I have family members that have been going to this office for years. Dr Hastings has been a wonderful doctor and the office manager is phenomenal as well.

The Worst experience with a physician. Do NOT waste your precious time or health by seeing this MD. He doesnt listen to the patient during the visit and comes to a conclusion before even completing an exam. After I left the office, he changed the notes in my electronic chart 3 times (I received an alert each time) and each note had a different approach to the visit. It is a shame that he reflects on the reputation of Esse Health and the other physician in the practice.

Terrible experience. Very bad bedside manner. I went to Dr. Hastings for neck and shoulder pain, which has been keeping me awake when I turn during sleep. In addition to stretching exercises, he suggested massage therapy, acupuncture and chiropractor. I followed the stretching exercises religiously, 3-4 time a day for 4 months. After 4 months, the pain is still there. I have also tried massage therapy about every 2-3 weeks for 3 months and acupuncture for 2 months. None of them relieved the pain. Then, I asked for a referral to a physical therapist whom a friend of mine said had really helped her with a similar situation as mine. Dr. Hastings said sternly a physical therapist will not help and would be a waste . Instead, he said he can prescribe some pain medications for me. After I rejected the suggestion of pain medication, he told me he had spent enough time talking to me and stormed out of the examining room and said I can leave now.

This doctor is a danger to his patients. He does not listen to the patient, and does whatever is in his mind unrelated to what the patient is saying. To the point that I was telling (begging) him to listen to me just for 3 minutes to explain what I am going through ... he tgen pretend to be listening, and after I explained my concerns which didnt match his diagnosis, he turned to me and said: so you dont trust my medical opinion, you can go find another doctor to treat you. I said, it has nothing to do with trusting your medical opinion, I just think you do not have all the information... He insisted that he could not be my doctor anymore ... eventually, I agreed... Who wants such an idiot to be his doctor?I honestly think he needs psychological and/or psychiatric help.Being his patient is literally playing with your life!

Dr. Hastings lacks knowledge and compassion. When you ask him a question, he will give you a print-out to read. Or if you really push him for a straight answer, hell look it up on the internet right in front of you. When you ask him about your health concerns, rather than answer the question, he will make you feel horrible about yourself. Save yourself the trouble and go to a real doctor, one who cares. Or save your money and do a google search because thats all hes good for.

Do not become a doctor if you do not care about your patients. Dr. Hastings was not interested in any of my problems because one of them concerned a neck injury and I needed pain medication to help me until I could see the neurosurgeon still weeks away. With all of the new rules on pain medication, he assumed that he would/could not help me and began cutting off my sentences and acting confused by everything I said. He ignored my major issues that I was seen in the ER for and would not look at my MRI report to see that I have real and valid reasons for the pain. He started becoming condescending and said he could not understand why I was there, even though I had in my hands a referral for ulcer work up and neck pain evaluation, he never looked at it once. He said I needed to see a psychiatrist (even though I already do since I tragically lost first my son). Those were his final words to me. I felt insulted, judged, and completely ignored. If you are expecting care and compassion in any form, this is not the doctor for you. Good luck to anyone in pain who can use it for medical reasons and be responsible. These rules and guildines are punishing the wrong people. You have to subject yourself to doctors like this who automatically treat you like one of those people who are out of control, and they are scared to help you so they leave you in a state of severe pain where your only choice is the ER. And the ER will eventually stop helping you because you will be going there too offer, forcing you to look like those people who seek out drugs to missuse. THERE HAS TO BE A BETTER WAY TO HANDLE THIS SITUATION. NO PERSON IN LEGITIMATE PAIN WITH IMAGING/DOCTOR REFERRALS CAN HAVE ACCESS TO PAIN CONTROL IF NEEDED. DOCTORS ARE TOO SCARED TO WRITE PRESCRIPTIONS, THAT THEY LEAVE THEIR PATIENTS UNTREATED TO SAVE THEMSELVES FROM THE HARSH RETALIATION OF THE GOVERNMENT. Thank, Dr. Hastings, for being a perfect example of a doctor that chooses themselves over their oath to take care of their patients and the oath of Esse Health that states “We want you well”. Maybe you need to remember what your job is and start doing it correctly again. Take care of your patients, don’t insult them.

This is the single worst doctor I have ever seen and let me tell you I had one in the past that was pretty bad, but nothing like this. I want to start by giving a PSA : Please read the other reviews before seeing this practice. They are legitimate. I can attest, this man is an awful doctor and really says the things you are reading to patients. I genuinely thought he had already lost his license. He made fun of both me and my family in the office. He told me I seemed to angry when asking him about his diagnoses and I should see a therapist (of which I do already have but not for anger management). And told me there must be something wrong with me in my head. He spent most of the time watching his clock, handing me useless internet web md type handouts, and making snarky comments. I guess when you are a older middle aged man who wasted your life pursuing a career that serves the public and you are only concerned about yourself it must be pretty tiring to have to consider patients ailments. (Unapolagetically sarcastic) The less time he has to see you the better for him because he claims to always be running behind. I have filed formal complaints and left messages with no avail. I am so annoyed I ever went to this narcissistic fool and really hope I save you the reader some time and emotional bombardment by avoiding this place altogether. Also for anyone working with this man - you honestly and I mean honestly could do better. Dont sell yourself short holding up the reputation of such a terrible public healthcare professional. There is real good in the world and your talents could be utilized somewhere else to their full potential.

Zero stars! My husband and I both had bad experiences seeing Dr Hastings. My husband was concerned about prostate problems but was told by Quack Hastings not to worry about a prostate exam. He was 55 at the time. Now my husband has been diagnosed with Stage IV prostate cancer. It has spread to his pelvis lymph nodes and shoulder bone. He must have had it for a few years. I can only wonder if he would have been taught that men need to get PSA blood tests yearly at this age if he would have been saved from the cancer. This cancer is not curable. :(My own experience is not as urgent as what my husband had. All I can say is that when I needed him, he refused to take my calls regarding a prescription he prescribed. Refused to speak with me!Do not look for emotional or physical help from this Quack.

0 stars if possible for this doctor and staff. Worse experience ever. My husband didnt like him either when we first started going only because of insurance change and his bedside manner is awful. Staff says they told you stuff when they really didnt. When I called them out on it they got very defensive. I know what has been said to me and I dont think people should make up stuff to cover their butts for their job. the doctor spends no more than 10 seconds in the room with you. If you need a doctor do not choose Dr Hastings or his office.

Do yourself a favor, and wait the extra time to see Dr. Ganninger (the other doctor at Esse health) instead. Ive been going to Dr. Ganninger for years, and he is amazing. I had to get in today, because I have had a severe sore throat for five days. I was shocked at the difference with Dr. Hastings. He couldnt have cared less about what I had to say. He couldnt get out of the room fast enough. I told him I was on the verge of tears, because my throat hurt so badly. He looked for approximately 1 second and replied, Oh, its not that bad! He suggested chloroseptic spray. I will never settle again. No wonder he had availability on such short notice!

Dr. Hastings did not even add a statin for someone with an elevated LDL and cholesterol of 286. My mom could have had a stroke after the years of negligence. He also codes incorrectly so you get billed outrageously strictly because Dr. Hasting coded incorrectly. When you try and call the office manager, you will not get a call back. Dont even bother asking about your condition because he will not explain it to you. Plenty of other knowledgable physicians but not Dr Hastings.

Terrible bedside manner. Arrogant. Pill pusher. I am switching doctors immediately. When I told the pharmacist she said she had several customers tell her the same thing. When I told a Home Health care nurse, she said I was the third person that month to say they were leaving him!
