I went to this hospital last night after calling/visiting two other hospitals and being turned away or facing a multiple hour wait to even have my cat triaged to determine how critical his case was. The hospital quickly checked to make sure he was not in a critical state before a few hours wait for a full exam. My cat is definitely a complicated case as he has been to the vet 4 other times in the past month. The vet listened carefully, asked great follow-up questions to help me remember his full medical history, and took the time to validate the difficulty of the situation, ultimately doing supportive care and setting me up with an appointment with a specialist. The only downside of this hospital compared to another I’ve been to is that you are not able to stay with your pet the whole time, though this was easily overshadowed by the great care they provided and clear communication.

Yesterday night, I brought my 7 month old puppy into this location due to him ingesting something he should not have. I waited for about an hour and a half, and after some time, I was on the phone with the doctor, who proceeded to tell me the simple treatments she was going to perform in order to better my pet. Once this was finished, I brought my dog home to get him cleaned up since this place failed to properly clean him up after he had an accident there. Upon cleaning him up, I noticed that his testicles were incredibly inflamed, had a terrible rash on them, and were bleeding slightly. I immediately called the vet back to get some answers being as though the treatment they performed had absolutely nothing to do with his parts. The nurse on the phone was very dismissive and repeatedly said she did not know what to tell me. Sounds like she definitely needs to go back to school for that. Secondly, the doctor as well assured me this was not caused by them. She insisted I send an email so she can better assist me. In the email, she completely down played my complaints, putting things such as- to me they are not “significantly bruised” almost making me feel as if they were not taking me serious. Completely unprofessional. I understand that when a pet needs to be seen right away, you may take them to the most convenient location possible, but please do NOT take your animal here. It is day two and my puppies rash has gotten bigger and more inflamed than ever. I have absolutely no answers and am still waiting to here what my regular vet has to say about this. This location clearly does a great job at responding to both good and bad comments, so let’s make sure that when you guys see this (premier) instead of an “apology” leave me corporates information. I will absolutely be contacting my lawyer.

We brought our sick dog Penny here. She had became incredibly ill on labor day. The team worked incredibly hard and provided top level service. The communication was excellent, with two calls a day at the minimum and all of my calls responded to within 30 minutes. While my dog did not survive because she had a fatal case of Lyme nephritis, I believe she got the best care possible. Dr. Suor and Dr. Simpson showed that they clearly cared a lot about my dog. While I hope I never have to come back, I would trust any of my pets here.

Already turned off by this place. I called because my dog is sick, possibly dying, my vet is full and gave me recommendations. Upon calling and explaining to the receptionist why Im calling, mid way, she cut me off and started talking about the services they provide, appointments and repeatedly mentioned how theyre pricey. The entire conversation was rushed and she seemed quick tempered. Im trying to go over options for my dog as its difficult to make arrangements for things, I couldnt get a word in edgewise as Im trying to say what Im looking for, she just kept pushing her words out and reminding me theyre pricey.Needless to say, Ill be contacting the other ER recommended to me. If people dont want to deal with the public, stop working customer service. Im trying to be calm myself dealing with possibly loosing my pet. In this regard, the staff there should be trying to make people feel at ease.

At least my dog is in a better shape to now visit his primary vet, and hes been invited back to Premier just in case his primary physician is booked.

They ran all of the necessary tests and still kept us for 2 plus hours for discharge. After waiting 14 plus hours to even get in. And then 3 hours to hear anything. They just want to take your money and waste your time. Not to mention they pushed our original appointment 4 hours. Some people have to work. Not much of an emergency vet if you cant get emergency care.

What type of hospital is this??? I came here because my regular vet wouldnt be able to take me for another day and my dogs condition got worse throughout the day. It isnt anything life threatening in the moment but she needed to be looked before things really started to get serious. I get there and the lady comes out and listens to her heart. She then tells me shes in stable condition so well text you when to come back in approximately 6-7 hours. 6-7 HOURS??!? A hospital is supposed to take you in right away. When I got home after about a 30-40 minute drive I checked my text messages. First they said my approximate appointment would be at 10:30pm then they said my appointment would be at 2am. TWO IN THE MORNING!! WHAT KIND OF SERVICE IS THIS?? If my dog had something even more serious would they still have said I need to wait that long? The whole point of an emergency hospital is they look at the patient whether its very severe or not when your own vet cant see you. I would not recommend this place at all. If they obviously dont care about your pet why should I pay double or triple the amount for EMERGENCY service that is 10 hours later?? I rather wait for the appointment by my regular vet just a little bit longer after the 10 hour wait -_- If I could give them 0 stars I would. So ridiculous! They all want your money but dont care one bit if your dog gets even more sick/severe. Come back when theyll ready to help your dog not when your dog actually needs their help. -_-

