Village Eyecare delivers high quality and compassionate eye care to everyone. Everyone here is very courteous and respectful. Dr. Gonzalez is incredible and makes you feel valued as a patient. She took the time to go through new medications that were available for my condition and her staff is also very supportive and respectful. This place is truly a gem!!

I came here because my insurance covered the eye exam. Eye exam was fine.Asked to come back to try on new contact lenses, but never got the call. Month went by.Both times i visited with an appointment wait was 10-20 min.Only glass lens they sell are premium. Even with insurance the price they quoted me for lens alone was over $420. Pretty steep for a student budget.

Great experience. Very professional and great staff from the time you walk into the door. Dr Gonsalves is very nice and takes her time to provide you with all the info needed at your exam. Me and my family will return for our annual eye service.

Had a great experience at Village Eye Care. The exam was easy and they worked it so that the down time during the exam I was shopping for glasses. I thought that was pretty efficient. They helped me pick out some frames I liked and the price seemed about what I was expecting. My only minor complaint is that there were not as many frames to choose from as I would have liked...but, in the end I did find some frames I could purchase. Thanks

From initial call to attending actual appointments, EXCELLENT customer service. Location clean and sanitized with our temperature taken as soon as we arrived. Staff very attentive to my needs in getting eyeglass exam and my daughters with her contact lenses. We were informed step by step with the process and not rushed like previous eyecare centers. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this location and cant wait to pickup my new glasses.

INCREDIBLY SLOPPY!!! First they got my lens prescription wrong (doctor told me my prescription was x and gave me a trial pack of x and then inexplicably wrote down and ordered y) and then when that was fixed they gave me two different brands of lenses when I specifically ordered a specific kind. They were very nice during my visit but wow I’m shocked at how sloppy they were after the fact.REVISED- I was offered a complimentary 3 month supply of lenses to make up for the trouble. I appreciate this customer service after the fact.

I keep coming back for the convenient location and the friendly, professional staff: the eye doctors and assistants who examine my eye health, not just calculate a prescription; and the Riviera-set styles of glasses.

Dr Gonsalves and her team were amazing. They serviced me and my family for our eye exams. They were extremely friendly, welcoming snd professional. They provided great information about our eyes snd what was going on and didn’t rush the process. Treated us with care snd proficiency and I highly recommend them.

I wasnt told of a fee I had to pay because my insurance didnt cover it until AFTER I was ready to leave the facility. The doctor tell me there was a fee neither did she ask if I was able to pay for the procedure. That not only shocked me but it made me decide to find another provider. These are hard financial times and Im on a limited income.

Everyone was extremely nice and professional. The store is clean and stylish. A wonderful all around experience!

I have been going to this center for years beforeit was Villiage Eye Care, but recently with the turn over of staff I find it to be too much. The only reason I will continue to patronize this center is because of the one constant that is Charrise. She is one of the best techs in the office. The office it self has improved alot, but the it is the turn over rater of doctors that makes me nervous.

The appointment was easy to make, every step was anticipated and provided for. I love the “technology” the detailed information and experience was top notch and professional. I love the staff. My new bbd.

My eye glass was broken into pieces in the morning. I looked for all three eye glass shops in Hyde park but they all said there was no way to repair that. Actually all the components were intact but the design made it too hard to assemble these together. Hopelessly I entered the last one on the map and expected the same answer from them. However,after 10 minutes the practice manager Don Spengel came back with my renewed glass, and I was wild with joy seeing this. Thanks for their repairing which saved me at least 400 dollars and a huge amount of time of eye examination. I am a UChicago student and now it’s approaching mid-term, so they also somehow saved my mid term and might save a disaster of my GPA. Thanks for your high skills and nice service!!!!!!!!!

The customer service is double stand. When I was there to make glasses, they were extremely friendly and customer care was superb. However, when I went there back to collect my glasses it was a different atmosphere/ less welcoming. Definitely, I hope they can improve on this!Other than that Dr. Ashley Zimmerman was pretty good and knows well with what she was doing. Thanks, and have a blessed returning after Covid19.

