I had a wonderful experience from the moment I entered the office! I was greeted cheerfully and checked in super fast. There were many diagnostics/tests done on my eyes (incredible machines), and I felt confident my eyes were examined thoroughly before discussing vision surgery. Dr. Goel explained, in detail (with interactive graphics), the best options for my eyes and also gave his top recommendation. I was so confident that I scheduled my eye surgery before leaving the building! Great staff!

Goel Vision is a beautiful modern office. The staff were all very friendly. Very high tech equipment. Dr. Goel had done my original Lasik surgery a long time ago. It was nice seeing a doctor I could trust. He even caught that my contacts were overpowered from my prior eye doctor. The entire experience was very pleasant. I highly recommended this practice.

Dr. Goel and his staff are great! I went in for a consult today after years of putting it off because of my fear of the idea of lasers in my eyeballs. Everyone at the practice was so welcoming and kind that it immediately put me at ease. Dr. Goel spent a lot of time going over my options in detail and answered all of my questions openly and honestly. I’ve been wearing glasses/contacts for 30 years and have had many visits with various eye doctors - there are very few doctors that I fully trust with my vision and Dr. Goel is one of them. I recently had lasik with Dr. Goel and couldn’t be happier! Starting with my initial phone call, the experience was wonderful. Every single member of the staff is incredibly patient, kind, and compassionate (not to mention good at what they do!). The offices are so beautiful and clean, and the technology used (even for an eye exam and consultation) is impressive. Aside from that, Dr. Goel’s bedside manner is fantastic. He is thorough, patient, and answered all of my questions - and I had a lot!! He called and texted me the night of my procedure to check in, and helped arrange my follow up visit. Dr. Sunny Goel was fantastic! I traveled in from our of town (2 hours) to his facility due to his reputation and his ability to offer the SMILE surgery. He was able to do my pre-op appointment and surgery the same day, I stayed in a hotel nearby that night, and the next morning I had my post-op. It was incredibly convenient and I greatly appreciate his flexibility to make things as easy as possible for me, coming from out of town.The procedure was quick and easy. The recovery time of the SMILE procedure has been amazing - I was able to drive 2 hours home (in the rain, of course) the next morning with no issues at all. By day 3 Im basically completely back to normal.I strongly recommend that you go to Dr. Goel for your laser eye surgery needs.

I had such a good experience with setting up my consultation, going to my consultation, and then going to my surgery appointment. Dr. Goel says, “Measure twice, cut once,” which I really appreciate. I was able to request which music played in the background while my SMILE procedure was done and I thought that was a nice touch as well. Its totally worth it!!! Dr. Sonny is amazing. The process was so smooth, and even though I was really anxious the day of, he was super good at grounding me, and the surgery was quick and painless. All of the staff are really nice and helpful as well. Ill be recommending him to everyone I know now.

She was pleasant and very friendly, and made the entire experience very easy and comfortable. Dr. Goel was equally professional and explained every detail of the procedures and my options. He explained which procedure he thought was best for me and his reasons for the recommendations. I felt very comfortable with everyone who provided care for me.

10/10 would recommend Dr. Goel. Got SMILE done and the doctor did a great job. Nervous for no reason as he is very personable and walks you through everything. The procedure was quick and had no pain whatsoever. Again, highly recommended for laser surgery.

