First let me say that the Dr. Packer was knowledgable, professional and performed my PRP injections with no issue.Second, let me say that the nurses in the back were personable, and easy to work with. This review is for the front desk staff and billing. I would give 3 stars, but no one ever reads a 3 star review. The front desk staff are some of the most rude I have ever encountered. Not just one in particular either. All of them. I asked a simple question about the forms I was being asked to sign and it seemed to offend the receptionist (nurse?) to the point of total aggravation. She kept pointing down at the form saying, just sign it. Ummm no? Then, for what reason I dont know, she asked me what I do for a living. Relevant how? I told her I have a PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and she fell silent. The second part of this review is for billing. I have been trying to get the charges reversed on my VISA card for ~week now, and the front desk tells me I have to call billing. Billing tells me I have to call the front desk. Then billing says theyll call me back and they never do. So now I have to file a dispute with my Bank. For what? They used the wrong card for payment. I just want to reverse that charge, then pay with my FSA account. Should be super simple but all I get is attitude and misdirection. There are plenty of places to get PRP. I wont be returning here in spite of Dr. Packers excellent service. Im not dealing with this desk again.

Customer service is very poor in particular for certain person Karen.and she is a real life Karen she told me I cannot make an appointment inside theres a note on the door which there was not I then called customer service and they said no you should have been able to make an appointment inside or by. I then went back inside to let her know that that was not accurate Im on the phone with customer service and she should have just went and made the appointment she then started yelling at me like she was from the streets acting belligerent and that was very unprofessional. She even yelled to me toto get out. My second complaint is with the office managerStephanie she waits 2 weeks to call me back regarding the issue after I called again about it somewhere in the 7 a.m. hour.the office business manager wasnt even handling things in a respectful business hour I called her right back once I can talk10 minutes later repeatedly and then she just doesnt answer thats just really unprofessional.

I did the virtual video visit, and the doctors seemed very caring and knowledgeable, their in the columbia location,1st when I arriveed at the camden location, I did not know I had to drive straight to the stadium so I made a left turn and ended up on the highway lol. They need to give better directions, took me 20 minutes to get off the highway and find my way back there. Then when I go straight to the stadium, its no clear directions of how to get to the clinic. Took me 5 more minutes to find the building. The only reason I went to the camden location was because Columbia was too far.3rd I get there, and the male receptionist asked me do I have an appointment, I said no Im getting fitted for a boot. He asked me my name and told me to have a seat. So Im like 12 feet away from him and he asking me out loud whats my name, doctors name what Im here for, while people are out in the waiting area. He was nice but I think thats unprofessional and violated patient confidentiality. Then he finds my info give me paperwork and said someone will be with me. Within 2 minutes a woman comes out who never identifies herself, saying my last name. She tells me Im getting fitted for a boot. She has no gloves on or nothing. I still dont know who she was, nor did she tell me how do I supposed to walk in the boot ,she just said I have to rock back and forth. Which i found myself hopping away. And she laughed. Yes it was funny lol.cause I dont know how to walk in it. And last but not least, I receive a text message for an appointment for this Friday, that i never scheduled myself. So now they scheduling patients without their consent or knowledge. They were fast, I was in and out but customer service skills and identifying yourself as a professional as u are needs to be improved within that practice. And better directions, to be honest I dont even know if I want to come back to that office because of the location and getting lost trying to find it.I do not recommend this Camden yards location or university of Maryland surgeon of orthopedics, because of unprofessionalism of the staff and the lack of help of care from the surgeons. And about that follow up appointment on that Friday, they call me up asking me about the wrong foot, they did that on my 1st appointment as well. then when I clicked on the video, the doctor is as well talking to me about the wrong foot. Then had me on hold for like 15 minutes while they review my mri results and came back and told me I was fine. I think that was unprofessional how unprepared they were. Would u want someone reading u the wrong test results twice?I cant even blame it on the doctors. Its the staff fault for giving the doctors the wrong information. I dont feel like these surgeons have helped me all they said was to prop my foot up, rest and wear a boot. Its been over 3 weeks later and my feet us in extreme pain.My primary care doctor told me not to get the mri so fast cause they wouldnt see nothing. the surgeons insistes that i do, Which I regret and I wish I listened to my primary. Cause I think Im a have to get another mri now.If u care about ur feet and overall health, I do not recommend this facility, these staff members or doctors/surgeons. They ran unnecessary test, did not prescribe me any medication, did not recommend any type of physical therapy,Im basically on my own trying to figure out how to care for my foot. Now I have to search for me a actual foot doctor who can help me. Im writing this post as Im in extreme pain after 3 weeks of a sprained ankle. I believe something else is wrong with my foot and the surgeons failed to help me ..

UMD Ortho columbia sold their patients to Orthocare Solutions. Both myself and my previous insurance company has been billed fraudulently. Dr Abawai(won’t return calls)had a man fit me for orthotics and they took almost 2 1/2 months to come in which on Orthocare site says a 5-7 day turn around.Refuse to give records, the billing manager Nicole PortnoyOCS(found in Orthocare reviews) thought she was on mute and using profanity about me to her coworker Jenny Graves. Manager Ashani (OCS) called the police when I brought reviews and federal statements in demand of my records. I believe UMD manager Stephanie is in on it. Everyone I spoke to such as police(officer called on me) and insurance adjuster said they believe something fraudulent is going on and to obtain a lawyer. Also the CFO Laura McRickard OCS posed as a patient and left review on UMD review page. On 7/17 I received a threatening letter that is disguised as a debt collector from UMMS contractor Orthocare that if I remove my yelp review from here and Orthocare they will form a settlement agreement and clear the amount owed. I CAN NOT BE SILENCED.

I have had fantastic experiences with the doctors associated with these offices, however the nightmare of dealing with the rest of the office staff makes it completely not worth it to go here. Many times Ive urgently needed something simple from them and spent an inordinate amount of time on the phone trying to get a human being to speak with, and later have had to call 5 or 6 times to get any response at all.

D.R. Henn was great; but because I have insurance I got billed $1150 for a $170 knee brace and no one could care less or try to help. My advice is to stay away but if you still feel the urge to go do not give insurance information and just pay cash because it will be cheaper in the long run

I was in the office about a month ago and saw Dr. Amir. He seemed very knowledgeable, and told me right away that I had tennis elbow. He told me to ice it down for 15 min on and off. He gave me a paper with some physical therapy exercises to do, and told me to get a compression sleeve to wear. My old orthopedic Doctor used to order anything I may need, like a back brace or a brace for my left wrist when I had a ganglion cyst and I did not have to pay any money for it. But Dr. Amir told me to buy one which ended up costing me $25, when all of my other orthopedic braces were covered by my insurance and were free. When I left the office, my right arm still really hurt and even after doing everything he suggested I do, 2 weeks later, nothing had changed. I had an appointment with my primary care physician on !0/17/18, and she gave me a shot of cortisone in my elbow, where the pain was radiating from, and it worked like a charm. Ever since that day, my arm feels like its 100% healed. Now, I ask you, WHY wouldnt Dr. Amir have done that???? He is the specialist, yet my primary care physician fixed my orthopedic problem. Please get back to me ASAP, and let me know the answer to that question. Thanks, Cheryl Deltuva-Sperlein.

This office is horrible! Very unorganized. The staff is rude. Office managers and central schedulers do not return calls. This office wasted over an hour and a half of my time, and the MD left premises during appointment, and the office staff did not inform me. Find another provider, this office is the worst.
