Ive spent 3 weeks at Kindred Chicago Lake shore and will be here 2 more weeks. The staff is professional and very attentive. And the food -- no kidding-- is really good. Rehab staff are really good at personalized training an coaching.

My awesome companion has gone through a little while there and I do like the private rooms. I was in her space for lunch and it looked great. She has an injury however it seems as though it could be getting more modest .

This place is so wonderful! Its close to the lake and it is a great place to bring your loved one!

The place isn’t clean. At all. Cobwebs in every room. Floors look like they’re never cleaned. The bathrooms make me feel gross. Every time I get home I leave my shoes and clothes at the door and hop in the shower. Some staff is ok. Majority is pushy about their own beliefs of what one should do. A lot of the staff is not able bodied to take care of patients. in a place where strength and speed should be in abundance, Kindred is lacking.I will give a huge shoutout to Richard in PT and Damone the nurse.

Thanks for helping our family through difficult times. Not all places allow visiting your does, and the rooms were large a private. The care was good and we enjoyed the entire team. We enjoyed some more than other overall it a good place.

I found the staff to be extremely professional and competent. They were courteous and pleasant when administering to patients. They have excellent communication skills. I found the family conference most helpful and informative, often answering questions even before they were asked. Most of all I appreciated the response time when there was a question.. Thank you for the wonder care.

We recently had a family member spend 2+ months at this facility. The pandemic has made having a family member in care a very difficult time, however, the staff at Kindred was very professional and accommodating to the family. We truly believe that our aunt received the proper care and attention during her stay. The quality of care was excellent but the special attention that we received from the nursing team and nurse case manager was above and beyond. All of our questions were answered immediately and we the care was explained in great detail. We would recommend Kindred for the care of your loved ones.

Day shift staff is very attentive but night …... Nurses Maria, Jackie, Polo, and Candy are wonderful! This is a good place for healing.

The most positive thing out of 100ot 90 know their business. The place appears to be clean they are response to my needs are good. As all place they issues but they always correct

3 stars reason being is, because you guys must be taking care of my sister she’s still here in the land of the living but why Do you guys NOT allow US TO VISIT?? My best friend has been there for months now and I have not been able to visit her I need answers!! She needs to hear her loved ones voice. We miss her dearly!! Help us please.

I’ve worked in healthcare since 1999. Over the years, I’ve referred patients & families to hundreds of facilities for different levels of care throughout Illinois & Northwest Indiana. Families always ask, “What can you tell me about XYZ?” While I cannot make any recommendations, I can now answer with full confidence that Kindred-Lakeshore should be at the top of any list of LTACHs. My mom had a horrific hospital experience at my local 911 hospital. It was a battle just to get her discharged. However, once she arrived at Lakeshore, everything improved. From Kelly the hospital liaison all the way to the environmental services staff, absolutely everyone took such great care ensuring my mother received the best care possible. I cannot possibly thank them enough. Today, she left Lakeshore a woman with a new lease on life who is determined to succeed in rehab and return home to the family that adores her. Thank you Team Lakeshore. Thank you!

My mother is a patient on a feeding tube. I was naturally concerned she may pull it out as she tends to scratch a lot in stomach area. I often found myself stopping her, so I decided to ask a nurse to tell me specifically where it is located. Instead of pointing out on his own body the approximate location of the tube, he simply pulled her dressing down to the tube spot exposing her nakedness without asking her permission as would a professional. My mother let me know she was livid about that. She felt violated. At least I found out she can talk clearly when she wants to.

My family made a good choice in this location, we thought it was a nursing home, but its not. Its like a smaller hospital and they really worked on helping my dad come back to himself.

This is a great place for healing. Myroom is nice an clean and the food is good. Valeria come and checkedI meeverday.

They dont answer the phone, the phone will ring until it automatically hangs up

My son, who is autistic was a patient for about two weeks. He was accepted and made comfortable while there. At all times I felt he was respctedtod and treated with respectNurses and support staff are wonderful.

The staff show great attentive to patients and very clean facility. I love the physical therapy staff.

My sister spent several weeks from an accident and she improved with their help. We got a chance to visit and the place was nice and clean and her lunch looked good also.Thanks guys

The people at this hospital are very understanding and caring. Especially Mrs. Bryant the patient care representative, she made me feel very comfortable and she was very accommodating by setting up zoom calls so that I can see my mom.