My 13 week old kitten was losing weight and had diarrhea and no appetite, he did not have a primary vet yet so I had to take him to premier. Both times I used the wait in line feature on my phone which gives you an appointment for that day if it’s not an critical emergency. The kitten was admitted for 3 days and unfortunately did not make it.The staff took amazing care of him those last three days, they called me with all updates and I could call whenever to check on him. They did not rush to do invasive unnecessary diagnostic tests which would have been useless. They called and went over any treatment and prices, yes it is expensive however it is an emergency clinic just like the ER is more expensive then going to your primary doctor. Thanks to the staff that took care of my little guy for giving him his best chance!

For the last year and a half, our pup has been a patient of Dr. Simpson’s and her nurse, Clare. There is nothing we can write to adequately do justice to how wonderful these two are as, both, professionals and human beings.Fiona’s condition was complex and required what seemed like constant reevaluation. Dr. Simpson was extremely thorough in everything she did, taking the time to make sure we understood what was going on, answering any questions and discussing our own thoughts.Fiona bonded with Clare. While we couldn’t be there to see it first hand, I’m fairly certain they were inseparable while Fi was there and Clare ensured she was treated like an absolute princess. They loved our girl as much as we did and did everything they possibly could to help her. The impression they made on us will last a lifetime. The world needs more Dr. Simpsons and more Clares They’re two of the most selfless, caring and loving professionals we’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. They became part of our family during a tough time and we couldn’t be more happy to have found them.

While he unfortunately didnt make it we wanted to make sure that we commended the staff for their professionalism, care and sympathy while working on our buddy. They made us feel as comfortable as possible every step of the way. Even though we had to wait in the car due to Covid, they gave us frequent updates and allowed us in to see him two separate times. In our buddys last moments, Dr. Venhuizen and the nurses were very compassionate and made sure both we and Biscuit were tended to. Definitely recommend in the case of emergency and appreciate everything they did for us.

I am so glad I took my cat here, they are very kind, professional and compassionate. I went to another vet ER place in the past and they were terrible, cold, and money hungry. But with Premier Vet Group the experience was 100% different. They took care of my baby with kindness and everyone was very nice. The doctor was very patient and caring. I had to make a though decision to put my kitty down but I’m glad it was with them than with another ER clinic that wouldn’t have taken the care and compassion they did with my Artemis. I recommend everyone to go here instead of MedVet. Here you will not get ripped off just so they can make money out of your fur baby’s suffering. You will get an honest diagnosis to be able to make the right decision on how to move forward with treatment. This place does care about the fur babies and are not greedy. The nurses and doctors and receptionists are all amazing. Thank you to all of you for making my visit and the hard decision I had to make more bearable and the kind way you treated me meant a lot to me. I also saw how caring and kindly you treated my baby and I want to thank you all so much for that as well.

Highly recommend. Been here 4 times throughout the years with my cat as its open 24hr and is the only place that will take your pet right away. YES its expensive, always have an emergency fund of at least $500-$1000+ for your pet, the visit alone is around $150. My cat has a recurring constipation issue and I thought for sure he was a goner this time as I tried everything at home to help him, he was barely moving after a certain point so I rushed him here around 3pm. Even though this place was packed, they immediately checked my cat to see if he was stable. Since he was stable, I was told to come back at 2am as they were completely at capacity (parking lot was full). I was signed up to their text service (where you virtually wait in line), my appointment was bumped up to 11pm. I drove up and my cat was taken in to be observed, I was finally tended to at around 3 am.Yes it was a loooong wait. Something to consider, if your pet isnt immediately dying, you will be waiting around. I didnt get home until 4am. This is not the vets fault. Similar to a real hospital, more critical patients will be taken care of right away. Adding COVID into mix which has increased their patient load while shortening staff, be prepared to wait ridiculous times. It is what it is and hopefully this can be improved in the future.Due to COVID I waited in the car the whole time, which I dont consider a massive negative. I made sure to bring a book and I purchased food nearby while I waited (lots of restaurants to walk to). Once the vet assessed my cat I was called and every single thing was outlined for me before any type of procedure or treatment was performed. I have never felt being taken advantage of by this place, the vet tried their hardest to only include procedures I could afford and that were absolutely necessary. They made suggestions and explained everything thoroughly and clearly. The staff was extremely kind and pleasant, they answered any questions I had. Whenever I call this place with an emergency, the phone is immediately picked up and my concerns are heard. My senior cat is still alive today and I would attribute it to the hardworking and pleasant staff here. Im grateful for all that they do.

