I wanted to give this place a chance despite the negative reviews, I came in upon my intake they seemed very friendly and amenable. However, once they had gotten my insurance information and after initial intake it became increasingly difficult to make an appointment. I have memory issues so every time I make an appointment, I call someone so they can add it to their schedule as well as me adding it to my schedule as well. Even though I have documented proof of the date and time, when I come in for my appointment it is mysteriously not the right day. I chalk it up to my bad memory and I reschedule again, having to wait another month for my new appointment. I come in for my newly scheduled appointment and again mysteriously it’s the right day but the wrong time, even though I later found their reminder card to be at the same time I came in. I agree to make another appointment, by this time since I am a new patient coming from an outpatient facility I am at the end of my three month supply that they gave me after discharge. Granted I am on at least ten different medications, I come in just a few minutes late. I am waiting in line for a good five to ten minutes behind someone who is paying several bills. At which time I realize it is way past my appointment time and a speak up, she tells me I will be with you in a few minutes. Another secretary comes out and just stands there for a few minutes until the other woman tells her to help me, at which time I am told that I am too late to my appointment. The previous woman I was dealing with the stated I just came in and that I would have to make a new appointment again in a months time. This is clear malpractice in accordance with the APA. If you have a similar experience please report at ASPPB.NET . Let’s keep people like this away from patients who may not even be of mind to speak up for themselves.

Worse place ever. Can’t pick up the phone. If your case manager suggests this place, ask for another. They also never told me Diamond, my therapist , left and never gave me a new one. I keep trying to call to get a new one but they can’t pick up the phone.

I contacted SJ behavioral health in May asking for a therapist. My mental health has deteriorated from my job and family issues. The first couple times they didnt answer the phone. The answering machine said they do walk-ins, so I went there and they asked me to fill out papers. They said they would call me first thing tomorrow morning. They said on the phone that my appointment would be a month later over the phone. I asked why its over the phone and they said because of COVID. COVID should no longer be an issue to not have in person appointments. I have my shots but Ill still wear my mask. And a month from then? Thats not right. Turns out the appointment was just an intake, why it wasnt part of the paperwork I dont know. She says give it a week and well call you. Its been two weeks. Try calling, they dont pick up and inbox is full.

Felt like the therapists were very inexperienced, and the psychiatrist didnt listen to my concerns that the medicine wasnt working. Group therapy was ok but the whole office is hard to get in touch with.

I wouldn’t come here if this was the last resort for talk therapy. Staff is very unprofessional & say they can relate to you when they never experienced what you were going through . The therapists spew textbook clinical advice & when they ask you for your goals don’t even bother answering them. The place needs to be reported to Medicaid & Medicare & other insurance companies as well as the state & shut down permanently.

It was good since they had appointments a while back. Now, you have to be lucky to get a doctor. You have to wait two to ten times as long just to get the prescription. I recommend to find another doctor that has appointments. I wished they went back to making appointments so it wouldnt be a struggle. As for the therapists, I felt more depressed each time I got a new therapist. The staff never told me that I was going to have a new therapist and never gave me an appointment. As the days go by with a therapist, I got little progress because how they treated me and never progressed in more.Added: I had to raise my voice to get a supervisor three times towards the receptionist because the receptionist refused to do something.Overall, dont go to this company any longer than you should. It will bite you more than you realize. They need more training to get things done correctly.

The doctor here is what I like to call prescription happy and wanted to take me off message I’ve been on and ones that took years to finally find that worked for me. The receptionists were rude and I wouldn’t refer my worst enemy here 🤷🏼‍♀️

Be careful. They will pull you in with a great website but its all a scam. They charge to ask YOU questions in their intake evaluation. That counts as an appointment. Then they tell you you have to go to some group appointment where youre lucky if you get to say anything. Then they charge that as an appointment too. Dont let the great things on their site fool you. Oh and they dont tell you about all these surprise separate appointment charges. They just send you a bill in a few months even if you never actually end up seeing one of their therapists. Who knows what has to be wrong with you to get in with their psychiatrist.. most family practitioners arent masters of figuring out anti depressants but you have to have some serious issues for them to even let you see their psychiatrist and have their medical analysis. So I knew I needed mine at least checked and evaluated and I wasnt screwed up enough to even be allowed to make an appointment with the doctor.

Absolutely horrible. They cancel appointments without telling you until you show up. They get nasty when you need help and are upset and do not do their jobs. If you call, and leave a message they do not call you back. They will send you bills when you already paid their sliding scale fee and provided the necessary information to pay a reduced rate. How can this place have a overall rating of less than 2 stars and still be open?! You are dealing with people who are all ready not in a good place emotionally and they could care less.

I got referred there by a different place who made the appointment in front of me. My appointment was at 1:30.when I got there one lady said it was at 1:00 (basically saying I was late) but told me to sit down and shortly after another lady cane out and said my appointment was at 12:30. They both were wrong. They told me to either reschedule or make it a walk in (which couldve possibly taken all day) so I told them Id reschedule and walked out. Im not going back there. Very unprofessional.

