Had a laser lipo appointment today with Mrs. Gonia. Not only was she fantastic, the overall experience was great. Mrs. Gonia was very knowledgeable and personable with the treatment.

All of the food was tasty. The wait staff was very accommodating and patient with someone who doesnt know much about vegan cuisine. I did not miss the meat, it was so flavorful. Highly recommended. And we got the treat of a table visit from Karyn herself, who looks like her food has blessed her with the secrets of good living.

My experience today was great! The woman that assisted me was very professional and thoughtful. I also got a chance to meet the owner and her beautiful dog Matthee. She was so down to earth...kind of reminded me of my aunt. I will definitely go back!...The juice bar is said to open in Feb...cant wait to see whats on the menu.

Fresh, raw, vegan food can taste amazing! Karyns introduced me to raw food filled with flavor. We started with a delicious green drink made with cacao and coconut butter. Sampled a cheese plate and had sushi and ravioli for entrees. The raw cheesecake for dessert was divine and decadent, youll have to share! Im sure this was a high calorie meal, but it was a fun splurge.

Awful. As a non-dairy eater I really wanted to like this place, but I wouldnt come back here. I stood outside at 11:00 am and it took over 5 minutes and some window tapping for them to acknowledge me and open for the day. Even though I was the first one there they completelyforgot about my order and server 4-5 customers first. 40 minutes later I was tired of waiting and got up to ask. Then I got the curry bowl about 10 minute later. The worst part. Toward the end of my meal I found a bug in the food. A small beetle like thing dead and floating. GROSS! I took the plate to the counter and showed it to the staff. I was so upset I just walked out. I didnt even ask for a refund or scandalize the other customers. Consider yourself warned.

Upon arrival, I was greeted with a smile by Goania (sorry for the misspelling) and Karyn (the owner). The spa is very nice. Shekeila was knowledgeable and made me very comfortable and walked me through the entire process. 5 Stars

My experience was terrible, I went for four treatments. The first three I felt were a lie because she would give me a measurement that was not correct and gave me a treatment that was not secured with the heating treatment. So I went for fourth treatment in the morning, the employer gave me an accurate measurement and fitted me in a belt that was fitted and the heated pads were warm. For the first time I felt the warming pads and I actually sweated, it was wonderful. Once finished the employer told Nancy at the front desk and I was told someone would reach out to me, I will not be returning because I was ignored and very rude not to call me to apologize so I will not continue service there. I can say more but I refuse to be rude like them.

This place has a restaurant but it also has also a buffet/salad bar and prepackaged take home food. It also has a small store with books and ingredients. The buffet is nice. They had raw pizza when I went and it was good. The restaurant side is usually less busy than the the store/buffet/take home side. They staff is really friendly and helpful if you dont know what anything is or what to get. Some of the room is expensive but you can get smaller portions from the salad bar. Raw food is very filling so you dont need that much. Its a really great place for experienced raw foodists but also nice for first timers because of how helpful they are.

I had my first colon hydrotherapy session ever today and Im eager to go back for another. Shakeila worked with me, she was calming, she explained how things were going to work as we were progressing, and she shared tips for better digestion with me. I certainly feel the euphoria afterwards, everyone at Karyns was extremely friendly and inviting. They have a new customer for life! Thank you, ladies.

Went to this place only yesterday, even though Ive been living close by for the past year. I love it! Th service was great. The waitress was super patient on trying to explain to us (a group of 7) all the details of their unusual menu. At least, unusual for me, but simply amazing. All the food was delicious, though I can see some eyes rolling when I say the words raw and vegan. The only dish I was not a huge fan was their Pad Thai. The place is a little small, so you might want to call them before going, just to guarantee. Its definitely one of my favorites places in Chicago now!

