I recently stayed at this campground, not for get back to nature camping, but for the inclusive and easy-going atmosphere. The outside music that plays with the gorgeous Missouri River sunsets as the backdrop is priceless. Each time I go, Im immediately put in a peaceful and happy mood. This particular visit, I found that Michael, the General Manager, is a work horse. It was obvious that he is dedicated to the success of this business and has a strong work ethic. While he was juggling 50 tasks for the business and visitors, he made sure we knew exactly where to camp and how to hook up to the utilities. He tried to offer us options to make the stay easier. Probably because I had run my camper unintentionally up onto a boulder! :-) He later dropped off an extension cord for us, since I didnt bring all the proper supplies and equipment that I should have! Thank you to Michael or Mike. I appreciate your help tremendously. Thank you Coopers Landing for being my happy place. To all of us: Take care of this place and always take care of each other (no matter where!) :-)

Very disappointed in this business and our overall experience. We booked an RV spot months in advance and I even called and left messages multiple times to make sure we would have proper hookups etc. I never once received a call back. The day we were arriving I called multiple times, again, to see which spot we would be in… no answer. After driving down very windy roads with a huge truck and trailer, as well as a 7 month old baby, we arrived around 7pm, after a super long day of traveling, and no one was there. NO ONE.Thankfully two tenants that live on site were able to get a hold of the owner! The place had shut down a few days earlier due to bad weather. I 1,000% understand needing to shut down due to weather. I truly do. But WE did NOT receive any phone call telling us we would not have a spot to stay for two nights. They had enough time to call and have the port-o-potties removed, but not enough time to notify us we would not have a reservation. In most cases I would think to myself that they simply forgot to call us. However, the couple we were traveling with ALSO did NOT receive any sort of phone call or notification that they would not have a spot for two nights. Two reservations that were not notified… hmm. This left us and a baby, as well as the couple we were traveling with, scrambling to find two last minute spots at 8pm at night. THANKS COOPERS LANDING!On top of all of that~ we didn’t automatically receive our refunds, I had to call the place and request it. To be honest, I’m not even sure I actually got the refund either.I never leave 1 star reviews because I know how important reviews are to a business. I also love supporting small businesses… but this experience was absolutely terrible. I should have seen the red flags of not receiving a call back from the very beginning.

We really enjoyed our stay at Coopers Landing. All the staff we interacted with exceeded our expectations. Our River Front camping spot had 30 and 50 Amp service, water and a firepit. The marina was stocked with an unbelievably selection of beverages and ice. We also really enjoyed riding our bikes on the trails that run right along the campground. We also enjoyed the live music and food trucks that were on site each of the 3 nights we camped. (Independence day weekend)Overall a great place to spend a few days and well camp here again.

Great place, quite the experience. Its location provides opportunities to meet people whether they are there as a stop on the Katy Trail ride, for one of the food trucks, purchase one of the many craft beers sold,, or to listen to one of the bands.

Beautiful spot on the river. Getting there is not big rig friendly. Several miles on a narrow winding road with some low hanging trees the last half mile was a one lane gravel road with a drop off to the river. Sites are not well defined. Our 50amp did not work. Would not recommend.

Having stopped at Coopers twice now, its a nice place for a break and a brew. For me though, it just seems to be a little too busy. Perhaps Im just getting old. They often have food trucks and music in addition to camping along the river, so its a great spot to hang out with friends.

If you want a nice quiet campsite, go somewhere else. Great Location right on the Katy Trail. Everything else sucks. Well, except the beer selection at the store is good. And if youre a partier and want to hear live music by local bands, this is your place, stay here...My whole issue with this place: absentee ownership. No one there, they dont answer the phone, and its expensive for what you get. We think someone was parked in our site, but who knows cuz nothing is labeled, and no one to notify. The store was supposed to be open Mondays, but it wasnt. When it finally did open (late, 4:30pm Tuesday, supposed to be 2pm-9pm daily), the employee was completely indifferent: send it in an email to the owner.Sites are cramped, mud pit if it rains, electric hookup is weird, could not find water hookup until I spotted a filthy hose that was left in a mud puddle that thankfully had dried up. I cleaned up the nozzle and used it anyway. Also, note that the glowing reviews are from people who did not stay overnight. Those are from the partiers who come to drink and for the live music... Also a lot of locals just show up to wander around the campgrounds and hang out by the river. In short, unless you like live music and drinking, nothing to recommend here. Avoid.

Although change is hard to see sometimes, thos is still an excellent place to soak up river vibes. The staff are awesome, the refreshments refreshing, and when theres a band the entertainment is excellent. And if you can hop a ride on the river, this is a good spot to do it from.

Coopers landing is an interesting place on the Missouri River. Its a bit rugged, not having any pavement but gravel for its road and walkways. When we got there, it would rain the night before and was quite muddy. We were able to find a dry spot to unload our bicycles. The store is interesting and theyve always had good music on weekends. I dont know if thats still going on as we dont get out much due to Covid-19.

The one star is for Rodney being welcoming. We were driving across country and needed a quick campsite for the night and all the state parks required a reservation 24 hours in advance. After the long winding drive in the dark fog we arrived just before 9 as the restaurant was shutting down.We were shown a “campsite” near the water next to a fire pit where his buddies were hanging out. He kicked them out and gave us their campfire which was littered with tools, an I beam, and a leaf blower - we think they were “forging”.They kindly left and Rodney assured us that the lights and music would be cut at 10 when the dinner guests left. We set up our tent and got in hoping for a few good hours of sleep before getting back on the road only to be kept awake by several hours of late night partying. Someone shot off fireworks as a large barge went past and several guys walked into “our site” talking loudly to get firewood in the middle of the night. We felt totally unsafe and got no sleep. Don’t waste your $20 unless you’re looking to stay up partying all night next to the river.

Not a place for family camping. Too loud, too obnoxious the gravel road is too busy and their fire pits need work they do not have grates on them. The good side of this place is it is beautiful and their staff is very friendly and they allow dogs as long as they are on a leash. However, I would not recommend it for families.