I called to schedule a Neurology appointment with Dr Fuller. The receptionist who picked up the phone was very friendly and asked if I could hold, which of course I could. It was not the same person who picked up the call. The woman was loud and screechy, I had to pull my ear away from the phone, She searched for Neurologys earliest appointment which she said was the end of July, I then asked if I should email over my records and she abruptly said it wasnt necessary if I didnt make the appointment. I felt rushed and scolded, I was going to schedule, my mind was just all over the place. As she took my information she was short with me and seemed like I was bothering her. I was referred here by my regular vet who stated this hospital was elite and had high standards. I asked her if I could speak to the manager, and she stated she was the manager and her name was Jean. I was completely awestruck when I realized this Premier hospital has that woman as a customer service manager. Someone really needs to give her a reality check. After I hung up and thought about it, I called back to cancel my appointment, I will be going elsewhere because of your manager.

Very professional and I am very thankful that we were able to get to them in order to stabilize the situation, but would have needed $2700 cash equivalency with me up front to care for my animal or find out what might be wrong with him... which is difficult on $600 per week... the only real option being to apply for a line of credit with Wells Fargo (famously not blue collar friendly)... the visit was an affordable $425... but tests or further care became $3000 or nothing... so they wrapped him in a plastic dog pad and returned him to the parking lot (they did include some helpful medications and info to treat his primary symptoms, being nausea, diarrhea, and weakness but no idea regarding causes). So again, very thankful for the assistance provided but am no wiser as to his condition (or thus, how to help him)... and am negotiating with work for time off to visit our rural vet in our old hometown. BTW... 8 hours later, at home, the patient is still very weak but has vacated once and is again drinking water on his own... so stabilization was fantastic and we will explore diagnosis and treatment with his vet.So yes... high marks on availability... but not a great option for working families or those who might need to consider partial treatments such as moving forward with blood tests before committing to full treatment, for instance.Note: Any criticism is not really their fault as much as demonstrating the need for urban markets to develop a wider range of affordable services for those of us who cook, clean, serve, barkeep, mow lawns,, paint,, babysit, teach, and even dogwalk for our wealthier neighbors. 💁‍♂️

We are in phase 5, stop torturing owners and their dogs in hot parking lots. Let us in! we can wear a mask if you’re so worried. When a dog has a MAJOR surgery the worst place to be is in a baking parking lot. If we can now enter a hospital for humans I think it’s time to let us enter an animal hospital. And I recommend when pets AKA our children are released from a major surgery you need to work out a time so that the owners can be met by a doctor to discuss “hands on” how to handle and assist them after a major surgery. Doing a post op over the phone doesn’t explain how to properly handle them for bathroom breaks during the multi week recovery. You need to make exceptions for major surgery patients. I am absolutely shocked that you did not tell us how important it was to express their bladder, thank God there’s YouTube to help. UPDATE….If you have team members that are not vaccinated they can wear a mask and we can wear a mask, we can also keep 6 feet distance from them. Any other reason for not letting us in (critical care patients) is animal cruelty!!!!! As a professional healthcare provider all of your staff should be vaccinate, currently all urban US citizens are within five minutes of a vaccination site. When will your “non-Vaccinated” staff decide to interact with the world since Covid will never be fully eradicated.

I was appalled that Ethos would go as far as to cover it up and make excuses because they are busier than usual. That is unreal.  All the other staff at the Chicago facility are wonderful, and they are under the same stress as Jean.  I dont know if I have the worst luck ever, but anytime I call to ask a question, I get her.   Ethos please step up and reprimand your Customer Service Manager! and not make excuses. I talked to a few intake personal and, with the exception of one, everyone was informative, compassionate, straight forward, understanding. The night doctor on duty was pretty amazing in my opinion. And unlike other reviews I do not believe they were trying to squeeze every penny out of me in my time of stress and immediate need. Yes, authorization for service was required and upfront. Yes medical costs add up in every case. But I was also given multiple options for treatment and a breakdown, in my particular case. I am happy they are close to home, though I hope to never have to use their service again.

