TLDR: Did the wrong service yet insisting on charging fees associate with it. Avoid this place if you want to preserve your physical and mental health.Horrible experience at the Imaging Center at the Lavin Building and horrific experience with NM overall. They placed me in the wrong MRI machine, despite me triple checking with multiple staff members that I needed a 3T MRI, which is the only reason I went to NM instead of Rush. The staff was clearly overworked due to this hospitals poor management and machines were breaking down, so they had to take me to another room and to my dismay they didnt take me to a 3T one. After the MRI was done, I had a feeling they took me to the wrong machine so I asked the radiologist if this was a 3T machine and he said yes, but he lied! Thankfully the nurse overheard and clarified that it wasnt 3T but then the nurse proceed to gaslight me saying it wasnt on my chart that you needed 3T. So basically, he admitted they dont do proper documentation in patents charts. Because if something is not documented, after Ive requested it multiple times, thats on you. The patient should not be the one over and over again asking for what they need. I had to advocate for myself so they wouldnt charge me for a second MRI yet they still want to charge me the reading for both, even after escalating the issue. I do not recommend NM and will not be referring my patients nor friends and family members to this hospital system. This was my first and last experience here.

This is a North American hospital, lower your expectations and know that you will deal with bureaucracy.I came to get blood work done from an outside doctor to stay in network. I will return in the future, everyone involved (Security, Registrar, Phlebotomist) had good bedside manner.Pricing is publicly unavailable for most of the services, if you have insurance provide that otherwise you will be billed at the time of registration.

The person who registered me (Juanita) was very rude, when I approached her window and said Hello, she didnt even reply. Not very welcoming to a new patient like myself. The whole time she didnt even look at me and was rude. The phlebotomist was great.

Around 10am yesterday, I went to get blood-work testing on the second floor in the diagnostic center.First, I was there for less than 20mins.Two, a woman named Sharonda did the procedure. Sharonda was extremely pleasant and friendly. I found her to be very professional and polite.I was very comfortable with Sharonda as her personality was perfect for the job! God bless you dear lady.Because of you I can truly say their services have greatly improved, and Im leaving it at that. 🤷‍♀️🥰❤

I was once here before getting diagnosed with celiacs. They treated me like I was just there for pain pills and then charged me $600 to tell me to take a tylenol. I definitely was being attacked by gluten.

Had a MRI performed here for a bad knee. The technician whom performed the MRI itself was not forward on instruction and on what to expect. Other than to tell me the test was 30 minutes which proved wrong when I was there nearly an hour which seemed to be forever as I didnt know what to expect. The only nice thing provided was a warm blanket and was Asked if I wanted music in my headphones. The volume was low in the earphones and was pointless cause I heard nothing but the loud noise from the MRI itself. The tech spoke in the earphones but I barely heard her. The only warning I had about the sudden vibration from the MRI was her saying it would be 4 minutes long and was actually much longer. Then again one more time her stating the MRI was only under 10 minutes longer and she went longer than that. I felt anxious and mistreated. Dont get me wrong I love northwestern for the most part but this by far was the worst experience. Technician very careless. Be sure to ask questions and that you are prepped by your tech. I wasnt walked through it as I would of liked to be. I definitely felt violated and nearly stopped the MRI if it wasnt for me having to get to the bottom of my injury in my knee.

The corporate bureaucracy of my insurance company, United Healthcare, did not pre-authorize the MRI. The staff went out of their way to accommodate me and arrange for me to have the MRI which was a pleasant experience. Great competent staff.