Dont bother coming here. How it works is that the clinic is walk in based, but what that consists of is waiting in the lobby every day from 8:00am to 2:30pm hoping for someone with an appointment to cancel because you cant actually schedule an appointment. There is no guarentee that you will ever see anyone, just more waiting. You have to do this to see a therapist, and then you have to wait for someone to cancel AGAIN to see a psychiatrist, EVERY TIME. The psychiatrists only see 12 patients a day of which there is only 1 available, except on Fridays where there are 3.Let me reiterate: for walk ins, there are NO appointments. It all comes down to luck if someone cancels their appointment and you have to wait ALL DAY.You have to do this to see one of their therapists, who then do a psychiatric assessment on you to determine if you can even see a psychiatrist here. The assessment is shallow, they dont listen to your story, and the entire time theyre rushing you out the door. The therapist I saw determined that even though I had severe suicidal depression, I did not qualify for help because they only see severe bipolar types with hallucinations and schizophrenics. At this point, after waiting 2 hours to be effectively turned away, the therapist I saw did offer me some consolitory advice and told me to seek help elsewhere. She was quite nice to me and very good at her job, so that was all right. However, if you somehow manage to get any help, the quoted rate for me, an individual on the lowest side of the sliding scale, is $12 for therapy sessions and $12 for the psychiatrist. If you must, I recommend going in once an hour, on the hour and waiting for 10 minutes. If no one cancels by 10 after, dont bother waiting the full hour in the lobby. Come back the next hour. Also, the front desk talks to you like youre an idiot.

In dealing with multiple PC that help people having DMHS housing Vouchers . I have Experienced very unprofessional PC workers such as Fatera Johnson, At times Lavern Mitchell. And in the past issues where my choice in religion came up with a PC named Carmita who has since accepted a promotion. I got my voucher by going into a mica program since I have Depression but have never been diagnosed with anything other than depression. I did have an addiction. Issue which I got into treatment for several years ago. About 2 years ago my landlord of over 8 years moved in a very prejudice family next to meThey have put me thru a living hell for about 2 years. Along with him never repairing things properly the property has become unlivable. When ever I complain that my worker isnt giving me the unit hours that the DMHS pays them for. Then staff at SJBH treats me poorly. They fail to give me copies of treatment plans when made. Ive went to the top Debbie chismAnd now Im requesting info on omsbudsman. I feel bad for those clients who can not follow thru to do a proper grievances because they leave you on your own and wont even mail out a paper if asked for new copy. When a supervisor gets caught in a lie..I shut down and start doing all by text because if they are denying that they hung up twice and didnt leave messages..thats easy enough to prove with phone records.. pipa did that.. I know this people need an advocate if they are. Part of this housing program because they make the paperwork look right to go to TrentonBut reality is that whats written on those papers are not the facts they fail to record how many doctors apts theyMake you miss , workers claim its from being over worked given too many clients n not enough time resources or vehicles. All I know is then they shouldnt be paid for services not rendered.. My advice unless your absolutely desperate for housing. Then dont get into the DMHS housing program thru SJBH..because they do not keep writing agreements or keep to the treatment planThere are other voucher programs..search them all.

I have been here two days this week and still havent been seen for a simple refill for prescriptions. I have been here today since 9:00 am and they have no idea if I will be seen today. This is everyday. There are people here now that have been here waiting since 7 am and have not be seen. One of thier Doctors came out and anounced that she is tired of clients complaining and if we dont like it, we should all just leave.

This place is rude and unprofessional. My sister has been trying to come here after she left the crisis center of the hospital. The hospital referred her here.Shes shown up multiple time for her appointment and has to sit around all day waiting for someone to cancel their appointment. Thats not an appointment!!They claim new patients cant get an actual appointment!!They also wont refill her prescriptions for anti depressants until she has an actual appointment. This place is a joke!!This is no way to run a business, let alone out patient care that was referred by a HOSPITAL!!!DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!Your life may actually depend on it and these people wont care!!!

Ive read the reviews here.. Im sure there are reason for a lot of the bad comments.. But.. I have to say my time there was ok. About year ago you had to wait awhile, now I only have to wait like 10 or 15 mins to see the doctor 😷. I get what I need from the doctor and Im out. You wont be able to get them to pick up if you call... But they are very helpful and pleasent in person *shrugs*

My daughter had to be taken to crisis. They referred us here. I was given the run around for a psych eval for over a week. Finally got one and then the next day they cancelled it and rescheduled three weeks out. All for an eval.... not their other services. When I started to cry and was upset I was told to take her back to crisis. Thats who sent us to them! Office staff is unprofessional and do not care.

Went for a doctors appointment and they tell me that there are no doctors all week. Not only that but when I got there all the doors were locked and the lights were turned off. Employees started to come and they were all running around trying to figure out who hadnt come to work because apparently some workers werent coming in. Hate this place already and its only my first time. They need to be shut down or put under new management.