Horrible vet. I cant even begin to describe how infuriated I am with this vet. My dog, Nacho, came in with me yesterday Monday June 28th and died today Tuesday June 29th. You want to know why? Because this vet chooses payments over the health and wellness of your loved companions. I brought him yesterday and left yesterday with the cheapest option I could ($330 for outpatient care) because I did not have $2,008 - $2,308 to keep him in the hospital for at least 24hrs and give him the proper treatment. They would not hospitalize him, do diagnostics, nor treat him until their payments were recieved. And yes they did offer their useless credit line but that option is only if I did get approved. They knew he was severe but wouldnt do a single thing without their money, I mean what are we gonna do - not pay them for their services? If only *I*, a regular part time worker, could have actually had $2,008 - $2,308 ON HAND in order for them to save my little man. Had they given me reassurance, had they actually cared about our pets and tried to work with us to be able to pay off the money over time or even after or anything else other than paying thousands UP FRONT, then my little man would still be alive today. Sure they kept recommending hospitalization, sure they kept recommending diagnostics and all else, but not once did they lift a finger before their pay. Horrible vet. They kept recommending everything because I was desperate however when I said Id take him elsewhere and pay elsewhere for his care, they became persistent with outpatient care even after saying it was supposedly not the best option compared to hospitalization. Take your loved companions elsewhere please. Dont let them die either.

Either they did not fully examine my pet and simply prescribed antibiotics and sent him home, as well as charged me for things I did not take home with me, like a cone they tried to sell me. Or they have a dirty facility and hold sick animals with healthy pets. I took my pup in there for a simple paw examination because he had a slight rash, but my pup came home from them with Kennel Cough. I cannot confirm the cleanliness or separate holding pens they state they have for sick and healthy animals, but I know my dog wasn’t coughing before our visit. A Nurse said he’s over reacting because he’s “stoned” from the pain meds. Apparently no one at Premiere read the X-rays. My dog had a spine injury and would never walk. I made the difficult decision to put him out of his pain, which is what Premiere should have done instead of telling me to go back to my local vet. My baby suffered in pain for two days. They are all about the money wanted an additional $1500 to keep him overnight. All they would do is drug him and lay him in a cage. He couldn’t breathe in that position he had to be upright. I held him all night until I could get back to my vet. Called back several times only got nurses. Doctor had gone home. Glad you can sleep easy me and my baby didn’t.

Came here because my 6month old doberman was constantly throwing up, not eating and not acting himself. Before being seen, I informed the vet here that I took my pup to his primary vet who conducted a full examination; X-rays and blood work (which I proved copies of). I further related that our primary vet did not see an obstruction , however my suspicion was that they were wrong. The vet here conducted the same X-rays and blood work and confirmed my suspicion... there was a clear obstruction in his small intestine and he would need immediate surgery. Unfortunately, the vet of this “emergency hospital” failed to inform me at the very start when I expressed my concerns of an obstruction; that they did not have an on-site surgeon at this time. Their surgeon would not arrival until the late evening of the following day. How this place his considered an “emergency hospital” but yet lack the resources to staff a full time surgeon is beyond my comprehension. The vet here went on to tell me that I would need to pick up my pup and self transport him to MedVet. This place basically charged me $700 to confirm my suspicion and refer me to a REAL emergency hospital with the resources to help my pup. I would highly recommend not risking your pets life by bringing them here and just go to MedVet where you know they have the resources available. During left threatening situations like my pups, you shouldn’t have to waste time by transporting your pet to one emergency hospital to another. This place was a joke.