Do not come here if you have food allergies! I came in with a friend who notified the server of her allergies and had the server check that her dish would not contain any corn. The server assured us it would not. My friend’s pizza was brought to the table and she ate a slice before noticing there was cornmeal dusted all over the crust. When my friend called over the server (a different one than before), she was told that substance was not cornmeal. We asked what it was, and the server said he couldn’t tell us because he didn’t speak Spanish and thus could not talk to the kitchen staff. No one in your restaurant can speak to the cooks?!? Eventually he took the dish back and confirmed it was cornmeal. Karyn came over to our table but instead of apologizing profusely for the mistake, she offered my friend a bottle of her “enzymes” and told her that food allergies were simply a digestive imbalance. I’m sorry, but my friend’s serious health issue is not the moment to advertise your snake oil! An overall terrible experience. I’m vegan and want to support vegan businesses in this city, but I will never be back to Karyn’s.

Karyns cooked used to be my favorite restaurant. I am so sad at how absolutely terrible it is now - no wonder theyve lost 2/3 locations. We were the only customers that walked in and we waited 15 minutes to be seated. We ended up sitting down at a table on our own. The table had a warm carafe of water already sitting there and 4 glasses with stickers on them that were dirty. When we did finally get service and food, it was not what it used to be. It seemed microwaved, definitely not freshly cooked, especially the rice and beans. We didnt see our waitress for over a half hour. No wonder no one comes in there to eat. I will never be back

Major problem with using my debit card here. They said neither card worked. Yet my transaction history showed 3 charges to my debit card, later credited. The woman working the front desk did not know what she was doing or they are having major system issues with their point of sale system. We walked out. They lost 2 sales. Very disappointed.

I love Karys! Cant live without it. Food is always good and the service is always friends. I have done the detox nine times and I feel great! Definitely check this place out !!!

I expected more from one of the first raw/vegan restaurants in Chicago (especially one that has been around for a while) and though I shared several different offerings off of the menu, I was unimpressed. The fact that we were the only ones dining spoke volumes (though I initially chalked it up to the fact it was a Tuesday night, and it seems like a fancier place). There is a nice shop/juice bar selling natural products adjacent to the restaurant, and the parking lot was a bonus for Lincoln Park (in an area that is all meters now). I dont see myself returning here anytime soon, though I may still give Karyns on Green or Karyns Cooked a try.

Terrasa was behind amazing. Today I went in for my first colon hydrotherapy. I have to admit I was terrified. Terresa made sure I was very relaxed during the whole procedure. From the greeting by Gonia down to the very last second these ladies were awesome. I will be going back for another hydrotherapy in a few months and I highly recommend this place.

Amazing All You Can Eat Buffet on Sundays!!! The best way to sample every dish on the menu. Tip: ask for the smoothy that is included in the buffet in a to-go cup - it is way to sweet and will ruin your experience, but its a nice treat later on.

THIS PLACE ROCKS! I ordered the cooked sloppy Joe and it was one of the best things Ive ever eaten!! My mom and dad also both loved their dishes, so much that they wouldnt share with me! If you are in Chicago looking for vegan food, PLEASE COME HERE!! It is sooo yummy. The only reason I did not give it a 5 star rating is the service was pretty unfriendly, and for dessert I got a raw vegan cheesecake for NINE dollars--very overpriced and it tasted really bad.

This is gourmet raw vegan heaven. I am a recent raw vegan that has had dreams of pizza and they satisfied my cravings with two types of raw vegan pizza. They have a full staff that is there to spoil you in many types of gourmet vegan cheese spreads and all types of home made treats. I went to the cafe to left but there is a restaurant to the right also. I am glad I dont live near here or I would spend so much money.

Not sure if the food is good because iv been sitting and waiting for a waitress or waiter to acknowledge me for the past 15 min and counting....... service is terrible. The cook just glanced at me so maybe Ill get lucky and someone will come ask me what I want to eat. 🙄

I am so grateful for Karyns Fresh Corner. I feel so alive when I eat there...my body is happy for the loving nourishment! I have been losing weight easily....buy a gallon of rejuvulac every time I am there to clear and rebuild my system.....I drink it every morning. The food is fresh and amazing!Last week when I was there I had the new soft serve (completely natural and dairy free and even healthy) soft serve ice cream ...vanilla topped with coffee ice cream. OMG seriously. This is what I want for my birthday...more!!!!