Great Service! Very professional

I went to this eye doctor for my first eye exam in some time about a month ago. Im originally from out of state and wanted to find a trusted eye doctor. I needed to update my prescription for glasses and contacts and called ahead to make sure my insurance (newly covered under a parent) would cover a contact and general exam. When I went in to get my exam done I was told halfway through the visit that the contact exam wasnt covered. So I didnt proceed with the rest of the contact exam and took my prescription. I called my insurance provider and they were able to inform me that it should be covered and that they would have to order the appropriate contacts to fit me. So I was very upset that they had sent me away without the contact exam but even more upset because more than one employee implied that their lack of understanding of my coverage was because my insurance wasnt that great. I called back after getting the info from my insurance provider and went back to complete the exam because I had to finish care with them. But if I hadnt spoken up they would have denied me services that I was owed just because they didnt want to take the time to order the contacts I needed. While also implying that my insurance was less than which is highly unprofessional. I was able to order my contacts and get a prescription. However I likely wont be returning due to the language they used shaming me for a parents insurance plan. With that being my first visit I can only imagine that is how they treat their clients in general. Shaming people for attempting to take care of their health is the last way you keep clients especially if it was due to ignorance on your part. The doctor was generally pleasant and certain staff were helpful after the fact but the staff could definitely benefit from some sensitivity training.

Conveniently located office with good service. walked in and was immediately greeted by the woman working the reception desk and had a good experience with Dr. Zimmerman as well. i was able to find the perfect glasses and would recommend this location.

Great little shop. Its small, clean, and the staff were helpful and friendly. Dr. Kim was very knowledgable, was thorough with me and happily answered any questions I had. Definitely recommend and Ill be coming back here for sure.

I have gone to this office for 2 years now and I always have a smooth time. The doctor is very helpful and wont over prescribe and instead tries to have the weakest possible to prevent future eyesight problems. Additionally, the staff that works there is very helpful and friendly. I got a fashionable pair of eye glasses there and it was affordable and quick. Sometimes the wait is a bit long to get in and out of the office about 1.5 hours on average and the contacts usually take a long time to get delivered, but otherwise a great office!

I am absolutely in LOVE with this eye care facility!! From the time you walk in you are greeted warmly by the reception team, offered refreshments as you fill out your paperwork. They are prompt and pro-active as they pulled all of my insurance information the day prior to my visit. I only waited in the waiting area no less than 10 minutes and no less than 3-4 minutes after my scheduled appointment time. The optometrist Dr. Zimmerman is fun, very knowledgeable and gave me some great information and tips when wearing my contact lenses. The staff there is A1 and I am so excited that they are now my new and permanent eye care provider and source!

Very great service i was off work needed to get appointment done.. called ask did they take walk in they had me an appointment it was 11 when I called I was evening seen doing paper work at my 12 o clock appointment by 11:40. Fast nice an polite service best service I had in a while an eye doctor check my eyes several times to make sure I was good with my new contacts. Great atmosphere! Kept very neat with nice music in the background. Very professional and friendly staff! They were all very approachable with any and all questions. They even offered a cup of coffee or tea while I waited. The eye exam was quick but also very thorough. The doctor was clear and friendly. Highly recommended!

Love is the right word. Yes, I love this place!I was a Illinois Eyecare patient, but when I changed insurance, I was informed Village Eyecare was in network. The Optometrist who serviced me graduated from Illinois Eyecare, so I was very comfortable with the exam procedure. Everyone was kind and helpful.I had a bit of trouble with my insurance, but it wasnt their fault. So, I had to pay out of pocket for the glasses-the exam was covered. I think that this will be resolved with an In-Network reimbursement. I hope!

My eye examination was highly professional.And when the Dr. finished with my exam , and she told me to read a chart, I was like, wow! I had 20/20 vision again. I highly recommend this place. Also great staff, very helpful when i pick out my frame, nice location, clean , Thankyou everyone

VE is so consistent in their care and superior customer service. I have been raving about them to friends and family. Some of my friends who wear contacts will probably be making their way over soon. I’ve appreciated being able to be one of Dr. Sarai’s patients. He’s so kind and professional. I had a lot of trauma, due to my history. He has helped my fears to gradually subside. The price point for certain eyewear packages is s a plus if you are between insurance plans. I was waiting on my insurance to become active at a my new job. I ended up getting a COMPLETE pair of glasses for less than $200. Packages can vary based on prescription and brand of frame, but if you don’t have vision benefits available for glasses, VE has some packages that START AT $175 (conservatively).

