Anna did my facial and was a consummate professional. She’s kind, knowledgeable, and extremely skilled. She walked me through everything, including aftercare, and answered all my questions. I will absolutely be back for more services from her. Facilities and staff were also excellent.

I started to come to Proper Balance about a month and a half ago and already I’ve seen much improvement. I initially came because of ongoing neck and back aches/pains, and from the start Dr. Knox was really helpful in explaining what needed to get done in order to get rid of what I was feeling. My experience with Proper Balance Health has been wonderful. I came in for a PRF facial (amazing), but decided to take them up on the offer of an initial scan and exam. I was a bit skeptical at first because I had been living with this pain and stiffness for so long that I didnt realize how bad it had become, but was immediately sold after that first adjustment. Proper Balance Healthcare used a wide range of services to get me healthy and back running when I wasn’t certain that would be the case. In just a couple months I went from dealing with foot drop and severe nerve pain to basically being pain free and able to start introducing running again. They utilized traction adjustments, massage therapy, shockwave therapy, trigger point needling, PT and PRP injections. I couldn’t be happier with my results!

Signed up for a massage through class pass was informed when I arrived that class pass had it wrong and they didnt have any availability for me. Obviously that was a little annoying considering I had driven all the way there and was expecting to get a massage. Was not offered to reschedule or any solution really... You should not be on class pass if the schedule is not going to be correct! And I would not have bothered to leave a review if its not your fault had the man at the front not been so condescending and flippant about it. Okay... Yes, he emailed, he asked if I received it, I checky then, it had come at 1:03, it was 1:15. He asked if I had just made the appointment and I said I made it this morning yes and he said oh so like an hour ago. Yall did pay for my parking, Ill give you that! But again, did nothing to make up for or even apologize for my time and having driven all the way there.

The first time we saw Dr. Cox was for my then 4 year old daughter. My daughter had suddenly begun limping and complaining that her leg hurt. We took her to her pediatrician who ordered x rays but ultimately didn’t find anything wrong. Very frustrating.A friend of mine had recommended Dr Cox so we decided to give her a shot. Dr. Knox and the Proper Balance Healthcare staff CHANGED MY LIFE! I came to Dr. Knox in early September after seeking treatment else where that just wasn’t working. I had been experiencing pain in my neck and back at 10+ levels most of the summer. After taking X-rays, I was surprised to learn that I had scoliosis and a reverse curvature in neck. Looking at the x-rays of my neck and back next to x-rays of what they should look like was beyond scary. Dr. Knox was right there with me, even through the tears, to reassure me that things would get better. She laid out a wellness plan for me which included other things then just the traditional adjustments, i.e. shockwave, trigger point injections and physical therapy. Being very scared and uncomfortable of manual adjustments, the pulstar machine Dr. Knox uses on me is perfect, a machine that aligns without cracking or popping.At the beginning of all this I was in agony and crying from pain most days. I can now say that is a thing of the past and I owe it all to Dr. Knox and her team! My goal at the beginning of all this was to be functioning at a normal level by my birthday. I cant stop talking about this place! I discovered them through Groupon for a 90 minute prenatal massage ( Im 7 months pregnant) and let me tell you Carey took me to a different world! She was so great and got all my aches and pains out! Also after my massage I spoke to Christina one of the many chiropractors there and she aligned me and put me on a plan to help me get straightened out and get my best self ready to deliver in November. I now come here weekly to get re-alligned and mostly everything is covered through insurance. I cant reccomend this place enough. If you have good insurance and want to be in great hands please do yourself a favor and go here.

I have been coming to proper balance for a year now because I had issues with trigger points causing chronic pain, muscular imbalances, and spinal compression. After a few weeks of treatment my chronic pain was reduced and felt more mobile and confident when I was working out. Now a year later I still visit for regular maintenance work but I am beyond great full to the great staff that have helped me regain my health! I felt the massage was beneficial in understanding what massage works best for me. My masseuse was very kind but did put a little too much pressure resulting in my muscles being severely sore the next day after the massage. 48 hours later my muscles are much less sore but i can still tell. I will definitely stick to a milder massage when dealing with my personal soreness but overall great experience

Christina is AMAZING. I went to her when I was 32 weeks pregnant and had such awful back pain I couldn’t do daily activities. Through adjustments and prenatal massage, I was able to get through the last few weeks of my pregnancy pain-free. Christina has two kids of her own and has “been there” so she really can be help not just physically but emotionally too.

Outstanding service and care throughout my entire treatment plan. I went to Dr. Knox with multiple sprains to my right ankle, that I had never properly dealt with. I have been a client of Proper Balance for over 10 years to deal with chronic neck issues. Sometimes my neck gets so that it is painful to move left or right. My massage was painful 90% of the time. I told her to take some pressure off but she just changed the way/rotation. Her breath reeked of cigarettes, even when he mouth wasnt open. Massage room was really sketchy with just a bed, chair and small shelf with lotion on it...would not go back, thankfully it was a groupon gift certificate.

First off, I have been a medical massage therapist, a licensed RN, and spent years as a college level healthcare educator. I am VERY picky about who I seek healthcare from. I have moved quite a few time in my life, so I have seen many providers over the years. Carol, a nurse practitioner, is one of the absolute best aesthetics health care providers out there! She is skilled, knowledgeable, and kind. She always gives choices from least invasive on up, and I never feel like she is over selling me. I am absolutely hooked on the PRP facials, and highly recommend them, for anyone looking for something that gives a big impact, while being minimally invasive. I also get Botox, and have done fillers with Carol, and have been quite happy with all results! As long as I am in the Chicagoland area, I will be coming back to Carol.
