I’m not sure where to begin with this review. I’ll start by saying that Erika B. has been the perfect fit as a therapist for me. She has helped me work through things I hadn’t even considered before starting our work together. I consider myself a pretty open and honest person and very in touch with my feelings, but until starting therapy with Erika, I had so much stuff buried deep down that I’d avoided examining. She has helped me clarify my issues and uncover so much. I have always felt safe with her and am so proud of the progress I have made with her expert guidance. I still have a long way to go, but I am so grateful that I found Clarity Clinic and Erika. I cannot recommend her enough! And if Erika is reflective of who gets hired at Clarity Clinic, I’d imagine all the therapists are exceptional as well. Do yourself a huge favor and start therapy ASAP—I have been amazed at how much my life has improved in just a few short months and I bet you will feel the same way!

Dr. Rachel Brown is a very kind, respectful & professional leader in this business establishment both from my River North & Lakeview experiences. Trust, you definitely would win the therapy lottery with her. she gives great feedback in scenarios and is present during the entire session. One in a million.

I’ve had nothing but positive experiences with Clarity Clinic in the last year and a half. They’re dedication to quality care has been so vital to me and I would highly recommend and Erika is a literal Godsend of a therapist!!! She’s the best!

I havent been to the physical office yet, but Ive had a good experience with Rachel Brown in our virtual meetings. I feel like she really listens to me and has been good about addressing my concerns. Id advise anyone to make a follow-up appointment with your provider rather than the scheduling staff. Ive called and left messages before and havent received a response. Rachel has been great about always asking at the end of meetings if Id like to schedule the next appointment.

Based on my experience, the therapist is Clarity very attentive and aware of changes in medicine. They specialize so they really care to provide the proper person to be able to focus on and address your specific concerns rather try to handle it all

The worst to get ahold of. Terrible communication between the office and the tele heath providers.Two weeks after my appointment, I’m still waiting on my prescription to be filled and for my provider to reach out to me confirming that she received it.When I asked them to cancel my next appointment because of this reason, they didn’t hesitate. Nor did they ask what the issue is or try to fix it.Also, I noticed that my visit cost almost $700 which was billed to my insurance. That’s insane. And I didn’t get anything out of it.

Today was my first day meeting Mitchell after I switched to him from another PA. I can already tell he’s incredibly patient and a great listener and I look forward to seeing him every few months. I have nothing but great things to say about everyone at Clarity Clinic so if you’re on the fence let this be your nudge to make an appointment and get your mental health in line. 😌

I find my doctor to be very understanding of my needs and works with me on creating treatment plans that fit to my busy college life.

Dr. Green was very easy to talk to. He made me feel safe.

Bakthar Usman Is my PA & she is absolutely wonderful. I felt heard and truly listened to the very first session we had. She’s started me on a treatment plan that has transformed my life in as little as 1 month. Will never have another psychiatrist specialist besides her.

Rachel Brown PA is outstanding. Easy to relate to and understand. I have had telemedecine visits for the past year and enjoy the convenience of the service. I cant comment on the office overall since I have only dealt with with Rachel.

I was a little skeptical at first because its not always fun switching doctors and starting the process all over again, but Dr. Kolakowski restored my faith. He is very polite, empathetic, and a very good listener. Thank you for helping me when I needed it the most !

That was the very first visit in my 27 years of life that a doctor or PA genuinely appreciated the research i put into my own health. Everyone else either has dismissed me or counteracted my own research with outdated practices. Bakhtawar was so kind, compassionate and encouraging. Very pleased with my experience.

What I’m seeing on here is that patients have been telling you for months that they need better communication and all that has been said is that its being worked on.Patients. Need. Ease of access. To. Communication. That should be a given. Denying that to your patients is not acceptable.I’ve been trying to get through this morning and I realized that my message probably isn’t even going to be listened to...same as almost always. It should be a simple thing. Go back to the way you had the phone set up pre-covid.

