Patient First in Chester VA is the best primary and urgent care location to visit. The doctors and other staffs are very attentive and they provide the best care you can get. This is a very professional and friendly environment. I would recommend them to any family, friend, or anyone who is seeking fast and reliable care. To all the doctors and staffs Thanks for your service and support in my time of need. I salute you all for a job well done.

Disappointed that due to using this Patient First as a Primary Care I found that to be a bad decision. Ran out of diabetic meds (metformin pills) and could not refill until I did a visit. That’s not practical at all. I understand the premise, but would not be in such a position with a more individual based primary care. I should be able to refill a smaller amount until I could get back. Especially under COVID hazards and such in all immediate care facilities

I was dissatisfied with how long I had to wait but the reason I still have a 10 Is because I received a letter in the mail apologizing about the wait times that day and explaining what was going on. That was really thoughtful and it hasn’t gone unnoticed. I really appreciate that. Would highly recommend this location.

It was extremely busy while we were there and Im sure it had an impact on my care, but I was a bit baffled by the care I got. Stitched up the big wound; didnt even look at the wounds on my butt. Predictably they are the ones still killing me but please dont ask me to drag myself out to the car for another visit....The doctor was clearly in a BIG rush and definitely blazed their way through a long list of patients, but I would have appreciated more patience with my complaints. Maybe I wouldnt be hurting as badly now if she had spent a little more time listening to me...

I was pleasant surprised by the service I received during this visit, considering our familys experience over several years was negative and my prior last 2 visits to the Colonial Heights location for this same injury were not nearly as good. I was treated quickly (45 minutes total from entry to departure). Everyone was pleasant & professional & answered all of my questions. The week prior, I waited 3 hours (total from start to finish) & the doctor essentially guessed at my diagnosis, considering I probably have a soft tissue injury & only x-rays were taken.) At the original visit, I requested a knee compression support or brace & was told I didnt need one. As it turns out, it could have prevented further injury I experienced the following week, even though I was following the original doctors orders of light duty, icing & elevation. I was provided an immobilizer during this 3rd visit, along with using compression, which has assisted in the healing process.

I visited the office at around 9:00 pm and there was only 1 other person in the waiting room. My wait time was about 10 minutes from the time I checked in. In that time, the front desk staff thoroughly cleaned the waiting room. Everyone that I encountered this evening was extremely pleasant. Two thumbs up from me on this particular visit. If you have another choice, don’t go to this Patient First. I was told the weight time was 3+ hours when I arrived and I settled because I didn’t feel good and I took an Uber to get there. My symptoms got worse and worse as I waited and I could hear people that came after me, were seen and released before the Doctor came in my room!! My condition was not Covid related! Tara/Tiara is very rude and I don’t understand how she still has a job, clearly she HATES people and working there. At one point I saw her slam the door in a woman’s face and wouldn’t let her into the front door. I finally was seen 4 hours after checking in and was sent on my way with antibiotics and eye drops!! I have been to plenty other Patient First in the past and received great care, nothing like what I experienced today! DONT GO HERE!!!!

The wait time was a lot longer than I expected. I ended up leaving to go get pain meds because I couldnt take it anymore after waiting almost 3 and a half hours to be called back. It felt like I was in the ER. When I did get back there the nurse wasnt very friendly or showed any empathy. They didnt try to see if anything else was wrong with me. She told me to swab my nose and left me alone. The doctor came in told me I had covid, listened to my lungs real quick and sent me on my way. Didnt even tell me if they sounded good or bad. I had to ask. Didnt ask if I had any questions or any other issues going on. This is by far the worst experience Ive has at this location. I still ended up having to go to the ER to get blood work and a Xray the following night. Completely defeated the purpose of going to Patient first.

Went in for a cough that got worse since seeing my primary about a week ago. Sat outside for over 1 hour, they already took a payment prior to seeing me asking if I wanted to pay in full or do a payment plan. I finally get to the back, they did a covid test and nothing more. Nobody listened to the cough or anything like that, told me to quarantine for a couple days and that was it. I had no other covid symptoms, my cough had changed since seeing my primary which was the main reason for my visit. I had no problem doing the covid test, but for that to be all that was done is a complete joke.Update 9/11: They have now billed me another $80 on top of the $50 I paid up front without them disclosing any of what I would owe while there. I am self pay, they deducted from over $350. All that was done was my height, weight, temperature, and a covid test. Literally nothing more was done, the doctor did NOTHING aside from print and sign a paper telling me to quarantine. Well the COVID test was negative, so I have to pay $130 for my height, weight, and temperature? Never using this disgrace of a medical facility again.

Physician who saw me, along with other providers and staff were loudly discussing their political views / opinions on ABORTION and new laws in Texas saying it was criminal, discussing pay as a provider in Texas and that they would never step foot there. The provider that saw me tried fear mongering me with reasons why I should be vaccinated after I told her I was hesitant because Ive had previous life threatening reactions to multiple vaccines. She told me well we dont know whats to come of these Covid babies, Im 50 years old so I dont worry about it for me but you know for your future children it could have long term effects. (What about the long term effects of the Covid vaccine and fertility?! - wasnt feeling well enough to snap back with this)...I told her well I had a tubal ligation so I dont worry either. I was being seen for Covid symptoms already and a few minutes later she told me my results anyway. She did not provide me my usual discharge print out, only a work note with restrictions. No prescriptions, just told me to hydrate. I told her I had asthma, she didnt ask if I needed an inhaler refilled etc. Ive already had to contact my PCP this morning with issues. She had a condescending attitude the entire visit, spoke over me often and rudely told me to uh-uh sit up when I sat on the exam chair / table and leaned back into the pillow. Please save other patients. I didnt feel safe at all. However, the front reception staff and tech who did my vitals and lab work were pleasant.