That was one of the worse days in my life I’ve got a phone call that Lala has cancer in few areas in her belly including liver etc . I was devastated .. the dr was very kind and explained to me the whole process and options unfortunately she said that there’s no cure for this type of cancer and we can keep alive maybe for few more weeks giving her steroids but she will be in pain and she’s suffering now .. I had to say good bye to her and the whole process it was very emotional and dramatic because of this dr and staff I felt more comfortable and peaceful . I can’t even describe the quality of this clinic because I’m still receiving condolences from them and they treated my baby Lala like a human and they felt my pain and they were very supportive . My dog became a ping pong ball where VCA animal hospital recommended me to Premier, Premier Veterinary Group recommended to animal poison control, and animal poison control recommended to send her to the veterinarian. Seriously? My dog is poisoned with garlic, and studies says that symptoms may take days to appear. How can emergency care (Premier Veterinarian Group) recommend me to call to animal poison if the hotline can not examine my dog? Doctors have to study 4 years to know properly how to clear the animal’s body before is too late, not the hotline as they recommended. When I called to the hotline the lady on the phone didn’t even know what to tell me, she asked for a moment to find out in a book, and at the end told me to just send my dog to a clinic. Yet they were more than happy to have me in the front on their phone with care credit to beg for a credit increase, ironic how that works that covid is a paramount terror to the staff EXCEPT when it comes to taking my money, then suddenly its momentarily less dire ay? Simply inexcusable and unacceptable and therefore i will NOT be returning whether emergent or not, will utilize emergency veterinary services elsewhere if need be in the future.Response: vaccination is open to everyone as of around two weeks ago. They provided timelines that were accurate and impressively swift. They told me when they would call with updates, and they did, every time. I never felt at a loss, or not knowing what was going on or when Id hear from them. My pup was in their care for 2 nights and they took extremely good care of him. When they needed a second look at X-rays to see if there was internal bleeding/organ damage they sent it them to the radiologist and quickly had an answer. My dog was severely hurt with broken ribs, one of which completely crushed, wounds and terrible damage to his tissues and muscles. The bill at the end was so extremely reasonable, I was shocked. Also, I called twice with follow up questions during his recovery and they made sure to connect me to a nurse or doctor and took the time to walk me through everything, which I am so incredibly grateful for. Upon arrival, it took awfully long to have a vet tech come out and when she did we were essentially gaslit for being there and turned away since the active bleeding had stopped, even though my dog and I were both covered in blood. After finding another emergency vet who saw the severity of the situation and prioritized my dog, i learned that dogs ears have TONS of blood vessels and tend to bleed more than other body parts therefore need to be treated ASAP. Very disappointed that Premier didnt treat my dog with the urgency we got elsewhere given this is a known problem area for vets. I understand being very busy and appreciate all vets who are willing to stay open for 24 hours emergencies, but it would have been helpful to either have been told that over the phone before going instead of waiting nearly two hours and without receiving any veterinary care or even advice

We had to bring in my cat Red for complications with diabetes. I couldn’t ask for better service from this emergency clinic. From constantly being kept in the loop about how my boy was doing to the Vet doing everything he possibly could while also keeping the cost as low as possible. While I hope I don’t have emergencies like this in the future I would absolutely return here again for help. Red is doing much better now after a couple day stay at a lower cost clinic that Premier helped me find. It was expensive but for the level of care the animals receive and the bedside manner of everyone in the office it is easily worth it.

My dog got into sugar free gum which has xylitol in it. Xylitol is extremely toxic to dogs. So bad, a couple pieces can be deadly.Premier vet was here for us and our dog survived!! It took a stay in the hospital but I am forever grateful for their care. Everyone from the doctors to the staff were patient, calm and kind. Was it expensive and were there wait times, yes, but that is to be expected. Humans at the ER deal with the same thing if not worse so I think people need to be mindful that without pet insurance (which I dont have) if youre expecting a trip to an emergency vet to be affordable youre going to have a bad time. Still I know they are not all about making money off people because:-They went over a third party provider I could apply for financing through.-They suggested I get some liver supplements from whole foods rather than pay their prices because it was cheaper which we did.-I googled what the average cost to treat xylitol poisoning was and they were well within the average range.-Had to go back for liver enzymes checks and called aroubd for pricing from other vets in the area and premier vet way cheaper by like at least 100 bucks. These people are not trying to make money off your misfortune, they try to work with you and have competitive rates.Vets do not have easy jobs especially at animals hospitals. They have to go and pay for a lot of schooling and then have to deal with a lot of sad situations. They would not be doing it if they didnt love the animals they are caring for so gove thme some compassion!!!! Have a little gratitude!!Thanks Premier vet!

Took my 7-month old puppy there because his ear was bite by another dog. The bandage they put on came off next day and we had to go back to get his bandage re-warpped. Guess what, this bandage too came off the minute we got home from there (which was 20 minutes in car ride after they put it on). More importantly, after coming home from this emergency, his leg, the one where they drew blood work (which is totally unnecessary) started limbing worse and worse. They refused to take any responsibility and said it’s very very small chances that it was their fault. We had been limit his activities since the emergency and now have to seek elsewhere for his limbing treatment. After paying almost 1200, we are not expecting an issue like this to happen.

