My son had pain with one side of his mouth in June called to make appointment to get this fixed before his insurance ran out. So they got us in for a cleaning checked teeth had him come back in August. They worked on opposite side that didn’t hurt at all but they found 3 teeth with cavities instead of the side we came in to fix that had the pain but it only had 1 tooth to be fixed! Since they worked on them 3 teeth he has been in pain wasn’t pain there before to now having pain there! For me to tell him he could get them to look at it when he goes to get other side done to get a call and say your insurance is out you will have to pay out of pocket to get the original problem fixed! So to me they wanted to get the most money they could before my sons insurance ran out! He didn’t have any pain on that side to now he does who care if they seen 3 cavities they wasn’t hurting or bothering him! He has pain on both sides now! I have a younger child that was scheduled for another appointment I canceled and I wouldn’t recommend anyone going here apparently the money is more important than helping the patient with their true problems! I see someone else had same problem but they wanted to say he wasn’t a patient there well I have proof my kids was until yesterday! Now we have to go find another dentist get the side they worked on fixed because he’s hurting on it now and the original side we went in for and pay out of our pockets because they didn’t do the correct side and messed up other side they worked on! This is no different than going to have knee surgery R knee in pain but they do your L knee because they seen something they thought needed fixed! I wasn’t a happy momma yesterday when I got the call for them trying to say sorry beat around the bush why proper side wasn’t fixed! Excuses don’t work in my book!

What a great dentist office. Very friendly, helpful staff, and the dentist was kind and gentle. I thought dentist offices like this were a thing of the past. I would recommend this dentist to anyone that is looking for an alternative to those dentist that tell you that you need thousands of dollars in expensive care. My son is disabled and the staff was very careful to work with his needs and keep him comfortable.

Very professional and knowledgable Dental office. From the front of the office to Dr. Heard they are an excellent team that provide great care for our entire family ! Dr. Heard provides great options to help a person return to a better standard of living. If you are concerned with germs youll be glad to know during my visits Dr. Heard has always wore the proper PPE even before the Covid-19 start.

Dr. Heard always does a great job with my kids. He and his staff are always so nice to us. He also gave me and my children bibles. Great practice that I would recommend to anyone!

It had been several years since I went to the dentist so I was nervous I might have a cavity. The hygienist Dalton cleaned my teeth well and was very kind to me during the X-ray portion allowing me to take breaks between them. Both Dalton and Dr Heard looked at my teeth and gave me some pointers on keeping them clean and how important it is not to chew my cheeks and to use mouthwash daily. I also got a bible when I left which was very cool.

I have been going to Dr. Heard for 15 years and I have never been disappointed. They have always been able to get me in fast with any emergency I have had. Everyone in the office is always helpful with questions. Great service.

I thought when I took my kids that he was a pediatric dentist. He is awesome with children and I was surprised when they informed me he was not a actual pediatric dentist. I even went in myself and will be going back since my dentist moved (I am terrified of the dentist so me going is saying something). I highly recommend this office to anyone they are really professional and great. His wife and staff are also very sweet and on top of everything.

I had an appt on June 2nd to get a filling repair and then fix a small gap between my two front teeth. When I got there the staff was very friendly and they got me to the back quickly. When I went to the back the dental assistant asked me what I was there for and I told her that I thought it was for a couple fillings but wasn’t quite sure as my appointment had to be rescheduled several times due to Covid-19. Everything went great during the procedure. The only issue I had was when it came time to pay. I have Delta Dental insurance and am very familiar with my benefits and my copays. When I went to pay I expected to only pay $50 as my insurance covers 100% of restorative and preventative care with only a one time payment of 50$. When I went to pay one of the receptionist stated I owed $320. I was shocked to say the least as my insurance only has a 50$ copay. When I brought it up to the receptionist she stated my insurance doesn’t cover 100% of treatment for what I had done and that I probably hadn’t met my deductible for the year. I explained that I don’t have a deductible to meet and that my insurance does indeed cover 100% for the procedure I had done. We went back and forth for a little bit until I finally had to call my husband to bring me extra money to pay so I could go ahead and leave. While I was waiting for him to arrive one of the receptionist came up to me and stated she might’ve looked at it wrong and would let me pay the $50 and they would bill me for the rest that my insurance didn’t cover and let me be on my way. The following day I contacted my insurance to question them about that appt and to see how much I would owe. My insurance stated that the only thing I needed to pay was the 50$ copay I had already paid and nothing else, and that if they were to send a bill to forward it to them. I’m sure if I hadn’t raised my concerns about the payment they would’ve gladly taken my money without a second thought.

Dr. Heard is very caring and does excellent work! I would recommend him to everyone.

This dentist has the most favorable manners of a dentist I have ever experienced. His office staff if extremely professional, and he answered every question I had asked about my teeth. I highly recommend Dr. Heard to anyone. He was honest and saved my teeth and smile. I am so happy to have finally an honest, kind dentist!!

