I started going to Salon Edda about 2 years ago when I moved to the neighborhood (back then it was Natural Elements Salon) and absolutely cannot recommend it enough. Warm, inviting, comfortable, and they do it all - hair, make up, nails, etc. Really easy to book online and staff is extremely friendly and flexible with accommodating appointments last minute. Make sure you see Martha for all of your blow out needs - they’re the best I’ve ever gotten (don’t waste your money at that Blow Out Junkie down the street).

Angie R. cuts my hair at Etta Salon. She not only gives me a great cut but is friendly and a true professional. I highly recommend her for mens haircuts. The salon is clean and the rest of the staff are friendly and courteous, as well.

Had two cuts here so far and I wish I had more reasons to visit because it feels like seeing old friends. Such kind and welcoming staff, tremendous service and they really won’t let you leave till you are absolutely thrilled and satisfied with their work. I consider going to their salon one of the best things I do for myself, a real treat. Highly recommend and fantastic value!

The vibe at Salon Edda is calm & cute. Right away felt in great hands as Samuel began my consult. I was in desperate need of style & he delivered! I left with textured waves, face framing & felt like myself again after some blah haircuts elsewhere. Already scheduled a gloss & blow dry for next month. This may be my new salon home.Thirza had her work cut out for with my terrible dry nails, but her kind demeanor & clear expertise had my nails looking fresh in no time. Pedicure happened downstairs in the spa & was relaxing & meticulous! My toes have never looked better & I enjoyed the massage a lot! Ill be back for a dip manicure in a few weeks, as recommended!

I got a haircut from Samuel this morning and I love it! He made sure to give me exactly what I wanted and I can’t stop looking at myself. The salon was very on top of COVID regulations and made me feel safe.

Salon Edda is always an amazing experience! The salon owner Edda took her time to explain the steps of my bleaching process and always prioritized my comfort and safety—I could really tell she cared about how I looked by how caring and attentive she was throughout the process. My hair looks absolutely beautiful thanks to her coloring expertise—seriously, dont go anywhere else for hair coloring.My hair stylist Laurent was FANTASTIC!!! He is literally the most professional, kind, and detail-oriented artist. I was just getting my usual trim with a blunt end and he took so much time to make sure my hair was perfect. The precision was outstanding.The entire staff is friendly and professional as well! The reception desk is actually supported by owner Eddas twin daughters, I think its fabulous they have a family run and operated salon.This is the only salon I will go to in Chicago because they are THAT amazing, skilled, and professional.

Came to salon Edda and had such a pleasant experience! The staff were all so kind and welcoming and the salon was immaculate and cozy. I cannot begin to describe how great of an experience we had here a few weeks ago. My fiancee had a huge knot in her hair that we couldnt get out after trying absolutely everything and we needed this done asap. We arrived and Scott went so far as to wait outside for us and started working on it right away. He was SO good, positive, helpful, timely, etc. and got everything done better and quicker than we could have imagined. I cant speak more highly of his work and his overall attitude, and we are forever thankful for what he was able to do for us then. We are excited to go back here and I would recommend Salon Edda, and Scott in particular, to anyone.

This is a LONG overdue review of my experiences at Salon Edda!I started going there last summer when I decided to grow out my hair. I was really worried about the in-between phases and wanted to make sure it looked okay during the grow out process. Edda has been so patient with me during this process, even when I feel like I want to cut it all off again. Im really happy with my in-between cuts so far and am impressed with the level of expertise Edda and her staff have.I also recently went to them for a scalp treatment when I had some dandruff issues. Sam thoroughly explained everything to me during the process and also gives really great head massages! I was a little skeptical about it but since that treatment, havent experienced any more dandruff!Overall, Ive been a happy client here and have since recommended a few friends and my sister to them. Everyone has always been very friendly and welcoming and thats part of the reason I keep going back.

Martha did a beautiful job with giving me exactly what I asked for! She brightened my blonde hair and added a cool ashy tone- which I am over the moon with. Shes talented and dedicated. I have particularly thin fine hair which some stylists have trouble working with; but Martha had no problem and gave me some tips on how to keep it even healthier. She also does my sisters thick dark brown hair. Id recommend her to anyone with any type of hair. Ill be going back as soon as they open again. Lastly, the salon itself has a lot of character and great art :)

I cannot say enough about Nate at Salon Edda. I have been going to him for about two years for cut and color and he is amazing! I get so many complements on my hair color and cut. Nate does a wonderful balayage on my top and I have a beautiful blend of warm, rich colors. He will win you over with his artistry and his warm and welcoming personality.Edda and her team treat you like royalty from the second you enter the salon. I look forward to my after work appointments to decompress from the day. I wouldn’t go anywhere else. I have never had so many random people stop me and tell me how much they like my hair.

