I absolutely love the girls at this salon. They are very professional and fun. Priscilla does an excellent job.Some reviews I have read on here come from clients bring in several pictures and working in a salon for 18 years, some ideas are just not possible with your hair type/color. It could possible be done over several sessions. I suggest discussing what is possible.The review the lady put about being unsafe with the door locked...I have worked in a salon full of women that was held up by an unknown male. I 100% prefer the doors to be locked to keep everyone safe from this crazy world we live in! Not to mention Covid rules and regulations. It is very easy to call and let them know you have arrived like several other business require still.

Making an appointment was difficult and I should have taken that as an omen. My daughter wanted a hip and trendy cut and style, so I persisted and got her an appointment. Aside from the business going against fire codes and locking customers in while conducting business during business hours, the stylist could not comprend to give a short styled haircut in just a little longer of a cut. The style my daughter wanted was about an inch in the back and I instructed to blend it and leave it a little longer, meaning 2-3 inches. She proceeded to leave more like 6 inches and use a razor to leave uneven cuts. Once more, we paid for a styling. The picture my daughter showed had the bangs of the hair curled and the stylist acted as if curling her hair was a problem. Ruined our outing for the day. Went to Great Clips and got a less embarrassing haircut.

Follow-up to previous review: I need to get another perm because of new growth; but, the perm I got in January is still bouncy. I dont think the chemicals in the perm solution caused damage. My hair never got that dried, crispy, frizzy texture that overworked hair gets. Really good job!Kaylee gave me exactly the perm I wanted. Shes a genuinely nice lady with gentle hands. The salon is clean and organized and the people who work there are friendly toward each other; it has a comfortable vibe. Ill go back.

I cannot express enough how in love I am with my new hair color! Priscilla was amazing and managed to remove an extremely difficult color from my hair and give it a gorgeous new color and trim. Everyone at the studio was super nice and had wonderful energy! I think I found my forever studio 😍

Had an appointment with Miss. Lana, she did a fabulous job with my curly hair. She listened to what I wanted and had some great conversation during my cut. I have found my stylist!!

My hair is dark colored and I wanted a new hair color without the bleach but after the color it didn’t show at all. My hair is now very rough and feels dry. I explicitly asked for a deep conditioning treatment but that was poor quality too.

Lana gave me such a great haircut! She looked at my picture and asked questions to ensure it was just the way I wanted it. Highly recommend!

This place is the best! Whatever crazy thing I want done to my hair, Priscilla always makes it happen. The prices are fair and I have had no problems nor surprises. If I have a question about anything such as prices, color, quality of a particular brand, etc, she always gives me a straight forward answer and isnt deceptive of any kind. My extensions are the best quality and look fabulous! Ive gotten so many compliments on them, even as far as people saying I look younger with them 😁.They also have the best eyelash gal too, Megan so go see her! She does a great job and her prices are on point. Its actually like a one stop shop there.....hair, eyelashes, eyebrows, waxing, and even facials! I LOVE THIS PLACE!

Amanda was excellent. I have a scar on my scalp and she was able to cut my hair so that it isnt visible/doesnt show through. Ive been to other salons in town and the scar has been a real issue (which is why I get haircuts so infrequently). I love my haircut! I went in without any idea of what kind of cut I should get and Amanda was great at suggesting a cut that would suit me. The salon is clean and well kept.

Priscilla did a great job with my hair and was very kind and friendly throughout the process. While I was content with the service, I was taken aback when my bill, which I expected to be around $140, per the website, was $245. I went in for a full highlight and a cut; she ended up charging me for balayage, charged me additionally to wash my hair (which should have been a part of the highlighting service), and added a service that cost upwards of $70, which I was completely unaware of. I expected additional costs to have been openly communicated during the process rather than sneakily added at the end.I still recommend Priscilla because she is extremely talented. All I would advise is that you ask for the cost of every single thing she does to avoid such significant additional costs through deceptive up selling.

Kaylee is by far, one of the best hair stylists that I have ever been to!She takes the time to ensure that she perfects your style, is extremely knowledgeable on today’s products and never makes you feel rushed. I would recommend her to anyone wanting a stylist who truly cares about her clients and their experience.Thanks Kaylee for the awesome hairdo!

Tasha is a great waxer! We (my daughter and I) followed her from European Wax to here. Prices are SO reasonable it is unreal!The salon in general is clean and comfortable in the waiting area. Each stylists has their own private room. The place is kinda dark due to black paint but does have happy and bright decorations. The music is sorta loud but then again I am almost 47😂😂

I will ONLY go to Funky Cheveaux and specifically, Priscilla. Not only is she super knowledgeable, she takes the time to find out what I like and dislike about my current cut/color, and what I like and dislike about what I’m asking for next. She goes through photos with you to make sure she is on the exact same page with you. I NEVER leave her unhappy with my color/cut! She is fantastic at everything, whether we’re doing vivid teal and purple hair or dark brown. Also, love the new facility! It’s gorgeous and sophisticated yet still funky 😍

LANA! This place is so amazing, after finally searching for a place in the College Station area to trust with my hair I found it! Lana did an absolutely great job. I do not trust many people with my hair especially when it comes to color I have damaged my hair so much in the past and when it comes to going a lighter color I freak out. The entire time she was bleaching I was driving her crazy with the fear of going orange. She was so reassuring and so understanding. My hair looks and feels amazing. I can not wait to go back to finish my coloring process. This woman will forever have my business.

Absolutely fantastic. The place was super cute with a somewhat new Orleans meets artistic studio vibe. The stylists were very nice and held great conversation. The price was comparable to other salons in town.

