Yes, well. I took off work and drive from Ohio to Chicago for a egg retrieval. I was treated poorly upon arrival... I was a donor. I was told very little about what was going on.. I was given lots of serious hormone medication to enlarge my eggs to which, the day before my egg retrieval, I had an appointment, a check up then went back to my hotel.i missed a call from nurse Tracey... and no more than 5 min later I called back.. no one answered they left a message when they called simply stating that my body isnt responding properly to the medication and to stop taking my medication immediately and go home (all the way to ohio) I had no idea what to do. It was a very scary and disheartening experience. The hormones that they gave me messed my body up to this day and I havent had a normal period since. I gained a ton of weight and no one ever called to check on me and I now am scared to go into any gynecologist office or anything because of this experience...I would definitely not recommend this clinic. I also know what its like to deal with people in general...I went to nursing school. They treated me horrid I wouldnt wish this type of experience on anyone.

Overall good experience. Some of the nurses are very nice and helpful and Dr. Elena T was also very nice and helpful. Why four stars - one of the nurses was sarcastic with me because she felt like I was asking a stupid question. Also the physician had said she would call me a couple times and she didn’t and when she finally did she didn’t even apologize for not following up like she had said she will- a physician’s practice that may have been common in years back but is no longer acceptable these days.

We had a great experience with Dr. T and her wonderful nurses at RMI. Dr. T is so thorough, so met with us and would review my numbers after every appointment and advise the nurses and us on the best course. Her nurses are absolutely the best. We would have questions come up constantly, and they were always so patient and quick to get back to us, which is wonderful when you are anxious to begin with. Their practice also feels small and more personalized. It was rare when I had to wait more than 15 minutes, and my care was very individualized to what was happening for me. I would recommend them to anyone!

My obgyn referred me to RMI to meet with Dr. Nayak after having several losses. Dr. Nayak is very detailed, compassionate and provides honest medical advice. I am currently in the IVF process and although can not say I have had success yet. I feel like I am at the right place. I bounce back and forth between Chicago and Evanston. Patient coordinator Judy is wonderful to work with! She’s very easy to talk to and incredibly responsive with any questions I may have. The Chicago ultrasound tech (I am sorry I do not know how to spell her name) is very kind and always makes me feel comfortable. To anyone going through infertility know you are not alone and it’s okay to say it sucks big time!

My husband and I ended up having a horrible experience at RMI. We initially were with Dr. Nayak and thoroughly enjoyed our experience with her. However, when she went on leave we were informed that Dr. Rinehart would oversee our IVF process and was assured that we were in good hands and he had the experience and qualifications necessary to oversee our IVF process.I was told that Dr. Rinehart would meet with us before the egg retrieval and conduct the ultrasound. I brought my husband with as I thought he would enjoy meeting him as well but the experience was not what we had in mind. When Dr. Rinehart entered the room, he barely introduced himself, didn’t shake my husband’s hand and went straight to business of conducting the ultrasound. I didn’t feel that he took the time to read up on my case because for one, he read my previous ultrasound results incorrectly and I had to correct him. He also made a comment “that would only occur if you have endometriosis which you don’t” but if he read my history correctly, he would have seen that Dr. Nayak found signs of endometriosis from previous ultrasounds. After concluding that I had three follicles in my left ovary and zero in my right ovary, I was shocked that he wanted to go forward with IVF. When I asked him if IUI would be a better option, he indicated that IVF is more successful than IUI. While that may be true, my insurance covers only 2 IVF cycles. A doctor should take into consideration ones financial situation as it is a highly risky financial decision to proceed with IVF with only 3 follicles. After consulting with a nurse from Progyny, she agreed that number was low for egg retrieval. Additionally, after meeting with another doctor at a different fertility clinic and telling him our experience, he confirmed we made the right decision to not proceed with egg extraction with only 3 follicles. In our opinion, he wasn’t concerned about the success of my IVF round – he just wanted to get it over and done with. The most upsetting thing that occurred is when I asked him if it is normal to have an ovary produce no follicles. This is when he told me “Well you’re not normal. If you were, you would be sitting in an OB/GYN office instead of a fertility clinic.”That is absolutely uncalled for and he caused his patient to go home and cry. It is already emotionally difficult enough for women going through this process. The last thing I (or any other woman) deserves is for a doctor to tell her that she is not normal. I am disgusted with his behavior and lack of bedside manner.I highly caution any couple seeking fertility services to see this doctor.

I performed an egg harvesting procedure with Dr. T. She met with me at my consultation and I never saw her again throughout the 6 week process until my surgery. She did not provide any consultation immediately after the surgery. The practice agreed to reimburse me $2500 and now has decided to not honor this request. I would not recommend using this service.

I would give zero stars if possible. I recommend NEVER walking in the doors to RMI. I met with Dr. Coulam while I was suffering from my 4th miscarriage. She said that she should do a D&C and that the tissue from the baby would give her INVALUABLE information as to why I have had so many losses. She insisted that it be done the next day and repeated how important the information was. I allowed her to perform the surgery the next day. This is where things went TERRIBLY wrong. I got a call from RMI over a week later to say that somehow my tissue sample had gotten lost on the way to the lab. She stated something about the integrity of the seal on the envelope. After my own investigation, I found out the RMI had put my pregnancy tissue in an UNSEALED Fedex envelope and dropped in in a FedEx drop box. Then they did not notify me for a week that is was lost so I had no chance to try to track it down myself. They made MANY mistakes. 1- They didnt package the sample correctly. It was not in a special shipping package required for human tissue samples. They simply put it in a office FedEx mailer. 2- They did NOT even SEAL THE ENVELOPE. 3- They dropped in in a drop box. FedEx requires this type of sample to be hand delivered to a FedEx location. 4- They did not label the package appropriately. 5- They didnt notify me until it was too late. 6- They were not honest with me about what happened until I did my own investigation. They have offered no compensation and ownership for their mistake. Please, dont ever go there. If you are looking for a reproductive immunologist, Dr. Kwak-Kim is the best.
