Very friendly family run campground. They welcomed me in immediately and the cabins and campsites are clean. Bathrooms are cleaned regularly too. Plus you get to walk up and see the wolves at the nearby Lakota Wolf Preserve. Pet friendly as long as your dog is quiet and you are responsible enough to pick up after it. The hardwood firewood is harvested on site and burns well. I have been here several times and this campground is quickly becoming my go-to spot!

This was our familys first time at this campground. It seems that the owner cares about the place. It was clean with small touches that show someone is keeping up with things. Since all of our party couldnt arrive before 9 PM we checked in the next day losing a RV nights charge for three sites.. Check-in was fine, although the ladies at the desk were not very hospitable. By 10:50pm the owner and his son were making rounds asking that everyone acknowledge the quiet hours, which was fine with us. On check out day we had some issues and were behind schedule. We were packing up feverishly when the owner came over, stood at the edge of our campsite and started yelling at us that check out time is 3 oclock and we werent close enough to being out. We told him that we were in the process of packing down. Still yelling, he told us that when he came back, wed better be leaving. He came back a half hour later with an even angrier voice. So I went to the office and told him that we would just pay whatever he wanted even though we were only about two hours behind schedule. But because he was so angry and antagonistic, we didnt want any problems with him. I told him that I thought his reaction was uncalled for just because of someone being a little late checking out. I said if you had a late check out fee, we wouldve just paid it. But no one should be harassed in this way. As a nurse with a very stressful job right now, I was just looking for a peaceful, quiet, relaxing weekend. This place could be that, but I have a feeling that the owner sets an example for his family being unyielding, nit-picky and easily irate when challenges arise. So no matter how nice of a place it is, its probably not worth it! Thats the only reason I gave it 3 stars.

Beautiful grounds, very private with lots of wooded space in the tenting area. The seasonal grounds look very inviting and many long term people are friendly and gracious. The Lakota preserve is located here and its worth the stay to hear the wolves at night. The hosts are wonderful and hospitable if you are a polite and sincere guest. Facilities are clean and well maintained.

So far so good. Nice, clean Campground. Great access to Mount Tammany, but very strenuous hike through the mountains. You just to be aware of the steepness so you can be prepared for it. Im staying in one of there deluxe cabins. Its very clean and well maintained. There are tents and RVs sites as well. Oh, they also have rustic cabins. I definitely would like to come back for some tent camping in the future⛺. Great family location!

No FHU. W/E only in site 55. All back in sites. $47/night. No discounts offered. Good for an overnight. Steep hills getting to the campground. Turn left where it says Wolf preserve, its in the back of the property. Staff said this is bear country, so dont leave food out. It would be nice for longer stays as well. We are just passing through on our way home from Maine.

We camped here in August. What a great campground! The staff was friendly and the facilities are well kept. Our site was spacious. I stayed at this campground about 25 years ago as a teenager and so glad to finally make it back there with my own family. Such a great campground to unwind and take in nature. We didnt have great cell service but we could care less about that. The Lakota Wolf Preserve is definitely worth the visit. You can hike right from the campground to Mount Tammany. This was about 7 mile round trip and totally worth it. Such amazing views! I would stay here again without a doubt!

We were told to put it out and that no fires until 7pm.Leaving before our second night and wont be returning. Wish we could get a refund on the night were not using and the flipping expensive wood we bought.DO NOT BOTHER.Camp on state land or something.$37 a night for this.$5 will get you a site in the Pinelands with no restrictions and head counting.

I recently stayed at this campground at the end of July 2021 for two nights and three days. They were accommodative enough to let me to do an early check in. So I checked in around 1 pm instead of 3 pm. Overall we had a good time. However the reason I took out two stars are the following.1. Reception and staff - we were received by two girls and they looked very bored during the check in process. Even when you call the campground one of the girls picks up and just says Taylor and waits, not even welcome to Camp Taylor or Camp Taylor, how can I help you. They did not seem very enthusiastic about answering questions as well. When we left we spent some time in the game room and had parked outside it. One of the men from the reception told us you are taking 4 spots despite the fact that there were no parking lines marked.2. Campsite - while I do understand the reason they have gravel roads, I cannot understand why an actual tent site has so much gravel making it very difficult to pitch a tent by driving the stake into the ground or to just put some tiki lamps. It was a horrible experience setting up the tent.3. Not kid friendly - we had a 4 year old with us and a 7 year old. They were active and playing and someone stopped by at 11:30 pm and said that it is quiet hours and not to make any noise. I did not find this to be too kid friendly. The campground can say what it wants but I strongly believe this was not a too kid friendly site.4. Firewood - you cannot carry your own firewood. However the ones they sell do not give a blazing fire. So it put us in a place where we couldnt enjoy the fire that much despite paying to buy the wood.5. Hiking trails - There is no trail map available on-line to be able to plan your hikes. When you call you are just told they have a hike through the Water gap but they dont explain that it is quite a long walk to get to that hike and quite nearly impossible if you are traveling with kids. Even the Lakota wolf preserve did not have availability the days we were there. It is a walk up some paths to reach the Wolf preserve from the camping site but nowhere on the map is the actual distance also called out. Since you dont have a trail map before going to this place, it becomes difficult planning the hikes. The least they can do is put the trial maps with actual distances called out on the website.6. Bathrooms - The bathroom appears fairly old in texture and look. I have seen better bathrooms in state sites.7. Wolf sounds - the much hyped about wolf howls at night from the Lakota wolf preserve never happened. It was definitely worth a one time visit and prices of things you can buy in the store is very reasonable but overall I think I am going to keep looking.

