staff were very friendly and professional. There was a calmness in the office that I appreciated. My cleaning was excellent! Dr A projected my X-rays on to a large screen and explained all the dental work, I have had in the past. He also explained about the health of the bone that secures your teeth. It was super informative and interesting. I am feeling really good about the future care of my teeth.

Dr Avendanio (“Dr.A”) is awesome! In my opinion he and his staff are the best in Dallas! His staff is professional, knowledgeable and always makes you feel relaxed and at home upon arrival. Like most of us the dentist is not my favorite doctor but when it comes to Dr. A, this statement does not apply. He is always happy and smiling and most of all reassuring when you see him, especially if you have a fear of dentist. He has a wonderful smile and face that brightens up every one around him when you meet him. I have referred friends and family to Dr. A and will continue to do so. It had been a few years since my last cleaning so I was a little bit anxious going in, but Dr. Bernard Avendanio assured me we could get my teeth back in shape. His staff was very professional and everyone was so nice. Anne was my hygienist and she was absolutely amazing! She made me feel very comfortable, was very thorough and she made the whole process a breeze.

I was a patient at TCDA for about 3 years, and unfortunately Im unable to recommend them based on the billing experience.In 2021, they went out of network with my dental insurance. I had no idea until I showed up for my routine cleaning in February, and was told not to worry, they would cover the balance as a courtesy this time. Fast forward nearly 6 months, and I just received a 90+ day past due balance of over $120 out of nowhere.The dentist I initially saw at TCDA is fantastic, and I decided to follow her to her new (and in-network) practice.Long story short - Be careful going here, and get the Dont worry statements from the front desk in writing! Also be prepared to see a new dentist every year, as two left the practice just in my time as a patient.

I was recommended this dentist by my friend due to their priority of care to patients. For the past 4 years, I have had difficulty finding a dentist that actually cares about a patients sensitivity to cleanings and fillings. My first appointment went fantastic and I cant wait to come back! This dentist is all about getting you in and out as fast as (reasonably) possible with as little pain as possible. Would recommend everyone to at least give this dentist a try once to compare to their other dentists.

Going Dr Bernard Avendanios dental office was a entirely delightful experience from the easy parking, to the friendly and professional interactions with his staff at the front desk, his cheerful dental assistant Blanca, and his efficient and neat hygienist Amy. I was extremely disappointed with my experience at Turtle Creek Dental after reading so many great reviews. Both the x rays taken and the cleaning process were extremely painful. Even though they accept my insurance, they claimed I needed over $1000 (out of pocket) of work done. I went to a different dentist in Plano who did the work for about $300, and was much gentler and kinder. I would not recommend this place to anyone, unless they want to spend three times as much money as necessary to have their mouth aggressively worked on.

Very thorough, explains everything in a way thats easy to understand, and always, always works his hardest to do the least invasive work. Plenty of other dentists go for root canals every chance they get, but you can rest assured that hell not recommend this unless its absolutely necessary. Their offices are spotless and staff is very friendly and responsive. Easy 5 stars.

Dont waste your time. Very strange practice. I had a consultation today for a whitening and while at the appointment I was told it would cost $500-$600 and set an appointment for next week. This was great because it was cheaper than what I was going to pay at another nearby office, and that office doesnt have availability anytime soon...which is the only reason I ended up at this one. The first sign that I should go elsewhere was when the dentist told me I would have to pay out of pocket for the mandatory cleaning prior to the whitening because I had X-rays done at another office two months ago and insurance wouldnt cover another one so soon. Instead of advising me to have that office transfer over the X-rays for free, they just told me Id have to pay for the cleaning until I took the initiative to ask if the X-rays could be transferred. I didnt pay this much attention.An entire hour after leaving the office, the receptionist Samantha calls me to pressure me into paying half of the cost of the teeth whitening right then on the phone with her......mind you my appointment is 5 days away. When I asked if I could pay when in office next week - right before my appointment - she told me no the latest I could pay is the day before the appointment. This is the first dentist Ive been to in Dallas that is this unprofessional to not tell me this upfront and then call up my phone requiring me to pay in advance for a service. Im not sure if the receptionists are a bunch of idiots or they are advised on which specific clients to try this with after you come in...but rather than giving out that kind of information over the phone I took my business elsewhere.The receptionist was also extremely hostile when I entered and did not greet me at all when I entered and started approaching their desk, even though I was the only person in the lobby. There are way better practices in the area.

Dr. Shuman performed crown procedures poorly. Since then, I have been experiencing tooth pain and sensitivity where I had the new crown.

Dr. Shuman and the staff are top notch! I drive from 40 miles away because they provide, by far, the best service you could expect. Im lucky to be able to go to Turtle Creek Dental.

All of the staff are thoughtful, caring, and genuinely concerned about my dental health. But more than that, they care about me as a person. I typically go for cleaning twice a year but Dr.Avendanio has also done a cap, a crown, and a filling for me. I am confident that I am in very skilled hands while at Turtle Creek Dental Associates.

After having an awful experience with another local dentist, I scheduled an urgent appointment with Dr. Shuman for extreme tooth pain. He explained what was going on and even referred me out to make sure all of my options were exhausted before extracting my tooth. The procedure went very well and he told me I shouldn’t experience too much pain afterwards and he was right. I had the extraction at 2pm and by the next morning I was feeling pretty good. I had no pain at all. Dr. Shuman and the staff at Turtle Creek are so nice and welcoming. Thank you for the great work you do!

I just started seeing Dr. Avendanio, but my experience has been fantastic. He is very knowledgeable and I love that he shares his knowledge with you. He walks you through everything he does and explains every little detail. When they take xrays, if they notice a spot that looks funny they go in with a camera and take a picture so you can see what they are seeing. Today I had some cavities filled and it was a very quick and easy process. I would highly recommend this office.

Great team of super competent dental professionals! A special shout-out to Carolyn who went above and beyond by detecting a tooth infection that was hidden from typical routine methods. Dr. A is hands down the best dentist I’ve ever had. I have a lot of anxiety when it comes to dental work but he always takes the time to make me comfortable and explain anything he’s doing. I now live 2 hours away from his office but still make the trip to use him instead of going somewhere closer.

So kinda and friendly (not bc they have to be, just because that’s who these people are) they are extremely thorough and have never dropped the ball.
