Friendly and welcoming environment. Jaas was great! she made sure to get all my baby hairs purple (I have a lot). Jason saw that Jaas was running out of time with me but he made it possible for me to get a haircut that same day! Overall great experience, nothing negative to say.

I went here for my first Brazilian Blowout and a haircut, I was super nervous as I have natural type 4 hair, and have not had a chemical treatment in close to 5 years, but it was a good experience and everyone made me feel welcomed. They talked me through the process and assured me Id still have my curls afterwards (which I do!), but detangling and maintenance would be much faster ( which it is!). They started right on time and everything was very clean and sanitized. Throughout the process I could tell natural hair was not their area of expertise, but Holly was really personable, knowledgeable and was open to making it a collaborative process. She was super diligent and gentle with my strands, and she took her time detangling which was super appreciated. I had not had a hair cut in two years due to the pandemic so I had lots of dead ends which made detangling a challenge for her. A lot of salons that are not familiar with natural hair are very rough and assume black hair is tough even though it is very fragile so the fact that she didnt do this meant a lot. I would definitely recommend the Brazilian blowout to other naturals who want more manageability but do not want to get relaxers and I would certainly recommend Holly! As a note for other naturals booking appointments let Jason know all the facts about your hair so they can book the appropriate time, taking into account that this is not a natural hair salon so there is a little bit of a learning curve in technique and your appointment may take a bit longer, if you do that you are sure to have a great experience. I will definitely be back again and again!

From the beginning when Jason(who was kind and welcoming) answered the door, I felt at home. Mark was also very warm and took time to explain how he was going to cut my hair so that if I wasnt ready for that, I had time to change my request. We were on the same page which was great! Mark cut my hair better than I was hoping and what more can you ask for. He was also easy to talk to. I would definitely go back for another cut.

I love ReMarked and have been going to them for all of my hair needs for many years now. Jaas is my stylist and I would not trade her for anything. Aside from being clean and cautious during the current circumstances, they are also friendly and professional. I don’t see myself leaving them soon.

I would not recommend this place. I came in as a blond. I asked for a root touch up which was listed as $50 on their website. They charged me $150. And, I left with GREY hair. I didn’t want to leave but the stylist ensured me if I just washed my hair 1-2 times at home, the color would fade back to blond. Welp, I tried that and it was still grey. Also, the stylist ruined my shirt because she got color on the back of it. She didn’t even give me a robe to cover my back- just a smock. So, now my shirt has bleach on it and it is permanently wrecked. I called to see if they could correct the color and they said they would charge me the full price again to redo the color. That is ridiculous! I understand that people are human and make mistakes. But, they should own their mistakes. And, when charging this amount of money they should ensure people are happy with the service.

I’ve been getting Brazilian Blowouts for years, and Mark is hands down THE BEST. My hair always looks amazing when I leave and last time it lasted for almost 6 months. I won’t be going anywhere else as long as I’m in Chicago! He’s also super fun to talk to, which makes the time I’m sitting in the chair fly by.

I love ReMarked! Been going there for a year or two now with Marcella and I love her. She always takes the time to consult on my cut and color to make sure I am getting what I want. I also have very tricky hair in the sense that its thick and fairly frizzy. She always lets me wear my new cut for a few days and style it myself so that I can make sure it actually lays the way I want it to. If i need an adjustment (mostly thinning it out) she is always there to welcome me back with open arms. As for the salon itself, its super clean and airy. Everyone is always so friendly and trendy. I recommend ReMarked to everyone. They also use Paul Mitchell products and I am obsessed with them and always buy them when I am there!

I searched for someone who would give me deep chunky highlights that were not stripes going from one side of my head to the other. My stylist of many years said it was not really possible, because of the way she had to put the foils across the top of my head. I did not get the effect I wanted, so I reluctantly tried a friends stylist who came highly recommended. After three appointments, she got something close to what I wanted, but the next time she gave me stripes again! Another friend recommended Marcella, and I read the glowing reviews, so I gave it a shot. She did not disappoint! She was willing to adjust how the foils are placed to get the look I was going for. She even added a few more foils in strategic places to get the exact look I wanted. So happy to finally like my hair again!!

Mark and Jason run an outstanding salon. Their master stylist, Jaas, gives an awesome haircut. Presumably, the best mens fade in all of Chicago. The only place Ill go to get my haircut.

I love this salon! I see Marcella and she is great. The owners of the salon are dedicated and professional. Jason will always know your name when you walk through the door and they provide helpful tips regarding hair care without being too pushy on product recommendations. The cuts I have received are phenomenal and Ive referred a few friends who got great color done here. For amenities, you have water, wine, juice... But if you really want to treat yourself schedule your appointment on a Saturday for a free mimosa. ;) Also, the owners keep their puppies in a room in the back that you can see when your stylist is washing your hair. 5 stars for professional, friendly, wholesome interactions all around.

Great job by Marsella! The only stylist who didnt give me excuses for bleaching my hair. She is a true professional. I love my black hair,but with age comes grey and so finally decided to slowly change my color. Marsella was very clear on how long the process might take and explained each process. Ive had stylist in the past give me excuses, either they were lazy, scared, or simply did not want to spend time stripping the color. My experience was Wonderful! Thank You!!!

They offer additional services highlights, color, etc.As you enter the Salon, one is warmly greeted by Jason who promptly takes your coat and offers you a beverage. Saturdays, home backed goods are present on the coffee table ;)While the Salon is not located in the heart of Lincoln Park, public transportation is nearby: CTA or brown line.I have a car when I visit and Im always VERY happy to find a parking space on the street. Oh and its FREE parking on the side streets!Make sure you stop by the girlz office and give them some TLC, Woof!

I dont usually write reviews but I read all the good reviews about this salon I was very excited.I had my roots touched up at Remarked Salon Saturday morning March 31st by RickiI told her I wanted the platinum blonde hair color same as my ends I want my roots. Let me just say she completely changed my hair color. I dont even know what color this is? I told her it looks a lot darker. She is like no its not and a colleague of hers I dont know her name says its as white as snow. I mean just terrible to be treated in such a rude way as if you are blind and can not see.She should not call herself a hair colorist and if she couldnt do my hair the way I wanted it she should of let me know. Instead of doing what she felt like without asking. Obviously she does not care about her clients or their feelings.

Well, it took me about a year, but I finally found someone to cut my hair right again! I had the best guy who had one chair out in Andersonville, but he moved away, and its been one haircut after another of just alright. Not any more. Mark, the owner of Remarked, has been taking care of me for months now. I actually had a cute hipster at ipsento walk up to me out of the blue to say she loved my hair. Really? Good enough for me. Im sold, Mark. Great addition to the North Bucktown area. Highly recommended!
