My father died after being “cared for” here. His nurse, Jeremiah, didn’t even notice that he was not drinking or urinating for the 2 weeks he was in there. My mom, sister, or I would have noticed if we were allowed to see him; however, with COVID regulations, we were not allowed to see him. We tried calling his cell phone SEVERAL times for a week and never got my dad to answer. We called Heritage repeatedly over those days saying we needed them to charge his phone and place it near him, so he could answer for us. My mom kept being told that his nurse would do that for us. They never did! My sister and I were furious because they were not letting us speak with him. We even went up there and gave them our number so he could call us and we got the number of his room phone, so we could call that phone as well. Once again, we were told they would charge his cell phone too. Once we got back in the car, I immediately called my dad on his cell and on his room number corded phone. No answer. I called the front desk and told them I want to speak to my dad now. They apologized and said sometimes the room phones “go missing” so my dad must not have one. I once again gave them my number and told them I would be waiting for my dad’s call. A few moments later, Jeremiah calls my phone from my dads corded room phone number and says, “let me see if your dad is feeling up to talking on the phone.” He finally puts my dad on the phone and I get to tell him I love him and ask him how he is doing. He tells me he loves me and says he is just “relaxing”. My dad never uses the word “relaxing”. Especially not when he is in the hospital or a rehab. I knew something was not right so I call my mom and tell her to get my dad OUT of that place. She calls and arranges to get my dad released but they say with COVID, they must first arrange a meeting virtually to speak with my mom about releasing him. Before my dad can get released, they call us back and tell us that he suddenly got worse and had to go to the hospital. He gets put in ICU on a ventilator and is in a coma. The hospital doctors tell us he is bleeding internally and he is extremely dehydrated. The hospital doctors keep him for several days and then tell us that it doesn’t look good and we need to say our goodbyes. He died in Feb of this year (2021). Heritage calls us later to pick up his belonging and guess what…. They’ve LOST his phone. The cell phone we had been begging them to charge and they kept saying they would! They never even checked. We also received shirts that were not my dads. Meaning, clearly he is not the only patient that has lost items in their “care”. I HIGLY RECOMMEND CHOOSING A DIFFERENT PLACE!! This place is AWFUL!

I witnessed 2 serious incidents at Heritage, where my mother resides. One of their employees opened the front door of the facility and motioned me and my wife to come inside to hug my mother (who was in the lobby), without any prompting from us. A clear violation of COVID restrictions. At the same time, another resident was attempting to leave the building and had raised her voice - the employees responded to her in a very physically aggressive manner. In addition, during my window visit with my mother, she had requested help with a clothing change on the 2nd day we saw her, but the staff left her in the same clothes for 2 days. When we spoke to management, they gave us a lot of excuses, and some employees were rude. When we mentioned that we were considering reporting them to the health department, their attitude changed.
