I easily made an appointment and the person was polite and helpful. The check-in at the front desk was also easy and the people there were very friendly, polite and helpful. I was taken to an examination room almost immediately and the assistant was friendly and helpful. Dr. Tang came in within 5 and 10 minutes for the two appointments. He was professional and very knowledgeable. I am in ongoing treatment but am very pleased so far. Thank you for asking and taking these comments seriously. I will always choose practices that use patient feedback to make positive changes. I will also highly recommend them to my friends and neighbors.

Dr. Cook was good communicating to my son who is 17. He stressed the importance of patience and time in healing as well as following medical advisement in treating his injured ankle. However, we has b to return to the practice when our Dr was not working and I was disappointed. The Dr. On duty recommended a walking boot and remove the cast which was irritating his knee. Instead of waiting for insurance approval (which the Dr. On duty did not accept out insurance ) he said unless you pay out of pocket right now we will just recast the ankle. So my son cant walk around for the next few weeks but still has to use crutches. Ive been to this practice myself and would recommend it because their physical therapist are excellent.

The people from front desk, to Dr. Tang, to the X-Ray and cast team, and the care they provide make this practice outstanding. I greatly appreciate the extra care they took with my mother, who suffers from Alzheimer’s, going so far as to let her choose her cast color, and adding glitter sparkles. My experience with Dr. Jessica Figueroa was absolutely amazing. She’s is extremely personable and professional. I had a lot of anxiety about going to a doctor for my carpal tunnel. Dr. Figueroa listened to my concerns and helped develop a course of care that she explained thoroughly. She set my mind completely at ease. My carpal tunnel surgery was the easiest to recover from of all the surgeries I’ve ever had. I wish she could be my doctor for everything. She is wonderful. Sergio, the tech who removed my stitches was very pleasant and professional as well.

Phenomenal surgical experience and follow-up with dr, pa, and radiology technician. The call center needs some work to develop their listening skills. I suspect long wait times are due to fitting in emergency case follow-ups and people fitted in to rule out possible complications. Dr. Sethi and Dr. Mess spent considerable time evaluating a potential surgical complication with a hematologist, including pushing back the surgery until everyone felt confident (including me) that they were prepared for any complications that might crop up during surgery. First Off: Dr. Sanjog Mathur is an excellent spine surgeon. Repaired a severe L5/S1 injury this past year. However: The enterprise is terrible with patient and case management, from mere appointments to cross-communications between surgeons and physical therapy (e.g., Here is the Pathology, and here is the PT that heals it. As matters evolve, there is no dialogue between PT and the surgeon.Appointments: Arrived at 10:45 for a 10:50 appointment. No paperwork necessary. Taken back to exam room at 11:25; seen by doctor at 12:10 and departed facility at 12:30. Thats an hour and 40 minutes in the facility for 20 minutes with the Dr.Going back to case management, a lingering pathology from the time of the back injury was pain in my lower-right back and hip. After two MRIs on my hip, edema was shown in both MRIs; however, Dr. Mathur could not associate with the original injury. I was left to find another specialist without further assistance from PVOA. I had to identify a hip specialist informally through PT staff. Possible labral tear. This could have been diagnosed in tandem with L5/S1 recovery.

I arrived 20 minutes early for my 2:50 appointment, and completed my sign-in on the device by 2:45. Then, the awful wait began. They had obviously overbooked as the waiting room was overflowing into the entry foyer and they almost certainly were not complying with Covid social distancing protocols. After waiting an hour and 15 minutes I went to the desk to ask if there was an issue and how much longer I would have to wait and was told There is still a 2:45 ahead of you for Dr Mathur. This mean they were scheduling patients every 5 minutes?!?!?!?. Are they billing insurance companies for full appointments at the same time? Eventually I was seen at 4:45. I was given a neck brace that hurt more wearing than not and given a prescription that didnt actually arrive at the pharmacy til then next day. I cant wait for the bill to arrive and see what they charge me for 5 minutes of not much help. However, since I used 2 hours of PTO from work to wait for no reason (I could have left at the scheduled end of shift and still been there in time to be seen when I was) I am going to insist they deduct the value of that time from the bill. Avoid at all costs!