I recently brought my cat to this vet for one of those classic midnight emergencies. Everyone I spoke to at this clinic was extremely polite and professional. All estimates from wait times to cost, was fair and accurate. Excellent care. Faster than other ER vets.Had to take my senior kitty here a couple of times this week. Staff was caring, thoughtful and knowledgeable. They answered all of my questions, explained the estimate in detail and took excellent care of my old gal. The first time I was here I had to wait for awhile but that’s because my kitty wasn’t in dire shape and I agree that more urgent cases should be seen first. Other times I’ve been here she was seen very fast compared to other ER vets I’ve been to. Although the costs are expensive because it’s an ER vet, they are comparable to what I’ve paid at other ER vets. I would come back here in a heart beat. I took my 7 week old puppy around 9pm because she stopped eating, and looked lethargic. Due to Covid-19 you can’t accompany your pet in. I was told she was not doing great but her blood sugar was back up and her temperature had risen as well after paying $321 of the upfront $500 deposit required for them to even see your pet. I asked if she was going to be okay and explained in detail that I don’t have a lot of money due to the pandemic and I was told she could be back the next day for the same thing and they’re worried but it would be over $1500-2000 to keep her oVet night and give her sugar and fluids. They gave her a prescription and told me she had been moving around and to bring her back if she got sick again. They brought her out with discharge papers, and I made it home maybe 5 min later. She died in my arms within 10 minutes of being home. The paperwork I received all said she was going to die at home, a detail that they forgot to mention to me on all the calls and before I paid my last $321. How do you not tell me she isn’t going to make it. Take my money ask me to apply for two different credit cards just to pay you more money for her to die in front of my kids 15 after you handed to her to me. The puppy they handed me was already dying if not dead and there was no way in heck she was moving anything she couldn’t even open her eyes. Do not go here they are all about getting as much money as they can from people and that’s it. Worst experience ever. Never got a call back after I left because they knew they covered their butts by putting she was going to die at home in the paperwork 3x but not once saying that to me in the 11 phone conversations we had while I sat outside waiting for my puppy for 4 hours. These people DO NOT CARE ABOUT ANY PET OR PERSON JUST FINANCIAL GAIN.

He needed extended hospitalization, and they even sent me pictures of him for updates!! (Wasnt able to visit him with COVID-related restrictions.) I know going to an ER for your pet is always a gamble, but I was so pleasantly surprised by my experience! I am truly so appreciative of the people who work at Premier. I came in because one of my cats started vomiting non-stop in the morning & was wailing in pain like I’ve never experienced. When I got there I told this to one of the folks at the front desk & within a minute someone came out to take my dude in to get him checked out. Thankfully it ended up being painful constipation (naturally), but what I really appreciated was the thoroughness of the doctor tending to my cat in terms of spelling our current issues, potential root causes by the book, but what I really should, or shouldn’t, be worried about. They were super transparent about cost & broke it down into each treatment or diagnostic test. I just really had such a positive experience (and as a super silver lining discovered a cute local cafe right around the block, Cafe Fenix, but I digress). I have two bro cats who are both FIV+ & the way they treated my guy meant so much & at the end of the day it also didn’t cost an arm & a leg considering (just an arm as it’s standard in the industry). 100% recommend Premier if your loved one is unfortunately in need.

It took another 30 mins for the so called veterinary lady to see us. we were told by her that our dog had a respiratory infection, and she needed to take x rays of dogs chest. after another 30 minutes she came back to the waiting room with an estimate over $4800.00. $350.00 for x rays , and $260.00 for an EXPERT to read the x rays plus other charges like $300.00 for other procedures without them telling you what are the so called other procedures. After over 3 hrs. without any medication and Oxygen offered to my loved one, my dog had a seizure and past away. I brought my cat here late at night after he threw up multiple times. It’s an ER, so be prepared for long wait times.Tl;dr: they got the job done, we were treated with courtesy, and I believe my pet received the right treatment. Details:They saw him after an hour or so of waiting, recommended bloodwork and imaging and gave me prices so I could choose what to do. After the first X-ray was inconclusive; they sent us home after hydrating him and we came back the next morning for a follow up X-ray since my cat wasn’t improving. There was an even longer wait since their computers were down and they wanted a radiologist to read the x-rays (they were concerned about a foreign body). I was given a worst (potential surgery) and best case scenario (recovery while observing at home), and the price ranges for each of them. In the end, my cat did not need any invasive procedures and got better on his own. A lot of people commented that they are money-oriented, but I think it makes perfect sense for them to tell you all the financial options for any possible outcome (there is a lot of difference between $600 and $6000), and it also makes sense for them to be prepared for the worst possible outcome for the pet, even if it’s unlikely. I wasn’t happy about waiting so long, but they kept me informed, told me all my options, and in the end did the right thing for the well-being of my cat. All the records and procedures were transferred to my regular vet after I left in case follow up was necessary. They also offered me snacks and water when I said I hadn’t eaten anything all day. I have no idea how they operate if your pet is a regular patient here, but as an ER, I found their services satisfying. Would recommend.