My wife and I both had bad experiences with this dentist. I went in with an old filling that had fallen out and on my initial visit he informed me that I had a couple of other small cavities as well. He scheduled me to come back I assumed to fix the major cavity, but ended up filling one of the minor cavities. Same again next visit. On this visit he noticed an even smaller cavity that he didn’t “see on the x-ray” and told the assistant that they would go ahead and fill it as well and said I quote “make that money.” At first I thought it was kind of funny, but then they told us that our insurance would only cover so much per quarter and to get the major cavity fixed I would have to pay out of pocket or wait a few months? My wife went in with pain in a tooth and ended up with a crown on the wrong tooth! We both had to go to LG Puckett’s(who is great)to get everything straightened out. This man is a crook.

I havent been to the dentist for about 7 years, this was my first time back and what a bad experience.The cleaning was about 3 minutes and the dentist came in didnt introduce himself shake hands or nothing at. Talked to me for about 20sec and was gone. Didnt even look in my mouth.Will not take my family there again..My daughter had an appointment after me shes 4 I had to ask him to do a cleaning on her he wasnt even going to do one, they said they send children to zoo crew, She was ready to get her cleaning and sat and had him clean them. Why have family dentistry in your name and not try to do the cleaning.Bad experience....

Don’t even bother coming here. Dr. Heard filled my cavity but did not get all of the cavity out... leaving me with an extremely infected tooth. The tooth should’ve never even been tried to be saved, because there was no saving this tooth. He just wanted to make some extra money by filling it (knowing it wouldn’t last) and then later doing a root canal. It was bad before I came in, so a root canal was needed to begin with. I went back in, and Dr. Heard admitted to his mistake. I don’t understand what kind of “experienced” dentist does this. His wife, Natalie, would not refund me my money knowing Dr. Heard had done me wrong. Natalie argued with me. I was not treated with respect, only by the dental assistants. I have a friend that saw Dr. Heard and he messed up my friend’s teeth extremely bad. The cheap prices are intriguing, but you’ll end up spending more because he will mess something up in your mouth and you’ll have to find a more competent dentist to fix Dr. Heard’s mistakes. I was blamed for the entire situation by Dr. Heard and his wife. If Natalie ever tried to charge you too much, it was probably on purpose. Good luck! Dr. Hintz is THE BEST! He fixed EVERYTHING Dr. Heard screwed up!

I will be switching dentists. I have had multiple issues with Algood Family Dentistry, my insurance Aetna Covers all dental and health. I get a letter in the mail with a bill from Algood Family Dentistry saying my insurance would not accept the bill And my account was terminated and reinstated. I called customer service for my insurance they said my policy was still intact it was never terminated, Brandy from Algood Family Dentistry had wrote a rude note saying that if I did not get my insurance fixed then I would have to pay the bill out of my own pocket. Thank you Algood Family Dentistry for all the problems you have given me I will be switching. And if there was an option to give less than a star I would. And coincidentally they’re out of the office until the 20th so I could not even call to tell them that the issue had been fixed. UPDATE: The receptionist called me to confirm my appointment after this review, and said Id have to delete this review to continue with my appointment, very unprofessional and sneaky.

I wouldnt recommend this place to anyone they lied to me for months about getting me in for another appointment, and to this day im still waiting on the phone call for the appointment! And they tend to act better then you the one time i did actually get in to see them. Just my 2 cents..

Disappointed at this dentist. The place works like a factory with the patients on the assembly line. Their goal is to service as many patients as possible in as little time as possible. The doctor is always in a hurry and not very willing to answer questions. The dental work could be improved as well; I had 5 fillings done and had to go back to re-do 3 of them.

Ive been here 3 times now, had to have a deep cleaning, hadnt been able to go to the dentist in about 7 years. The hygenist was AWESOME. I wasnt too impressed with the dentist, who I saw for a whole 20 seconds. Id never met him before Im a new patient, he came in didnt say hi, nice to meet you. He came in and rather rudely told me if I flossed regularly I wouldnt have this problem (excess tarter buildup under the gum line) and walked back out. I was supposed to have a surface cavity filled after my left side was done and I was informed it wasnt on the schedule, even though I was told by the hygenist after I specifically asked about when it would get filled during the cleaning of the right side, this visit or the next. I was informed for the left side cleaning. I now have to go back again for a tiny filling. I have to drive 45ish minutes to do this. Im not happy and will be looking to see what else is out there. I only came here because thats where my husband has gone for years.Update 3/8/18 was informed by the staff that I was no longer welcome there because they didnt like my review. Awww maybe the dentist should make new patients feel more welcomed and if a patient has specifically made sure their appointment was for a certain procedure they dont screw up the appointment. New dentist has been found and they even have Saturday appointments, the only day my husband is home from work.