So I went to Megan after being referred by a friend. I was super nervous because I have difficult hair to highlight. It always turns brassy orange. I showed Megan a picture of what I was trying to achieve with caramel highlights, subtle, color touch up on top for my roots, plus an awesome haircut (of course!). She did everything and more. There wasnt one hint of orange in my hair and the highlights were beautifully done. My haircut was amazing too! All of this was also for a great price. I am super excited that I found Megan and definitely recommend her for highlights and haircuts!

I was definitely hesitant before booking my appointment, considering all the reviews, but I figured Id give Funky Cheveux the benefit of the doubt. When I called in to book my appointment the receptionist was amazing she booked my appointment without putting me on hold and immediately sent me an email confirmation! My hair stylist, Jessica, was beyond fabulous. My hair was super long and slightly damaged on the end, and Jessica knew just what to do. I am often skeptical when people say trust your stylist but shes definitely someone to trust. My hair just how I wanted it and I didnt have to bring her pictures she completely understood. Though the place a bit pricey, its totally worth it. For a girl who only cuts her hair like every 3-4 months.. or even less its totally worth it! Ill definitely be back!

This was my first experience there. I mentioned clearly I dont want it short but it ended up being so extremely short. I even told them I have to grow my hair out for an important event in 6 months which is why I dont want it short. The lady who cut my hair seemed very nice but she was clearly struggling and kept cutting more and more to even things out I guess, at one point calling her senior after huffing when I pointed out its not even. Very disappointing haircut on my birthday of all things. 2 stars for the politeness and environment.

Amanda is always so amazing! Ive been going to her for about 3 years now. She is always patient with my annoying questions and gives me her honest opinion when I ask for hair advice. And I trust her advice, shes never failed me (or my hair)! The salon is pretty cool lookin too. :)

I was nervous about getting my hair cut again, after a bad experience at a different place (she cut my bangs too short while wet.. you get the picture.) I signed up for a dry cut with Brittany and she was really awesome. She listened to me and gave me exactly what I wanted. She got me in and out of there in about 15 minutes, and even added some product to my hair to enhance my waves! The staff was really nice too. Not to mention it was only $25! Ill definitely be going back :)

I first started coming here a little over 4 years ago to see a certain stylist. She then moved and I followed her. After she left the business for good for personal reasons I was on the search again for another stylist. The day came where I went to someone who totally butchered my hair. So worried to try anyone else, but I finally called to schedule with someone at Funky Cheveux. That was when Jessica sent me home with that WOW Id been looking for. Ive have now been going to her for almost two years already and never leave with less than an amazing feeling! Not only did she regain my spirits but the upbeat atmosphere will always be referred by me!

I went here to get my hair changed from blonde to a light brown (sounds easy enough) What she ended up doing was bleaching my hair and colored it ORANGE! I complained so she did another treatment and turned it bright orange with some brown chunks all over! Sad thing is i couldnt do anything for 3 months so i was stuck with ugly chunky hair. I went to A Wild Hair and theyre just great! :)

I had been putting off getting my hair done for a year after a horrible mishap at a salon in Houston (took hundreds of dollars to fix... and many subsequent nightmares). After a year my roots had not only grown out quite a bit, but it looked like a long long rats nest. I am not joking when I say I was sweating and slightly queasy as I made my appointment at a new salon. After 1.5 hours of meticulous highlighting we washed out the color. Pulling out the mounds of tin foil, Jessica (my savior) casually said Doesnt look like we need toner; Now if you are a light blonde you understand the weight of this statement. For others: toner is a common product used to take the brassiness out of blondes, almost always used with platinum blonde. She wasnt kidding, she did an amazing job. To top it off, I had a great time chatting and she couldnt have been sweeter. I am moving to Houston for good in couple weeks, but I wont risk another strand knowing that I have found Jessica at Funky Cheveux, I would easily drive even further if need be!

I took my three year old son here at 7:30 at night .....the night before thanksgiving.first it was late they were the only place open, 2) my son had no nap that day and he is just really active all together. he was horrible!! BUT our stylist Hunter was amazeing!! he never made me fill like my kid was annoying and he listen to everthing i said ....cut more when i askedand styled it for him. just over all great experince i will be going back for my son and my self

I recently got married and searched for hair salons that did hair and makeup so I could get it all done at once, most places offer a free trial run so that you can see how they do your hair and makeup to tell if you l like it and what they need to do differently. After my trial run I was impressed with the service I had received and went on my way. Well the day of my wedding I received 3 phone calls asking if I would want to move my hair appt. which was kind of annoying but I did go ahead and move my appointment so I could have more time to do things. i hate change but i went with the flow. I arrived 10min early to my appt to find out that they couldnt get ahold of my stylist (which was the manager) but no matter what i would be taken care of. So as im trying not to freak out the receptionist keeps trying to reassure me that i will be take care of but i could tell she was freaking out just as much as i was. 20 min later they finally got ahold of her and told me it would be another 30 min or so. i patently waited and never complained. after those 30 min were up and still she wasnt there i asked where she was they said it would be another 15 min. so i waited. once she finally showed up she did good work but it felt rushed. i went to pay and they tried to charge me for the trial run i had before. the nerve of these ppl to ask me to pay for a free service after making me wait for that long.

I just went in to this store about 30 minutes ago. I have had some bad experiences getting haircuts and I have to say that this was the opposite of that. I think when I left, my stylist thought I was a bit salty about the cut, but that was only because I have had only bad experiences getting cuts in this town. I got home and took a mirror and looked at how well of a job my stylist did....I wish I tipped more :B def returning back and would suggest this place to anyone

They say down with me and talked with me about what I wanted, what I liked and disliked about my hair, if I was having any issues, and then did a great job with the hair cut.