Not to mention, Yelp uses initials. I have named no doctors or staff in my reviews, but if my info is not removed I will. Onto my review: This is not a compassionate place filled with animal lovers. Very profit driven. Good luck getting through to corporate if something happens to you. I would give this place zero stars if I could. First, they are driven by profit NOT a love of animals. Even when you give them thousands, they still will not care if your pet lives or dies. If you write an honest review, they will send you cease and desist letters and get their out of state SEO person Cindy to harass and defame you online. These people are heartless. Instead of listening to clients and changing their ways, they will harass you and try to blackmail you into removing reviews. Please whatever you do, don’t bring your beloved pet here. While your pet is still healthy, ask around for which hospital is the best in case an emergency should happen in the future. Take the bad reviews seriously. These workers here who are 99 percent Anglo Saxon whites from out of state kept mispronouncing my name. I corrected them and said it’s a shame they can’t pronounce ethnic names because it’s mostly suburban or transplant whites working there. Then they lie and say I said something derogatory. I’m white myself, but I’m European not an Anglo Saxon with a simple name. Therefore, I don’t get how saying it’s all yuppie whites is derogatory. But again, they want to intimidate me into erasing my review. Even if this company disagreed with my assessment of what happened, they should have never talked down to me how they did and sent my mother and I who are grieving terribly cease and desist letters. These people care only about the image of their company NOT ensuring customer satisfaction. If they continue to say my full name online or mention my mother’s name or my beloved baby, I will seek out legal action against them. They DID nothing to reach an amicable resolution aside from talking to me like I’m ignorant. I graduated law school with high honors. I’m not a dumb person. Both their medical director and their office manager were beyond heartless in how they spoke to my mother and I. Unless you want to live with pain and regret he rest of your life, please don’t bring your best friend here. I’m also a citizen of the EU and protected by the right to be forgotten law, so it’s in their interest to stop mentioning my surname online or any identifiable information when they respond to my reviews.

She ended up passing away early the following morning, less than 20 hours after her first symptoms appeared. My first experience with Premier was taking her body in. They were compassionate, helpful, and empathetic... Let us have all the time we needed with her and explained all of the options they offered for cremation as that was the route we wanted to go.Fast forward 2 months later, my other dog began to exhibit the same symptoms that our other dog had. Given the prior circumstances, I immediately took him in to Premier because I did not want to take any chances. It was about 6 am, and we were helped quickly. Dr. Venhuizen was wonderful. Good vibes, listened, was understanding and empathetic, explained everything in detail and made sure that we understood everything that he was explaining. EXACTLY what I want in a doctor. Clare S. took my dog in the back for blood work and x-rays. Clare, you are an angel. My dog has always put up a little bit of a fight when he goes to the vet because he gets a bit anxious. Hes also 80+ lbs and a strong boy, so that doesnt make anything any easier. He hates getting on the scale and hes not a fan of other tests, so I wasnt surprised when Clare relayed that to me. His anxiousness is enough to make someone lose their patience after some time. Clare never did. She was so sweet from beginning to end. I ended up keeping my dog overnight to ensure that he had the proper care and was receiving fluids. I also want to acknowledge who I believe her name is Erika at the front desk because every single time I called, and both times that I came in (to drop him off & pick him up), she was nothing but sweet and professional as well. While my dog was staying there overnight, I called a few times for updates and every single time I did, I was happily greeted on the other end and I never felt like I was being annoying for calling or for wanting an update multiple times a day. I got play-by-plays by the hour of his progress. I wish I knew the name of the nurse who discharged him and gave me all of the at-home instructions (if you are able to look that up please do and give her the recognition she deserves), because she too, was wonderful: very detailed, empathetic, explained all instructions, listened to me vent, etc. My boy has been home going on 2 days now and he is already looking and feeling so much better. Lastly, I want to acknowledge that the summary of the chart notes and the visit was unlike anything Ive ever seen before in my previous experience of taking my animals to the vet. There are DETAILED descriptions of EVERY conversation I had, including my initial reason for coming in, updates for each time they checked in with me to confirm the next tests and that I had consented to them, etc. WOW!Going through what potentially I thought could have been another traumatic loss for our family again was something that I was not ready to do ... every single member of the staff at this location that I mentioned above helped to put my own nerves at ease during this time. Please recognize these individuals for their compassion, empathy, kindness, patience, excellent skill for their practice, and their obvious love of their jobs. THANK YOU.

