She has been our family dentist for over 25-years and have seen my children since they formed baby teeth, seen me since I was in graduate school, and continues to see my elderly parents. I feel like my children have grown up with her and now that my daughter is a highschool senior, Dr. Sloop graciously and thoughtfully gifted her a free teeth-whitening appointment with extra bleaching chemicals to take home!! (My daughter was ecstatic and was given more gratis bleach chemicals upon going back for a cleaning). Dr. Sloop and her knowledgeable staff are friendly, patient, and professional with all ages; though, I believe her patients are mostly adults. Trisha, Sara, and Jennifer are gentle hygienists who want to get to know you before they begin cleaning to make you feel at ease. I have appreciated how they always ask me if I am doing alright while working on me. After my cleaning, Dr. Sloop takes the time to explain in easy terminology the state of my teeth with always encouraging suggestions on how to improve oral care if a problem has arisen—you get a sense while speaking with her that she genuinely loves what she does and cares for everyone.For more complicated dental procedures, she will check on you with a phone call after hours and has even made an unrelated emergency appearance at my grandmother’s home when her jaw unexpectedly locked!If you need to see a dentist during the COVID pandemic, this is the dentist for you as her treatment and waiting rooms have always been neat and immaculate! (Part of the experience in going to see her was enjoying her waiting room with every magazine possible for your viewing pleasure and viewing her antique dental instruments behind glass in an antique dresser!) Unfortunately, due to the virus but greatly appreciated for safety sakes, her wonderful receptionist Gabrielle has you waiting in your car until your appointment. She comes out to your car or will call you on your cell phone when a room is available. I received a text message from her a week before my appointment asking me if I felt comfortable being seen during this time. Gabriel explained in the text message that Dr. Sloop‘s office has carefully considered changes to help prevent the transmission of the virus by efficiently performing new protocols; such as where to wait, along with screening questions 48 hours in advance of the appointment and the day of the appointment, taking temperature readings, offering patients face masks until they are seen, and having all medical staff wear at all times face shields over their face masks, gloves, and gowns. I was pleasantly surprised that these protocols seamlessly occurred and did not increase the time I was scheduled to be there.I guarantee you once you see Dr. Sloop and her incredible team, you will get to know them on a first name basis just like me! I love Dr. Sloop, and her entire staff! I was just there for my visit 3 days ago. It was my first time back since she closed due to Covid19. I felt totally safe. I waited in my car until she was ready for me. They called me, met me at the office door, took my temperature, and then took me directly to the exam room. Everyone in the office had on the proper personal protective equipment, and the office was spotless clean. Between each patient, everything was cleaned and disinfected. Dr. Sloop and her staff did everything right to protect the health and safety of her patients.

Dr. Sloop is the best there is! I drive 45 minutes even though there are lots of dentists closer to him because I absolutely love her! She has been my dentist for about 18 years and I wouldnt see anyone else.

Dr. Sloop is the BEST dentist and so kind and caring! Her team is also wonderful and takes gentle care of their patients. One awesome thing about Dr. Sloop that I will always remember is the time I had my wisdom teeth removed. She saw how upset and nervous I was about having that done; so she sent me to a dentist that could give me medicine to put me to sleep while the wisdom teeth were being removed. Later that night I received a phone call and wondered who could be calling me. To my surprise, it was Dr. Sloop calling to check on me, she wanted to make sure I was doing ok and not having any problems. I knew then I had found the most WONDERFUL dentist ever!!! Dr. Sloop is a wonderful dentist we have been going to for over 20 years. She is personable, technically excellent and a perfectionist. A great staff and cozy office enviornment with parking right downtown. Her work is her art and she really cares about how things look in addition to the functionality. Our whole family just adores her, we make the drive from Pittsboro because she is so good. I would highly recommend her practice to anyone looking for a dentist.