I went to the desk and told the receptionist that I needed my insurance card that they had been holding on to back because I was leaving. I saw several people who came in after me taken back before. She asked if I wanted to cancel. I said if that is what no longer sitting here means. She gave me back my insurance card and my copayment and said sorry. She did ask if I wanted to reschedule and instead of being rude I simply not at this time. I hope no one goes back there. I had been suffering with a foot injury for a little over 3 months. The first podiatrist was never able to inform me of what was going on. A classmate referred me to Dr. Cook and without any x-rays or imaging, he was able to tell me what was wrong. After completing x-rays and reviewing my MRI, it was confirmation to what he stated. I was very pleased. My only issues was that I waited for almost an hour to be seen and the office charged my insurance company and me for my boot, which I was told that I would have to pay for and my insurance company would reimburse me. Thank God that I read my explanation of benefits. I wonder how long it will take for me to get my refund.

I had a nasty fall the other day, and went to an emergency care facility. They took x-rays and determined I had a fracture. They told me to go to an orthopedic the next day, and recommended Potomac Valley. Since the damage was to my left foot, I drove to their office by 9:45 and called from my cell to see if they could take me. They said yes, at 11:30. I asked if someone could bring a wheelchair out to get me, and the call center said yes. I was parked in front of the entrance. It took them over 1 1/2 hours to walk outside and wheel me 20 feet. I was livid! Once inside, the receptionist explained that the call center should have told me it would be a long wait because they were busy. Never mind that I called 7 times, and each time I was told someone was on the way! It was very clear she was an idiot. They left me in the car, in the rain, for nearly 2 hours. Obviously, if they could not have accommodated me, they should have said so, and I would have gone elsewhere. If that wasnt bad enough, after meeting with the seemingly competent Dr. Teng, I was left with the technician to fit me with a boot. The tech didnt wait to see if I got the hang of it or if I could make it to the door. A fracture, such as mine is extremely painful, and makes it nearly impossible to walk - even with a boot. I asked someone at the departure desk if I could be wheeled out to my car. It was raining, and I could just see myself falling in the parking lot. She barely looked up at me and said, no one is available. I told her theres a wheel chair in the back, and I could roll myself out. She got up and rolled me out herself. Thank God the urgent care center sold me crutches, which Potomac never even mentioned, as I was able to use them once I got home with the boot. No one I encountered in this awful place had any caring manners whatsoever. I toltally agree with the negative reviews. I will never return to Potomac Valley Orthopaedic Associates, and will do my follow ups elsewhere. Never again, here.

Really poor.Went here for knee problems in 2010 because my mother liked Dr. Cook who took care of her broken arm that year. Well, that is a simple problem. Cook seemed casual and unconcerned about figuring out my knee trouble (probably instigated by my digging holes for bushes), and never tried to give a solid answer after several visits. Worse, I asked him what my foot problem could be which happened to be crippling me for a week when I had a knee appt. there. Got an x-ray of foot but no solid answer - my dad was right, I just sprained my foot (accidentally twisted it a few days prior) and had to care for it for a while. As if doc didnt know anything! As for my knees, they gradually got better, and a few exercises helped - I think it was indeed the bushes! But doc didnt even offer that as a possibility!Worst of all is the casual, incompetent manner the staff handled me. Over several visits that summer I was left to my own devices by all the staff as well as the doctor. No one made sure I knew where to go/what to do next! Id sit in the room for a long time wondering if I was supposed to wait for someone, or walk to x-ray myself, have someone show me physical exercises, or leave for the day, etc. Never sure what I was supposed to do! Totally nonchalant and careless there! Never had such bad care service! (And believe me, I have/had MANY ailments using many doctors in the last 10 years!)I tell everyone DO NOT GO TO POTOMAC!

When your child gets injured, this is the place to come.I agree with those who complain about the wait times, they can be beastly. BUT, the Friday when we waited several hours to be seen, they then got us into the MRI then back to the surgeon for the surgery consultation and scheduled for surgery before we left that day - which was after 6pm. On a Friday. At no time did I feel they took advantage of our distress. Dr Gelb answered our questions and allayed our fears. He made the initial diagnosis (ACL tear), then got us the MRI for verification and to see the extent of the damage. ACL reconstruction has a small window of action for the best outcome and he was well versed in that process and made sure we were scheduled accordingly.Dr Gelb performs many ACL reconstructions and knew the most current techniques. I dont think a professional athlete couldve gotten better. The anesthesiologist was very competent, which helped make me less nervous. It was comforting to have a specialized surgery center to go to -- I worried less about secondary infections. But the true value is how much better her knee is now. We are now entering our fifth month since the surgery and progress is great. The scars are barely noticeable, range of motion is terrific, very little scar tissue, and the physical therapists are working with us to build muscle groups to prevent future tears. Thats why this practice gets my five stars.