I needed a new hair stylist after the quarantine and found Salon Edda - I couldnt be happier. Edda is professional and takes all precautions mandated due to the pandemic, she is very friendly, attentive and a perfectionist when it comes to color, which came out fabulous. And I can say the same for my cut by Laurent. Altogether a wonderful experience in those scary and uncertain times. I felt like I have been a customer there forever! Front desk staff is friendly and professional. Highly recommendable!

I recently moved to the area and was looking for a new salon. I am very happy with my experience. I had an ombre/balayage done by Martha and love how it turned out. I felt I was able to take my time explaining exactly what I was looking to have done. Martha was very good at listening to me and helping me reach my hair goals for something unique im aiming for in the future. Another thing that I really liked about this salon was that the staff was very kind and respectful to each other. You could tell everyone has a good working relationship with each other and it made for such a nice atmosphere.

After a disaster of my hair color that i have done to myself, i was literally crying and called Edda around 3pm. Sure after around 6pm she took me and fix the problem, she was very meticolus and careful. She did everything to make me happy and I left the store very happy. Great person, very professional, good staff, extremely sterilized and clean atmosphere and fair prices. Definetly a place for me to visit every 3 weeks from.now on. also their nail salon and nail technicians are great too. 5 stars Edda!

Ive been going to Chris for about 30 years. Shes amazing. Professional and competent. She puts thought into what she does. I know several people who have been going to her for many years. Even though it has the feel of a neighborhood spot, I know some of her clients drive in from the burbs to continue to see her. The salon sets the right tone if youre the relaxed informal type. The prices are reasonable and everyone there is super nice and friendly. I have curly thin hair and Chris always gets the haircut just right. Her colorist skills are terrific too. One thing I really like about her is that she really listens to what YOU want and she knows enough to make it turn out just right. After all these years going to Natural Elements, I see the other stylists work and they are all great. Every time I walk out of there feeling better than I did walking in!

I have difficult hair in that it has two entirely different textures. Since my hair has evolved into this state, I have had some very weird and mortifyingly embarrassing haircuts at one salon after another. Since I started coming to Natural Elements, years ago now, I have had one great haircut after another. My hair not only looks normal but it looks good. I absolutely wouldn’t go anywhere else. Even after coming here for several years, Edda still takes time to listen to my hair wishes and has really really helped with products and suggestions and good advice. I usually get my haircut by Edda and it’s an unfailingly great cut. If Edda is unavailable, I’ve gone to others in her salon and all have been great. The salon is a wonderful place to be. I enjoy going. The vibe is at once calm, serene and up-to-date. There’s a little room that’s a little oasis with candles and calm music where you get your hair washed and Edda regularly goes to New York to present, train others and keep the salon “cutting edge.“

My new go to place in Chicago’s Lincoln Park neighborhood for hair, nails and waxing! Edda the owner is top notch and her team makes you feel at home. I see Martha for hair and Uka for nails and waxing. I can recommend them without hesitation!

The salon is super nice inside, and they sell a wide variety of unique hair products that you can’t find anywhere else.

I see Davey at Natural Elements for cut and color, and Jordan does my waxing. Both of them are great. I am in sales, and need to keep my look current and up to date. Davey has great ideas about what to do and he is friendly and fast, and he helps me on how to style my hair at home. I have been working with the salon owner, Edda for years, since she was a stylist at another salon, and now she is the owner. I now see others on the team, who fit more with my budget, and I am very happy with them. I dont want anyone else to do my hair. I can trust the staff at the salon. I not only get great advice on my look, I feel better about myself when I leave!Regarding the location, I can usually find free street parking in the area. I have also had makeovers here, and buy my makeup from them. I am not one to wear a lot of make up, but they have great ideas about a few products that will help me look great. Edda stocks a certain amount of jewelry that I have bought here that have become my favorite pieces. This is also a salon carrying Arrojo hair products, which I have come to love. I highly recommend this salon.