The front desk receptionist Sheree she is awesome. My frames were totaled from trying to repair on my own. They were very kind. Advised of my warranty and they gave me completely new frames.I love this place. They always make sure to go out of their way! :)

An off putting experience......As I was getting checked in an older man (The manager) cut in my conversation with an employee to inquire about my insurance. He did not address me or even greet me when I arrived but very rudely cut in to speak to the employee about my insurance with me sitting right there. I expressed my frustration of his rude demeanor to another employee. After I saw the doctor I was oddly put with the rude manager to choose a pair of glasses. I explained that I was looking for something a bit more modest but it seemed that he just wanted to get as much money as possible. You’ll know you’re a good salesman when the customer walks away happy. The things that make us happy are feeling as though we got a good deal or at the very least had a pleasant experience with staff. It’s not always about getting the most money. Be kind to all employees no matter the color. Never cut in conversations you’re not apart of and don’t discuss insurance coverage unless directly addressing the customer you’re helping.

I visited Village Eyecare for the first time. The optometrist I saw, Dr. Heeyoon Kim, was knowledgable and professional. I felt like I could trust her and that she wasnt just trying to sell me products, but actually had my best interest in mind.I felt more neutral on the shop itself, but ended up ordering my glasses. Havent received yet, but they were willing to order a few frames for me so I can try them and choose my favorite. I was grateful for their flexibility!

Ive been to the South Loop and Hyde Park locations; I prefer the Hyde Park location more. The staff are very welcoming and appointment times are promptly honored with minimal waiting. The doctors are very informative and explain everything in detail. I ordered daily contacts at the Hyde Park location and they gave me a couple pairs to take me through the weekend until my order arrives. Ill be back in six months.

The staff was kind and helpful, and they were direct about costs after insurance when I asked! The eye exam itself was inexpensive with my insurance, but do keep in mind that many of the frames they sell are designer if you would like to get glasses there.

Friendly and kind staff. I was there on a busy evening and they worked through their appointments efficiently - I was out the door in an hour. I saw Dr Zimmerman who was lovely and provided great advice. They have a wide selection of frames and I was pleased to learn that they price-match 1800 Contacts for lenses.

I met with Blair and Dr. Zimmerman. Both were patient as well as kind. Dr. Zimmerman was very knowledgeable. Because I have no insurance test are being done in phases. They seem pricey but worth it.

One of the best eye care clinics I have ever been to. They are really efficient, and give you a ton of information to make the best decisions. I learned from them that my contacts should have been free all these years because they are a medical necessity! I will definitely be going back.

I needed my yearly vision exam and I had walked past Village EyeCare a number of times. So, I decided to try it out.It was great because you could schedule an appointment online and submit your insurance information to insure acceptance. They were ready for me when I arrived and all the technology is up to date.When it was time to pick out new frames, the attendant walked around with me helping me to find the right frames for me. It was really great service.I would definitely tell anyone I know that needs a vision appointment to go there.

Dr. Stoev is excellent at optimizing the fit of gas-permeable contacts. Get contacts with a return policy and shell make adjustment after adjustment until the fit is perfect. My contacts are sharper and more comfortable than than any fit Ive had in the past 10 years.

What a pleasant surprise in Hyde Park! I have visited many different eye care centers in the Hyde Park area over the past 10 years and I can not say enough positive things about my experience here. My appointment was on time, everything was explained to me including benefit and costs of additional tests. The Dr. spent a significant amount of time with me discussing my eye issues, performing exams and analyzing my results.

I absolutely recommend this place - doctor Sarai is thorough, clear, and informative. He explains everything clearly and provides options, always allowing the patient to make informed decisions. The staff that helps with frames selection is also great - they listen to your preferences and make great recommendations without pressure. I am so happy to have such an awesome optometrist in Hyde Park!

I had a pleasant experience during my return eye examination. The eye examination was quick and painless, and upon leaving the examination room, one of the technicians set out a few glasses that were my style for me to try. I really appreciated her friendly and hands-on approach!

The process overall seemed very well organized. I had an unexpected vision change this year - not only was she very thorough with the eye exam, but she ran extra tests to make sure my eyes were still healthy. If youre interested, Dr. Stoev is happy to explain the biology behind the different tests and procedure they use, which I appreciate.

They all are so nice and helpful to all my needs the most kindest and helpful group of indivisuals myself has ever met. They even are getting my glasses for me quickly that was awesome. Linda was the best too at helping me pick out my frames .

Ive gone twice now over two years. My eye doctor seems very knowledgeable and friendly. I wish there were some more affordable options for glasses up front, I felt sort of pressured to go ahead and buy something there (which was kind of out of my price range), when I knew I could get a pair of glasses much cheaper online.

I had a last minute issue with my eyes and they fit me in right away and I wasnt even a patient! I was from out of town and they accommodated me so quickly. I might fly out to Chicago just to get my eyes examined here for now on!