The swimming pond is pleasant and great to cool off in. The bathrooms/showers are clean and well maintained. The small mini-golf course is a fun distraction for a bit. There are great trails to hike to right from the campground as well as the Wolf Preserve. We stayed along the Creek which was nice and combined an RV and tent site to accommodate our family. Water and electric hookups are standard, no sewer, but there is a dump station. The store is cute and has just about anything that you need.

On the way out right before the store, the grade caused my back jacks to dig in. Also, there was no way I was getting into the dump station given that angle. This place is very basic camping and if you know that ahead of time, you will enjoy it very much! Theres no pool but a clean, small lake. No fishing in the lake. Many sites are seasonal but they do have spacious and shaded sites that have electric and water and plenty of rough sites (no water or electric at the sites). They have several cabins to rent. Dont expect anything glamorous or many free extras but you have peace, trees, hiking trails, lots of woods near by and of course the best part the Lakota Wolf Preserve. This is a great campground for all! They offer something for everyone. Great for groups, families, kids or even a guys weekend away. Great hiking options too as it connects to the Delaware Water Gap trail system.I really appreciate how they are a bit more relaxed when it comes to regulations. As long as you play by the rules and are respectful, they won’t give you a hard time. We decided to go to camp Taylor last minute so a unplanned trip didnt go well at first. We missed the wolf tour because I was to lazy to read that you need tickets in advance and they are sold out for about two weeks due to a Corona schedule. However you can walk the trails and view the wolf sanctuary from the outside perimeter. We did get lucky from the outside and actually see a wolf however he was more interested in sleeping than he was looking at us. If youre into hiking and walking this place has endless trails it is an enormous piece of property I believe they said 400 acres. It is a family-owned business and all of the family works there we were lucky enough to get some time to speak with the daughter of the owner. And was able to find out how the whole entire camp thing started It was very interesting. Youre not allowed to bring in wood from the outside but they have a decent bundle for five bucks and its dry. They also dont want mammoth bonfires there so for about 20 bucks you can burn from dark to 2:00 a.m. with the decent size fire. The property is extremely clean and litter free. The campsites for tents all seem to vary in size however they all seem to be more than adequate. We paid $35 a night for two people which I thought was more than reasonable for what they have there. They have ice and vending machines for cold drinks as well as snacks inside. They also have a nice little wolf gift shop which goes towards helping the wolves we bought a wolf lamp and a hummingbird feeder. We were able to get the wolf lamp for $49 which I thought was an excellent bargain. In my poor planning I didnt realize that I hadnt brought coffee either I went to the store in the morning and lo and behold they sell coffee. At $0.25 a cup and I kid you not. Also through Uber and dealing directly with restaurants were able to get assorted different foods delivered to the campsite. They also have a game room and a lounge but unfortunately we missed that as they were closed due to the Corona. All in all the place gets five stars was very nice relaxing weekend and we will definitely be back soon. a special thanks to the Taylor family for all the hard work you put into camp Taylor.

I came here several times as a kid and loved it. I came back as an adult with my own kids and stayed in an RV rental they had. The RV was great and the scenic campground can’t be beat, the location is beautiful. The only reason I don’t give it 5 stars is because the “swimming pond” is gross, the playground area is pretty run down and they don’t mess around after 11, they say it’s quite hours but they really just want you to go inside and sleep. Even quietly talking to your wife around the fire will be an issue. I would still go back though, as strict as they are about the noise, they are still very friendly. The campsites are beautiful.