The girl at registration was friendly and took her time to collect my info. The Medical Assistant was not friendly at all and seemed uninterested in why I was visiting. The water in the bathroom had been turned off during my urine sample and I had to flag down someone out on the floor for assistance with the water so I could wash my hands; several staff walked by, saw me and didn’t ask if I needed help. The lab technician who drew my blood complained about the high volume of people coming through the center and that he’s making less than minimum wage based on how many labs he’s having to process each day. The wait for a room was longer than usual. Overall I came because the location was convenient, but based on the support staff I would not visit this center again; I would rather go to another urgent care center. The physician was great and made sure I understood the lab info and what could possibly could be causing the pain the brought me in the first place.

The physician that saw me was very unprofessional. She kept giggling about things, could barely stay on topic because she said she was tired and ready to go home. She also burped while in the room and acted as if she was drunk. I went in to make sure my baby was ok and not once did they tell me they couldn’t help me because they don’t have ultrasound. So I went in just to be told I am pregnant which I already knew but that there was nothing else that could be done. So while I am sitting there hoping I am not having a miscarriage the physician is telling me there is nothing she can do. She was more preoccupied with what medications I take and giggling about everything as if it’s a funny situation. I wish I was told ahead of time I could not be helped so I wouldn’t have wasted time and money and walked away with no answer on if my baby is ok.

Every year my health insurance company requires me to undergo a Health Risk Assessment (Physical) which in turn makes my premium lower. I went to Patient First for my initial HRA and was later billed for it. I immediately called my insurance provider and they told me Patient First did not code the claim correctly. Patient First billed me for a regular office visit and not preventative care. After 6 months of me having to go back and forth between my insurance company and Patient First my out of pocket was finally coded correctly to my insurance company. This year I am to undergo the exact same HRA for my insurance company. I figured maybe the first time dealing with Patient First was a mistake on their part. I mean, everyone makes a mistake now and then. Right? So I go to Patient First for my HRA this year and think nothing of it. I get home today and low and behold what is sitting in my mailbox but a bill from Patient First for an office visit. Just picture my frustration as I’m sitting on the phone with my insurance company, yet again, over payment and incorrect coding on Patient First’s part.Pathetic. I can only think of how many patrons of their establishment get billed erroneously and just pay it. Patient First should be ashamed of themselves. Milking money out of patrons whom come to you for good health care only to fork out money to you for “erroneous coding”? Give me a break. You people know what you are doing. My next rating will be with the BBB!

She was snarky, impatient, and cut over me repeatedly and as I tried to get spellings of the doctors names to list she said call the insurance company and hung up on me. Im appalled. Clearly, she does not possess patience nor time to provide correct spellings to people belonging to an older population.I only wanted to list Patient First as my Primary Physician but a name is needed on my *new employee insurance paperwork. My form requires a doctors name that can found on its Find a Doctor website to be deemed in-network. Ive visited Patient Firsts over the past 10 years since my primary retired and always gave high marks on their internal feedback surveys (lobby cards & text msgs) but this young, impatient, holier-than-thou girl (because she didnt behave with the grace nor maturity of a woman) proved Iron Bridge does not want senior dollars and has led me to re-evaluate my choice.

Staff seemed eager to help.I really loved the doctor who saw me. He was professional and even asked about a note to excuse me from work, which I would have forgotten if not.My favorite aspect: They give you a few informative receipts on your way out. Among them is info about your diagnosis, your treatment, and even (in my case) a note for work.Least favorite feature: The front desk is designed with decoration -not discretion- in mind. I heard two patients sensitive information, including social security numbers, because there is no solid floor to ceiling wall division. Kind of lame. 🤧

12-2020 Visit to Patient FirstLong wait (2hours). While the staff is extremely friendly the care of the facility during this COVID-19 pandemic leaves a lot to be DESIRED. Full of people, way too many and the seating is not spaced out enough (social distancing is a joke) inside the facility. The people who come in with COVID symptoms should be using alternate entrance not the same entrance that other people are using. Also people should be in there cars and called in to keep the spread of disease down. I did not observed any SANITIZING of ANYTHING nor ANY SORT of DISINFECTING during my 2 visits. Nothing was being WIPED OFF nor DISINFECTANT at all. The kiosk which is touch screen that you use to check in is not even being DISINFECTANT nor wiped off unless you yourself clean it before use. Someone really need to look into setting up safety measures for DISINFECTING and SANITIZING this place. I checked in asked to be called when the doctor was ready to see me and went back to my car. The next day I could not even get out of bed. Treatment for the flu is only effective if caught within the first couple days. A simple proper test would have revealed that I had the Flu and could have been treated. Two days later when seeing my Doctor it was too late for treatment and I suffered for over a week. So thanks for charging me my co-pay for nothing. I will not recommend your services to anyone. The only chance you have of me coming through your doors would be if the illness or injury was 100% apparent and my location gave me no alternative. Patient First in Chester is First Rate in my site. From the receptionists to the nurses and doctors. I usually see Art Lindsey, PAC and am very satisfied. The follow-up is top notch.

I am very pleased with Patient First. I was quickly processed and quickly seen by a physician. The physician quickly diagnosed my issue and was even able to provide me medication that I needed without having to make an additional stop at a drugstore. After two days, I feel much better, thanks to the Doctor!