Avoid this place like the plague. I had an appointment a few months ago and the provider was supposed to reach out to my previous psychiatrist and then get back to me. They’ve yet to get back to me and all attempts to reach anyone at the office have failed.In addition to that, I was deeply unimpressed with the provider during our appointment. Seeing her was a waste of time and money. I’ve never had the misfortune to interact with such an unprofessional practice.

Disrespectful practice with a dysfunctional check-in system. I arrived early, tried to check in twice, ended up waiting 30 min and then was turned away because I was too late.

Bakthar Usman is my provider and she’s been amazing from the start. She’s listened to my concerns and addressed them as well as started me on a treatment that’s done wonders for my health and life :)

Promised me the appointment would be in person, cancelled 50 minutes before the session via text message and received a Zoom link. Asked how much the session would cost, was told the therapist would explain. Asked the therapist the cost, was given *no* sum and told my insurance would *totally* cover it. Received a bill for more than I could afford, and was told by Clarity’s billing that it was my responsibility to know my insurance coverage. What, so I’m supposed to waste my own money fact-checking my therapist during the session to catch them if they’re lying? Reprehensible and dishonest customer service. Thought it was an honest mistake at first, but reading the other reviews here, it’s clear they are running a scam. They have an F with the BBB.

I just met with Dr. Kolakowski via telehealth and it was one of the most supportive and affirming visits with a medical professional that I have ever had. Ive worked in Healthcare for a decade so thats saying a lot! He was personable, explained everything so clearly, took time to answer all my questions, and never made me feel rushed or dismissed like I have felt with providers in the past. He explained that women and racial minorities are often not getting the care they need for issues like mine which felt validating. I felt he recognized ways that I have been managing my symptoms on my own and cared about trauma Ive experienced before. He also used a cute analogy- his role is to help with tools for me as the ultimate mechanic to meet MY goals and if it turns out a tool isnt working in the way Id like then together we can explore other options to expand my toolbelt. The scheduling team was also very supportive and worked with me through a mistake I had made with paperwork so that I wouldnt miss my appointment. Highly recommend!

They do not answer the phone. They have the same start-of-the pandemic answering machine blaming “unusual high volume of calls”. Yeah right…So when you “have to” schedule an appointment to be seen, just to get a refill of the same prescription that you just ran out of, good luck getting someone to answer and help you.

Worst clinic ever for sooooo many reasons. HORRIBLE communication, almost impossible to get someone to actually answer the phone, when they finally do they are useless! Its like pulling teeth to get your prescription filled! They are all about the money...they could care less about the actual patient. WISH I WAS WARNED. If you can go somewhere else...go! Youre better off!!!

If you want quick and easy communication as someone who struggles with mental health, the this is NOT the place for you. Every time I needed to get in contact directly with my prescriber without having a set appointment made months in advance I was out of luck. Just spent all day calling every hour only to have my prescriber FINALLY call back at 5. It took me 30 minutes to call back because I was working. 30 minute gap on my part and a 4 hour gap on theirs. Once I called back, she had left the office, and I wasn’t able to get the medication I desperately need. Please find another provider, cus I’ve been putting it off, and today was the final tipping point. They should be ashamed at the amount of mental distress their system causes to their patients who have mental health issues. This place is a joke.

Love my doctor and therapist. Hate the actual clinic, terrible to get in touch. Really only staying there for the doctor and therapist. Avoid if your a new client, theres better options out there.

I really like the doctor. The admin staff here, however, is atrocious. And if they didnt employ 99% of psychiatrists I would never use them again. First appointment I went they left me sitting in the lobby because apparently the woman didnt check me in correctly. Then they say sorry not sorry the doctor cant see you and want to reschedule in three weeks. Look I took time off work to come in and I get punished because you cant do your job?Then today the doctor wasnt able to connect so I was left in the virtual waiting room for 30 minutes only to call in and be told that I cannot be seen and the next available appointment is in three weeks. Cool my meds arent working but thanks for being so unhelpful