I highly recommend Lasik vision correction at Goel Vision in Columbia. Initially, I was extremely nervous but Dr. Goel and his staff answered every question and put me at ease. Dr. Goel did a wonderful job! For the first time since I was 10, I’m able to see 20/20 without the need of contacts or glasses. Having my first child four months ago really pushed me to go through with the procedure even though I was nervous. But once I had my consultation most of my nerves went away thanks to Dr. Goel. He’s very kind and walked me through every step of the process ahead of time and throughout my procedure which only took about 10 minutes! I swear, it just seemed like I was getting one of those in-depth eye exams where you watch the lights. Super easy, quick and painless. Truly a life changing experience. All the reviews are 5 stars. I dont think its because theyre scrubbing sub-perfect reviews.Dr. Goel corrected my vision using the SMILE procedure. The first visit was a free and thorough consultation. The techs explained which tests they were conducting and why. Sonny interpreted the results and described my options for vision correction.Two things were noticed: 1) Sonny distinguished his role as the doctor from the business side of things. He asked me if I had any medical questions and left the finance stuff to the office staff. 2) Surprisingly, the newer SMILE procedure (faster healing than traditional LASIK) does not cost more. That was a pleasant surprise.I was instructed to pick up two medications and eye drops, which were inexpensive (~$50) even without insurance!My next appointment was the procedure itself. I have to describe the experience as fast and easy. Sonny was efficient, but not entirely workmanlike. Great bedside manner, very calm, put me at ease.The recovery period I took very seriously. Followed the instructions provided to me, and all was well.A week after the procedure I met with Sonny again. 20/20 in one eye and 20/15 in the other. Over 4 weeks later and its holding up. Thanks Doc!

Update on 5/21: I had the surgery and everything was awesome!! They made it SO EASY for me and I was very calm as a result. I received a post surgery call from the doctor the day of surgery which was very comforting. Again, everyone in this office is wonderful and I highly recommend this office and Dr. Goel. You won’t be disappointed.I went to see Dr. Goel about lasik surgery today and was very impressed! Every person with whom I worked with today was so nice and made me very comfortable.The office is clean and spacious, and Dr. Goel was friendly and very thorough in his explanation of the procedure. I just had the smile procedure done. The staff and Dr. Goel were efficient and kind. I was nervous but they quickly placed me at ease. After the procedure I was sensitive to light but now I can see without glasses it’s amazing. I would highly recommend Dr.Goel.

I had LASIK with Dr. Goel in January 2019 and what a life changing experience this has been. I was dependent on vision correction since I was 8. My vision worsened over the years and I had higher than average astigmatism. I consulted with one other surgeon in 2018 and I was advised that only one of my eye can be fully corrected. To get a second opinion, I consulted with Dr. Goel and to my surprise, I was advised that I was an excellent candidate for 20/20 correction. I didnt even think twice and booked my surgery. Dr. Goel is experienced, caring and an expert in this field. The procedure was quick and painless and by next morning, I was 20/20. Not only I received treatment from one of the best eye surgeons in the country, I received it at an affordable price. Highly Recommended.

I have been wanting to get visual refractive surgery done for quite some time now, and being a physician myself, with the fogging of glasses due to mask wearing and the increased eye strain I’ve experienced due to screen time, I felt like this was the perfect opportunity. I honestly don’t think I’ve experienced an office staff, from front desk to nurse/tech to Dr. Goel himself as cheery, efficient, kind, knowledgeable and patient centric. I was referred to Dr. Goel from a fellow colleague. I live in Virginia, so Dr. Goel’s office is a bit of a trek for me, but it was well worth it. On my first initial consultation day, a very thorough eye examination was done, not only assessing visual acuity, but any aberrations, corneal thickness, etc. Dr. Goel exuded confidence and you could just tell, he loves what he does. He went through all the different procedural options - PRK, LASIK, SMILE and the risk/benefits of each. All of my laundry list of questions were answered before I could even ask. Luckily, I was a candidate for SMILE, which is what I was hoping for. Prior to the surgery, a few days before I had some last minute questions and jitters/fears, being as you only have one set of eyes. I was going back and forth between Contora and SMILE and Dr. Goel eased all of my concerns with his calm and personable demeanor. The turn around time was incredible as from consultation to procedure it was only 2 weeks. I entrusted him and I went with SMILE and I couldn’t be more happier that I did. Dr. Goel walks you through the entire procedure and essentially holds your hand, so that you feel at ease. The great thing about SMILE is the recovery time. There were no restrictions the following day! My vision was 20/20 at my follow up post op appointment and it’s just amazing how clear the world is now - I’m feeling very grateful and blessed! Regarding post op recovery - I haven’t really had any halos luckily. There is some photo sensitivity with bright light, which was greater in the first couple days, but has gotten a lot better each day and is par for the course of recovery. Minimal dryness and from what I hear about LASIK - there’s much more post op dryness due to the creation of a flap. All I can say is all smiles here with SMILE. I had SMILE laser eye surgery with Dr. Goel last month, and Im very impressed with the results. My vision has been corrected to 20/15 and the procedure was incredibly fast and painless. Dr. Goel and staff were very friendly, the Columbia office was new and clean, and they took various COVID precautions. There were a lot of eye drops the first week, but that was only a minor inconvenience. I would highly recommend Dr. Goel.