I absolutely loooved my experience at Salon Edda! The staff are soo kind, friendly, and truly care about giving you an enjoyable experience. I had Edda (The Owner) as my stylist and she was THE BEST. She is so knowledgable and helped me figure out what worked best for me :) I cannot recommend this place enough!They are also so accommodating to their clients. As a muslim woman, I require privacy from men when showing my hair and I have never been in a place so willing to accommodate.

The whole experience at Salon Edda is ten stars. From booking the appointment to leaving the salon, Edda makes sure you have the best experience. My recent appointment was cancelled a few times due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Each time I needed to be rescheduled the salon reached out to me ahead of time to rebook. They asked how I was doing during the pandemic and showed that they care about their clients as people too - not just for business. Working in a service industry myself, it is clearly evident that the whole staff is under incredible leadership and team culture. But that’s not the best part, just wait until you book with Martha. You’ll get the best balayage in the city. My Polish frizzy hair stays silky for 2-3 months, and transforms me into someone who can *usually* straighten their hair in the summer. I can wear my hair straight again in a professional office because of the high quality product/toner she uses. Martha’s skills with the coloring is hard to find. She does better than the best pins on your Pinterest board - in fact she will look at them with you to help you learn and understand what would look best for your hair type. I get compliments all the time on my hair. Martha will take her time to make your hair look perfect. She is an artist. Thank you Martha and team Edda!

Curly hair here! Extremely thick, curly hair. Edda is one of few stylists who knows exactly what to do with my thick, curly hair. I’ve been seeing her for more than 11 years and I won’t see anyone else. She’s helped me cut it short, grow it out, wear it shoulder-length, wear it so short you can see my scalp through the sides, bobs, pixies, whatever. She says I have the thickest hair of any of her clients except for one other one, but she’s not intimidated in the least. She’s helps me keep my hair from turning into a triangle! Trust her with your curly hair.

Love this place! I just appreciate how much attention they pay to their customers! This was my first time with Carly and she did a fantastic job with my hair cut and low lights! Her personality is also lovely! I cannot wait to get my hair done again!

At first I thought the experience in this salon was good. But after coming home I noticed few parts of my hair colored poorly and after 3 washes you can really see it. I was told that the hair dye will wash out only in two months, but turns out that was a lie. I dont have anything against this salon. Im just really disappointed cuz I dont live in Chicago and cant change it.

Having tried two different salons, I encountered men who didnt understand the potential of my natural red hair and its healthy volume. Love getting my hair done with Edda. I always feel well cared for at the salon -- the shampoo retreat is a calming space that begs me to take a nap every time! And, Elizabeths manicures are magnificent -- they last two weeks . . . and, they are a standard manicure as I have long given up on shellac, no chip and gel manicures. Amazing.

Magicians! All staff are amazing but Edda, the owner, worked a miracle on my daughters damaged hair to the point where my husband thought it was a wig. Warm, caring and terrific at what they do. Great atmosphere! And Jordan does their facials and makeup, even tutorials. Fab experience! Im a lifer.

Love Natural Elements Salon! Carly has been cutting my hair for years. She is always friendly and listens to exactly what I want when it comes to hair cuts! I have a lot of hair, and she is very precise and does an incredible job, but gets me in and out as quickly as all of my long hair allows! She has given me a couple of blow outs, for different occasions, I have always loved what she does, straight blows out and beach waves!

I came here for a pedicure, the pedicure is kind of the standard, what you would expect from a salon, the place was clean, the color choices were good, the staff was friendly and kind, and we even got a handwritten thank you note from the owner after our service.The pedicure was good but did not rock my world however I will go back!

The quality of service, along with Tirza’s professionalism and awesome customer service, are the reason why I keep coming back! Also, front desk is always so helpful and welcoming!

I have been going to this salon ever since I moved to Chicago from NYC. It is unique in that all stylists are certified colorists (a true rarity). They never miss a beat with color or cut. They run a really professional shop with a great vision and true artistry. Its also a very relaxing place to get your hair or nails done especially after a long day or week!

This place is an absolute gem. Been coming here since I was a little girl, its like a spa in the middle of the city. The stylists are wizards; the two times I had my hair done for parties I wound up not being recognized and winning best updo respectively. One warning that you will never want to go to another hair salon again, and they are pretty pricey.