They constantly forgot to refill my medications and often made me feel as if it was my fault for not being able to get in touch with them. The worst part is they do not answer their phone so I had to get emergncy doses of my medication on way too many occasions. Note Ive been a patient of theirs for 2+years. Also, during the pandemic they were very insenstive to the needs of their patients almost all of my other doctors waived no show fees or late fees as they moved from in person to telemedicine. I was charged however and alot, which is my bad but without a reminder service or message service it made the transition just that much more awful as a depressed college student. Lastly, I do feel as though you can get whatever medicine you want, as if medicating is more important than approaching all options for mental health treatment such as meditation or CBD for anxiery instead of a controlled substance. It was way harder to get off of the prescriptions and after I did I realized I needed much less medication then prescribed here. This is not the place for someone who wants options for their mental health other then medicine, to have consistency and to be able to contact their doctor or get treated with much care. Please Avoid.

This place is THE WORST! They NEVER answer the phone. You will get transferred and hung up on. The voice message states, We are currently experiencing a high call volume ITS SAID THAT FOR 6 MONTHS! Just terrible and especially for a place that is supposed to help mental health.AWFUL!

This place just really misses the mark. I went for maybe 5-6 therapy sessions in early 2018 and stopped going because the therapist wasnt helpful to me and the office staff was a nightmare to deal with. My appointments were apparently scheduled at a time where the office was not actually open, so the therapist was meeting me there, I was always there first, and she had to open the building, make her beverage, etc. I was never able to ask any insurance questions because there was no receptionist present. It was also irritating that because she had to open the office, my appointment time was always cut short by about 10 minutes which is frustrating when youre paying by the hour for a service.Their billing department is a nightmare. They switched insurance participation without notifying me and three of my visits applied to my deductible. I tried multiple times (in 2018!) to call and settle this with them and struggled to get calls back. In 2019 I tried again to settle it and was told that the balance was going to be written off but apparently the billing person put in their notes that I was going to be making monthly payments. I dont make monthly payments on anything so this is not true.Fast forward to 2020 and I just recieved a collections letter. After immediately paying it, I called the office and spoke with Lynn in the billing department. She basically reitterated the same sequence over and over, spoke to me like I didnt understand how it works and was just generally unhelpful. So they placed an account in collections that is 2.5 years old and made no attempts to contact me via phone or email (they have both) and only sent me (unsuccessfully) statements via mail. I work in healthcare billing and am very attuned to how this process works and never in my career have I sent someone to collections without exhausting their contact resources. Mediocre therapy, very poor customer service and a billing department with constant turn over and staffing issues make this facility not even worth one star.

Staff are completely rude and treat you like you’re only there for adderall (just trying to get some cbt no medication at all) with mental health already being over priced, go somewhere that will treat you with respect, you deserve it.

All of the staff at Clarity Clinic were very helpful, personable, and friendly. This past Monday was my first visit to the clinic and I was immediately greeted by very friendly receptionists. Then I met with my therapist for the first time and I truly believe she can help me achieve my mental health goals. I will be returning weekly and have a good feeling about the work I will do there with my new therapist. I highly recommend this clinic to anyone. Also the clinic is not ridiculously expensive, even without insurance. It is definitely worth the level of care they provide.

Everyone at Clarity Clinic is so friendly and helpful. They greet you with a smile and are very helpful if you have questions. Rachel Brown has been such a great person to work with. She even took the time to print me off coupons for my medications. I am lucky to have found this place and would recommend it to anyone that is in need of help.

This is a great clinic. The therapist I am seeing is great. She is very kind, and helpful. All the therapists there seem very nice and down to earth. It is such a warm atmosphere. The clinic is very welcoming, I am glad to have found a therapist so close to home. I highly recommend this clinic if you are looking for a therapist.

The place is fantastic. Super friendly all the way around. Dr Jonathon is amazing and I’m extremely happy that he’s back. I highly recommend this place. They accept all major insurances and the co-pay is very reasonable.

Ive been coming to various Clarity locations for two and a half years now, and their Lakeview outpost is top notch. The front desk staff are friendly and helpful, the therapists are excellent at their jobs, and everything about the space is calming and welcoming. I love how Ive felt being with Clarity and highly recommend it to anyone looking for mental health services.