I am NO ophthalmologist, BUT I am a scrub tech who assists multiple ophthalmologists during LASIK, PRK, cataract, glaucoma, ocular plastic and cornea transplant surgeries for the past 5 years. I was assigned to work with Dr. Goel for a few weeks, and in those weeks, I personally saw that if I was to let ANYONE perform a LASER refractive procedure on my wife it would be... DR.GOEL!!!!!!!! Just because you’re a doctor and have allllll the knowledge of your field, does not mean you can necessarily perform surgery with great finesse. I had SMILE surgery with Dr. Goel a week ago and went from a prescription of -8.5 to 20/15 vision by the time I went for my follow-up visit a couple days later. I have had an amazing experience at Goel Vision for my laser eye surgery!! The staff was extremely helpful, patient, and kind from start to finish, including Katie, the office manager, and his techs who did my scans and assisted him during the procedure. Dr. Goel is extremely warm and friendly and made me feel very comfortable and confident with him handling lasers in my eyes. He also offers a newer version of LASIK called SMILE which I got, and it was incredible! I had it 3 days ago and my vision is already better than it was with my contacts. The recovery process is much quicker and allowed me to get back to my regular activities and touch my eyes the very next day! The procedure itself was so quick, and Dr. Goel talked me through the whole thing to ease my nerves and make me feel comfortable, including letting me pick the music in the operating room! They offer payment plans as well. I can tell Dr. Goel and every one of his staff truly care about their patients’ wellbeing and want everyone to have the best experience possible. I went to a consult at another laser vision office (a chain) and it felt like a pill mill for LASIK. The vibes in Dr. Goel’s office were so much better and I cannot recommend them enough to everyone!!

When I started researching different surgeries I noticed that SMILE had a lot of benefits over PRK and Lasik. But I couldnt find anywhere near DC that did SMILE. Then a friend highly recommended Dr Goel and I noticed that he had a lot of experience with the SMILE procedure (and basically all eye surgeries).The Dr and his staff were extremely kind, flexible, and patient. They carefully explained everything and didnt make me feel pressured to do the surgery at all. Appointments were timely and I never waited more than five minutes to be seen.The surgery itself, I have to say, was one of the coolest things Ive ever experienced. Seriously - Its not every day you sit beneath a half-million-dollar femtosecond laser. Thats not to say I didnt feel anxious walking in, but Dr Goel and his staff talked me through the whole thing and I never once felt nervous or uncomfortable. I barely felt a thing. They even let you pick the music in the operating room.Dr Goel called to check in on my later that evening, and I could already see really well. I had a check up a little over 24 hours after my surgery, and I was easily reaching 20/15 with still more space to improve! I would 10/10 recommend this place.

I just wanted to give an update on the progress of my all Lasik eye surgery. It’s been since August of 2016 and my vision is still 20/15. Although I’ve noticed a little change in my right eye, it’s not significant. I am so glad that I made the decision to have Dr. Goel perform my eye surgery; I swear it’s the best decision I ever made. I am 100% satisfied! Whatever you do, do your research! You want to get the right person to perform surgery on something so delicate as your eyesight.