My fiance has been there a week, i was very scared about a place that i didn,t get a chance to see before hand, but the staff seam very friendly and kind to the patients, and vistors the hospital is very clean thank you all in advance for taken care of our love one,you will hear from me and see me often on visting days, may god bless you all. please take care of him we want him back home

My son has been in the care of Kindred lakeshore for about a week now and at first I was a little concerned because I wasnt familiar with the facility and how it works, but now Im very grateful for the care hes receiving and now that we are dealing with this pandemic Coivd 19 makes it very difficult , because Im not able to visit with him and be by his side. Thankfully I have a very kind and considerate patient advocate that helps me to visit with my son through facetime and I appreciate her and all the nurses and staff.Praying for my son as well as all the doctors, nurses and staff.

My cousin was there for about 3-4wks and when speaking with him over the phone he had only nice things to say about the place. He really enjoy some of his nurses , doctors and the rest of the team.

Every medical facility has many attributes, but Kindred has exceptional staff that cares. They are knowledgeable and compassionate.

THEY NEVER ANSWER THE PHONE AN WHEN THEY DO U WILL BE PUT ON HOLD FOR SO LONG THAT THE PHONE HANGS UP ON U ...THEY ARE UNPROFESSIONAL AS FAR AS KEEPING U INFORMED ABOUT WHAT U WANT TO AN NEED TO KNOW ABOUT YO LOVED ONES ...IF I HAD A CHANCE TO DO IT OVER I WOULD NEVER HAVE PLACED MY LOVED ONE IN THERE ..FRFR AN THEY DONT GET NO STARS I ONLY GAVE THE ONE SO I CAN POST

The nursing and aids were good and took care of my needs. The place is clean and seems to be well ,maintained. Food was about a 3. It was really the only negative I could give the place.

So far so good. I took a tour before going here. Something I should have done with the first place we went too. My son is very ill and was in another long term care before we came here. The staff didn’t seem to wanna listen to my concerns for my son. He wound up back in ICU with a bad infection. So during the tour I brought this up and wanted to make sure our needs were taken care of. Everyone so far has been very helpful and pleasant. He’s doing well here and I am very pleased. They’ve been very accommodating to me as a caregiver too. Pillows, blankets and a place to sleep over night in his room, and the food is really good at a reasonable price. Thank you Kindred for making a hard situation more bearable.

I highly recommend Kindred LakeShore hospital for your loved ones care. I toured several Kindred hospitals before my family had my granddaughter flown back home via air ambulance after a devastating illness occurred while she was on vacation in Cancun. The patient relations representative was awesome in assisting us with the transfer transition. The facility is warm, friendly and most of all very clean. The multidisciplinary staff have done an awesome job in caring for my granddaughter . Thank you Kindred “we Love you”.

The staff is awesome and I call them all my friend. House keeping staff are great at keeping my room clean and friendly. The gym I love and Mellisa, Richard and the rest of the team. Valeria is awesome and friendly she made feel wanted. The food is great and the room are hugh.

This review should have been written quite some time ago but taking care of my dad. He was there about a year ago on the 3rd floor and everyone treated us very nice. I have since know friend that needed a place like this and recommended you guys. Dad was a private guy so I will just leave his initials for reference G.T.. He has his wings now and Im taking time to take care of some of his unfinished business.

This place is wonderful and so caring toward their patients I have never experience this before. You are treated with respect no matter who come in your room. Just want to say thank you and other hospitals should follow your example. You guys are highly recommended by me. I dont want to leave!

In my personal opinion Valeria Bryant is a very profession and knowledgeable person and should be considered a valuable asset to this hospital.

I have had the best care. The folks here are the best. They care, they take there time with you. The food is wonderful. I can not say enough how well I love this Kindred. What a great place.

You guys are really good at respiratory, you guys got my oldest sister off that machine. This was done within 2weeks of being with awesome work and the nurses are wonderful also. I would recommend this place to any and everyone. Thanks Kindred Lakeshore

My granddad was there he has been ill for sometime. He had his own private room with a nice view of the lake. We were even able to stay over if that,s something we wanted to do. He was there recently but i remember i promise to tell of the experience and it has taken a while but better late than never. Your staff knew what they were doing and the doctor explained his condition and recovery process. These kind of places are much needed.

