I am very pleased with my first visit to Lyons Family Eye Care. The Lincoln Square office is clean and modern and staff is pleasant, friendly and accommodating. Dr. Cohen is personable and thorough in his examination and it is of particular significance to me that he mentioned he would email me my prescription straight away, regardless of whether or not I chose to purchase glasses from them (I did). Very refreshing! Other offices would do well to take this no pressure approach to eye care.

They have an amazing team that knows their patients by their first names, they make picking out new glasses fun, and they work with you to make sure all of your needs are met. Ive been coming to this office for many years. They helped correct my convergence insufficiency with visual therapy, as well as fitting me with glasses to reduce eye strain in the office. The office is clean, modern, and welcoming.

We had an appointment for my 8 year old. Wonderful experience! Very professional, pleasant and personable. Very COVID safe. My son was anxious about the appointment, and everyone did a great job making him feel comfortable and at ease. I would highly recommend this office, especially for children.

I love Lyons Family Eye Care. The doctor was very thorough and really seemed to care about making sure that I was happy with my contacts. The front desk staff was super-friendly and seemed to have a lot of fun helping me pick out my glasses. Now I like both my contacts and my glasses so much, it’ll be hard to pick which ones to wear each day!

Excellent eye care by the doctor + the assistant. The doctor explained all tests + procedures thoroughly. I would have liked to have been told ahead of time that the parking lot was city owned, fee required. Also I dont believe the assistant introduced herself name or position. After the initial exams, she did say the doctor will be in shortly. Little things but did matter to me.

Dr. Cohen got me in last minute on a Friday when I had an eye injury emergency. He was so kind and explained all the treatments he recommended very clearly. Hes gone out of his way to make sure my injury is healing properly and I trust his advice and expertise completely. Everyone else I’ve encountered at the office has been super helpful and genuinely friendly. They whole environment is super positive. Can’t say enough good things about them!

Lyons Family Eye Care is a well run, family business that has been there for our family for the last 10 years. Dr. Lyons, John and their staff are fantastic at what they do, we have enjoyed going to their office for so long we have moved twice since starting and still drive to the office for our eye care needs..

Staff-- all the way from the front desk, to the eye professionals who helped me get the treatment I needed -- was exceptional. Getting my glasses prescription was very detailed, concise and fast. All staff was very friendly, proffesional & absolutely great at their jobs! Customer service was impeccable.The entire facility was remarkable at sanitation procedures that exceeded CDC guidlines. Masks were worn all throughout. This was my first visit and this is where I shall come back again if need be.

Good eye care and general experience. Though, would recommend the facility give some thought as to how to operate some of machines with masks on during covid19. Many times my daughters mask was in the way of the optical sensor on the machine and I had to help pull her mask down slightly (but was still over her mouth and nose), which was difficult within the tight confines of the equipment. In the end, we could not get scans on one of her eyes as a 5 year old looses patience on the 10th attempt to scan with mom holding down the mask. Also, we were not greeted with hand sanitizer, nor was our temperature taken, or a covid symptom questionnaire. Curious as they state all will be done on their website.

I received great care at Lyons Family Eye Care! The staff is friendly, and there is a large selection of eyewear to choose from. Dr. Frederick is professional and efficient, plus she gives personal attention. I highly recommend her!

The staff was very friendly and helpful for signing in and choosing frames. When I needed help with my Lyft after getting my eyes dilated, they let me know what my phone said and helped orient me. The doctor was great and explained everything very clearly without being condescending. I also super appreciated that the office let me take the alternative to the air puff test rather than forcing me to accept the air bullets.

We recommend Lyons, we have two girls with glasses and are very happy with the doctors and the staff.

The best or nothing, and theyre my first choice. Ive been a client since the first week LFEC opened up. I work in highly detailed, front-line engineering. My eyes are my machine. Blue screens and numbers are in my face all day and these guys have made my life a lot easier. First rate staff. I bring my mother here. Strong recommend.

This was the most thorough eye exam I have ever had. The staff is helpful and informative. I was pleased with their selection considering they are a small office. You cant beat their location either!

Lyons provides proficient, and friendly eye care. They have also stood by the quality of their frames when I have had some issues (due to user miscare!!!). Love the integrity and the service. A gem!

I got referred here for eye therapy and they did a full eye exam even though I just had one done at the referring optometrist. They said they couldnt use that other doctors exam, which I dont understand why, its my record and I can easily give it to them. Thats $220 out of pocket for no reason because obviously insurance wont cover back to back eye exams. I went in for a follow up appointment for them to do 2 minutes worth of covering / uncovering my eyes to get them to cross, confirming what I already knew. That cost $180. Now Im out $400 and they literally havent done anything yet. It costs $400 to let you know you need to spend an additional $4,000 on eye therapy. No thanks, Lyons.

Always go there for our eye exams- the most professional I have seen so far. My daughter’s lenses got scratched - exactly a year since they were done - and Lyons replaced it for $20 copay.

Congrats - if you are reading this you are but 1 final step away from getting the BEST eye care service youve ever had!With so many of optometry offices owned by the same brand providing the same meh service (Luxottica, see John Olivers piece on this), I found it refreshing to have found this family practice THRIVING.Heres what I like about them:-Clearly, everyone their loves what they do and where they work, which is infectious and creates a fun experience for me every time I visit.-Doctors care so much about their patients, and do an excellent job listening and explaining whats going on during the appointment.-Attentive & super-friendly staff, never shy about putting you in a fashionable and comfortable set of frames. Ive purchased several frames from from Lyons and with every new frame I get I get loads of compliments from both colleagues and strangers alike. Never fails!-Organization, organization, organization. The staff can definitely be more normal and nice. They are overly fake and enthusiastic which is annoying and insulting to me. I feel like when I went in for a visit I was treated like a child and not very well respected.

Very helpful staff, good selection of frames. Dr. Lyons conducts a thorough eye examination and answers all questions courteously and professionaly in understandable language.