Best colon therapists and facials in Chicago, IL - period! I have been a big fan of Karyns for years and thought that I would give it a shout by writing this review. I have used many holistic services at Karyns Spa and my all time favorites are colonics, infra red sauna and Myopulse facials. I like the ZEN atmosphere in the Spa and the staff makes you feel like you are part of a big family. There are not many places in Chicago where you can get this kind of special treatment and services that rejuvenate your body, mind and soul!

Karyns is the ultimate raw experience. Everything is truly done right and are held to the highest standards which is a testament to Karyns mission that customers deserve to be given pure health-based food. This instead of toxic, profitizing, chemically-addictive, debilitating mainstream trash.

Very sanitary-refrigerates food which doesnt even have to be refrigerated (like all of their fruit & veg). Super clean & friendly.But the most important-The Best raw restaurant & store by far. Food with actual flavor, crunch & style, not just bland veggie rolls.Same goes for the staff, who seem to be very happy.It seems that lengthy crazy food critics are just that. No food is good enough. Its not a fast-food joint. Its not a taco place. Its not filled with chemically labed cheez.So live, fresh food vs. junk pre-cooked takes too long for us. Like a home-made meal (1-2 hrs) vs. the frozen Costco version (30 min to feed 8).Love this place.

Worst dining experience ever.My boyfriend and I have been going to Karyns for years, the one on Green and on Wells, before they both closed. This was our first time coming to the one on Halsted and we will never come back. We walked in and the sign said, Please wait to be seated So we waited. And waited. And waited. We looked questioningly at waitstaff, all who looked through us. Then finally a bus boy told us we could just seat ourselves. There were a few tables with people, but not packed. It took a while to take our order, during which we ordered two ice teas and an appetizer. We got our hummus plate, but no tea. Our waitress must have walked past us 3 or 4 times before she actually brought them. Then the waiting really started.We waited 45 mins before I finally had to stop the waitress (who must have walked right past our table to serve the two people behind us their 4 entrees about a dozen times) and ask her how much longer it would be, and also ask for more of the supposedly bottomless iced tea which had sat empty about a half hour. When our meals finally arrived, my boyfriends was cold, from waiting from my meal to be finished, and mine was absolutely awful. The veggies and sauce were bland and the rice was horribly salty. Again I had to call her over to explain the food was inedible, something I never do at a restaurant. But after waiting 45 mins I was slightly perturbed. She was very nice and recommended something else and I only had to wait 15 mins for that to come out, but I got to watch my boyfriend eat his cold meal.So 20 mins after I started eating, I have to call our waitress over and ask for a box and tell her wed like to order some dessert. We watch her walk back and forth, past us another 5 or 6 times before I call her again, and instead of acknowledging me, she holds up a finger and walks away. Im normally very patient and I understand shes busy with her 6 tables, but a box. Just drop off a box. She finally does after giving me the finger (index, not middle. boy that would have been icing on the cake!) along with our check...guess were NOT getting dessert then. By this point Ive had it. I put one of my many gift cards I have for karyns (because my family all knows how much I *used* to love this place) in the check bill and my boyfriend tells me to go get the car and hell continue to wait to be ignored, because I might just loose it. While Im walking to the car, I totally forget where weve parked so it takes me a good 10 mins to find the car, after which my boyfriend calls me and said he just walked out because he was tired of waiting. There was about twice our bill on the card and we just left it there because its not like were going to come back to use it. We were there over 2 and a half painful hours. Awful awful experience. We dont get out as often as wed like, so we were hoping to have a nice date night.So, I have two other gift cards with about $150 left on them if anyone would like to sit forever and get crappy food. I sure as heck am not going to go back.