Terrible experience with CASEY NOREIKA. I cant afford the results appointment so I still dont have them. I need the results so I can get prescribed the correct medication. Until she hands in the results she can edit them. This has to be unethical and illegal.

I love this office, it’s brand new, and very soothing when you walk in. The staff is always super friendly and accessible. They offer you water, tea, or coffee open your entrance and make you feel right at home. My experience with Jenna has been nothing but positive so far. I look forward to working with her in the future!

I recently went to Clarity Clinic due to experiencing overwhelming depression and anxiety. From the moment I walked in I felt comfortable and cared for. I worked with various psychiatrists and therapists at Clarity and they have been nothing but helpful and kind, really listening to my needs and showing empathy for my situation. I would recommend Clarity to anyone in the area in need of mental health services or just going through a difficult time.

Dr. Gilfillan is wonderful. She encouraged me to go into a full time treatment program when I really needed it and I am so much better now. My depression and anxiety are now manageable.

Its so frustrating, because I love my psychiatrist (Kolokowski, ge got all the stars), but the office staff is a nightmare. I get hung up on all the time. I cant get in touch with anyone to ask a question or make an appointment. They dont return phone calls or give my doctor messages. I had to physically come into the office to yell at them to get a renewed prescription after trying for 3 weeks over the phone. How are you so damn irresponsible at a place that supports mental health care? If you dont have a specific reason to come here, go somewhere else.

*NOTE: There is a HUGE banner on the building that says ‘Psychiatry’ on it so for anyone who walks in, you’re protected status of a person with a mental disability is gone*Rachel Brown is a highly unprofessional psychiatrist and I would strongly recommend 1 using a different facility, and 2 not booking your appointment with her. When I arrived for my appointment at 8:30 am Rachel and a very rude receptionist were standing outside as neither had a key or code to open the door. They were trying to different co-workers to see if they had a key. At one point Rachel was even suggesting calling a locksmith. How, please explain how both the receptionist and psychiatrist do not have access to their own facility?!I was standing outside with them, in the cold weather, for more than 20 minutes before I decided to just leave these two unprofessional “professionals” alone. They looked absolutely ridiculous standing outside trying to open a door. When I suggested that I should just reschedule Rachel stated, “Yeah, just go ahead and do that”. The black receptionist attitude and level of incompetence is unnerving then stated, “Just cancel your appointment on the website and book another one.” Given that I took a month to schedule this and I was on time it was so disappointing that neither offered an apology or any assistance in maintaining the appointment I had.If a psychiatrist isn’t even allowed to have a key or code to the facility that they practice in, I highly doubt they can also be trusted prescribing medication. Don’t leave your mental health and well being in their hands. There are plenty of other psychiatrists in the area who can open a door and take much better care of you.

Tried to renew my meds through my pharmacy- and got a message my request was denied. Ive called 3 times and left a voicemail over the past 2-3 weeks and no one has called me back, and they still wont communicate with my pharmacy. Was finally making great progress, only to have to abruptly have my treatment interrupted with no answers. As soon as I can get a hold of someone, Im getting my meds and finding a new doctor whos responsive.

Ive been going to clarity clinic for about 3 years and its been great. My psychiatrist listens to me and understands what Im going through and she is helping me come off of medication that I never thought I could come off of. I recommend clarity clinic to anybody that is going through a rough time in their life. And my psychiatrist name is Alyssa. Anyone that needs help with medication or someone to talk to shes who I would recommend.

This is the first time in 50+ years that I needed help of this kind. My supplier is Mitchell Forbes, and just looking at it makes me feel a lot more confident that this is all a temporary situation and that I will start to see the light at the end of the tunnel very soon.The clinic staff are friendly and work to solve availability situations in record time if we keep in mind that these services are very saturated at this time due to the pandemic, etc.I feel much more positive and I am looking forward to the start of individual therapy this Saturday 💙