Thanks you at Kindred Lakeshore, your team of care giver have meet all my needs throughout my stay. The doctors treated me and my family with courtesy and respect and always explained thing about my heath in a way I could understand. They were never rushed when making their visits and listen carefully to what I had to say about my health concerns. The nurses were attentive to my needs and responded to the call button light in a timely manner. They made sure my medications were given on time and if you have ever been hospitalized you know the importance of receiving your medication on time.

My brother has been staying there for few weeks already, and been receiving very good care. Special shout out to Valerie, whos been going above and beyond for her patients! Recommend.

Started as a 4.5 rating. Staff was the best after the 1st day of concerns, however they were addressed immediately and after that it became a 5 star health resort. Thank you to all the staff and Doctors that cared for me. I do mean EVERYONE. THIS PLACE IS THE BEST SO FAR.

I stayed at kindred Chicago Lakeshore after my surgery. Everyone was very nice and professional. I really felt cared for there was always someone checking to see if me and by boyfriend were ok and if we needed anything. The food was good and I will miss everyone that I met thank you to everyone that had a part in helping me get better.

I like being here because the staff treat me rightMake me feel comfortable. They make sure I have my snack and keep my room clean. They treat me with respect. This isnt my first time here and I requested to come back.

The whole Kindred Lakeshore staff is great everyone has a wonderful attitude. PPR was very helpful I was so frustrated about a matter and she helped me through to a more calm Manor and also everyone heard my request and adhered to them right away. Thank You so much Im happy I came here.

My husband was admitted here for wound care and I have to admit I was not so sure . BUT I AM SO GLAD WE DID!! The staff is GREAT, everyone from the receptionist , house keeping, dietary., PT and OT,.everyone ..just AWESOME. The nurses and the nursing satff are just wonderful!! THE WOUND CARE TEAM ARE PHENOMENAL❤❤❤❤❤. We will surly miss the staff and my husband will miss EVERYONE & THE GOOD FOOD too😊😊. Thank you ALL for ALL you do.

My mother, Carol Russell was recently a patient at Kindred on N Sheridan Rd. Sadly, she passed. The care she received while at this comfortable, clean, very well run facility was excellent. Everyone was lovely, helpful, calm, professional, and so considerate.My family has been dealing with nursing homes and rehab facilities for the last two decades. This is by far the best experience we have ever had. Right from Valerie and Valeria at the front desk, to Nicole and her remarkable team, the technicians, nursing staff, aides, and even the maintenance workers, were all lovely.Thank you very much,Lynne Forella

This had been a different experience for entire family. Now we are at another location but to our surprise it’s not a nursing home. Auntie has a private room too. So far so good no issues and they seem to be following the right corse for her health.

It is a very quiet place. The staff was laided back and friendly. The wound care team was great. They made a plan and helped heal wounds in a few weeks.

The facility was very clean and the staff outstanding and extremely attentive. The staff was very knowledgeable and highly experience and made me feel very relax and comfortable in ensuring me of the treatment my friend will be receiving. I visited the facility when a close friend was recovering from surgery and the staff was there for all of their needs. The facility provided alot of options regarding the number of visitors and space where we can come and supply support for my friend. The majority of the staff all knew my friend by name and really added that extra needed support to help with the recovery process. I found the facility to be a top rated high quality facility for all kinds of recovery patients.

My sister was there and you guys treated her so well. Breakfast was great for the family and so helpful for us. Rehab, wound care, and nursing team was just great.

Lakeshore your staff helped a great deal with future plans for our mother. We took advise about how to continue her care once discharged for your location and it seems to be working well but of course she a challenge. Her stay there help her in so may ways.

I had to spend 6 weeks at Kindred on antibiotic therapy, and what I thought was going to be a lonely time, turned out to be a great time. The staff was amazing, Karen my first nurse there made everything all right. Mary (Marion), Paul and Valeria brought me books and encouraged me to stay active. So many other nurses were amazing, just not enough space. I love this place. I couldnt be happier with my stay.