The facilities are always clean, the RV and Cabin rentals are always in great condition. The Taylor family have always been polite, helpful and courteous. I have been to state owned and private camp grounds throughout the state, and this is by far the best. The wildlife is amazing (You are in Sussex County= Bear) deer are awesome, the lake is clean. If you are afraid of Bear dont reserve a a tent, sit and then complain to the owners. Common sense rules here. The people with negative comments and bad reviews are the people who were most likely removed because of their pathetic/drunken behavior. There is no reason to rent a site, cut down trees, shoot pellet guns, and destroy the vacation for your neighbors who have children. Thank you again to the Taylor Family. We have been going to Camp Taylor at least once a year for the past 6 years and we love it there! Unlike many other campgrounds, you get the true camping experience. The camp sites are in the woods and not in an open field and they each have a fire pit for a camp fire and a flat area for setting up your tent(s). If youre into it, you can collect firewood for your fire from naturally fallen trees to save some money (Camp Taylor also sells firewood). Walking up to see the wolves is always fun and hearing them howl at night is a unique experience. If you like hiking, youre also covered: past where the wolves are there is a hiking trail that will lead you to a beautiful view of the Delaware Water Gap. Camp Taylor is family oriented and they enforce quiet hours so people can enjoy nature and their sleep at night. That doesnt mean you cant talk or listen to music past 11 PM; just keep the volume down and be respectful of your camping neighbors and you will be fine. There are portable bathrooms near the campsites but you also have the option of walking down to the office area where they have real bathrooms and coin-operated hot showers if you need to feel more at home when going to the bathroom. On top of all of this, Mr. Taylor and his family are always extremely nice and go out of their way to ensure that you have a great experience while staying there. Go visit Camp Taylor during your next camping trip and you will not regret it!

My children and I were in the area to hike the Appalachian Trail and meet friends and last minute we chose this campground. I can say I am very pleased that we did. I am an avid camper and hiker and was extremely pleased with the grounds and the staff. It was a small quaint general store that gives you the feeling of being in the mountains. I was very pleased with how wooded most of the sites were and gave an air of privacy. Lots to do to keep my children happy, being teenagers this can be a task. They told me they enjoyed it and chose to stay the second night. We stayed on a Saturday and a Sunday night, Sunday night was very quiet. I would say the only suggestion that I would make is to perhaps move the trash around the park to steel cans with lids, in case of bear issues. I did pass a adolescent Bear in the area, but had no problems whatsoever at the camp. The Staff was helpful and kind. They had fun events as well hosted by management and also a Wolf Sanctuary that you could walk to. Bathrooms and showers were clean and well managed. I will definitely be going back. Everyone was nice. Id suggest asking for their hiking map available at the front desk if youre interested in a hike or two... they have two trails on their property with one accessing the National Trails (something for every skill level). My family stayed here for 1 night in conjunction with this locations participation in Tents for Troops. I wish we could have stayed longer, but I had to report for duty in CT. This is a very cool location with good amenities and courteous staff. Good hiking, wolves (in an enclosed, viewable area), foxes (same, although I bet there free ranges foxes here too), as well as other wildlife (saw a rabbit and a very tame deer and was told there was a black bear passing through). Highly recommended; I would come back here for a spring, summer, or fall vacation. I couldnt find laundry facilities. Note on getting there: call ahead and ask for the easier grade route if youre towing something heavy. It uses Benton Road from 94. I took the way suggested by Google maps and it was very unnerving to climb two giant hills. Never seen my truck work that hard before, but it barely made it, thank goodness.

Love this place! The workers are super friendly and the place is really clean! They sell wood and ice on the grounds and have a little store that sells some cool things as well. The wolfs In the distance howling is just so cool! Showers are nice although the soap holders have gotten a bit rusty..There is a huge straight up hill driving in but other then that and awesome place to camp!! We will be back. :)

Update!! Was back again to stay here last month and had a great time and so enjoyed seeing the bear and deer that wander through out the park. Again the wolves can be heard if you listen closely from their preserve. A must see!! Great nature experience.I was at Camp Taylor for 6 beautiful day and nights starting June 17th. The sites were large and well taken care of as is the whole camp. I had a great view of the lake and was within walking distance to the beach. The wolf preserve was very interesting and worth every cent. Jeanne and her husband made you feel welcome as did all the workers. Close to lots to do like walking the AT or horseback riding. Short distance from Interstate 80.

Love this campground with adjacent wolf preserve. You really get a chance to get back to nature with fire pits, nature trails and just peace and quiet. Professional staff who are extremely courteous. My family has been going there for years.

Had a fantastic time camping with the family this weekend! Clayton, Josh, and the rest of the Camp Taylor family are truly accommodating and a joy to talk to. The wolf reserve is just the cherry on top and what makes this campground pretty up unique.

Have been to camp Taylor 5-6 times now- always enjoyable! Sure the spaces are close in a few areas - but not all of them! If you are an idiot that can’t behave in public, expect trouble! I have yet to see owners as involved as the Taylor’s in the going’s on!

Absolutely horrific experience. The owner is very rude and wouldn’t even make eye contact with us when we had concerns. Tried to scare us off the property when he didn’t want us there. Highly DO NOT RECOMMEND this place. Save your money.