If I could give this place a 0 I would gladly do so. I brought in my tiny chuiwawa at 11pm who went into labor at 6:20pm that evening. The puppies feet where out but she couldnt push the rest of the body. The doctor took her back and examined her without us being present. Vet tech brought her back and they were gone for 2 hours and a half. I only saw one person in the lobby. When I inquired several times about wanting help for my distressed dog who was throwing up and trying to push out the puppy who has died inside of her by then they kept on telling me that the doctor was busy with other patients. After 2 hours and a half I made a very firm statement to the staff that I thought this was an emergency room and I was told to bring my dog here for an emergency which I clearly was having and that the puppy inside my dog was clearly dead and no longer moving with feet sticking out of her body and that I will watch my dog die right in front of my eyes if somebody doesnt help her now. Finally the doctor came in and attended us. She gave me outrageous amounts that I will have to pay. I tried explaining that I am a stay at home mom and my income is very limited. She took an x ray and told me and my daughter that she will not charge us for it which at the end I was charged $125 for only 1 picture which was not even sent to a radiologist per our agreement. When I later questioned the charge she told me she has to charge it that she never told me she would not charged and that I signed a document for that charge and there was nothing she could do and that she was sorry for the misunderstanding. They wanted to charge me $5000 to preform a surgery on my dog to safe her life. I explained I dont have that kind of money. After giving her iv 1 x ray and some pain meds and manually trying to extract the dead puppy from her I was charged almost $600 and told that they already saved me a lot of money. The puppy at this point was half way out with his guts coming out my dog waswrapped in a towel and returned to me. I been there since 11pm until almost 7am the next day. Exhausted I drove back and ran to our vet that opens at 8am. They performed an emergency surgery pushed all their other surgeries back to take care of my dog first and charged me $1500 instead of $5000. I understand this is an emergency clinic and doctors been in school for a very long time and worked hard on their degree and should be paid for their services but to take advantage of a working class people with very limited income and pray on their emotions is crewel. You are not working to the best interest of an animal or its owner you are not trying to help. You are leaches that will take every penny from a person who is desperate to save their family member and is on the edge of selling their kidney not to lose an animal. You are strictly business driven and you are not an animal lover which a vet should be. $1500 versus $5000? Your prices are not reasonable. Look around your neighborhood you do not hold your facility in South Barrington you are serving a working class community adjust your prices based on who you are serving. My daughter and I were crying out our eyes to you we thought we will have to euthanize our baby because we didnt have $5000 to spent yet another doctor in the suburbs in Northlake was able to do the same thing for much less and save my dogs life. You disgust me in every way possible. Waiting to be attended in an emergency situation for 2 hours and a half is not acceptable. I am very lucky to have my dog alive because you would been glad to euthanize her to get money out of me instead of saving her.

I was nervous reading some reviews but I just had the most positive experience I’ve had with a vet in my 12 yr-old cat’s life so far. She’s been sick for almost 2 years with mystery diarrhea & some vomiting & more and more weight loss with increased appetite. I’ve had some very bad vet experiences, & they always want to blame you for their shortcomings & mistakes & can be really cold-hearted. The doctors & nurses/techs at this clinic are all REALLY amazing & kind! Intelligent, calm, professional, they took everything seriously, they dealt with me being somewhat panicky & nervous with kindness, they were amazing with my very anxious sick cat. No sedation, no MUZZLE, they were gentle. I finally got the tests & questions answered I’ve been struggling to get since the middle of 2018.I used to manage a medical office and do still work in the field. I demand professionalism. They were so professional, no emotional manipulation, no one was passive aggressive, rude, or condescending which has plagued me in Chicago vet offices for years. The clinic was clean & they were efficient. My only negative would be that their waiting room had older cushions on the seats and they are worn, need to be replaced very soon! Other than that, I was perfectly at ease and I’m a germaphobe with (managed) anxiety issues who works in medicine with people and animals, so I have very high standards and expectations. Definitely would recommend Dr Simpson and her staff! I finally have answers and a real treatment plan. They didn’t up sell me on anything, they just told me what my options were. They never judged me. They never mislead me.COST: So I’ve had these tests quoted to me by 4 different vets in town....including a part MedVet quote. These prices were average, typical, and not inflated. I was VERY relieved and not surprised. Vet care is medical care, it’s not cheap! The front office told me about Care Credit before my visit and I applied and got enough to pay for the visit and do a follow-up soon and cover all meds, and possibly a dental exam soon. Not one of the other vets I saw ever mentioned Care Credit to me. Lifesaver! I had an appointment here, I did not come as an emergency patient.* I cannot speak to what their emergency services are like.* Maybe try to have your vet refer you for an appointment and ask to be squeezed in ASAP instead of just going in IF YOU CAN. There are different levels of “crisis”. Mine wasn’t “rush to hospital to save life”, so I was able to wait several days for an appointment, (but it was urgent) which they made right away and squeezed me into a very busy day. So these are my cat’s new sheroes!