My mom was here and we were so pleased with the care provided. We did have issues at first because we were nervous and her illness came on so sudden and she is all we have. My sister and I are in different states and that is hard also. After we got to know the staff and experience the family care meeting, we calm down quiet a bit. We wanted to discharge home or go to some type of rehab place and they are really working to help us obtain that goal. We are able to eat FREE breakfast and if we need a way there and back they offer that to. We do understand the details of her illness and really appreciate your team of care giver helping us to get there.

I currently have my boyfriend at kindred and from my experience as having a loved one here I’m very satisfied no complains everyone here all the staff is incredible this is about the best decision we’ve made of bring my boyfriend here since he’s got here he’s progressed so much I wish we had brought him here in the first place thank you for everything you’ve done kindred to all the nurses and therapist here I highly recommend this place it earned its stars.

My experience with Kindred Lakeshore has been very warm and welcoming. I have been nothing but completely satisfied with the care that has been given to my brother. He has had the opportunity to reside in this location on several occasions. The staff there are very attentive, and the environment is clean. My personal interaction with staff has been very welcoming with the assurance that he will receive the best care they have to offer. With that being said, I must say I am completely satisfied.. I came to facility 7 2019 a broken vessell..had trach..unable to walk and minimal motions in hand..I had great therapists..doctors and wo derful staff who pushed and motivated to I moving on to the next phase of my recovery..Walkin..g out with a voice..able to walk and clap my hands to say thanks for all of ur support toward..thx for ur support and concern..

What l like about the nurse are kind, they arent demanding and you have choice to yes or no. I love the location, they dont tell you things about your health without knowing. Good staff.

When I first got to kindred I didnt know what to expect. I had severe sciatica and caught an infection in my back from back surgery that landed me at kindred. I couldnt walk or even sit up in bed. The staff at kindred help me and Im very grateful for every last person there that I met especially physical therapy because I shedded alot of tears because I was pushed to get better and I did. Kindred is where I took my first steps and I would recommend them to anyone who needs care like I did. Keep in mind that you have to want it in order for them to help you get better Thank you to everyone I met at kindred

Nasty horrible place. Equipment is old elevator ugly and floor coming off. The windows with duck tape this place is just and old dump. Really old beds rust everywhere. Do not bring your loved one to this nightmare. They will do nothing to help people get better. Just horrible

Do not bring your loved ones here. Children are not allowed in the rooms or upstairs, the staff have a big attitude with you when you question them going against doctors orders, they have not been friendly to us at all, the patient does not feel safe here nor comforted. The rooms are beat up, paint coming off the walls, ceilings have water stain marks all over, no chairs or couches for anyone to stay with the patient over night, bathroom is shared with the next door patient including sharing showers and it’s very tiny so you can’t keep any belongings in there because you share it. The Special bed my boyfriend needs for his wound is extremely old and barely working and it’s inparative that he has one that works for it to be better since he just got the surgery days ago. The cafe closes at 2pm so the only food is one single vending machine, my boyfriend has already been manipulated because he kept going to the bathroom (he can’t control it because he’s paralyzed) and they were getting mad, and we in general overall do not feel safe or welcomed here. I stepped out in the hall to go get food from his mom and they were gossiping as I walked past. He has spinal cord damage and is in a brace and they kept tossing him back and forth side to side to see if he went to the bathroom anymore. They are not friendly at all, and we are leaving as soon as we can tomorrow. It’s been about 3 hours and we want to leave ASAP. Worst experience we have ever had and I want to cry knowing he’s going through this considering this injury has already been two months and still going. Being here for the 3 hours so far has made things 100x worse. We are out as soon as possible.

I liked knowing we were to spend the night and they made sure it was relaxing. My family really enjoyed how we were able to come to rehab and help mom work to achieve some of her goal.

Great place for healing. When I first got there I was hard to deal with due to my health condition, dealing with my own angry. After meeting the staff and getting to know them I really found they were nice. I was having a lot of pain and wanted medication when wanted it. After long conversion with the doctors they explained what pain meds can do positive and negative. If I had to have another stay at a hospital it would be Kindred Lakeshore:)

My father went to Kindred Lake shore to rehab after surgery, he went to cardiac arrest and God knows for how long he was w/o oxygen as his nurse was in lunch. This people are murders and their facility must be closed. My dad has brain damage now. I really dont know where all the good reviews are coming from because seriously, this place is a garbage can.
